all these hullabaloo about the billionaire death capsule reminds of last year when a local (Mexican) entrepreneur suddenly died at her home, and it was all tragic and such until it was revealed how she died.

You see, this woman created a religious brand for kids based on the Virgin Mary, obviously to appeal to the more conservative people here, it's the tackiest shit you'll ever see, and for a while in the 2000's it was *inescapable*. It's called "Distroller", look it up.

Well, coming back to her sudden passing, she died when she fell off her couch. How so? Well, the tacky shit wasn't limited to her stupid Catholic brand; her home decor was extra as fuck, including a god-damned couch elevator.

Yeah, she had a couch that could lift itself to the second floor, for some reason. And, obviously, this is a couch elevator that lacked any safety measures, like seatbelts, or anything to break your fall in case you slip. Which she apparently did, although the version going around was that she fell asleep on the couch, it somehow got up in the air, and she fell head first from the second floor.

And yeah, the whole "don't make fun of this hilarious death" cycle happened as well, but come on. She fell from her elevator couch. Pretty sure the Virgin Mary received her with open arms after proselytizing for years.

ja'el's toy box: Distroller - alien baby dolls

Distroller(pronounced destroyer) is a Mexican toy company created by Amparo "Amparin" Serrano. These colourful, small dolls were first created in 2004 and were famous throughout the 2000s and 2010s. The Neonato line, which consisted of fetus-like alien dolls, was criticised for possibly being anti abortion. Amparin quickly disputed these claims. However, a character first debuted in 2019 called Mole D'Hoya, that was dark skinned and had a pet tick. Many interpreted this as a racist caricature. The dolls often came with accessories like beds, bottles, pacifiers, umbilical cords and incubators, which allowed children to pretend to take care of these alien babies.

I found these cute Chamoy y amiguis Teen Tokers dolls by Distroller. They are Chamoy, Berinaiz and Tinga. The quality of the materials is not the best, but they have a very cute design and they come with so many accessories to play with. And what's more, they are fully articulated. 🤩

Thrifted one of those little Distroller babies a while back, but unfortunately it was one of those cases where I upended the store looking for any of the other pieces of the set and came up empty handed.

However it's pretty cute snuggled into the Bratz egg chair.

So I've acquired a lot of alien/space dolls lately. I'm sort of grouping them together loosely in the display? Not sure I love that though. Maybe I just need. More shelves,,,

I've heard all of these and I personally am a fan of Christcariot. JeJu was something I made my friends cook up but it fits too and I've gotten accostumed to calling them that because it rolls off the tounge easier.

I can say I love seeing actual Jesus/Judas fanart on my timeline. It heals my gay little heart....

Branch: How did I create this song? Well, I guess I was just messing around in my bunker, or something humming to myself and thinking about a date that I was planning for me and Poppy. I began singing little bits of lyrics and I thought it sounded really good so I wrote them down and eventually pulled together a whole song

Poppy: Branchifer! You little heartthrob!

Branch: 😳 I- uh... It's your turn Poppy!

Poppy: Ooh! Sound of silence! That's a fun song! I'm not the original singer though, it's by a band called Distrolled! My dad sometimes sang it when I was growing up, it was a favourite of his! I sung it to Branch when we were travelling to Bergen Town because I though it was a fun song to match his request for silence!

Branch: Ha! I remember that!

Poppy: Yeah and then you threw my guitar into the fire!!

Branch: Oh yeah... I remember that, sorry Poppifer

Poppy: You're fine Branch, you got me a better guitar after!

Branch: Isn't that what we sang after our fight?

