Le quartet Marseillais de metal progressif / Rock alternatif, après un premier E.P 3 titres intitulé « Advanced » en 2019 présente « Diama »,son premier long format tenant lieu de refuge rayonnant et de trip sonique bouleversant tout à la fois, pour 54 Min 13 d'extase ascensionnelle.

SunBeam Overdrive nous fait voyager, son trip est une élévation, savant alliage de technicité que l'on constate mais qui ne se voit pas, d'une émotion feutrée toujours venu du fin fond pour s'élever, d'une chaleur enrobée de mille parfums et qui éclate de milles feux. Les compositions ne laissent pas tomber dans l'oubli la sainteté musicalité des profondeurs telluriques qui vit à l'intérieur de chacun.ne, car elle respire et marche dans un fracas sacré Luciférien, des abysses de Lovecraft, de contraste salvateur, poétique, sauvage, explorateur.

Composé de Tom Abrigan (Chant, Guitare),    Karim Arnaout (Chant), Laurent Duclou (Batterie) et de Bruno Morgana (Basse), enregistré et mixé par Tom Abrigan (chant, guitare), le mastering est de  Brett Caldas-Lima au Tower Studio (Devin Townsend Project, Megadeth, Cynic, Pain of Salvation, etc.), « Diama » démontre un opus mirifique, constellé de pépites incroyables. Les mélodies sont articulées dans la poésie d'Alice In Chains, Deftones et le Opeth des débuts, une sensibilité à fleur de peau, une puissance de feu à la douceur ineffable, et une profondeur de ton apportant une épaisse émotion, où se déploient des tonnes de spleen, de fièvre, de joutes soniques, de cris, d'extase. La densité des rythmiques et des breaks transportent l'ensemble des compositions au diapason de plusieurs atmosphères, les solos sont superbes, le chant s'accorde, s'accouple à toutes les densités proposées (clair, growl).

“Ce disque parle d'altitude, de voyage, d'aventure et d'énergie. Il est destiné à vous élever tout en vous faisant endurer la tempête à la fois à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de vous-même. Bien que n'étant pas conçu comme un concept album, Diama s'avère néanmoins être traversé en filigrane par une ligne cohérente, qui nous est apparue une fois l'album terminé. Cette ligne est celle des crêtes des sommets, plus précisément une notion d'ascension, d'élévation, extérieure comme intérieure. Sur le titre “Out Of Plato’s Cave”, le groupe développe : “Ce premier single est un titre très énergique aux accents djent et progressifs pour évoquer l'allégorie de la Caverne de Platon, décrivant à quel point il est difficile de détourner le regard des illusions qui nourrissent facilement notre esprit, de tenir bon quand tout le monde autour de soi pense que l'on est perdu, de chercher la lumière, l'élévation et la vérité, en ayant la force de garder les yeux et l'âme ouverts quand elle vous frappe."

LFO - LFO

LFO is the debut self-titled album of American pop group LFO. The album was released in 1999 spawning five singles released between 1998 to 2000. Two of those singles were top 10 hits in the US namely “Summer Girls” and “Girl On TV”. The album peaked #21 in the US achieving a platinum certification. According to Wikipedia, this album features many vocals from previous member Brian Gillis who left in 1999, especially a track called “Can’t Have You” which his lead vocals were left intact.

Original member Rich Cronin (front/center) died in 2010 after losing his battle with leukemia.

Devin Lima (center) arrived in the group in 1999 replacing original member Brian Gillis. Lima died in 2017 after losing his battle with adrenal cancer.

Brad Fischetti (center) is a founding member alongside with Rich Cronin (right) and Brian Gillis (not in the picture) and also the last surviving member of the group. He toured from 2019-2020 to keep the legacy of the group and honouring the memory of Rich and Devin.

Welcome to the Tournament of the hottest boy band members of the 80s/90s

It was inspired by all the tournaments pitting famous beautiful people versus famous beautiful people of specific eras and specific jobs. The polls should start on the 8th of April, leaving around two weeks for submissions. I’ve compiled a list already but you can submit other boys that aren’t on the list through a google form. Feel free to submit non english speaking boy bands.
