pardon the parsocalism but unfourtunately it's not like there are people in my real life that would have the relevant experience. have you heard of dovetail workwear? i found them touted as a sustainable fashion brand and i REALLY love their pants, i think they look great and seem so practical as clothes. but also i feel very stupid bc like they're made for like. actual labor and i'm just like. gay. that's it 😭. i'm studying biotech for god's sakes lmao. so i like the pants but i also feel like buying them would be silly as hell. idk this is a pretty stupid ask.

i'm not familiar with dovetail, they look pretty cool though! tbh i don't wear form-fitting work clothes/pants because it's most important to me that my clothes fit loosely so i can get air flow, so i usually wear a pair of loose dickies ripstip pants. they're thick enough to protect my legs but still loose enough that i'm not dying in them by the end of the day (especially in the summer WOW it is hot this year)

in any event, you absolutely should try workwear if it speaks to you, no matter what you do for a living. i make fun of carhartt for becoming a trendy brand (and putting that before quality material in recent years) but there really isn't anything wrong with people of all walks of life wanting durable workwear. i'm not interested in gatekeeping pants.

so get workwear! hell, get overalls if you want. 'good pants are for REAL laborers' is marketing B.S. and anyone should feel free to wear what they want.

p.s. biotech is very cool and definitely as 'real' as what i do, in fact i could never do work like that. respect.
