"Pinecrest Winter Colors" Each time I head out on an adventure, I engage in a battle within my mind. All the usual questions; should I go alone, is it safe, why do you do this, did you pack everything, dress appropriately, bring survival gear, will it be worth it? At times this anxiety keeps me from pushing myself into unfamiliar places, keeps me from attaining my goals, keeps me from taking the calculated risks I need to take in order to grow. In 2018 I want to push myself to just get out there more often. After all isn't most of the challenge just showing up? ------------------------------------------------------ This shot was taken after one of the glorious snow storms of 2017. After skiing fresh powder all day at #dodgeridge, I fought the battle with my mind for the second time that day, and decided to go for a hike until the very last light disappeared. This scene made it all worth it. On the drive home, cold, tired, hungry...yet fulfilled. It was a dream day for me, and to think I almost decided to stay home and wait the storm out. ------------------------------------------------------- F11 - ISO100 - 30sec - 18mm two shot pano #sigma1835art #nikond5300
These two photos were taken on the last lift up and the last run down @dodgeridge on Sunday. After playing in the glorious powder all day, the sky lit up to bid us a beautiful farewell. Of course I wish I had my camera, but sometimes you just have to capture the moment with whatever you have. In this case a Note 8 in manual mode, captured the scene pretty well. An amazing first day of the season! #emformdesign #skiseason18-19 #localmountain #localphotographer #tuolumnecounty https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq7rp4_Apwk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=8znh9ntjyip4
