Deputy Commander Sloane
Almost 2-hour cool down sketch. Feels nice drawing action poses again but wish I could spend more time tightening the inks/colors.

Blatantly unfair that Sloane is allowed to be caked up while our Titans are flatter than my floor.

To give my Destiny followers an impression of how fucked up and silly-weird I am, here’s my list of Destiny ships:
Mara Sov/Petra Venj/Sjur Eido (Could you even imagine)
Mara Sov/Savathun (Hating and bickering)
Sloane:Xivu Arath (Same as above but with more hatefucking)
Saint-14/Osiris (Obviously. Like c’mon. They’re adorable)
Ikora Rey/Eris Morn (Shadowkeep was the last expansion I played for years so I hate to fester and thrive off of the “Look out for her, Guardian” cutscene)
Young Wolf/Exo Stranger (It would be so cool to be true…..)
Mithrax/Variks (Just think about it, lol. Mostly think about this so I can imagine Variks’ voice in my head tbh tho. So sillay.)
Ghaul/The Speaker (Hey remember these two lmao)

Destinytober Day 14: Last Call
Submission for Day 14 of the #destinytober #destinytober23 challenge.
Title: Last Call Summary: A light drizzle fell upon the Last City, on a very late, cold, and dreary night; the mood inside Rehnpeir’s Drunken Noodle bar was anything but.

Destiny 2 FanLore: A friend of a friend
I'm very surprised we didn't get any interactions between Sloane and Mithrax this season, especially since we first met them both on Titan! So I figured, "whelp, I guess I can try it on my own then". I think it's okay, the premise is neat, but I didn't write all that much about it. I hope you guys at least enjoy it!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The friend of my friend is not my enemy
Mithrax stood quietly in the hanger, watching over the space that Amanda Holliday once occupied. He imagined the sounds of gears being turned, welding being done, and the occasional swear when something went haywire. Now, all that replaced it was the sound of passing by ships, Niik who was tweaking her sparrow, and the distant voice of Saint-14 who was in a deep conversation with Osiris about recent revelations on Titan.
Mithrax took a seat on the steps leading up to her work area and thought about all the people they saved together. They had been able to save both Eliksni and Human from the Shadow Legion together, but in the end, he was unable to save his friend. A cruel twist of fate, in what seemed to be a cruel world.
Mithrax was so wrapped up in his own thoughts, that he hadn’t noticed the footsteps approaching as another figure paused and stood, watching over the same area Amanda once inhabited. Eventually however, the figure spoke, causing Mithrax to raise his head, “Mind if I sit here?”
He looked up, and saw Deputy Commander Sloane standing over him gesturing to the space on the stairs next to him. He nodded, and the Deputy sat. Mithrax could feel the darkness energy coming off of her, but his time rescuing civilians in the pyramids had made him used to the feeling. They both sat for a moment in contemplation.
“How’d you know her?”, Sloane spoke up and looked towards Mithrax.
He considered the question before turning back to her, “She and I would come to each other for advice, guidance, and when the time came, we rescued many in our time together. Even when it meant risking our own lives too.”
Sloane nodded and gave the glimpse of a brief smile, “Well I guess she didn’t change much while I was gone. Back during the Red War, and some time after that, she and I came to each other often, looking for advice. Not just about logistics, but personal advice. Not to mention that whenever some supplies needed to be run, or if someone was in trouble, she would always be the first in the cockpit to go help them.”
“That was just the type of person she was,” Mithrax replied, “someone always eager to help out someone in need, no matter the cost.”
Sloane smiled before standing up, “At very least, there seems to be more people like that everyday.” She turned and raised a hand to Mithrax, “To a better tomorrow, for those we’ve lost.”
Mithrax stood and took her hand in a firm shake, “To a better tomorrow.”
Sloane began walking off, before turning, “Oh, and I know this is long overdue, but thanks for giving us that reactor on Titan.”
Mitharx slightly laughed through his mandibles, “As long as it helped a friend, it was worth it.”

Season of the Deep - Finale 'The Witch Queen must rise.'

Note
Two predictions:
1) Season 22 will be named Season of the Witch
2) When Zavala dies or retires, Sloane will replace him as Titan Commander (Ikora as Vanguard Commander)
Oh Season of the Witch is a good name. Might be, or something close. Depending on what the season will actually do as far as the plot goes.
I'm not sure if they'll get rid of Zavala soon, but if it does happen, yeah I can see Sloane taking his spot. It would be really cool. Really loved Saint's long commentary this season about how Sloane basically invented the role of the Deputy Commander and how she took up his job when he neglected it:

With Season Of The Deep a few days away, the pre-release information and the plot leading up to it has me thinking. A few threads in particular make me very curious:
>The sheer stress shitstorm that's happened to poor Zavala the past few months.
>The return of Deputy Vanguard Commander Sloane.
>The unfortunate passing of Lance Reddick.
Zavala has been under a fuckton of stress, this is plain to see. To my eye the cracks really started to show in Witch Queen & Season 16/Risen, when the Traveler's gifts of Light to the Hive were revealed, and a little later when the alliance with the Cabal Ascendancy was balanced on a knife-edge.
Later, in Season 17/Haunted, He had a rough damn time with the nightmares, dredging up old traumas and shaking his beliefs both in the Traveler, and himself more and more, referring to himself at one point as "A hollow man... leading others to die... for a silent god."
And now, with the Witness' incision into the Traveler, mortal folx getting snatched up by the Shadow Legion, and the death of someone who was like a daughter to him, personally I think Zavala is at the end of his tether, if not damn close.
Which is a perfect time to reintroduce Sloane.
Deputy Commander Sloane has been out of the picture since the end of Season 11/Arrivals. At the end of the season, she donned power armour and planned to go down fighting. That's the last we heard of her.
And now she's back! in our time of need! ...obviously semi-taken...
Personally, I'm thinking/hoping the seasonal storyline is, at least in part, about helping Sloane recover and return to the Vanguard, preferably taking over Zavala's position. Poor lad needs a rest.
Given the general theme of loss that Lightfall kicked off and Season 20/Defiance ran with tho... part of me is a little nervous for her. And that's not even starting on the long boy in the soup.
And lastly, the untimely passing of the man himself, Lance Reddick. A number of solutions have been tossed around for how to continue Zavala's storyline with his death, but personally I think the best one is this: Use Sloane's reintroduction, have her take over as Titan Vanguard/Vanguard Commander, and let Zavala retire in peace. I think that's for the best.
But that's just my two penneth. I'm just one player with an opinion.
(PS: I have not looked at any leaks, I will not look at any leaks. this is all my theorising & conjecture, a product of my own mind.)
