the 'lost fight = bum" thing with powerscalers is SOOOO ANNOYING. Rn with Kashimo, and I saw similar w gojo when 236 dropped where dudebros saying shit like "he got low diff'd trash character" in the comments of stuff not even about powerscaling. Powerscalers act like it's illegal to enjoy a character after they lose a fight. The way they switch up on characters over exclusively loss/wins is such a painfully shallow and bland way to approach the story (and kind of ironic considering how strength is treated in the narrative...)馃拃
The thing that annoys me the most is that they refuse to think of anything happening in the story that leads to a character losing. Like even ignoring the elephant in the room of Kashimo because Gege practically gave us nothing when it comes to scaling his released form (I would have liked something, but I can also accept that him losing the way he did speaks more toward Sukuna's ability than it does Kashimo's), you have characters like Jogo that they'll call weak, when in reality he's incredibly powerful but had the misfortune of fighting the two strongest characters in the verse as his only showing. Does that mean he couldn't have mopped the floor with most of the characters in the series at the time? Absolutely not, but you'd never get that from the vacuum that most powerscalers seem to operate in.
As someone who enjoys deep diving into fights and the details of the power system, I find it incredibly boring and annoying to not consider any external factors when talking about a fight. There's so many seemingly little things that can lead to a character winning a fight that they shouldn't have from a purely ability-based perspective. Did they prep beforehand? How does their ability interact with their opponents? Are they getting help from another character or a tool? Are they being buffed or nerfed by anything prior to the fight? Are they injured? Were they caught by surprise? Etc, etc.
Take Toji, for example, who powerscalers love to hold up as a powerhouse probably more than he deserves. (Which isn't me saying he's weak, he isn't, but I feel like some people do overestimate him in terms of ability, despite how much the power ceiling has been raised since Shibuya.) Toji planned so much for his mission to kill Riko and his fight against Gojo. He used other sorcerers to wear Gojo out for three days straight before he felt comfortable to step in and still used cursed tools and curses on top of it. Does that mean he couldn't have done anything if Gojo was fresh at the time of their fight? No, but it certainly made it easier. Toji doesn't blow through Gojo as easy as he does without prep, but people will look at their fight without any additional info and use that as a definitive scale of where Toji is compared to everyone else in the verse.
I don't know, I have a lot (and I mean, a LOT) of issues with how a majority of the fandom talks about JJK that isn't just the issue of powerscaling, but at a point it becomes me beating my head against a wall with nothing to show for it but a headache. Like, if anyone wanted to read me rant for a couple thousand words, bring up the fandoms general perception of Sukuna being a bum despite the heaps of info that we have to the contrary. Even the most recent chapter highlighted how ridiculous he is in terms of strength and understanding of cursed energy and sheer ability, but people are still saying he only won because of Mahoraga.
At what point is it not worth it to argue with that? Cause there's always gonna be someone that's wrong and loud about it, but when that becomes the majority of fans about multiple aspects of the series, it starts to kill the enjoyment of the series for me. I don't like being in a state of seeing bullshit takes every time I try to engage with the fandom. It's tiring.

"We generally do not comment on individual cases, but because there seems to be mass misinformation around this, I will make an exception and comment on predstrogen." So you admit this among the first and few of these exceptions being made, and you acted like a child, and proven in no uncertain terms you will let your team and apparently yourself operate your moderation with utter negligence to anything but the loosest and most arbitrary terms you actually do end up enforcing, without ever adressing why this seems to effect only very certain groups of people on this website in particular, over and over, well before and after this company and website was aquired by you, and still be wildly obtuse and intrusive about it. "Why do we wrongly have a transphobe reputation?" Love the use of the word wrongly here. This implies that it is a wrongful assertion that this website doesn't. Tumblr continues to have this reputation and others for a reason, not just because you think people at large are getting the wrong picture of your website and staff. This and other things are your whole track record that prove it consistently that you have this and other problems. "I am not aware of any Automattician (people who work at Automattic and Tumblr) who has made any transphobic moderation actions" In conjuction with the above statement, kindly, go fornicate yourself. You cannot imply here Tumblr's reputation is not skewing a certain direction, while also in no certain terms saying "it is not possible for our moderation team to be acting in this manner" just that you "are not aware" if it is happening, in your own literal words. The reality of this website is that its still happening and is still a problem, as much as you may think getting rid of one provably transphobic moderator may have done to change that reputation or the state of the site and its moderation going forward. Your website and your staff are still thought of this way for plenty of valid reasons. "So regardless of whether you still think Tumblr staff is somehow a bunch of transphobes, know that threats of violence or death are still not acceptable and will result in immediate and serious action. Know that when you rile people up, they can do dumb things with possibly permanent consequences." So we can acknowledge that people will say and or do things they dont exactly mean when pushed to a certain point, like that loony tunes type threat she apparently had made at you specifically, it then becomes really convienent that you look past how being ignored by your staff and you in respects to her ongoing harrassment could possibly be a factor in her being pushed to a limit. If you are going to put that as the standard, maybe start putting equal energy towards banning the people who said directly much worse and equally credible threats against her, and many others who receieved similar levels of harressment and can also immediately prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, let alone the hate groups that openly act around your website, among other directly harmful communities and people you also allow to stay on your platform.

