Kloktober 2023 Day 24: Novel or Game Crossover

Okay soooooooo there was originally gonna be a whole fan fic about this, and rest assured Witchklok is still be worked on, but unfortunately I ran into a few issues and couldn't get Chapter 1 done in time so my backup plan is these silly edits that might at the very least be a preview as to what's to come. Enjoy~!

And as a bonus I included an alt that fits the episode better and even tried my hand at translating it to Japanese (think I did mostly decent, but feel free to correct any mistakes I made). Might make a PS3 version soon, I found a screenshot editor for that.

Ive held the headcannon/theory of the metalocalypse being a cycle close to my heart for a while, so I wanted to make a post of evidence of why this may be the case. Its a bit long, so here it is under a read more

For a recap, this hc states that the Metalocalypse has happened before, and it will happen again in the future. The prophecy was less of a “real” prophecy and more of a historical account of what happened and what will happen again.

To get the obvious out of the way, the Death Clock is an actual object that counts down to the metalocalypse. It’s in the very nature of clocks to repeat over and over again.

Why would they make it circle shaped if it was just a one time event lol

Throughout the series we also see various historical depictions of dethklok, in wildly different times and places

There’s ancient Sumerian carvings, Yaneemango sculptures from an unknown time period, and paintings from the medieval period. And if you want to count them, there’s their ancient animal forms, which might just be a manifestation of their spirits rather than actual previous lives that they lived. But its still worth bringing up.

On to my second point:

In AOTD, we see a scene of the tribunal observing a demon fall through the doomstar’s portal and die. Vater Oorlag calls it “sister of the Krakish”

Which probably means that this demon is related to our good pal Musta-Krakish, and that Musta-Krakish is from whatever underworld that the Doomstar leads to.

However, in Dethtroll, they dont summon him from a portal. He’s already there in the lake, just asleep. Which means he likely came through the doomstar in a previous cycle. If only there were evidence this happened.. oh wait there is

Alongside the medieval-style murals, we see this depiction of what are obviously Klokateers battling Musta-krakish. This is inconsistent with Dethtroll, as there are no klokateers in that episode, and the only people who battle the troll are Dethklok. So clearly, this is a different battle in a different time. Which also means that the “Grandpas Guitars” are likely the instruments belonging to Dethklok’s previous incarnation.

Lastly, theres a lot of lyrics in plot-important songs referring to themes of the infinite and living multiple lives. Here’s a few I found

Rafael is the ex-vocalist of the band ASPHYXIA, which disbanded due to some beef between him and another member (that I might get into some other time).

His band was pretty popular in the early 2000s, but nowadays he's kind of a forgotten celebrity.

He's pretty good friends with Murderface, and he helps him out with Planet Piss the best he can even though he finds working with Murderface extremely difficult and annoying.

Also I imagine he was the one who called Murderface during the apology speech in Dethtroll (S1E4) :3

So in Dethtroll, the Tribunal says that supernatural events have been happening more as a result of Dethklok's power. They prove that trolls and unicorns exist in this universe (but not dragons, sorry Skwisgaar), but does anyone remember any other monsters or supernatural creatures that exist in the show?

Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil #4: “Temptasia” | September 24, 2007 - 12:15AM | S01E04

Fuuuck, dude… I hate this so much. 

I don’t want to even know that Burning Man exists. It just seems so awful and disgusting. To think! All those guys gathering in the desert, being gross, doing stuff and celebrating a culture that I specifically don’t care for! Can you imagine the audacity of some people?

This episode’s plot is basically Satan intercepts Jesus on the way to Burning Man attempting to tempt him with various things in order to completely sideline him. I guess it’s because if he doesn’t make it to Burning Man something bad happens? Lucy is at Burning Man, and so are the special priests. Satan repeatedly fails to tempt Jesus with various things, like brothels and home electronics. They have an hangout sesh in the desert where it’s basically Jon Benjamin and Jon Glaser doing some just-okay improv. I wonder if this episode had more plot or if it was designed to simply act as a container for their riffs. It’s slightly Home-Movies-esque, but nothing in this hit for me in particular. The entire strength of the episode is based on Satan and Jesus coming up with the idea of “smooshing” words together. It’s barely amusing, no offense to those guys. It feels like something in a BAD Home Movies episode.

So the idea of the show is that it’s very dark and dramatic but it’s undercut by Sguigglevision-style riffing, right? Is that the idea? Usually these episodes are needlessly jam-packed with plot, and there’s not really the same breathing room for that sort of thing. This episode has barely any plot, and in that sense maybe the show is stronger for it. But the problem for me is that it’s also seeming to pander to the Burning Man crowd. It feels like an unironic endorsement of Burning Man with sub-par drug humor attached to it.

Part of me wants to just be a get-along guy and shrug it off: different strokes, you know. I don’t have a moral issue with Burning Man. It’s just wildly embarrassing to be asked to explore what another person thinks is cool and find out it’s something you really REALLY don’t think is cool. That’s all.

So in short: this is one of the better episodes of the show. But I hate it probably the most. I hope that helps.
