The "rich elites" thing is a distraction at best. It's much more about not realizing who your market is and then trying to capitalize on them on the worst possible time to try to see them a thing they don't want (or can't afford) in a time of rising income inequality and financial stress. It's a poor decision, pure and simple.

Pay artists fairly, absolutely, yes, all labor deserves to be compensated fairly, that's an underlying tenant of socialism, but usually it's in relation to bosses and the ruling rich, not other workers and poor college students.

I have no personal stake in this. I don't watch any content from Watcher. I never got into Ghost Files or Puppet History. I'm just someone who has been on the internet for 20 years and seen people like this make this mistake over and over.

The only one who pulled this off is Dropout, but they:

Did it gradually over 5-6 years and really only went mostly independent when they were forced to (ie their parent company tried to shut them down)

Have multiple times as much content from a wide set of talent that releases almost daily and has a very wide variety. Don't like D20? Here's Game Changer. Don't like that? Here's Um, Actually. Or Dirty Laundry. Or Very Important People. Or Total Forgiveness. Or Play it By Ear. Or the nearly two decades of CollegeHumor sketch comedy archives.

Let's face it, Sam Reich - as much as I love him - is kind of a nepo baby of the former Secretary of Labor of the United States of America (though imo maybe the most left-wing one in the nation's history), so even if he didn't help financially (there is no proof of this), Sam had a hell of an economics advisor in his father, former Secretary of Labor of the United States Robert Reich.

Wow! That wasnt the answer i was expecting. I dont really understand nor believe these spiritual things but i am interested now. Can you share some youtube accounts or stuff like that where i can learn more about them. My day was very tirimg btw. I mean I dont understand these spiritual things either but it really saved me from “darkness” I guess. I’ve been following it up most of the times  since then. I can’t really explain you how to like get into it but I remember I started with astrology, you know zodiac and stuff, then I got deeper into when I started numerology- you know when you usually look at a clock and there could be 11:11 or 01:33 or something or when you look at the volume and its 33% or phone battery, they have their own personal message for you. You know it say usually that your guardian angels or your spiritual guides are trying to send you a message. 

I remember when I was really depressed in January I felt hopeless and well, dark and all of a sudden there were these ones that kept appearing everywhere and it got to the point it was so annoying that I started looking it up and then someone, I don’t know who exactly, said that when angels or spiritual guides want to send you a message, they will send you signs or numbers until you acknowledge them. I mean if you wait till clock is idk 03:33 then that really isn’t a message, you know. 

And I thought it was you know weird at the begging, you know coincidance but you have to pay attention to it. Like I always see 4s and lately 3s and 1s but my numebr is mostly 4 so I see a lot of 4s in my life. Four is also my life path number and my guide number, so I really do rely on it. 

And then I remember also there were always these tarot cards videos, you know that I thought were bullshit but then once I clicked on it and I was just sucked in. It doesn’t really have to resonate for you or something but usually it does for me. Not always but sometimes it really gets the situation on the plain sight and it just gives you some sort of clearing on it. 

And for me, I really rely on dreams. I think dreams are a big part of your spiritual journey, I mean for me it really is because I have always, since I was a kid had dreams that held their own power. Sometimes I dreams the future, sometimes I dream a feeling, sometimes nightmares and if you are aware in your dreams, which I am sometimes. Like I know I am dreaming in my dreams and I can sometimes control them, which is called lucid dreaming, but I am not that well in because I feel like that lucid dreaming is risky and dangerous, and I am already afraid of my dreams as it is. But you know if you dream dirty water or your teeth falling out or a white horse or broken mirrors and stuff like that, it can really tell you and advise you on certain situations in your life because that is your subconsiosness speaking to you and your coinciousness is your aware state meanwhile your subconsciousness is not. So dreams are kind of like your burried secrets, feelings, pressure and stuff like that. So it’s good to stay alert on those. 

With youtube videos it’s like... I follow some but it’s kind of like...idk how to tell you I just watch random videos from random people but I think that really good ones are Rich Lopp, The Tarot Cottage, White Rose Guidance and my favorite is Cosmic Tarot. That woman is amazing. I also watch Ethereal Empress and Astrokit both have nice explaining videos but sometimes I just pick random, not specifically them.Whatever pops on my dash. 

