a slug fighting his dad in the body of a guy who's been dead in the walls for weeks

and their captain, who the slug was previously inhabiting, that is now slug-free and screaming in agony from a gut wound the slug had no pain receptors for.)

Gunnie has 2 PhDs, and a Master's in Biology

My theory is he conpleted his Master's before joining The Bad Call. I have a theory he applied to get a Doctorate in Biology, and was rejected- a first for him. That was the wakeup call for Gunnie that this wasn't what he wanted to do with life

I like to imagine all the flashbacks we get of Gunnie's life before joining The Red Hot were over the course of about 3 months

TBH even if Gunnie’s cyborg body doesn’t disable him in any way he still has SO much disability swag. It’s the having an accident and suddenly being a different type of person. It’s the everything being expensive now. It’s the way you have to work so much harder just to survive but you’re expected to hide. It’s about being a best friend to some and a paycheck waiting to happen for others. It’s about desperately needing help, and having people who can supply it, but knowing you can never ask them for it because they would use your vulnerability as an excuse to strip you of your agency. And most importantly. It is the being really hot
