There's one line in Race to the Edge, just one line, that made my respect for Snotlout spike. I don't remember the exact quote, but they were all under attack, and Tuffnut asked Snotlout why he was hiding out in their hut instead of his own,

And Snotlout's response was something along the lines of, "I was so busy reinforcing everyone els's huts, I forgot about my own!" And then cries out in fear from another hit of a catapult lol.

I normally only go insane for queer couples in media, but I'm watching Dragons: Race to the Edge right now, and I swear Hiccup and Astrid have me going insane.

honestly I feel bad for the folks who really love the How To Train Your Dragon movies but haven't checked out the shows cause they're amazing

like, I love the movies, well, at least mostly lol but the shows???? next level. And it gives so much weight to scenes in the 2nd & 3rd movies. A lot that's stated in the movies gets fleshed out beforehand in the shows. All of them take place between the first and the second movie.

cause like,, absolutely we know Hiccup is like The dragon trainer and it's stated in the movies, but an added like 9 entire seasons of episodes that build that up and Show it directly makes it really hit harder in the second movie when he's adamant about being able to change Drago's mind. He's not confident abt it because he's naive and stubborn, but because he's done it before.

Similarly with the side characters, they're So developed, from their relationships with their dragons to the group friendships, to the actual romance between Hiccup and Astrid being developed throughout wonderfully.

And it genuinely makes me laugh a lot, while also having a balance of battles and serious moments mixed in.

It's hard to argue that Dagur is definitely lucky that Heather even allowed him to have her on his side, after all that he did.. But it hurts me SO MUCH to watch how, throughout the series, Dagur hugged his sister many times, but only once was hugged by her:,,>

I love this scene and how Dagur says "I like having a sister", thereby once again admitting how wrong he was in thinking that he would manage in this life without people, who close to him, not just under his ruling..

He so worried for her and as Heather's arms just wasn't visible here, I really like to believe that she still hugged him with one arm at least for the last few seconds🥲🤲❤

Also.. I have NEVER thought that drawing characters in cloudy weather would be SO DAMN DIFFICULT!!! It took me a lot more time and edits than I planned... But hope it was worth)

The way that if Hiccup had stepped down that ladder on the Reaper with his other foot in dragon eye of the beholder he would’ve lost his other leg in the very first episode of race to the edge gets me every time 😭
