*KICK DOWN DOOR* i would love to tell but im gonna put it under a read more and put a tw of religion-ish stuff/cult stuff and its long this is actually sorta important to his lore so i aint gonna sugarcoat it

Mercury was raised by most of his family in some snowy lands in popstar (yk the fight with Francisca its basically that but on popstar) His family was reallllyyy religious and wanted to appease the ancients and somehow make them come back The parents of mercury believed the next child they would have would make the ancients happy and solve all their problems. So they PLANNED when mercury was supposed to be born and killed and all this other stuff Mercury was raised by them and his cousins and basically his whole family so he thought all this religious stuff was normal. He was taught how to be an archer and alot of other things BUT the night before basically his whole family got killed except mercury who exactly? the first guy in this heheheh*spins* BUT ANYWAYS mercury woke up the next morning and thought "oh they probably moved without me...hm.." and he searched for em for a few days but slowly lost hope. but he was always taught to be strong so he went to wander around popstar. he eventually became a mercenary so he can get food by doing jobs for people. most of em was simple and stuff and he was super good with the bow so it was basically a piece of cake! (he didnt snatch food for the first month totally shhhh) he then arrived at dreamland and was hired by the king himself!! it was an honor to mercury since... 1) more money!!! 2) he would make alot of people jealous with this mercury and king dedede didnt actually get along for the first month why? because mercury even tho he was hired by king dedede to beat kirby he always went to kirby side to beat king dedede and to help him get unpossessed when he was possessed but slowly he warmed up to mercury like he did with kirby. and knew he wasnt being a jerk and betraying the kingdom he just wanted to protect everyone. so king dedede talked with meta knight about training mercury. Meta knight actually didnt want to do it for a bit but when he saw how determined mercury was to protect the king,kirby and others he just accepted it and now he was his mentor and still is to this day

mercury and meta knight usually train once per week due to meta knight being busy and mercury trying to keep the king protected from whoever one day after the 64 game (let sayyyyy around a few months) i like to think dark matter is still around actually and actually went to mercury and tried to get him possessed. mercury was more strong willed ig you could say so he wasnt easily possessed. but dark matter stayed near him for a long time and tried to make him feel anxious,scared or whatever just to make him lower his mental state so he could have an easier time to possess him. This was around the time our lovebirds started to crush on eachother as well. one day dark matter wins and was able to possess mercury. AND GOOD GOD. he fought king dedede kirby and meta knight. barely won but king dedede knocked dark matter into next tuesday. mercury passed out and they put him in a room and just watched over him for awhile. when he woke up he couldnt move his legs and he was extremely weak. it took at least a month for him to recover.

after all this stuff things become sorta normal. mercury tho. hates the scar dark matter left on him. sometimes he will claw at it due to his frustration at it. (thats why he always wear long ass pants to cover his scar ^^) (and thats why he is so fucking scared of dark matter due to his possession) anyways after a bit he and king dedede got together (mercury gave him a pebble. he asked alottt about his traditions so thats why) after the rest of the games a magic user (idk his name but its the guy who killed mercury fam) comes over and convince mercury to come with him by saying his family is alive and miss him </3 mercury didnt want to go due to him thinking his family wouldnt want to see them (THEY ARE DEAD YOU IDIO-) but king dedede being supportive and sweet convince him to go and everything will be fine mercury goes with the magic user but got captured by them. they tell him how he was supposed to be a sacrifice and he was worthless and blah blah blah and he was controlled by them. king dedede and kirby and metaknight and bandana dee go try to find mercury and when they do they kick the magic users ass and save mercury...mercury was feeling extremely weak due to this and he was using alot of his ice powers (when he is pissed the ice grows on his arms and hands like big bulky ice gantlets and his arms get badly burned from this) but was greatful king dedede and the others saved him. uh anyways he is heavily traumatized and hates his family and is living on greatly without em. he rarely opens up to king dedede but when he does about his family after the incident king dedede always listens and comforts him.

