ive seen the dsmp resurgence goin on lately. Honestly, CCs aside, i really enjoyed my time watching and being in the fan space (art side specifically, i loved watching drama from afar). Here's a handful of old designs redraw, the old version under the cut

only to find out yall picked out the coolest parts of the streams that come few and far between and from a literary standpoint the writing kinda sucks ngl  You cant mix memes with genuine lore and excpect me to care. I think its a great starting point though it has made way for using smps as a storytelling device and the 3 canon lives system and thats great but damn I was so excited to learn about this epic war only to find out it started because some guy wanted to sell “drugs” out a van and some kid was being annoying it was funny at first but the more i thought about it the more sad i was it wasint as cool as it seemed

the concept of the dream smp is completely mad like are we sure that wasn't a two year collective fever dream. a bunch of the biggest streamers in the m'necraft sphere on a server where it took one afternoon of breaking bad references to kick-start a two year sprawling in-game roleplay involving geo-political tensions, nations, one of the most accurate depictions of abuse in anything, necromancy, possession, a giant red egg, ghosts, a live suicide attempt and coming to terms with how sh't your dad was. all streamed on youtube and twitch. peak viewership on a single day was like 1.4 million people, involving some of the biggest names in the online gaming sphere, mr beast would log on every now and again and stop everyone role-playing to hunt for a bunch of gift cards that never got used, they were all gay all of the time for some reason, lil nas x logged on one time and built a tree house?? are we sure that was real like sure there were plenty of news articles on it for some reason but are we all totally sure that happened

im rereading old posts about how c!fundy gets overlooked and. while i already knew c!fundy used jokes and comedic attitudes to tolerate his neglect, i didn't realize how MUCH it's happened over the course of his lore. from c!phil not treating him seriously to c!schlatt constantly reducing him as a 'furry' to his last mention in las nevadas being a joke. he literally was like a punchline to a lot of people, no fucking wonder he sought comfort in all the pranks and jokes he does

Schlatt's heart pounded, and pounded, and pounded, and all the poison from all the apples rushed through his veins. Staring all of them in the eye, he refused to let any of them get the closure of killing them - for once in his life, he would do this himself. Schlatt died from the poison coursing through his heart, spitting a new kind of poison from his lips.   His dying words were a curse upon the land. "When I die, this country goes down with me."
