I feel like what would have her flustered the most would be the intimacy of it all?

Preening is something that can be so personal and it implies vulnerability and trust, since he's visibly letting his guard down and showing he's comfortable around her, and as someone who's undoubtedly lethal and hesitates to trust even her own shadow, that would probably get to Beakley a lot more than she lets on.

(Dhampir!Scrooge anon again) Any headcanons about Scrooge and Beakley raising a non-dhampir Webby (she didn't get Scrooge's powers, adding to the believability that she's related to Beakley) like when she's really little or before the start of the series?

Depending on how much Scrooge has been around non-supernatural babies before, Beakley might have to sit him down shortly after bringing Webby for a lecture on things babies, specially the ones like her, CAN'T do. He ends up being a bit apprehensive around Webby at first since she's very small and fragile.

He's also the first one to reach her when she has a nightmare, heightened hearing + supernatural speed is a hard to beat combo. Ends up having to get some good ear plugs during the early months for when she's sick to retain part of his sanity though, her crying is LOUD.

The first time Beakley got Scrooge to hold baby Webby, she immediately went to poke the oddly pointy fangs and started giggling, to everyone's surprise.

There was a certain period of time since the moment she started crawling where Webby used to constantly try to drink blood because Scrooge always does it so it has to be edible and good right? Only for Beakley to immediately jump to get it away from her tiny hands every single time.

Considering the lack of contact with the outside world, Webby would probably assume some specific things Beakley and Scrooge share as the default XD

Superior strength? Enhanced reflexes? Sharp senses? Nothing out of the ordinary. Which is less than ideal when she starts going outside and meeting new people that get hurt easily with things she finds so harmless and regular.

Cue to Beakley's second round of "things regular people CAN'T do 101"

(Dhampir anon) I think Webby wearing false fangs that she had Beakley buy for her one Halloween to look like her Dhampa (dhampir-grandpa) Scrooge would be endearingly and terrifying to everyone. The boys would probably find her weird at first, a little girl who's like.. really trap savvy that lives with/was raided in part by their "creepy supernatural creature uncle"? That's terrifying

(Scrooge would be incredibly touched by it, I won't take constructive criticism. Webby goes running to show him and he's trying very hard not to tear up)

The boys would totally mistakenly assume she's some supernatural being too. Little girl way stronger than the average, who can manage herself around the place with such ease she seems merely a shadow, with long unnatural fangs and an apparent thrill for spilling the blood of her enemies? A vampire for sure. Although her granny seems probably human, so maybe she's actually a dhampir? Or a changeling?? Are there other creatures that would fit??? Huey definitely makes his research. When is it appropriate to ask someone whether they are a supernatural creature???? Should they sleep with some garlic just in case????? Would that be rude??????

It takes a while until someone brings up the topic, because to the old residents of the manor Webby wearing the fake fangs is something typical so they don't even think twice about it, and until then the boys keep trying to avoid doing stuff that would bother whatever creature they theorize she could be (they have an ongoing bet over it) only to be incredibly confused when Webby does it anyway without any inconvenience.

(Sea) I read your tags on the original Dhampir!Scrooge and oh my gods. Vampire hunter!Beakley/Dhampir!Scrooge gives so much angst and hurt/comfort and I love it

The AU itself can hold so much hurt/comfort and has so much angst potential already, and when I read more about dhampirs bc of it I went immediately like 7w7

Also, I've had Vampire hunter!Beakley in my sketchbook ever since the first time I knew about your AU, so the moment I got your ask I was immediately like "My time has come >:)"

(seas-storyarchive/the dhampir anon) Here's a weird au: the last name "Beakley" was an undercover name that Ludwig gave Bentina and Scrooge for a mission where they had to act as a couple. Bentina just "forgot" (didn't bother) to change it back afterwards

Whenever she gets asked about it, she brushes it off with some excuse, bc she's had so many surnames assigned from previous missions that if she were any lesser agent she herself would have forgotten them all ages ago. But this one has a nice ring to it, it sounds hers, and well, the fact that it has so many warm memories attached is surely a great bonus ;)

Thoughts on an AU in their SHUSH days where (dhampir) Scrooge is cold to the idea of romance because of Goldie's constant backstabbing and he's partnered with young Agent 22 who, over the course of their partnership, begins to melt his cold heart?

Also I live for supernatural creature x human that will not hesitate if they try to pull any funny business.

I feel like after years of partnership Scrooge would have a hard time remembering that 22 is still actually just a regular human being? he's just so used to her being strong and able to keep up and even outdo him in their missions that he doesn't even realize that she's actually quite fragile compared to supernatural beings.

Also bold of you to assume these two aren't mutually melting each other's heart over the course of the years, bc Beakley is NOT exactly thrilled at the start either. After they realize they've caught feelings they're both like "Oh, FUCK".

And not to go straight up to angst territory but I'm on the mood for it so... (tw blood mention):

Scrooge not truly remembering about humans' limits until he sees 22 trying to keep up a brave face but weak and dizzy bc injury/blood loss VS Beakley not realizing how actually dhampirs are not invincible at all until she finds Scrooge weak and powerless after being kept away from blood for way too long.

Followed by taking care of their partner and becoming even more protective after that.