GUYS. HOLY CRAP. I JUST HAD A CRAZY DREAM.

So, pretty sure first part about it was like, People coming up to my house and me and my family letting them stay in so they could hide from Momo, (pretty sure you've heard of her,) and I was, like, making sure everything was shut.

Next part was, like, Rayman Origins centered. Apparently, two Toad-like dudes were like, trying to pressure Globox into something, so he slapped them. (Proud of him.) I think the next parts had to do with evacuating or the Nymphs or something...?

Next it was about how in the Super Marios Bros. movie Kirby actually appeared in it along with King Dedede and Meta Knight and they were like, supporting characters, especially Kirby, and I was re-writing it cause the movie didn't do too well with them.

Next part (and one of the most intriguing) I think was, like, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon centered. So, apparently, I think this maybe Human-turned-Pokemon got separated and was trying to find this Group of Pokemon they were with, along with I think four, three, or two more Pokemon who also got separated from the Group, and I think they were like, his Partners, or something, and he found them all in like, a doctor/hospital rooms setting. Anyways, they ended up on a beach and I think they found the Group, who was like, relaxing, but the leader, who I think was actually CLAWROLINE and they treated "Clawroline" like a Pokemon species, so yeah, anyways, THREATENED the main character, and now the Group, (well, I think mainly her,) were after the main characters and his Partners, and I think his Partners helped him up, cause the leader, like, pinned him, and now they're on the run and trying to find a way to stop the Pokemon Group leader.

And the final part (which I found possibly the most intriguing) was I was on YouTube and one of the recommended settings (you know, like, along with things you enjoy, and they recommend, like music or Pokemon,) was MURFY, cause, I was like, looking at videos of the little Greenbottle. So, I tapped on "Murfy" and there was actually VIDEOS/SHORTS CENTERED AROUND HIM. Like, small crapposts or something, and one of them even drew him with like, hair, like, the "cool" hairstyle, or something, IDK how to describe it. And there were quite a few that was like, crossovers. One of them was I think an sad animatic about him getting upset with I think Lucy from Fairy Tail, running away, her finding him, and he's, like, dying, so he spends his final moments with her. And there was more of these crossovers with Fairy Tail that was mainly centered around him and Lucy. Like, it was weird. I think one of them was even about bath or Lucy once again being naked again cause like in the anime they keep on showing her naked!? Yeah, it was weird. I think I remember Murfy looking all awkward. I...I'm half convinced one of them was NSFW. The dream gave me that vibe. I'm pretty sure there WAS a part like that. Perhaps maybe the one where I think they showed Lucy naked for some reason. WTF.

Kirby Triple Deluxe Thoughts

Wow

Everyone hates this game, but I love it

I played with the 3D on the whole time

Beat us of 3D on the 3DS I’ve seen

BUTTERY 60 fps entire time even with 3D

60fps alone made it feel better than RtDL

In fact I’m struggling now with Robobobot’s 30 fps on Old 3DS

Beetle is great, Bell is great

I could do without circus

Perfect level design

I was worried it would just feel like RtDL 3DS edition, and it does, but there’s enough new level themes and use of the foreground/background

Hyper nova does feel a lot like the Ultra Abilities from RtDL, but it is visually distinct and the puzzles are different, so I find it superior personally.

Kirby sucking up a whole health bar is so much fun the couple times it happens

The final boss is so much fun, especially the adorable little stare down before the killing blow

Dedede’s emphasis is fun and I am tempted to play the extra mode

Kirby fighters is easily the most substantive minigame yet, and bonus points for download play

(The standalone release is disappointingly lackluster, not sure about the sequel)

I literally could not get Drum Dash controls to work for me. I like rhythm games usually, idk why I can’t succeed at this one

Definitely feels a touch on the generic side, but I genuinely had a blast start to finish and found myself glued to this Kirby more than any other since Super Star

As I grow closer to the end, I stand by my decision to not purchase Star Allies, Forgotten Land, or Dream Buffet (but maybe I’ll do demo impressions!)

