“I am always between two worlds, always in conflict. I would like sometimes to rest, to be at peace, to choose a nook, make a final choice, but I can't. Some nameless, undescribable fear and anxiety keeps me on the move. On certain evenings like this, I would like to feel whole. Only a half of me is sitting by the fire.”
— Anaïs Nin, from “The Diary of Anaïs Nin, Vol. 1: 1931-1934.”
my favorite lolita brand came to my home city!! i couldn’t be happier to see the new fall/winter 2024 collection, older iconic dresses and the designers that i admire and look up to so much. this was my first big event so i made a mini video diary capturing some moments. it was so special to see all of the amazing coords worn to the show and all of the usakumyas that were brought along. i’m so thankful for the opportunity, i hope baby will visit more in the future ♡
sometimes i feel so bad for chou-u like he be getting clingy because he just misses maomao meanwhile she's like whatever i need to go again and save this country again all just to support that overworked pretty boy who will not sleep until all problems big and small aren't resolved oof also i totally don't have feelings for him
a darling little dragon landed on my bed while i was away for the holidays!
his name is vanilla, he’s an adorable plush made by part time puppy 💞 i could not be happier with him omg.. he’s so so soft and amazing quality, perfect cuddle size, and his details are so precious ;v;
definitely going to be a comfort object for me, i’m happy i could get him as my end of year gift to myself for surviving so much that’s happened this year 🤧💗
On this day 151 years ago, 17-year-old George Tutin, an English law student, was feeling sick and stayed in bed until 10am.
We've been thoroughly enjoying paging through this newly acquired 1872 diary, which is completely filled out and contains a lot of observations about the weather. More interestingly, it also notes what he was up to academically and personally. Tutin took a lot of walks, spent most afternoons studying, translated and read Virgil, kept up with international affairs, trimmed sheep, and unfortunately seems to have gotten a lot of colds.

Being poorly I did not go to Thirsk but enjoyed the more inviting delights of bed till 10 o'clock.

A dull wet day, I got my watch-glass broken yesterday so I send it to get mended at Ripon by the postman.

Rather fine in the morning. In the afternoon a most terrible thunder storm took place as big as marble falling. We consequently did not get to Ripon Flower Show. Papa out in the evening after the storm. The Lords have made a mess of the Ballot Bill.
The Princess Diaries is a strange film franchise, because both films feature the same central heroine getting involved in a prominent romantic plotline, but the romances are with two different guys, and for the most part, it doesn't feel unsatisfying.
Like, yeah, it's odd that the relationship with Michael ends off-screen with zero emotional fallout, but people are still willing to accept both romances as acceptable stories with happy endings. Probably because a high school romance isn't necessarily expected to last a lifetime, and an adult seeking someone to marry is a very different type of love story. But it's still an odd set of stories, and I'm not sure I can think of another film franchise that pulls this off.
