I just finished the manga and… (manga spoilers)

I’ve got so much, yet so little to say. I’m so happy that I finished it, but also sad that it’s over and not coming back.

First of all, Senku is like one of my favorite protags of all time. Everything about him is amazing, and his personality is perfect.

Second, I love how basically all of the side characters are fleshed out to some extent. And they all have super interesting dynamics with Senku and the other members of the show

Third, the character designs. God, are all of the characters attractive. And they all look at least somewhat different from each other. Lastly, I just have to add this in here, I didn’t expect XenoStan at all (you might think this is me pushing my XenoStan agenda, but they’re doing all of the sailing of the ship themselves).

Dr. Stone Headcanons: Ticklish Edition!

Senku: He's ticklish but he won't ever tell anyone where (the back of his neck).

Gen: He says he's not ticklish (he's ticklish), but he honestly doesn't remember where and he doesn't want people touching him.

Chrome: He's very ticklish and everyone knows it, his neck, his sides, his elbows, even his nose.

Ukyo: He isn't ticklish at all, people have tried, he just won't react.

Ryusui: He's ticklish but he won't ever say where (the bottom of his feet and sides).

Tsukasa: He says he's ticklish but no one wants to attempt at tickling him because they don't want their head slammed into a wall.

Aaaaaah, I feel like Senku still deserves some time to properly grieve and maybe cry for a bit, I still feel like the whole time machine thing doesn't seem like the best option, but I loved the chapter very much, the essence of the manga is everywhere and it is beautiful, plus, like the entire scientific kingdom, I trust Senku more than anything and I know that he will guide humanity towards a good path 🪨✊🏼💚

it was revealed a while back in a twitter space/youtube interview (i forgor where sorry) that instead of suika, gen was initially planned to be the one to de-petrify first post south america arc and recreate nital to save everyone, and everyone ran with the idea. so did i LMAO/// in case it isn't clear, the first two drawings are part 1 and the rest are a sequel to it !

personally i think that gen would have made nital in less than 7 years (maybe 4-5?) bc he already has a base knowledge of chemistry + he defo picked up chemistry to a certain degree again from following senku around so closely for ~3 years, but 7 years is more angsty and so it shall be uvu

anyway. i wanna draw more dcst !!! rereading the series in one sitting really highlights how good the cast and series was....and i personally think. there is so much potential for a spinoff. a classic stone world cooking spinoff. a fun lil slice of life anthology maybe. stanley and xeno's childhood spent terrorizing the neighborhood extra. just some Thoughts !!

TickleTober Day #29: Claws

Xeno and Stanley (Dr. Stone)

**MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT**

“I’m happy to play the villain,” Xeno murmured, gazing out the window somberly, hands in his pockets. “It must be done.”

Stanley didn’t say a word at first. He merely puffed out a long plume of cigarette smoke, standing quietly by his partner’s side. A long beat of silence passed.

Then he struck.

“Ah! Ahahahaha, whahahat – Stan—!” Xeno yelped, wrestling his hands out of his pockets to grab onto the sniper’s wrists, trying to pry him away from his hips and what he assumed – correctly – was the beginning of a tickle attack. To his surprise, however, Stan used that sudden leverage to heft him up off the floor and carry him the short walk to his makeshift bed, plopping him down onto it before promptly digging his fingers into the insides of the scientist’s thighs.

Xeno absolutely screamed. “GAHAHAHAHAHA!! NOHOHOHOHOHO!! STAHAHAHAHAN, CUHUHUHUHUT IT OUT!!”

“Are you happy?” Stan finally asked in his quiet, serious tone, the hint of a playful smirk tugging at his lips. Somehow he’d managed to keep his cigarette in his mouth the whole time and now used one hand to hold it between his fingers and blow out more smoke, the other still digging relentlessly into Xeno’s hyper-ticklish spot.

Xeno barely processed the words for how hard he was laughing all of a sudden, but he managed to latch onto them eventually and cried, “YEHEHEHEHES, YES!! I AM!! I SWEHEHEHEHEAR I’M OKAHAHAHAHAY, STAN!!”

Stan clamped the stick between his teeth and went back to using both hands to tickle. “Are you?”

“GOHOHOHOHOD, YEHEHEHEHEHES!! I SWEAR!! STAHAHAHAHAN, PLEHEHEASE STOP!! PLEHEHEHEHEASE NOT THERE!! YOU KNOHOHOHOHOW I CAHAHAHAN’T—!!”