All that���s left is Robobot! And I already basically beat half the game within the last couple years so I plan to just pick up where I left off. And I do need to duck my head into Rainbow Curse, but I’ve seen it before and I know I won’t want to beat it. Maybe on a second Kirby binge later!

The big questions is what to do after Robobot! There’s some comic books I wanna read, some Pc games I wanna stream, but then it’s on to the next series! No More Heroes is the top contender, but Pikmin and Wario Land are close competition. Donkey Kong would also like to have a word.

How in the modern au does King Dee Dee, Bandana Dee, Kirby, and Meta Knight function. Like how does their personalitys coexist and world work.

To be honest, I havent thought of that AU after that one text post I made lol. But thank u for reminding me about this!

The world in this AU is kinda like ours but, without all of the bad stuff lmao. Dreamland in this AU is a countryside-like place and everyone has there own houses and everything is in walking distance, Most of the people live farther out and thus they have bigger yards n'stuff (explains the plane crashing for kirby lol). While the others (mostly waddle dee's) live closer to the town with houses next to eachother and more close-knit. Everyone has some sort of job in this place, like with the Poppy Bros, they have some jobs out of town with demolition (not all though, just most!) to go with their game counterparts attack with bombs!

For how the star heros work in this AU, They are all adults (with kirby being the youngest) with their own houses n'stuff. Kirby knew Metaknight for whole before finaly taking to him while with King Dedede they kinda had bad vibes when they first knew eachother before the person they where both friends with, Bandana Dee, made them agree to not fight lol. Also King Dedede just goes by Dedede in this AU, since they aren't in a monarchy in this, and Dedede went to college for stuff aswell as Meta Knight (no clue for what tho, just a cool fact).

While with their adventures are either planned road trips or somthing crazy, like running all around town for someone's plane mechanics (Magolor--). But most of the time they try to take a road trip every summer, atleast to visit their friends in the town next to theirs, and either Dedede or Metaknight are always the driver when it comes to these trips.

As how the game mechanics are in this place? Well most of them aren't, like with what you said, aren't in this AU as commonly as the games. But for the most mechanics for Kirby are there, like with is copy ability & hover, but for their copy ability he has only ever done it with objects & not the local citizens lol. For the pegs in the ground, it's just not alot but there to hold stuff together, and the people with swords? Well they have a job aswell to protect the town! Kinda like police officers here lol.

headcanon dump below. they probably aren’t super original but I :)

I also just wanna mention a thought I had: I suspect we will b seeing morpho knight in a main game storyline in the next game, since he was gonna appear in the Kirby GCN (I assume this means they had quite a bit of lore and stuff to go with him so they’ve had him prepared for a while). also consider: Kirby RtD was the replacement. The next few games where meta knight is fought, he has yellow eyes. Basically my theory is that they didn’t want to have two characters with white eyes (probably so there wasn’t any conflicting lore idk) so they just went and changed meta knight’s because they deemed that the most plausible option. this also could actually serve as more proof of morpho being much more important to the lore of the series, even aside from his supposed appearances as a butterfly. I bet he is gonna have something to do with the warp star (concept for Kirby GCN was that dedede stole Kirby’s warp star so morpho was somehow involved) - Most puffballs only have one or two abilities, or can broaden magic use through one ability (eg galacta Knight’s attacks, for example, are all used through the base sword ability however aren’t limited to that). - Kirby is unique as he has the copy ability (which counts as one ability in itself rather than hundreds). it’s an almost legendary ability with no other recorded holders. Special baby boy.

- Although puffballs do have to consume a lot of food to deal with being partly composed of potent magic (as well as using it), Kirby has to consume sooo much more. he’s not a glutton (as the books describe), he is just hungry almost all of the time because he’s always beating the shit out of eldritch beings. The novels annoyed me so much with this aspect of Kirby!!!!!! he’s not that shallow!!! baby boy is just trying to physically cope with being able to slap the shit out of cult gods!!!

