Owning our midlife hill means embracing changes… Today I decided to be part of @refigured_project where I met with @john_mollura and told my heart story while he photographed I and my zipper. For many years it was an “image wound” and slowly but surely it became a birthmark. After 14 years, my zipper is no longer a scar, it is intrinsically part of who I am. I have no shame in showing it and I hope, doing so, it will help other women to to take ownership of their hill by embracing the changes that came with life. Embracing my zipper is only one of the many changes I embraced to own my hill. Today I needed to really tap into the right side of my brain. As I learned @fashion_feng_shui, the fluidity and asymmetry of a hemline incorporates water in my way of dressing bringing me the creative state of mind. And it did! Stripes, dots, black and white are far from my color palette, but somehow, combined with the dress style, it gives me a great feeling when wearing it. I feel modern and a bit edgy. Cut off jeans shorts is a piece of clothing that I would never spend money on. So, I made my own from a damaged pair of @levis. I cut just above my knees, fringed the edges evenly ( I need to keep the level of refinement😊) and personalized by embroidering a floral motive. Two trends in one piece and in my own way. As you can see, I wore with espadrilles. They made my cut offs looks more grownup. A must when you are no longer on your 30s. I love this time of the year. I love to see the leaves changing, and enjoy curating my closet before putting my spring/summer pieces to hibernate. Some pieces, as my linen pieces I wore for one last time, will go to the cleaners and then to hibernation. Others, the ones that no longer resonate with me, will go to my @poshmark closet or @goodwillde. Around April next year, when bringing them out from hibernation, with fresh eyes, I will revisit them once again and decided if some need to move to someone else’s closet. If we attach feelings to everything we wear, we end up with a large closet and yet feeling that we have nothing to wear. What is your closet curate pattern? Have you ever been to the Style Time Tunnel? I did today… 
I missed my daughters so I got the old photo albums to see them as babies. 
Doing that, I had a “Time Tunnel” experience. What a journey… 
The Time Tunnel took me back to the years where I really had no idea of who I was, and it was reflected on the way I dressed. I found myself wearing pinks, baby blues, yellows, blacks and bright aquas. Everything but the colors I love so much today. In terms of clothing style, it was clear I felt very uncomfortable with the body I had. I dressed as an old lady although in this photo I was only 24. I didn’t grew up with a style role model to follow so I tried a bit of everything and never felt right. 
Becoming an image consultant was the pivotal moment in my life to arrive where I am today. That’s why I am so passionate about my work helping women on their style journey. 
My advice to those feeling and looking like me at 24 is to not give up.
