Guren..... god. He's So. I love him but from now on if you haven't read catastrophe you're not allowed to have a single opinion on him (except for you dear reyni u know the scoop)

But the fandom has, ideas about Guren, and none of them are good.

I have like. A whole 200 note meta on this, from like, 2 years ago, however I am not going to link it because it would spoil Everything

So anime onlys seem to see guren only as sexy dilf and nothing else which is like. God, Yes hes a father figure but he's also like. Not even a dilf he's literally 24 and conventially attractive he was Eight when Yuu was born like. Because of Catastrophe I can barely even see Guren as more than a kid. To the vampire reign cast, he seems like the older generation, but from his perspective he is absolutely rawdogging it and he has NO clue what he is doing and neither does anyone else his age, it is honestly a little sad because they're the elders now. There's literally no one else to guide these kids. They're all fucking DEAD. So basically what I'm trying to say is. Guren is seen as basically, tall handsome Bad Boy to the anime onlies and then seen as utterly irredeemable or like a shitty manipulator who's just puppeted around by Mahiru like. have you read the story like. hhhhh