- Kirby’s copy ability works by basically inhaling an object/opponent with a specific magic signature, then concentrating it into a strengthened version of that ability Kirby can then utilise (hence his “infinite power”). - Kirby can’t deal with immense amounts of magic for a long period of time, as it also uses his own magic/energy up in the process. This is why normal copy abilities are fine for an extended period of time, and the super copy abilities have a time limit on them. (This is also why he can’t just go inhale void termina or some shit bc he would probably end up imploding. it’s also why the crash ability is single use)

- The super abilities basically involve Kirby combining a small amount of his own energy with the magic signature of the ability, and then concentrating it, producing a much stronger version of the original ability. Kirby probably ended up putting in a much larger amount of his own energy when trying to defeat magolor. (Ultra sword go brr)

- Puffballs eventually get wings at some stage in their life. They usually get them after a few hundred years but they can appear early if conditions are bad enough. Kirby’s will probably be feathered. I think the lore of the series will benefit from having two pink puffballs with feathered wings. pls also note the halberd mode robobot armour has softer looking wings, and the visor Kirby has on the star allies sparkler has little wings on the side of it.

- Meta Knight and king dedede did eventually get over their rivalry with Kirby. The events of KRtD were definitely a big part of it, and by the end of it they were probably pretty good friends. They both realised Kirby was way too strong for either of them to beat, and did have Dreamland’s interests in mind. Since Kirby is also only a kid they also felt compelled to act more adult-like, rather than trying to beat the shit out of a child.

- After the events of KRtD, king dedede basically invited Kirby, mk, and bandee to the castle for an overnight stay, since everyone was exhausted by the end of the ordeal. Although breakfast the following morning was tense at first, Dedede basically explained he wanted to formally end any rivalry he had with Kirby, and encouraged meta knight to do the same.Meta Knight still secretly wanted to beat Kirby at least once but the events of both planet robobot and star allies probably ruined it for him

- King dedede is actually a fairly competent leader, despite mainly just being a representative for dreamland as a whole. It did take him a while to grow into his role, but after he let go of his rivalry with Kirby he really settled in. He’s generally pretty placid on most days, and plays a lot of board games with the dees.King dedede invites bandee, Kirby, and mk for morning tea/lunch every now and then. The castle kitchen usually has to prepare at very least a day in advance to accomodate Kirby’s appetite.

- Kirby isn’t allowed more than 3 cups of tea or half a cup of weak coffee. the first time ddd ever invited Kirby for tea he did not consider how Kirby would respond to any amount of caffeine.

- Kirby is probably closest with mk, especially since Kirby knows mk looks very similar to him. He doesn’t ask mk about it though, as he sees that’s a very personal question.

- Mk acts as more of a very uninvolved father figure/mentor, mainly since Kirby is pretty independent and can defend himself.

- He regularly trains Kirby with the sword ability. Meta Knight used to originally do this to try and memorise Kirby’s attack patterns given that they may fight again in the future, but, as mentioned before, doesn’t do this anymore. He feels guilty about it.

-Meta Knight taught Kirby how to read. Kirby is a fairly proficient reader, although he likes to read cooking books the most because of all the pictures.

-Kirby is good at cooking, even without the copy ability.

- Meta Knight owns what could be considered a small library. Kirby is allowed to borrow a book or two for about a week at a time. He is forbidden from the horror section due to the one time where he accidentally chose a particularly scary one and wouldn’t leave castle dedede for a week.

-Kirby doesn’t speak in poyo. I don’t have much else to say on this. -Kirby can be a little shit on very rare occasions. Dedede tried to prank Kirby once by getting him to eat a very very spicy curry. Unbeknownst to dedede at the time, Kirby has a very high heat tolerance, and would probably have to eat something more than 1 million on the Scoville scale to actually feel distress. Kirby noticed that it was unusually hot, and that dedede was watching him intently. He pretended it wasn’t spicy at all, then persuaded dedede to try it.

-Dedede does not have a heat tolerance anywhere near as high as Kirby’s.