Just as suddenly, Stan stopped his attack and leaned down so he was hovering just above Xeno’s wide eyes and pink cheeks.

“…can’t take it…” Xeno mumbled out the rest of his plea, heart hammering both from the spontaneous tickle attack and now the closeness of his longtime friend and partner. “I promise you I’m fine. This needs to be done, and I’m happy to do it. For the sake of the world.”

Stan pulled the cigarette from his mouth, snuffed it out, and tossed it onto the floor. He’d get it later. “And that Japanese kid you mentored back in the day? You’re not concerned about him?”

Xeno smiled up at him, grabbing the front of his shirt and tugging him closer, running one of his steel claws against Stan’s cheek gently. “Why would I be, when I have you around?”

Stanley hummed his agreement, then closed the distance and kissed him.

…and then he went back to tickling Xeno, just because it was fun to catch him off-guard and hear him laugh freely.

I got the DR STONE Encyclopedia (an excellent decision on my part, I believe) and I'm slowly slowly translating it myself as a language exercise.

Some of my favorite parts:

EVERYONE has a birthday and canonical age. Except Francois. Francois is our unknowable nonbinary icon and they are eternal. Most entries for character's birth also have a location. Francois' just says "Was Born."

Timeline for EVERYTHING. If specific days aren't given, we have specific months! My fanfiction-writing heart rejoices!!

Also included is everyone's "type." Chrome and Ruri literally just have each other's names written there. Cuties.

Imagine Francois pre-petrification being the backbone of the Nanami household (mainly for Ryusui) and being appreciated by everyone, especially the Nanami family. Then, post-petrification, Francois just following everyone's orders, doing them favors, and of course they get tons of "thank you's" and such. At the end of the day, when everyone is asleep, they can finally rest and tell themselves "I have done everything I can to make sure everyone is satisfied, now I can rest" <3

Oh this makes my heart so soft! 🥹 They deserve all the thank yous! They really are the one keeping Ryusui afloat when you think about it- having the patience to handle his antics and helping out in every way imaginable!

And ahh the end of the day scenario! :D I love how cozy that is! (Unless this is some sort of angst moment in the manga, I haven't gotten that far so we're just gonna say it's a regular day dkjajrejkarjke) Everyone is just beyond grateful for Francois; I think they'd do a little thing by making some sort of comfort basket for them. It's nothing too fancy, given the world they're currently in- but it's fresh clothes, a bowl of warm stone-age ramen, some manga pages about the world's greatest assistant (Do they go by Butler? I have no idea). Just little things to show their appreciation.

Francois would sit by a snoozing Nanami, trying not to cry over the gifts as they stroke the pirate's hair. Then they say as you've said: "I have done everything I can to make sure everyone is satisfied, now I can rest." Alongside with a soft "I am truly grateful to have woken up, Nanami-san."

Very vague Manga spoilers. If you don’t know who Sai is, you shouldn’t be here guys. Just a fair warning.

Ryusui likes everyone, of course. In fact, he’d say he loves everyone.

But he doesn’t pursue a relationship with everyone.

That’s where you’re different than everybody else he loves.

He’d definitely pursue you in an almost obnoxious way, if not actually, purely, and completely obnoxious. Depends on your sanity.

But just because he’s loud, forward, and persistent, doesn’t mean he’s disrespectful at all. He respects you so much as a person. And he’d never do anything to hurt you.

In fact, he’s constantly offering you help. You don’t want his help, or Francois’s? Okay. That’s fine. He’ll come back later.

Let’s say maybe you were with the kingdom of science since they found you somewhere in North or South America.

Ryusui has had more time to pin after you than Sai.

But then you get to super alloy city, and meet his brother, Sai.

Sai isn’t so obvious about his crush, in fact, he shys away from you.

He goes a little while before noticing the way Ryusui treats you differently than everybody else.

And despite your hesitance, you don’t tell Ryusui off, exactly.

So Sai is pissed, because of course he likes someone and his brother got to them first.

He’s annoyed, to say the least. He doesn’t stop having a crush on you, but he doesn’t know what to say.

He tries to impress you with his math skills, and gets severely irritated when Ryusui builds a ship model that would suit your taste and tells you one day he’d have it built for you.

Once Sai gets a computer, he’ll code things into it and show you it. Or something of that sort.

And honestly, how you feel about them is going to be up to you.

One of them, cough cough Ryusui cough cough, is going to all up in your face (respectfully) about his crush

And the other one of them, Sai, his going to be a bit more stand offish, but not silent.

Eventually, you may get a confession from Sai. What happens next depends on you.
