The cut stems of Cornus (dogwood) and Salix (willow) cultivars are used to make decorative containers for a winter display. The wavy stems of Salix matsudana ‘Tortuosa’ (dragon’s claw willow, Peking willow, wiggerly willow) make a dramatic arrangement and are surrounded by a planting of Acorus gramineus 'Variegatus' (variegated slender sweet flag).

I absolutely ADORE the fact that May doesn't care about the huge bouquet her ex gave her, and instead takes the time to carefully put Oon's rose, which is small, and slightly crushed, in a beautiful vase, somewhere she goes everyday, first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening, and cherishes it like the most precious gift ! Because it is...And Oon will someday realize it, that money doesn't matter and that May loves everything she gives her because it's her !

we got some neat things at the market today. some house plants, naturally, but some other little nick knacks and things as well. my favorite is a domed shadowbox frame displaying a dried butterfly and flowers over some old, faded sheet music.

#it doesn't seem like it would be hard to make.#i wish i'd kept that dead cecropia moth i found like a year ago.#t.#(( I did not buy this 😔#but there were a few booths selling them #I find dead butterflies and moths from time to time on my hikes tho #(they dont have mouths abd live to fuck and die so like its a little sad they die #but it's just Nature and normal enough that finding them is more Neat than morbid idk )#idk I might have to consider adding a little plastic container to my hiking pack #just in case I find one I could use for a lil project #I feel like idk it would be more meaningful and make me feel better about displaying a dead bug if I found it myself #and knew it died out in nature and wasn't like farmed to be killed and sold on amazon or smth lol ))

Every day I am so polite and don't say things like "wow you have bad taste" to people who are just expressing their preferences

#those preferences suck. but like go off #“I dont like shows with self-contained episodes” oh so you aren't burnt out on shows that endlessly increase the hype #“I disliked [story] because [superficial reasons]” oh so you paid absolutely no attention to the immaculate subtext #“I don't really like stuff that longwinded” skill issue. “The main character was stupid” skill issue #“It's not that deep” SKILL ISSUE SKILL ISSUE SKILL ISSUE #and all of these are personal preferences and I am doing such a good job not telling people their personal preferences suck ass #“if I had to read/watch the stories you like I would end up on the news” <- sentences I do not say because I am so so polite #sorry. every day other people have opinions that contradict my own and I am insufferable about it inside my own mind #I think a large part of it is the lack of self-awareness #“I don't like the thing you like because it's boring and it sucks” <- I think you're stupid #“I don't like the thing you like because of my own complicated relationship with the themes and-#“-my preferences against [academic description which displays a deep understanding of the plot]”#<- I'm disagreeing with that person as I climb into their lap and kiss them thoroughly

#oddly tender #paced like a series of deep breaths #the inserts interest me because they look like they’re displays in a museum #the cream backing that’s slightly warm in hue #it’s the Arctic environment (ie what he loves) but it’s contained and taken out of context #displayed without comments #a really good performance too it’s so quiet and subtle the actor was fantastic #the terror #turns out it is actually as good as people say it is
