Now, that people are about to take a peek into my mind and how it unwinds, I wanna know what makes your gears turn as you try to figure out this life we live and this walk we walk as Christians? What do you often find yourself contemplating as a follower of Jesus? What are you unsure about? What are you convinced of? What are you learning? #asmymindunwinds #christiannonfiction #christianwriter #christianauthor #christianauthors #writerscorner #writerscommunityofinstagram #bookworm #dailydevotions #publishyourpassion #bookstagram #faith #liveitout #alwaysprocessing #bookalicious #devotionallife #lifeofdevotion (at Lake Stevens, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnJsdlfDF3Y/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xj8jxrky3fy1

Psalm 36:9 (NIV) "For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light." Being with God does not mean only having a LIFE... A life to live with Him. But with a LIGHT as well. It will be very hard for us to live and walk in the New Life God gave us if we will not have a light to guide us... We will just stumble if that happens. What is that light? The WORD of GOD. (Psalms 119:105) So here's the thing... In our walk with God... And we stumble or fail or fall to the schemes of the Devil... Let us check our WORD LIFE. We fail to see the trap cause we don't have the light. I challenge you: Develop a WORD Lifestyle. Devote yourself to hear and study and Bible. #DevotionalLIFE #LivingTheWORD #WordOfGOD

I remember the very first time that i started my devotion it was September 24 2016. Medyo nalate lang ng ilang araw after itopic sa akin ni nanay Arjuna Aguilar sa one to one namin and basic devotion, naalala ko pa nga e sobrang patay na patay ang devotion life ko noon nagdedevotion lang every time na may preaching sa church namin noon yun mismong preaching lang devotion ko base lang dun, o kaya yun our daily bread at yun mga devotional app na babasahin ko lang pagising ko.. pero mula ng malaman ko yun kung paano talaga magdevotion every morning excited ako at gustong gusto ko yun ginagagawa ko though minsan di ko sya nagagawa ng maaga pero ginagagawa ko naman yun "no devotion no breakfast" hehe sarap sa feeling e ang sa pakiramdam lalo na nun natapos at naubos yun notebook ko sa mga devotional notes ko di ako nanghinayang worth it yun medyo nagworry ako nun paubos na sabi ko paano na hehe pero ayun niregaluhan ako ng pinakamaganda kong nanay na si nanay jessy menjuna haha and ngayon nagagamit ko na sya, nakakatuwa nga kasi all through out ng devotion ko last year talagang laging tagos sa puso e.. tapos ngayon padeep sya ng padeep grabe lalo pa kong naencourage na magdevotion sa topic namin na lifestyle devotion noon mga nakaraan i shared with you a lot of scriptures which was my devotion since last year, and i will still be sharing my daily devotion with you guys and just like me na bless na bless at sarap na sarap sa pagbabad ng word ni God sana kayo din kasi dito nya matatagpuan ang mensahe ni God sa inyo 😉 always be excited for each morning kasi each morning meron bagong word na ibaba sa inyo ang Lord 😊 and the bible is your mirror kasi dun nyo matatagpuan ang identity nyo sa word ni God ☺ But Jesus told Him: "No! The Scriptures, say: "People do not live by bread alone, but every word that comes from the mouth of God!" Matthew 4:4 (NLT Version) Ngunit sumagot si Jesus: "Nasusulat: "Ang tao'y hindi lamang sa tinapay nabubuhay, kundi sa bawat salitang nagmumula sa bibig ng Diyos!" #1. Believing God Day by Day: Growing Your Faith All Year Long
Amazon Book Description: Among Beth Moore’s very best-selling books to date is Believing God, a powerful study of Isaiah 43 and Hebrews 11 that centers on one simple yet bold question: do you believe God or merely believe in Him? Moore explains how God’s plan is for the believer’s life to really work so all will know His promises are entirely true. When we begin to take God at His Word, the result is a fresh, contagious explosion of faith.
And now the enduring favorite is available in a convenient day-by-day reading format, reminding us time and again that God is bigger than we can imagine and faithful to be who He says He is, do what He says He can do, and help us be who He says we are. Believe it!
The Good: Short and easy to read, but packed with biblical uplifting and encouraging devotions. Great focus on the importance of developing faith. Great meaningful insights. Beth does a great job defining the bible verses day by day. The Bad: Some claim the devotions are too short, and Beth could go deeper on each topic.
#2. Wondrous Pursuit: Daily Encounters with an Almighty God
Amazon Devotional Description: In Wondrous Pursuit, author Jarrid Wilson walks with you through 30 days of intentionally chasing after God. Each day includes a Scripture passage, accompanied by reflection points and questions to help you go further, challenge you to think about a different aspect of your pursuit of God and to dive more deeply into his word. Along the way, learn how to build a continual, daily practice of looking for God and relying on his direction–after all, he is the most glorious goal, the most wondrous pursuit, we could possibly find.
The Good: A no-nonsense approach to worshiping and praising Jesus. Very easy to read. Jared does a great job of making this devotional feel more like a conversation than a book. The book includes great self-examination questions at the end of each devotional as well as room to write down responses. The Bad: The devotional parts of the book sometimes do not relate to the scripture posted at the beginning. We wish the author would explain the scriptures a little more thoroughly in each devotion.
#3. Praying God’s Word Day by Day
Amazon Devotional Description: With half a million copies in print, Praying God’s Word is author Beth Moore’s best-selling release to date. A landmark book among women and men, it continues to serve readers in “tearing down strongholds by captivating our minds with the knowledge of God” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
