It's StinkPlay Sunday and today's provider is Pudge from DOTA2. Never played DOTA or it's sequel, but i did know of Pudge, kind of a prototype to my baby daddy Roadhog.

“This is it, isn’t it?” The Shadow Demon had followed the Butcher as he had walked into the forest, knowing he was the stronger of the two of them and if he wanted to be as safe as possible, he should stick to the bulky undead creature.

“This is what?” Pudge’s voice was deep and the words he spoke were hard to understand. It might be because of his teeth, too big and too crooked. Or because he was undead and who knew how the body of an undead creature worked. Could be his vocal cords were half rotten or something.

“The perfect place to hide and kill someone.” Rhasta was a little agitated by the prospect of this. He didn’t know what to expect, didn’t know what Pudge would do or what the undead would want him to do in return.

The Butcher ignored him. He had stopped and now stared ahead, at the trees in front of them. There wasn’t much more to see than that, trunks and bushes and the shadows in-between. But he seemed to be waiting for something.

Rhasta tried to see what the undead next to him was seeing, but there was nothing. He was about to ask, when he heard it. Footsteps and the sound of metal clanging together. Someone, or probably several someones, in armour moving somewhere in front of them. There wasn’t much to make out about them, only the vague sense of moving shapes, but it was unmistakable.

In answer to the movement, Pudge slowly raised his weapon. It was a hook, like that from a butcher, attached to a chain. The end of the chain was in Pudge’s one hand, the hook in the other as he readied to do something with it.

It was strangely silent in the forest, making it easy to hear the creatures on the lane on the other side of the trees. Even Rhasta could sense when they were right in front of them. He jerked and involuntarily stepped to the side when Pudge hauled the hook through the trees, past the trunks, finding a free path through it. It flew in a straight line, and hit something with a soft thud. Immediately, the Butcher pulled it back, both hands yanking on the chain attached to it.

On the way back it cracked and burst, dragging something bigger with it. Some creature. It was pierced by the hook, hanging on it a little like a fish. It struggled, but couldn’t free itself. And then it was too late, because it was right in front of the Butcher. The undead grinned, closing one hand around the creatures arm to hold it still. With the other, he pulled the hook out, only to plunge it in again. It made a hacking sound, combined with the clatter of the chain that’s end was lying on the ground now, not needed at the moment.

The creature, which was attacked by this, didn’t make a sound. It let the Butcher do his thing, until it was dead and there was nothing left except a pile of flesh and blood on the ground. It didn’t take long.

In fact, it was over so fast, Rhasta hadn’t moved, only stared at the scene in front of him. “You killed it astonishingly fast.”

Though the Butcher was still kind of grinning, he wasn’t satisfied. “This wasn’t what I was aiming for. An unimportant little minion. I wanted a real opponent.” He sighed, shouldered his hook and turned away from the carnage on the ground. “Let’s switch to a different position and try again. I want to kill.”