Finally going into detail about my “Kirby: Hero of the Stars” AU

Alright so “Hero of the Stars” is basically my idea for a Kirby anime reboot or something. Basically, it’s loosely based on the show and I picture it like a cartoon, and have come up with 100 “episodes” for it.

The basics of the AU is that Dark Matter (led by Zero), ever since it came into existence, has been after taking over the universe to spread suffering since suffering gives them power and they’re all about that crap (it helps them multiply and stuff and they’re all about the preservation of their species and whatnot, y’know?). But there’s this prophecy thing about a hero named Kirby who’d come to Ripple Star when it and most of the rest of the galaxy falls to ruin at Zero’s (metaphorical) hands and drive Dark Matter out, but no one knows where he’s developing (basically, it’s like the actual show where Kirby needed a lot of sleep to grow into a big strong boi), nor do they want to interrupt it because he’s the chosen one and they want things to go exactly as plan…

By “they,” I mean the people of Ripple Star who are about the only ones who know of the prophecy (and they aren’t really the most social with other stars so yeah it’s fairly exclusive to their community).

One day, Dark Matter came to Pop Star, more specifically Dream Land. It was a small portion/army of Dark Matter, led by the one from Dream Land 2, Dark Matter Blade (aka Dark Matter Swordsman). And he kinda wrecked the (self-proclaimed) king, King Dedede, who had tried to protect his people (and himself… possibly mostly himself), and DM Blade (I’m calling him that for short now-) possessed him because Dream Land 2 and also so people wouldn’t be willing to fight back (...because he didn’t know that Dedede mostly had a rough reputation with people because he’s still Dedede so he’s still Dream Land’s egotistical self-proclaimed king, even if he has a heart of gold under there).  Most people didn’t care about the possibility of harming their king, and were mainly just afraid of Dark Matter’s immense power since anyone who WAS brave enough to go up to Castle Dedede to challenge him… kinda never came back.

Most people gave up hope at this point as Dark Matter did his best to choke all the fun and happiness out of the land that he could (so, for example, no one was allowed to travel in or out of anywhere in Dream Land, so no visiting loved ones if they lived far away). However, since he had the entirety of Dream Land to take suck the joy out of and Zero didn’t send too many people for what was just supposed to be the START of the Pop Star invasion (Zero takes his time ok-), so the people still managed to get some fun in there somewhere… though they had to be careful about it.

This brings us to an original town made for this “show:” Star Town, the town located next to Castle Dedede (and is basically the Cappy Town of this AU), around the outside of Fruity Forest. It’s located next to another original location, Nova’s Crater, where the clockwork star Nova itself crashed long before even the town’s founding. Nova is basically the “star” of the town (haha pun-), ‘cus it can grant wishes. The town holds a festival every so often (I think I chose every few months??? IDK, can’t remember) where one person is given the opportunity to make a wish (they try to keep things under control so only one person gets to make a wish per festival, and once someone makes a wish that person is not allowed to make one ever again so they have to make it count). Dark Matter had been trying to stamp the celebration out (basically, you need that good Star Energy stuff [IDK I think Marx mentions something like that in Milky Way Wishes????] and in this show you basically get that from enthusiasm and determination and stuff and no one really had any of that anymore), so no one was really excited for things anymore, and didn’t get to celebrate it anymore.

...however, one day…

Local children Adeleine and Marx (yeah, I used these two as basically the Tiff and Tuff of the show [though don’t worry I didn't try to make them siblings here, just friends) (yeah Marx is good here. Look, the anime morality-flipped a ton of characters, I get to do it too) finally get sick of things and rally up the town to take their lives back when they finally get to a day where they celebrate the festival that DIDN’T fall on one of the days when Dark Matter checked up on their town.

Adeleine decided to give up her own wish opportunity in order to at least TRY to wish for SOMEONE who could help (since they had tried to wish that Dark Matter would just disappear before and it… yeah it didn’t work). However, it didn’t seem to work… or at least not instantly. Most people were disappointed, but Adeleine still had hope. She didn’t want to give up.

