Interesting to note that there's actually a similar line that exists, except one of the changes is instead of 恩客 (ēn kè "kind guest"), it's 君子 (jūn zǐ "gentleman"), and while I translated 恩客 literally as "kind guest" here (what each of the individual characters means), the word itself actually in the past, used to refer to "benefactors" - the customers whom prostitutes fell in love with

Motifs: a lamp with lqs as the flames (vague hint at what rnz always tells lqs) and rnz as the base (note the orientation and negative colours), swirls meant to mimic water as in the book, this door was slightly more strongly related to the river god

Arc 8: 扫晴娘 Rain Doll

Quote: 如果这样，明天还是阴沉下雨的话，我就砍掉你的头 If it's still gloomy and rainy tomorrow, I will chop off your head - the line to recite in this door in order to make it rain

Motifs: umbrellas in the corners, a window (there's this one beautifully framed scene in this arc where they both open the windows of their room at the same time) showing the iconic nanqiu umbrella scene (each of them coloured differently on purpose) vs. the outside of the window with the rain dolls and additional rain overlay layer

Arc 9: 箱妖 Box Demon

Quote: 别看那个箱子，看我 Don't look at that box, look at me - what lqs tells rnz when he gets "hypnotised" to open the box

Motifs: diamonds forming 3d boxes

Full list of scenes used since this gif moves too quickly: rnz waking up from his "hypnosis", rnz and lqs staring at each other after rnz returns from his "death", cyx turning around to look at lqs when they thought rnz was dead, cql being pulled into the box, juxtaposition of rnz (upright) and ybl (upside down) in front of the stained glass windows, one of the box people in the box rnz nearly opened when he was "hypnotised", rnz being full of shit in front of everyone else (as usual)

Arc 10: 无解 Insoluble

Quote: 二人去一人归 Two people go, one person returns - the hint that appears consistently for the 11th door

Motifs: kaleidoscope of the final scene before rnz walks away

I put the two final doors (百鬼夜行 "Night Parade of Hundreds of Ghosts" and the "real" "12th" door) together because I really like how the hint applies for both the 11th door as well as the ending of the show

I also used 无解 "unsolvable" (the original name of the final chapter in the novel) for the name of this arc because of how short and simple it is, but also how it just summarises the 意难平 (idrk how to translate this, but sort of like the bittersweet feelings, being unable to let go of the past) of this arc and the entire show. Just like how there was no way to solve the 11th door with a happy ending for both people (assuming only two people went in lol), there was no way to solve the 12th door and the entire game with a happy ending for both rnz and lqs

However, instead of translating 无解 as "unsolvable", I used "insoluble" instead as it sounds just a little more poetic and is more symmetrical, and also hints at how lqs's memories of and feelings for rnz, whether his whole experience was a dream or otherwise, never dissolved with time 🥲

after discussion with other trusted degenerates, it really comes down to what one considers the crux of bestiality. is it solely engaging in sexual acts with another species, or does it necessarily constitute a crime of morality? considering most societies equate the two (see Lev 18:23), there really isn’t a case for separating them.

but, for the sake of argument: if the former, then yes, BUT I’d argue only if crowley is in full or partial snake form. if the latter, we can assume that snake!crowley and naga!crowley both retain their ability to consent, and it therefore doesn’t hold up as a crime of morality.

weighing both of the above points in equal measure, I would say it is consensual bestiality. bestiality by nature of animal sexual organs being involved, but not morally reprehensible given that the ability to consent is retained.

potentially, all aziracrow is inherently consensual bestiality, as they are another species just taking up residence in a human (or serpentine) corporation. or would that just make them flesh and bone sex mecha? hmm.

I have... an idea. A theory?

Is it possible that Diluc may not have kicked Kaeya out at all? Or at least, not completely? If Kaeya weren't doing this as a form of self-punishment, then Kaeya may have gaslit himself on the idea that he was kicked out.

Several EN Kaeya dialogue had me confused for a while now (as well as odd dialogue or text boxes by EN Diluc, Elzer, and Adelinde)

For one, Diluc seemed genuinely confused by the "throw me out like trash" comment from Kaeya, and Diluc had no retort to Kaeya saying Dawn Winery is his home too ( in fact, Diluc had no qualms on letting Kaeya stay there for weeks back when Diluc was out on a fatui hunting spree).

It's weird for someone who supposedly kicked the other out act like that - all confused and silent. Usually, there would at least be a vocal protest.

Then we have Elzer and Adelinde.

Have you all noticed that Adelinde only addresses Kaeya as "Sir Kaeya" when they are discussing together? Adelinde straight up calls him "Master Kaeya" in front of Diluc. Elzer, in a letter to Diluc, also showed him repeatedly addressing Kaeya as "Master Kaeya". Does this mean that only Kaeya requested on his own volition to no longer be addressed as master by the staff? Diluc is clearly fine with it. With how great of a maid Adelinde is, it must be such a rare occasion to call Kaeya as a "sir" for her to often accidentally call him as master instead (at least once every time we hear her, she makes this error)

Could it be possible that Kaeya decided to put that distance himself? Clearly Kaeya had no qualms on lying about his eye to Diluc for a while (making Diluc think he was blinded). Who's to say that he didn't make the staff think that he was no longer allowed to stay at Dawn Winery (which would make leaving the place easier for him).