To be honest I don't feel able to speak on Native european issues like this, I'm sorry thats not very helpful! My knowledge is specific to North American Indigenous practices, and even then the majority of what I know is specific to my nation. I wouldn't want to speak on the practices of another group.
As a disclaimer, I'm still learning. Im not an elder or a knowledge keeper. I could be wrong about things and if I am I welcome corrections.
What I can say is that determining Native identity is really complicated. Historically (for my Nation) this was not blood based. We even had adoption practices for bringing adults into the community. What mattered was cultural practice and community connections.
Now, post-colonism, things are different. Blood quantums were imposed on us by colonial governments, where our amount of blood relation had to be verified by a non-indigenous outsider in order for us to qualify for treaty rights. It's possible there are Indigenous groups that always used blood to determine membership, but I can say I dont know of any.
This practice was used to reduce our numbers, because extending treaty rights to more people makes it a harder to exploit us. It was also applied in a misogynistic way, as native women who married non-natives lost their status, when native men didn't.
As a side note it sounds like you're second generation, which is enough for status according to the current colonial government in my country.
Now we have a sort of mixed situation. For my band membership I had to prove my family line, as well as a cultural connection and community ties. Im not sure if proving the family line is required for other bands, in our case we had to because we're involved in a lawsuit with the federal government because they gave a bunch of provably non-Indigenous people (people who married in and have no consistent community involvement) legal status in our group. This has caused a lot of problems for us, but i don't really want to get into that here.
All of that is to say I don't have as much of a problem with tribal government doing this, at least for us It feels like a bit of a necessary evil.
The sad fact is that here we have had many non-indigenous people claim native identity without any cultural connection at all, and some of these people have taken positions and won awards reserved for indigenous people. Many have used false Native identity as a sort of marketing strategy, labeling their products as Native made and essentially commodifying the identity.
Worse yet, some have claimed Native identity to speak out against activists fighting for our rights, and to justify breaching our treaties. As a result we have to create a system for verifying each other's claims.
For myself the most important parts of my identity are my cultural values and the traditions im working on learning. These were practices that my grandfather was forced to hide, so for me its important to do that work for him.
In my case this is stuff like learning our language, learning about ceremony and traditional medicines, and learning traditional crafting like beadwork. Im also hoping to learn to hunt and work with hides from my uncle soon too. All of this is a process of preserving and reclaiming cultural knowledge that was systematically suppressed.
Ultimately I think saying "I have Native ancestry" says something different than "I am Native." Many people have a Native ancestor, but they may not identify with that culturally. They may not share those belief systems and values, and they may not be connected or at least working on reconnecting.
For those people I would say they may not be culturally Native, even if they have Native blood. If someone is not culturally Native, then I think identifying that way and speaking on Native issues can be a problem, even if you do have an ancestor. I have french ancestors too, but I don't really consider myself qualified to speak on french cultural issues. Culturally, I'm not very french.
Again, I'm not sure what any of this means for your situation and I want to acknowledge the privilege i have in being able to go home. My band is located in an extremely rural area, but I felt safer there as a visibly queer person than I have maybe anywhere else. There were pride flags everywhere, hung up next to our nations flag. Im so, so deeply sorry that you don't have access to that kind of safety.
I want to maybe encourage you to try to learn more about Native serbian culture if you want to though. Try and learn about your history, find out if there are any online communities that might be safer for you to participate in. Ultimately i think your situation is very different from mine because i have safe access to my community, and to the ability to reconnect, but this isnt safe for you. Its not your fault that you can't go home to learn like I can.
So yeah, i'm sorry that i don't have a more straightforward answer. But i do want to say you aren't alone in that feeling of displacement and confusion. Mixed people, and people who have been separated from their cultures all over are experiencing this.
I think that connecting to roots and history is important for literally all people. Know where your people came from and what they've been through. Know that sharing a skin color isn't the same as sharing a history.
At the end of the day I think this kind of reconnecting helps us understand ourselves better. It helps to understand how connected we are, how we're the product of generations of people working and struggling and going through shit, just like we are now, and I think thats deeply important.
Oh my god I feel crazy having to say this but I've just witnessed an interaction that made it feel necessary. If someone tells you they're native and you think they look too white or too black to be really native please fucking educate yourself?
My great aunts were literally sold to white americans as pre-teens. Why do you think their children look white?
And when enslaved people escaped their oppressors which communities do you think were safe for them to go to? At least in my area Native history and Black history is inextricably linked.
Native people can have light skin and eyes. Native people can have dark skin and curly hair. If someone is mixed, they're mixed. Don't erase their Indigenous identity.
Even non-mixed Natives have a variety of skin tones and hair textures. It's not up to people outside our communities to decide who is or isn't Native.