And oh wow, guess what happened the next day?

Yup, a very certain pink puffball came crashing into the land on a Warp Star.

...except he didn’t seem to know his own name and had the speaking capabilities of a toddler or really young child, and generally just spoke in a few words without really “connecting” them. Don’t worry, Marx chose a name for him.

And yup, it was Kirby.

Though basically no one believed that THIS cute bapy was the hero, Adeleine had faith and Marx went along with his best buddy.

Another person onboard with this was none other than Bandana Waddle Dee, who had fled the castle because he couldn’t bear to serve under Dark Matter instead of his ACTUAL great king, and he had been training over time to become strong enough to hopefully fight Dark Matter off and save Dedede… though he was also really just afraid of having to fight him.

After getting the new visitor some food (courtesy of Kawasaki’s) (and yes, Kirby almost destroyed the place with the power of s u c k ) and trying to see his capabilities in combat (which… he wasn’t in the mood to fight at the moment, so-), they didn’t really know what they were gonna do with this living cake pop. Was he really the hero? Well, Adeleine was still certain.

Looking for a weapon or something for Kirby, the three end up begging to local foreign shopkeeper Magolor for help, and they eventually manage to convince him (after a LOT of begging) to let Kirby have an item… at a discount (he’s still Magolor, after all). Kirby ends up being most attracted to a little wand (guess which ability-) and they go with it.

Yeah spoiler alert Ado saves it for the inevitable fight against Dark Matter possessing Dedede and yeets it to him as he and Bandee fight ‘cus Ado and Marx are defenseless children and Beam Kirby happens and strong baby beats darkness swordsman. Dark Matter flees the land after this after realizing “oh crap the chosen one came early and is real” and yeah the day is saved and Kirby is hailed as a hero (after Dedede gets over laughing at how he was just rescued by a pink stress ball).

Someday I’m gonna make a list of “episodes,” but I know that for now I wanna note one particular thing:

Revenge of Meta Knight, as that gets “adapted in this ‘show”

So basically Meta Knight was mysteriously absent in-universe during the invasion (well, he went missing before that, and told everyone he was working on an important project), along with his team, the Meta-Knights, plus Sword Knight, Blade Knight, Captain Vul, and Sailor Waddle Dee.

Yeah so not even his best bud Dedede (totally not boyfriend guys I swear *blatant sarcasm*) knows where he is.

But conveniently he comes back like right after the Dark Matter invasion and talks about how he heard about it and was concerned, and Dedede ends up explaining the things that happened, but then Meta Knight just acts… off and seems to be in a hurry to get out of the place (well, he seems very interested in interacting with Kirby [yeah take three guesses why- [spoiler alert: it’s ‘cus species-). He also doesn’t give many details on what’s been going on with him and his team either. Adeleine is like “Meta sus” and follows him when he leaves (something which saddens Dedede because tooooooootally not in love I swear guys-), and then she ends up finding out that he’s just kinda been tearing himself up about not being able to protect his king (oh yeah and the rest of Dream Land but I will keep making this joke until everyone is sick of it including myself-) and I’ll just say it here: Meta in this AU gets kinda… unstable sometimes (I guess it’s kinda a downplayed version of the “Always Chaotic Evil” trope??? Ok look I’ll explain later when I get into the stuff about Galacta Knight). So, he ends up taking things out on Dedede and the rest of Dream Land and vows to take it over, so Adeleine kinda panics and rushes back to tell everyone about the upcoming invasion with the flying battleship Meta Knight has now, the Halberd (yup, that’s what he was working on for all that time).