Now, the perennial favorite is available in a convenient day-by-day reading format as Beth encourages readers to seek the mind of Christ through fervent daily prayer directly from Scripture.
The Good: Simple and pure and refocuses you on what’s important. Does a great job of teaching the reader how to pray through God’s word. You will learn many verses and learn how to use them as your focus of prayer and thoughts throughout the day. The Bad: Some claim the devotions are a little too short and unpractical.
#4. Embraced: 100 Devotions to Know God Is Holding You Close
Amazon Devotional Description: Embraced is the beautiful new devotional from Lysa TerKeurst, the president of Proverbs 31 Ministries and the New York Times bestselling author of Uninvited, The Best Yes, Unglued, and Made to Crave. Embraced features 100 devotions that will resonate with women in all stages of life by giving them a godly perspective on the issues they face each day.
A real embrace indicates an intimate level of closeness. It’s not a high five or a casual handshake. The best kind of embrace is when someone we know deeply loves us flings their arms wide open and pulls us in close.
Our hearts were made for this kind of love and security but for many of us, we know more about the pain of heartbreak and fear than the unconditional love for which we were created. In Embraced, Lysa shares her own struggles, doubts, and heartbreaks while pointing to the Ultimate Embrace: God opening His arms wide on Calvary through Jesus so that He could pull us close for all of eternity. Welcoming us into the safety and hope of His grace and His love.
The Good: Terkeurst knows just what to say to reach the reader. Lovely read. The devotionals do not seem “dated” like most others. Terkeurst does an amazing job writing about her life’s experiences that she feels will help others on their journies. The Bad: Nothing said by reviewers
#5. Made to Crave Devotional: 60 Days to Craving God, Not Food
Amazon Devotional Description: Last year, author Lysa TerKeurst released the book Made to Crave, providing the Biblical answer to why people diet, regain the weight they lose and continue to find themselves stuck in this vicious cycle. Made to Crave helped thousands of people finally achieve victory in their weight loss journey. But, according to TerKeurst, “We need more than 19 chapters to stay motivated and on track. That’s why I wrote this daily devotional with 60 inspirational entries. There is plenty of new material not in the original book. Rest assured, I also included your favorite nuggets of wisdom from Made to Crave.” Just like the Made to Crave book, this Made to Crave Devotional is not a how-to get healthy book. It is the road to finding the lasting “want to” that extends far beyond the surface issues of weighing less and wanting to wear a smaller clothes size. Says TerKeurst: “There’s a spiritual battle going on. It’s real. And it’s amazing how perfectly the Bible gives us specific ways to find victory with our food struggles. “Even for girls who don’t crave carrots.”
The Good: If you struggle with food cravings, this is a must read! She reframes many of our perspectives on food, dieting, and healthy choices by pointing to scripture and being hilarious. The Bad: Some feel this book was a little too generalized and could go much deeper in areas.
#6. Just Like Jesus Devotional: A Thirty-Day Walk with the Savior
Amazon Devotional Description: Spend thirty intimate days with the Savior. Max Lucado invites you to spend thirty life-changing days with Jesus in this devotional, based on his bestseller, Just Like Jesus. Each day’s plan includes these four refreshing components: Thinking, Hearing, Reflecting, and Speaking. More than just a devotional–this is a month-long journey that brings you face-to-face with Jesus. Each day you’ll discover something new about your faith and about your Savior. More importantly, you’ll find yourself becoming more and more like Jesus.
The Good: Amazing personal devotional. Motivates you to become more like Christ by challenging, strengthening, encouraging, and examining your heart. The Bad: Nothing said by reviewers
#7. New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotional
Amazon Devotional Description: 365 Gospel-Centered Devotions for the Whole Year. Mornings can be tough. Sometimes, a hearty breakfast and strong cup of coffee just aren’t enough. Offering more than a rush of caffeine, best-selling author Paul David Tripp wants to energize you with the most potent encouragement imaginable: the gospel. Forget “behavior modification” or feel-good aphorisms. Tripp knows that what we really need is an encounter with the living God. Then we’ll be prepared to trust in God’s goodness, rely on his grace, and live for his glory each and every day.
The Good: Possibly the most useful and practical devotional on this list. A great read for every morning to remind yourself of God’s mercies and grace. Great biblical theology. The Bad: Sentences tend to run on and time and make understanding the point a little unclear.
#8. Taste and See: Savoring the Supremacy of God in All of Life: 125 Daily Meditations
Amazon Devotional Description: A Devotional Powerhouse!
This revision of the follow-up to the popular A Godward Life adds twenty fresh entries to the original 120 daily meditations that are solid meat and sweet milk from God’s Word. The new entries broach current and controversial subject matter, such as partial-birth abortion and gay marriage. Piper asks the hardest questions and finds wonderfully poignant but practical and applicable truths from the Bible. These 350 pages of substantive spiritual nourishment will brace readers’ minds with truth and nourish their hearts with God’s sovereign grace. Pastors and lay leaders particularly will appreciate the three indexes included. They don’t need to look any further to find a pertinent illustration or tidbit of inspiration!
The Good: If you want to go deep, then this devotional is for you. This book will go deep into things and cause you to be more intimate and draw closer to God than ever before. Honest, biblical, and saturated with scripture. The Bad: Nothing said by reviewers
#9.