And on instagram I love third_eye_thirst  because she really has nice instagram blog oh and also Numerologist is nice. You should check that out on google bc it’s a page. But mostly I just find different sources. 

I wish you good luck on the exams. I have an important exam on Wednesday and I have to study so hard for it because I cannot fail it. So I know you’re stressed and everything but just do whatever makes you feel relaxed. Sometimes it’s better to take a longer break and get back there.

I sent a rather lovely ask to do with their comment of Unicorn of War’s rewrite. As they were getting annoyed about the amount of curious asks they were receiving.

I deliberately didnt do it on anon as I wished to show that there was no malicious intent behind it, (I even sent them a second ask just to make sure that they understood my position and explained why I didnt say it on anon)   Given the limited amount of characters in an ask, 

My comment was, and im paraphrasing.   “ What did you expect to happen? When you leave a comment on a non problematic and much loved RWBY youtubers videos, doing vids from a place of love, people are going to be curious and send you asks. (Regardless on my own thoughts about rewrites, UOW is one of few that Im willing to entertain. They are well thought out and add avenues , not take away) This is what happens when you grapple with the internet, people are going to be curious.”

I suggested that if they were annoyed at the number of asks coming in, maybe turn off asks for a while, as UOW is very popular and they were bound to continue receiving curious asks (I genuinely hope that none of UOW’s fanbase sent them hate.)

Yes, I understand that in the medium of text and with limited characters that tone and inflection can be lost, hence why the second ask to make sure that my intent was not misconstrued. 

Their rebuttal to friendly, non malicious advice was to reply to the ask and promptly blocking me, not even giving me time to even read the reply. 

So if anyone is out there and sees my ask or their reply, please understand that I sent a second one stating my lack of malicious intent, if @branwenrose doesnt publish it. 

And I wasnt given the opportunity to reply to their comment on the first ask.

However, UOW is not one of those people. If you give their RWBY rewrites, esp Vol 5 , a chance I think you might be surprised at how rich the UOW rewrite is. 

It is not taking away from the show, or shitting on it. UOW is one of a handful of RWBY youtubers who actually doesnt do that. He loves the shows, genuinely loves the show. And the care and attention to detail in the rewrites shows that. He does not take away from the show, he adds to it and presents different avenues by which the narrative that is already there, is presented.”

I will not be posting this underneath @branwenrose’s comment on youtube, though I have been encouraged to, as I respect the choice she made on this platform, and therefore other social media platforms are given the same consideration.  

Which gets to another point

A friendly reminder to anyone that makes statements or opinions on anyone’s social media that may go against the OP’s views. 

 Be aware that there is a cause and effect when making a comment or expressing an opinion, esp on a blog/platform of a very popular person.

Be prepared for a backlash, esp if its an inflammatory comment.

Where Cas is a fuckin adorable ass, famous Fursona who goes to tons of cons and no one knows who he is and Dean went to like a Comic Con deal with Sam (this is like normal verse so no demons) and Cas is there and he’s like, intrigued, never seen a furry before. For some reason (insert reason here) Sam knows of him, cause maybe Sam’s gone to like anime cons and gaming cons with Jess and Dean ends up like idk. END GOAL = they date and Dean is Cas’s handler and Cas always acts hella cute around dean.

Dean gets dared to accept one random ad on craigslist. Charlie takes him to a random page.

This is the ad that catches his eye.

“Need a model. class project. i can’t pay much but i can get you pizza and drinks.”

Cas is the photographer. It actually is for a class project. Cas doesnt act flustered but he’s totally blushing during the shoot. Dean gives him his number. You know what happens next.

   Cas goes to Gabe’s bachelor party and Dean is a stripper and gives Cas a lap dance and Cas was like so against coming to here cause he’s a Good Boy™ but he gets so like turned on and hot damn Dean is sexy.

Dean slips Cas his number and they go on a cute coffee date and Cas just like isn’t sure how to act because “I’ve seen you naked already?? And you totally knew I had a boner?? What are we??”

Cas is a cute ass blogger who does random collabs and travelling videos and occasionally does silly cooking stuff. His fans love him because of how genuine and like happy and smiley and just a really sweet guy. Does lots of charity work. His best friend Charlie is on sometimes, and his brother Gabe is in sometimes too when he comes for visits he loves to hop into the background and be like “YOU BETTER KEEP THIS IN THE FINAL CUT.”

