CATCHING LOVESTRUCK STARE FROM S/O

BUGGY —

Call it what you want, but Buggy’s eyes always seem to find you even in a crowd. Perhaps his eyes are always on you, ensuring your safety and presence. He’s usually the one to keep a brief stare, but this time, his eyes find yours already looking his way across the sea of people, making him stop in his tracks as he catches the look in your eyes; soft and full of tenderness. He’s amazed at your capability to make time stop, gravity seemingly nonexistent with just a look from you. How much time has passed? Are his feet even on the ground? He feels like he’s floating, swimming in your irises even from this distance, right through the countless people separating the two of you. They all seem to disappear, because you look at him like he’s the only person in this world, like he’s the only person for you. His body is buzzing, mind melting and heart thumping to beat right out of his chest because he can feel and see the love you have for him. A dizzying combination of exhilaration and terror overtakes him because he knows this is the same look he offers you when you catch him staring. All at once he knows, he’s helplessly in love with you and he can’t believe you feel the same.

SMOKER —

Smoker has a certain intuition when it comes to you, so he knows who the pair of eyes burning into his side belong to. What he isn’t expecting upon turning around to meet your gaze is the endearing look in your eyes and dopey smile on your face, head in your hands like staring off in a day dream. That look remains for a fraction of a second, long enough to embed in his mind, a permanent mental image of your eyes reflecting an unspeakable adoration that reveals love enough for a lifetime. You’re quick to turn away in embarrassment, trying your hardest to play it cool as you occupy yourself with something else, but little do you know, Smoker is struggling just as bad to regain his composure; feeling his neck, cheeks, and the tips of his ears burning red hot from the brief exchange. How can he possibly focus on his task now that his heart is racing, mind flooded with images of you looking at him like he holds your entire world? Are you aware that you hold his? A small smile tugs at his lips, and when he looks up, not missing your side-eyed glance, he hopes you can feel him look at you with just as much devotion.

SANJI —

Sanji is notorious for offering you longing, lovestruck stares, so being the one to catch you looking at him this time leaves him a bit disoriented. It’s nothing new for you to join Sanji in the kitchen, sitting at the table or along the counter as you watch him prepare breakfast for the crew in the early hours of the morning. What is new, is the way he can feel you staring, not at his hands as they chop at the ingredients, or the sizzling food in the pan; no, he feels your eyes on his side profile. Does he have something on his face? Looking across his shoulder to meet your stare, he feels his breath catch in his throat when he witnesses the look in your eyes, the look you don’t even try to hide. Eyes glimmering with endearment, like staring right into Sanji’s soul and loving what you see there; each twinkle of your eyes planting parts of you within him that make home so easily, as if these pieces of you were always meant to be with him. The heat in his cheeks only burns brighter when you smile, your eyes doing the same as you whisper a confession of love that’s both new and familiar, something he’ll never get used to nor get tired of hearing: “I just really love you, Sanji.”

Accidentally Falling Asleep with Law

It is with a huge back and head ache that you got back to your condo that evening. Work had been rough. The kind of day you need a whole week to recover from, except you don't have the time for that because you need to go back to work the next day.

At least, you were pleasantly greeted by the smell of a home cooked meal. Your roommate was home early.

"You're late," Law greeted from the kitchen.

"Yeah, well, I can redirect you to my boss if you want to complain about it."

You kicked your shoes off and walked in. Absentmindedly, you grabbed plates to put on the table when Law interrupted you:

"The table is already set. All you need to do is get your ass in a chair and I'll bring the pot over."

You did as obliged and right as you sat down, Law joined you.

"Thanks," you whispered.

He did not bother responding, instead serving you a scoop of [Y/F/D]. When he had filled his own plate, he sat down and you began chatting.

You talked about your crap day at work. He talked about his good day at work. You had to admit, more often than not, your roles were inverted. With Law working in a hospital, he had quite the amount of bad days.

"Wanna watch a movie?" he offered.

Since you did not respond right away, he added: "Your pick."

"[Y/F/F]," you replied, without a second thought.

Rolling his eyes, Law deadpanned: "Should've seen it coming."

Standing up, he started putting the dishes away.

"Go get the movie ready while I finish here," he ordered.

You had always liked the way you looked after each other on bad days.