Poppy: Yep, well, Ayos53, that song was just I guess, us having so many emotions that we could only process our fight properly and everything else surrounding it through a song, or at least that's what I did

Branch: Yeah I was the same, there were so many things going though my head that I sang to try and make out what my head and heart were truly feeling. I had to admit to myself that I had well and truly fallen for Poppy and, from my perspective then, that we weren't "good for each other" which I know it not true!!!! I had to sing the song to think rationally and understand all my emotions, I still had hope for Poppy and me and that song kept it alive, even after a fight

(belajar) mencintai anak

Hari itu aku berkontak dengan seorang teman yang membagikan kelas dari doula dengan topik 'belajar mencintai anak' dengan harga yang menurutku cukup fantastis. Aku berbasa basi akan ikut tapi batinku menolak dan sedikit mencibir "kocak, yakali perlu belajar mencintai anak, mana bayar mahal lagi, mending uangnya buat yang lain 😂".

Tapi kemudian aku merenung dan berpikir gak ada salahnya malah bagus di Doula ini bikin kelas yang tidak semua menawarkan. Terkadang manusia itu tau cara/teorinya tapi dia butuh orang lain untuk mengingatkan. Dan tanpa disadari sebenarnya aku pun sedang dalam proses (belajar) mencintai anak, yangmana mungkin aku tidak sendirian dalam hal ini.

Bergabung di grup komunitas ibu-ibuk, bercerita dengan yang sudah terlebih dahulu memiliki anak. Ada fase dimana rasanya ingin menjauh dari anak, terlalu lelah, tapi tak bisa karena yang sumber kehidupan anak adalah orang tuanya. Aku pernah mendengar cerita teman yang baru lahiran bahkan lebih memilih melihat anak kucing daripada anaknya sendiri, dilain cerita ada ibu yang meninggalkan anaknya distroller dan dikunci digudang sampai nangisnya berhenti, dan diberita-berita banyak berita kekerasan dari yang soft sampai hard.

Menyeramkan, tapi terkadang aku bisa relate dengan kelelahan yang dialami orang tua hingga menjadi kalap. Aku terus berdoa kepada Allah agar tidak menjadi demikian, bantu aku ya allah dalam membesarkan Dea, ajarkan aku untuk mencintainya apapun, kapanpun, dimanapun, berapapun, bagaimanapun.

Di usia Dea ke-9 bulan ini aku terkadang masih sulit mentoleransi tangisnya yang tanpa sebab. Aku bisa sedikit ketus "aduuh dea apalagii" ketika sebenarnya banyak yang harus aku lakukan mulai dari bebersih diri hingga bebersih rumah tapi anaknya gak mau lepas dari gendongan dan meski papanya sudah berubah jadi badut tidak bergeming dari sisiku. Sejauh ini hal terekstrim yang kulakukan ada memoncongkan mulut deana, memaksanya untuk makan yang berujung kami berdua menangis.

Kakakku mengingatkanku "Ya bayikan bisanya cuman nangis, nanti kalau dia ngomong, dirimu shock lagi" kata-kata ini yang coba ku rapal dalam hati sembari menghela nafas ketika suara tangis Dea mulai terasa seperti bor yang menghujam otakku.

Suamiku mengingatkan ku "Dea sayangnya sama mama, merasa bisa paling apa adanya sama mamanya, dunia Dea ya mama" yang membuatku bersabar mengendongnya, menyusuinya walau berujung mengempeng tapi kami bisa bertukar pandangan.

Ada seorang dokter yang kemudian mengingatkanku "berhenti melihat anak sebagai angka, apresiasilah semua yang bisa dilakukan, karena dia lahir dari tidak bisa apa-apa" yang menjadi mantra tiap menyuapi Dea sehingga aku bukan lagi terfokus pada sisa makanan dipiring yang harus dihabiskan, tapi bagaimana dea bisa mengoper, mengunyah, memindahkan makanan, yang penting dea happy, sehat, kurva pertumbuhan sesuai.

Semua ibu itu pasti mencintai anaknya, cuman terkadang cinta itu banyak bentuk dan rupa, penuh lika-liku. Semoga para orang tua bisa terus (belajar) mencintai anaknya, mengekspresikannya dengan sempurna, sehingga cinta itu terus berkembang dan membentuk dunia yang lebih baik