Ok, while I haven’t thought of every single little detail, I know I picture that the “main cast” group (so Ado, Marx, Kirby, Bandee, and Dedede) ended up getting on the Halberd and having to face off against Meta Knight’s crew, and eventually Meta Knight himself. Meta Knight specifically is interested in fighting Kirby, so he does and actually manages to trip up the baby, but then Dedede begs him to NOT commit child murder and to instead fight/kill HIM instead (because Dedede has that heart of gold down there), so Meta Knight’s like “ok but I’m gonna keep him as part of my team now ‘cus reasons ok I don’t feel like explaining” (he is secretive… and doesn’t want to talk about his cute face in front of people [Dedede knows already but Ado and Marx and Bandee don’t). But when he’s about to just fricking kill Dedede and his crew restrains Bandee from being able to do anything (and also have to hold back Ado and Marx because they don't really know how to fight [...yet] but Marx is willing to bite people-), Kirby just finally musters up the energy to just surprise-attack Meta Knight and nab Galaxia from his hands, and Meta’s about willing to fight to the death but eventually his own fricking crew just finally realizes, despite how they’re all extreme Meta fanboys, that Meta’s going a bit too far at this point because he’s willing to get himself killed just to not have to surrender. They end up convincing him to calm down and then cute group hug or something and Meta joins the main cast after thoroughly apologizing to Dedede and the rest of the group (Dedede forgives him, don’t worry).

When Dedede woke, Meta Knight was gone. Slowly, the self-proclaimed king of Dreamland sat upright and rubbed a paw across his eyes. He stifled a yawn and looked around. The fire was still lit, and its warm glow cast shadows over Susie and Kirby, both asleep beneath blankets. Dedede closed his eyes and listened for a second to the soft roar of the nearby ocean. It was no mystery where Meta Knight had gone.

Dedede quietly walked through the sand and to the ocean. A flash of gold split the darkness, Meta Knight looking to see who was approaching him. Seeing Dedede, the knight’s eyes softened, and he turned back to the ocean.

Once Dedede reached Meta Knight, the king stood silently for a moment. 

“You should rest,” Meta Knight said. “It isn’t your turn for watch. Haltmann is next.”

“I know, but when I got up, my most favoritest knight was gone. You okay, sugar dumpling?”

“Fine.”

“Take yer mask off.”

Meta Knight flinched. “I…” he trailed off. “She might see.”

“Susie is sleepin’. She ain’t gonna get up just to come over here.”

Meta Knight slowly raised his paws to his face and removed the mask. Without his armor, Meta Knight looked softer and more vulnerable. Dedede brushed his thumb over one of Meta Knight’s blush-marks. “You upset ‘cause of what happened?” Dedede asked.

Meta Knight’s paws fidgeted with the edges of his mask. He nodded sharply. “I just–I don’t like feeling weak, but I can’t help it. Not when I’m…” he trailed off.

The pengu king sat and extended an arm. Indecision flickered across Meta Knight’s face, but he eventually moved into Dedede’s embrace. “You ain’t weak,” Dedede replied, squeezing the puffball at his side.

“But–“

“All o’ us fell to the Jamba Heart. That ain’t nothin’ to be ashamed of, little knight.”

“I’m not a knight. A knight would protect his liege.”

Dedede sighed. “But y’do protect me,” he said.

Meta Knight shook his head.

“You look after my heart, Meta. You make me happy. Protectin’ someone ain’t jus’ goin’ out and fighting for ‘em. Y’know when we’re at peace, you ain’t fightin’ no one. That don’t make you less of a knight.”

“You have too much faith in me.”

“Naw, you ain’t got enough in yourself,” Dedede replied, rubbing his cheek against the top of Meta Knight’s head.

Meta Knight smiled. “Thank you,” he said.

“Any time, doll-face,” Dedede replied. “I cain’t wait till this all done, an’ we get to go home and snuggle good and proper.”

“Your Majesty.”

“Under ‘bout three blankets,” Dedede continued.

Meta Knight rolled his eyes and rubbed his cheek against Dedede’s royal robes. “Four,” he said. “At least.”

Dedede grinned. “Four. At least.”

Was feeling nostalgic way late at night

Guys. Do you. Have any idea. How lucky you are. That the person running this account is 20 year old experienced-artist me, and not 12 year old Meta-Knight-is-my-first-crush me? 

