Do any fics make use of the fanon “asking a ghost how they died forces them to relive it” trope but for intentional harm?

Like, that’s a weakness.

It may be a dick move to exploit someone’s traumatic experience like that, but there’s plenty of people out there who don’t give a fuck.

Imagine a ghost hunter is fighting a ghost but is losing. So then they bring up the ghost’s death, and the ghost freaks out. True, the resulting lashing out might be dangerous, but the momentum of the fight was just shifted. That flailing is an opportunity.

Or a GIW agent enters a room full of ghosts for a “peace talk”, then drops the metaphorical landmine of forcing all the ghosts in attendance to erupt into chaos.

Or maybe a ghost does it. They really hate someone, so they bring it up just to spite them. They may end up hurting themself too, but as long as they hurt the other one more, they can accept that outcome.

Or for a DPxDC thing, imagine Constantine being cornered and then bringing up a ghost’s death to make an opening for him to escape. He is absolutely the type of bastard who’d do that.