By the time Law was done in the kitchen, you were sitting in the couch with the remote. When he plopped down next to you, you started the movie.

You stirred awake. Your neck was aching.

You peaked over your shoulder towards the nearest window.

It was still dark.

Suddenly, you became aware of a mass next to you. Rubbing the sleepiness out of your eyes, you realised you had fallen asleep against Law.

And he had fallen asleep against you.

You did not remember exactly when it had happened, but you were sure you had not seen the climax of the movie.

A smile graced your features. Not wanting to disturb Law, just like he had not disturbed you, you simply put your head back against him.

"I will never hear the end of this," you thought, right before falling back asleep.

💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?

Sanji being a sex offender creep & all the transphobic and homophobic centered jokes he was involved with. Without a blink, I am shamelessly writing him ooc in this one aspect and I refuse to change my mind here.

🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?

From a Law x f!Reader I am really struggling with, but I am determined to pull it to the finish. It's not even proof-read so, a warning for possible typos and style glitches:

Ignoring the unpleasantly cool air, you shake the comforter off and crawl closer, soon wrapping arms around him from behind and setting chin on his shoulder. Barely does he jerk, just a sharper inhale tells you that you’ve been spotted. “Sorry.” He mumbles, face still pressed tight between hands. “Woke you up?” “Been awake sometime.” You kiss the line of hair at the back of his neck. “And you weren’t asleep at all, am I right?” Quite a long time, filled with the natural, musky smell of his skin pressed to your nose, passes before Law finds any words, his reluctance to lie fighting against need to not worry you. “Could be worse.” He grabs one of your hands and kisses its palm, his lips dry and parched—then finally moves, but slowly, visibly fighting against exhaustion and urge to fall back into the warm bed. “You need rest,” you insist, trying to keep him in place, arms holding on him as tight as your barely awake muscles let you. “Please? At least until they call us back?” “What a few more hours of lying here will do, if I can’t—” His words snap into a hiss, but he bites his tongue and sighs, heavy, as if he threw a great weight off his chest. “Ugh. Fuck. Sorry.” You kiss your forgiveness along his neck. “Maybe I can…help you relax, at least?”

🦋 Which character is your favorite to write?

I think Sanji, even if he's erm far from my favorite character in canon? He just clicks so easily with many prompts. Katakuri is a nice victim too, I like breaking introverts with issues into vulnerability, hehe. Law for similar reasons, but I am very picky with requests for him, since he has very sharp edge and, imho, doesn't fit everywhere. Slowly reclaiming Zoro after fandom pushed him out of my sphere of comfort. Luffy is a great joy to work with but, again, I'm super picky with him cause he's tough to grasp.

🦈 Which character is the toughest to write?

Crocodile. I, frankly, see him as hard aromantic and his personality is a pain in the ass to work with in typical x y/n setting. Doflamingo, too. I enjoy writing Doffy when the topic hits the spot - but it rarely does :/

📚 Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?

My partner's in crime (@greenwitchtaimanslayer) Of Discordant Fists and Bloody Keys will change your mind on OCs if you, like me, don't particularly enjoy this kind of fiction. And I'm absolutely not mentioning it here so he'd move his ass and finish that new chapter or add that Renna x Y/N thingie :3

@heyitsdoe and her Doe's Spicy Ramen Shop is a must, if you're looking for some novelty in y/n fics. It's something completely different from majority of stuff I see around, and since it's a collection of one shots with different characters, I'm sure everyone will find something for themself.

@childofblackmaria and her dilf collection is also a must if you're looking for a mature approach to our favorite blorbos and not only. Lale's writing is like a safe harbor where you will return every time bad winds carry you to places you didn't wish to see.

I'm slowly chewing through @harudnae's portfolio and damn, they're one of those writers I will enjoy always, even if I don't particularly vibe with topic and/or characters. Sabo/Reader/Koala thingie just opened my eyes and I can't close them ever since.

For similar reasons, @doctorgerth never disappointed me with her fics. Won't link anything because I'd need to make a separate list for all fics I enjoyed. Coop is a classic in Y/N circles, if you're new here and you're not sure yet what's your flavor, take a look around her portfolio - everything will be a good, safe shot.