Dean wanted to record him rebuilding Baby from the ground up one time and Sam edited it and made it more like a timelapse and told him he should put it on YouTube, so he did, for shits and giggles, and people really liked it. So now he does timelapses of him deconstructing and cleaning/reconstructing guns. As well as cars and other mechanical work. He’s done a few tutorials and Q&A’s. He also has a second channel, that he didn’t tell him main channel about, where he posts videos of him playing the guitar and singing covers of his favorite songs. (He keeps his face out of them).

Cas and Dean probably meet at a VidCon and become good friends.

They start dating and don’t ever announce it, but the fandom ships it so hard because of how cute/flirty they were at the con. They start noticing that Cas is wearing what appear to be Dean’s shirts, and some fans are in denial, and they ask both questions but they always just shrug it off.

Until one time, Dean wanders into one of Cas’s vlogs in only flannel pajama pants, holding two mugs of coffee, and hands one to Cas, gives him a kiss on the cheek with a husky. “Morning sunshine.” 

They start posting cute ass couple pictures after it and its just so cute.

-Olympic!AU

Dean is either a marksmen or a martial artist. I can’t decide. Gabe is a sports photographer and Cas is a professional ice skater and he follows Gabe to one of Dean’s things and they end up talking after cause Gabe is at his interview after (he won gold obvi) and Dean was like “I liked your routine.” and Cas is like “You know me???” and Dean says Sam always loved the ice sports and because of Sam he took a liking to ice skating and he skates sometimes but he thinks its really cool. (Sam is olympic volleyball player as a side note.) but they exchange numbers and hang out more and watch Sam play and its hella cute and they kiss.

-Singer!AU

Cas is a famous singer and Gabe is his quirky brother. Anna is his manager. Dean and Sam get hired as bodyguards. Dean and Cas hit it off and try *not* to date but they totally do.

Also Sabriel. 

They have to hire new bodyguards. Anna hates them. (not really, but she’s like “For real guys??”)

Jody gets hired. She’s badass. Charlie is Dean’s best friend and dying cause he is dating Cas, who she loves. Also Kevin is Sam’s and like is also jealous.

Bobby’s their adopted Dad.

-Post!Apocalypse!Vampire!Weird!AU

(long ass name ik but this is a random fuckin idea i thought of years ago and will never do anything with so i’m going to do my best to explain it here and share it with you)

SO. Heaven and Hell went to war, the world got *wasted*. A lot of angels fell and so did demons and their powers have been like diminished. The world is a wasteland and divided into segments and the demons kind of run the place and segments. The angels hide.

Dean and Sam are reincarnated. There is minimal food in this world and because of things and whatever, everyone drinks blood of various degrees to stay alive. Like they dont need much, but they need it. (If you’re rich, you have a lot of blood. It does make you stronger, but you can be fine with minimal).

Blood is also a currency. Animal blood is included in this, but its worth less than human blood.

So. Dean and Sam lost their parents early on, and Dean has always been caring for/fending for Sam. He gets caught stealing books, which are like rare as fuck but he hated that no one was reading them and he felt they were being wasted. (He was going to return them. He was a quick reader. He didn’t think they’d even miss them)

Anyways. Sam goes to jail. The price to free him (cause either he’s a repeat offender or the demon is like Alistair/another demon who recognizes their souls and ups the price cause they can) is like 4/5 liters of blood. Human blood. Sam tells Dean not to pay for it, he’ll be fine, but Dean pays with his own blood of course (cause thats how the whole human blood thing works. Rich people can pay in other people that they own but like you pay in your own blood normally).

Dean is like hella weak after this and tells Sam he’s fine. He takes a day off of work but his arm (where he cut himself) gets infected and like he gets really pale and collapses a few days later. 

Sam packs up all of their stuff and takes them to a miracle healer he’d heard about through the rumor mill.

Surprise. It’s Cas. And Gabe is with him.

Cas freaks out, cause they thought Sam and Dean were dead. Gabe stops Cas from telling him, tho, and like they heal Dean and Dean gets like a frickin flashback while he’s unconscious and being healed of like his previous life.

Also they have a horse named Impala. It was their fathers and its like the only thing they really own besides their tiny shack.

At some point, they get their memories back. They become friends with Gabe and Cas and like, maybe find some of the other fallen angels, and potentially even Crowley and like, do something? That’s all though.