Amazon Devotional Description: By Our Very Own Jennifer Ervig! This is a simple compilation of different articles or blogs I’ve written so far at JensMindUnwinds@tumblr, during my time as a ghost blogger, and elsewhere…all in a devotional format. It’s a good way for me to dip my toes into the authoring a book world and simultaneously develop my coaching skills by the questions I pose throughout. When answering the questions, please use a journal and really take some time. Pray, reflect, fight with God, scribble and repeat.
The Good: Jen is wonderfully and beautifully honest. She tells you like it is. A great read for carefully and intentionally easing us closer to our relationships with our Creator. This devotional is unique, and you will get your hands dirty! If you are passionate about growing your bible study disciplines, this is for you! The Bad: None (but you will get your hands dirty)!
#10. Awaken: 90 Days with the God who Speaks
Amazon Devotional Description: It all starts for Priscilla where it all starts for you.

These ninety devotions from the heart of a mom, wife, encourager, and friend will Awaken you each day with fresh insights gleaned from the Spirit of God. Ready to help you mine the treasures of Scripture and fortify you for the day ahead. This devotional is . . . a good choice.
The Good: Each devotion in Awaken starts with a Bible verse, then a reading, and ends with a Bible verse. Following each devotional are two lined pages entitled He Speaks to Me, where the reader is asked a question to reflect and think about through journaling. A unique and effective approach! The Bad: Nothing said by reviewers
#11. Unseen: The Prince Warriors 365 Devotional
Amazon Devotional Description: You are God’s warrior, and His armor is waiting for you. These 365 devotions from New York Times best-selling author Priscilla Shirer will give middle-grade readers daily power from God’s Word and grow them into warriors who use their spiritual armor daily. Each day’s strategy session is divided up into two sections: Reconnaissance (Recon) and Actionable Intelligence (Actionable Intel) to help readers recognize the enemy, build their defenses, and claim the victory God has planned for them.
The Good: Prepare to equip yourself with the armor of God! Perfectly geared towards pre-teens. It deals with a lot of issues and struggles all while pointing them to equip themselves with the armor of God. The Bad: This book is great for those who are new to the faith, but seems too basic for those who are searching for something deep and challenging.
#12. A Story For His Glory: A Twenty Day Devotional
Amazon Devotional Description: By Our Very Own Stevie H. Robertson
God sees you friend and He loves you deeply no matter your circumstances. Daily life can bring hope and joy . . . as well as heartache and disappointment. This devotional was written to encourage and uplift you even on your hardest days.
The Good: Encouraging and uplifting. Super true and purely written for His glory. The Lord truly speaks through Stevie in this easy to read 20 day devotional. The Bad: Nothing said by reviewers
We hope this was a helpful list for you as you choose your next devotional. Many women love devotionals because of their short but inspiring teachings. We know life gets so busy and a devotional can be just the reminder we need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. But again, never replace God’s Word completely by any book.

John 10:11
It is when he walks by night that he stumbles, for he has no light.
NIGHT- darkness, ignorance
STUMBLES- miss a step and fall or nearly fall; makes an error
LIGHT- spiritual awareness
So, when you walk by ignoring the word of the Lord that he misses a step and falls or nearly falls. It is in ignoring that he makes an error because he has no light or spiritual awareness.
Application:
I will not ignore the word.
I will walk with light.
I will live a devoted life.
I will be aware.