And the more tragic one, being that he may have gaslit himself to the idea of being kicked out, also sounds possible... especially if we think that he may currently be tricking himself that he has no real mission or true purpose to the Khaenri'ahn plot (or that he tricked himself for the longest time that he has a mission).

The others are probably just letting Kaeya continue to do so because calling him out on it might make him lash out or start getting defensive.

This actually paints a very different picture...

Matteo's struggles are futile. Dante has decided his life is in France and doesn't plan to live in America any soon and asks as the letter quotes:

“My mentor promised me a good career and a wonderful boutique in France, as I have slowly realized that Italy isn't for me and well, I don't think America will be either. So here I am, asking you selfishly to change our promise, and in short:

After the war is over, if you're still alive, come with me, come live in Paris.”

scenario one : Matteo unwillingly accepts the offer, he leaves once again without any warning and sails to France, living forever with his lover as Dante becomes a famous painter and Matteo his assistant to the work, he starts wood carving as a hobby until it becomes an actual job, living a beautiful unbothered life.

On the other side, Marinella is left behind in America, alone with her husband and moving to Virginia after the discovery, they live a modest yet happy life and have children, but she will never forgive her brother for leaving her behind again.

And so, the family shatters completely.

scenario two: Matteo doesn't accept, after all he went through, after everything he won't leave the country he fought for.

He stays with Marinella and her husband, living a decent life yet remaining alone, he tries to find a wife but never succeeds, when Marinella’s husband is away he takes care of the kids and manages to catch up with his sister again.

Yet, Dante lives his life alone, regretting his choice but not changing his objective, continuing to paint, he eventually gets married and finds a new muse.

Matteo eventually gets sick and dies, close to his sister, but never happy.

Was re-reading some of the MSQ quests, and it's almost astonishing how every single element in Dawntrail is repetitive.

One that is rarely discussed: do you remember all those "let's split and look for clues/talk with people" quests in DT MSQ? In all of them you go through several clicks, then the party gathers together, and... you get to read the same points again, as other characters repeat word for word what you just discovered a minute earlier. To the point that WoL doesn't have anything to add to the conversation and just nods to the final decision. And when there was some unique piece of info (like two Mamool Ja sidekicks during the cooking challenge), it's never brought up again - not in the conversation, nor further in the plot.

And don't get me wrong, I'm happy that Scions for once do something useful during group activities. But what was the point of making the player to go through several "find a person/spot" if it has no effect on the quest objective in the damn plot?

Where 2 years had changed so much and Sanji wanted something more than just fooling around but Zoro wanted to cut it off and focus on his training and dreams.

After reuniting Sabaody, Sanji contracts hanahaki disease. The only person who knew and who helped him cure the disease was Law. The situation had helped them get to know each other.

Sadly for Zoro he only realized who Sanji was to him during the incident in Zou. Even then it was already too late...

He's not petty. Definitely not. Petty is for small-minded insecure people. And Roronoa Zoro is not that kind of person. And even if he was that kind of person, he still wouldn't be petty for this kind of reason, because that would only mean he cares and it gets under his skin. Surely, it doesn't.

Sanji could feed whoever the hell he wants to. But still. Onigiri was his thing. Right?

He suddenly wish that the grim reaper had taken him after fighting King that day.

In front of everyone, He saw how Sanji cough to try and get everyone's attention as he slowly reached out for Law's hand caressing them lovingly as he made them intertwined. Law's face flushed. His free hand covering his mouth lazely, his face leaning on his left side looking away as if hiding his face, evidently embarrassed. Sanji brought their intertwined hands together to his face for a kiss.

Everyone looked over curiously.

While Zoro tried everything in his power to remain stoic. But does he really need to? When the moment he saw everything he felt his heart freeze. He couldn't do or say anything. He felt his throat constricting. He felt so insignificant before Sanji. Like how he and everyone didn't exist and it was only him and Law in this world.

Sanji chuckled for a bit as he looked embarrassed Law softly. And then looked over at everyone with a big grin on his face.

He said,

"Traffy and I started dating."

Loud happy sounds of cheering and clapping roared on the banquet room. Everyone was so happy. Happy for them. Happy for him.

Sanji smiled so brightly. Zoro had never seen that smile before... he had never seen him looked so happy before.

Zoro's stomach churned. It felt like something was stuck on him throat and he wanted to throw up.

But he didn't. He didn't want to ruin this for the cook. Especially after the fuck up shit his family did to him in Whole Cake Island.

So instead he brought his sake cup on his mouth gulping everything in one go. Hoping the cup would hide his face.

He feigned happiness. He wanted to be happy for him too but he'd be lying because he can't. He can't when it was because of another person who was making him this happy.

Thankfully, no one else thought he was acting indifferently. He never was big on showing emotions anyway.

He only held his cup up as a sign of salute. And smile a little. Even if it felt force.

Because it was. He wanted to go. Away from here.
