Every story I read is like this:

When Dream goes into his passive form, it's all happy and lovely with a sprinkle of angst, and that's all.

When Corrupt Nightmare goes into his passive form, it's just angst—pure angst with a sprinkle of a little bit of happiness. Then the rest is just victim-blaming and passive , having no break or at least a slightly happier moment without it turning into angst again.

At this point, I'm starting to think y'all hate Passive Nightmare and Corrupt Nightmare.

I am doing inktober over on my Instagram and felt really proud of this drawing and decided to post it over here as well. The prompt was "dream," so I decided to draw dreamtale.

DAY 3- ANGST

i made this fanfic because no one was making things for my dream tale week event, so i decided to do a dumb thing and enter my own event. my friend said this was good but i’m not sure, give feedback if wished. (below cut)

it was a dark and dusty au. dead, grey grass everywhere. there was a singular, wilting flower in the field, turning into dust. nightmare felt despair brush over his senses. In the area of the field in front of nightmare was the damned positivity guardian, Dream. The one he didn’t consider his brother anymore. 

dream was on the ground, despair crawling on his back. nightmare could sense pain radiating from dream. “…b-broth-“ nightmare cut him off. “i. said. stop. calling. me. that.” he said sharply, his words being so venomous they caused  dream to flinch a bit. he simply nods silently in response. pathetic. nightmare felt a smirk creep on his face. “oh… dream, dream, dream. you have much to learn. oh, it must be due to the fact you have 500 less years of experience than me, hm?” he says with a chuckle, then slightly raises an eyebrow. dream gets up, but nightmare wraps a tendril around his abdominal region and raises him into the air. “oh dream… you are so…. hm… ignorant. you are truly an unworthy guardian of positivity, at least at the moment.” dream tried interrupting but he simply couldn’t find the strength to do so. 

“dream… just look. here you were, ignorantly and arrogantly believing that you can fight me solo. and the simple answer is no, you can’t. not with the current state of the multiverse.” he feels a bit of self-hatred slip from dream’s consciousness, causing a grin to appear on nightmares face. “heh… you know i’m right, don’t you… ‘brother’…” he says the word in a mocking way. when dream tries to snap back a response, nightmare simply squeezes dream’s middle and it interrupts dream. 

“oh ‘brother’…. if you truly think that way… you’re in a load of trouble in the rest of the multiverse… heh…” his tendrils are swaying behind him as normal, except they twitch on occasion, as if they’re itching to restrain or harm dream due to the conflicting presence. with a sigh, and a bit of a forced smirk, he allows one of the tentacles to carefully wrap around dreams neck bones. dream’s delicious, delicious fear was leaking from him yet again, and in quite large quantities at the moment. 

“heh… what happens next… no one knows…” he says with an all knowing and arrogant smirk. nightmare lowers dream and releases his grip from his neck region, but still has his tentacles wrapped around dreams abdomen area, maintains his restrained state. 

“well then… let’s begin.” he says quieter than usual, and with a sneer.