I do consider myself lucky for how things played out for me in life so that I probably haven’t had to cringe at old-public-things-on-the-internet stuff as a lot of people like me, more so than anything I am glad to have always been able to stay out of big drama. 

Anyway, when I was in middle school, there was a period of time when I was obsessed with Meta Knight. I mean obsessed. Autism hyperfixation mode cranked up on high. Of course I did have a few Kirby games at that age, but more importantly... there was Kirby: Right Back Atchya and Hoshi No Kaabii. It’s kinda weird how I remember after my parents divorced when I was 9, my dad gave my sis and I a gamecube + LoZ: TP and SSBM, and SSBM was kinda my introduction to Nintendo. Anyway, cut to some day idk when, but my sis and I were hanging out with our two next-in-age cousins, and watching TV on the 4Kids channel. Suddenly, it says that Kirby is up next. My sis and I were actually supposed to leave earlier, but I begged mom to let me watch Kirby, because even though I still hardly knew Kirb at this point in my life, it was a video game character I recognized and there was apparently a cartoon about him, so I had to see it. I didn’t have any context for hardly any of the characters, but I watched the whole episode and I think I probably found it fascinating. It was the episode about Meta Knight’s sword. It actually became one of my favorite episodes when I got into the show... because all the episodes with good Meta Knight shit were my favorite because I was a weird round knight stalker. 

Hnnnn my moods towards characters I like are a lot more... stable now I guess you could say, but naturally I still get hyperfixations, and once you love something you tend to carry it with ya always. There is always a little piece of my “Mety Muffin” I hold in my heart dearly. I consider Kirby an important artistic influence, along with this stupid manga that reigned in my brain for a while after the Meta Knight obsession calmed to a certain level, and “Peta” from MAR became my edgey jackass minor character who wears a stupid pointy hat and triforces fave boi. 

I think I had this kinda stuff on my mind because... uh... tbh I get really emotional and depressed and shit around m’ period. 

Anyway, in honor of Meta Knight, here are some of the things I found amusing from the show:

Smash Characters and people who main them

So, I was thinking about who mains certain Smash characters. Aaaand I got these ideas.

Mario: Probably Mickey Mouse. Or Emmet from the Lego Movie franchise idk

DK: Surely not King Kong because he has big hands and would break a Joy-Con just by touching it, not even a GameCube controller is safe. 100% Winston from Overwatch is the candidate, even better if he takes the blue DK skin lol

Link: Sora. This one is easy as hell.

Samus: Tony Stark is the first option that comes to mind.

Dark Samus: And since Rhodes can’t use Samus, might as well use the OTHER Samus lol

Yoshi: It is canonically stated in Deltarune that Asriel Dreemurr mains him and loves him to death.

Fox: I’m not sure how a red pirate fox animatronic holds a Joy-Con or two but probably Foxy from FNAF is the perfect main here.

Pikachu: It’s either Agumon or Jibanyan, too easy. Also put Jibanyan in Smash Sakurai pls

Luigi: Probably Donald Duck to parallel Mickey, the only difference between the two would be that Donald has a short temper while Luigi is a cowardly lion (and the plumber-sailor thing)

Ness: *MEGALOVANIA AND GAME THEORY INTRO INTENSIFIES* Ok jokes aside I think John Egbert and/or Sans are good candidates as Smash main.

Captain Falcon: Raphael, the red turtle from the Teena- wait why am I explaining an obvious character. His bros collectively main another character.

Jigglypuff: D.Va, full stop. She is a bunny person but may also love a Jigglypuff (now I want a drawing of Hana hugging the Puff help me)

Peach: Sooo, let’s see...Mickey has Mario... Donald has Luigi... I think you know where I’m going with this one.

Daisy: OH GOD I JUST REALIZED THAT DAISY DUCK MAINS PRINCESS DAISY, IT’S A “HI I’M-DAISY-CEPTION!”
