Bougainvillea is so pretty up close, I really enjoy the detail of these delicate white flowers inside. 💗

Being lower income when I was growing up was rough because my parents struggled to put me into theater camp every year, and when the recession hit they just couldn't afford it anymore. As a girl on the spectrum, theater was my safe space. The recession had major implications on me having a place I once called home, Valley Youth Theater. I couldn't afford to be a Thespian like my peers.
The reason I worked so hard to be in the field I'm in today is because I missed that childhood self so much. It didn't matter how isolated I was as long as I made my resume look good. I wanted to build a foundation for myself so nothing could take my creative side away from me again, not even my rapist or the ex that tried to kick me out of my first hacker conference.
I remember wanting to DJ since freshman year but the only way I knew how was through torrenting Virtual DJ on my crappy HP Vista laptop, and now I finally get to use a DDJ-400 whenever and where ever I want.
Anyway, you should always work hard to build your foundation so you can eventually express yourself in all the ways that make you happy again. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. 🤪