The fandom is packed with talented writers, there are many names that come to my mind but didn't have much time to read everything I wanted & memorize every nook enough to throw a recommendation. So please, don't be mad or disappointed at me, if I didn't include your name, even if we happen to interact T^T I'm a slow bun with everything lol

Does kink count as a trope? If it does, that's what my current writing obsession is. Yes, I'm horny on main & not ashamed of it :P

I am not sure if I am the right person to ask this, I have not been reading a lot of OP content lately, and about 90% of my mutuals have quit, gone on hiatus, switched fandoms or deactivated entirely since I came back from Hiatus. I know there are a bunch of "newer" (at least for me) names on the scene but I have not been able to check out the majority of them.

However, I do not want to leave you hanging entirely so I'll list some names that I know of below, I am sure you'll find more things in their interactions, reblogs and collabs! Keep in mind that some of these are multifandom like me and may or may not be actively writing for OP at this very moment. (And I believe some of them may he on hiatus atm) Also, not all of them are taking requests (at all or just for now), but I am not sure if that's anything you're up for. Finally, some of these do write NSFW things occasionally, please be mindful and check headers in case that's something you do not want to see. They all write SFW too!

how do i start writing fics/set up my blog for that?? i wanna write more nd open commisions but idk how to format or get started abd im a procrastinator

hi friend! I'm gonna be real... I'm still figuring it out lol. I've only been doing this for a couple months, but I can give you some pointers from my POV!

I can already tell this is going to be rambley so I'm going to put a little Read More thingy, sorry in advanced for some word vomit

probably the most important thing (because I have to tell myself this often): just go for it! and do what you want to do! it's not a race and no one has to do things consistently or do things the same way! writing should feel fun!

my approach has been to set things up slowly and only take on what I'm ready for. a lot of that comes from knowing that I am a VERY slow writer, I get easily overwhelmed, and sometimes creativity/energy doesn't come all the time. so I think if you just go for it and start writing fics that you really want, you'll start to figure out your own pace and where you want to go!

as far as setting up my blog, I took a lot of reoccurring things from other writers I follow as sort of a "best practice", but again I did that really slowly and as I got more comfortable with what I was doing. some writers who I think have awesome nav set-ups are @/hooliescorner, @/cyborg-franky, and @/doctorgerth

I find that opening yourself for requests goes better if you have some sort of Rules page set up. I don't feel like mine are super specific, mainly stating my boundaries for certain content and who/what I'm comfy writing for.

I have an AO3 that I like to plug on my posts and I plug my Tumblr on my AO3 posts. Not a requirement, I just like having my work exist somewhere else that's easier to view/bookmark.

I mentioned boundaries. SUPER important. you never have to take someone's request if you don't want to. you don't have to take requests at all if you're overwhelmed. you don't even have to write every day.

I keep a running google doc of requests and WIPs I'm working on. That way, I can visualize how much I have going on and be able to tell myself "hey, I should stop taking on new things for now".

I'm still on hiatus and given I've been kind of busy with parenting now I really haven't written that much lately, however, there has been some practice attempts! TAKING A BATH TOGETHER

SANJI —

You instinctively sink further under the water as someone barges into the bathroom, readying to warn them of your presence, but you instead smile warmly upon seeing your boyfriend at the door with a towel draped over his shoulder.

Truthfully, seeing you naked still has a nearly fatal effect on him. He’s good about distracting himself with training or naps when you are preoccupied but you are his girlfriend, so surely it’s not a crime to want to spend time with you. He takes advantage of any private moment he can get with you, most especially bath time, which is ultimately a win for you, because that means he’s bathing much more regularly. He gets a little pouty on the days you bathe without him, but that’s a confession you won’t hear anytime soon either.

Zoro is the one to slot himself between your legs, his back flush against your soft chest despite being considerably broader than you. You can reach the spots he always misses, and after one too many comments from you on how he doesn’t bathe properly, he settles for letting you take care of him. You don’t mind of course as it’s rather amusing to have your burly swordsman of a boyfriend relaxed against you as you work the shampoo through his green locks and scrub at those hard to reach spots at the middle of his back. He takes plenty care of you, so it’s nice to return the favor.

The two of you (mostly Zoro) can’t help but wonder why you hadn’t formed this habit earlier on. Especially as a private bath together proves beneficial for other things.
