I understand the choice to change the original use of the word “fag” to “drudge,” for obvious slur reasons. But, by doing that, you’re ensuring that viewers won’t know that fagging was an actual practice that’s been around for centuries in Great Britain.
It clearly wasn’t a humane or ethical system, and it’s deeply frowned upon in present day. But it was a huge part of British public/boarding school culture, and “fag” and “fagging” were the words exclusively used for this practice.
There’s even a possibility that the modern gay slur “faggot” was derived from this practice, since fagging frequently involved physical and sexual abuse between students. However, tellingly, fagging became less popular in some schools when homosexuality was more actively criminalized.
All that is to say that—though I get the reasoning—you’re still erasing a plot-relevant part of history by glossing over this very bad, very true thing that existed in England (and in some English colonies!) up through the 20th century. The truth is ugly, but it’s better context for the story you’re telling, and quite honestly makes Ciel’s situation at Weston make a lot more sense.

So, I decided to do an appreciation post for each member of the P4. Naturally, I started with my favorite, Gregory Violet. Ever since I got into the Public School Arc, I think Violet was my favorite of the P4. Part of it was because purple is one of my favorite colors and I love wolves. But what sealed it was that Violet not only is a bit dark, something I can respect and relate to, but he also is a talented artist, and he's unapologetically eccentric. The mark of a true artsy type. One of my favorite moments in the Manga (SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T READ THE MANGA YET) is when he makes Greenhill keep a ridiculous pose, so he can supposedly draw him. Yet, of the three sketches he does do, Greenhill is not even in a single one of them! One of them is literally just a maze leading to a cup of tea and a teapot. And when Greenhill finally breaks the pose, Violet bemoans the ruin of his 'masterpiece' and vents his frustrations by chucking a loaf of French bread (which he was using as an eraser for said sketches, no less) at Greenhill's head.
(I'm also a fan of Helluva Boss, so as Loopty Goopty would say, Violet is eccentric and must therefore do eccentric shit!)
Honestly all of these traits, right down to him screwing with Greenhill, quickly made Gregory my favorite Prefect and I can't wait to see more of him in the anime!

Writing book canon Tommen during the "AFFC"/King Tommen plotline of the show was actually hell. People kept bringing up show events from his plotline in interactions with me, despite me repeatedly saying I did not write show Tommen. (It got to a point where a couple Margaery blogs kept trying to initiate romantic/sexual interactions with my Tommen, under the assumption that I was following the show dynamic, and I blocked them). And after That Episode, I kept getting anons in my inbox making "King's Landing" jokes. 'Cause, y'know, a teenager ending his own life out of despair and horror was just so fucking funny.

Laurie X Alesha
The latest update made me nostalgic for their uncomplicated teenage relationship.
I never showed how they met, or how they became a couple, but I don't think it's necessary. It just happened, it was as easy as that. Alesha and her grandparents provided Laurie (well... "Mike" as he was known) with exactly what he was missing as a fugitive: a helpful and generous family surroundings, no question asked. Alesha's grandpa taught Laurie how to tend to his vegetable patch (and how to play poker).
And Alesha taught Laurie about other skills. ;)
Alesha was Laurie's first girlfriend. I wouldn't say that she was his first love per se. He liked her a lot but he never said the "L" word and nor did she. Somehow they both knew it wasn't going to last. Alesha never expected anything from him that he couldn't give. Even when she hoped that he would stay forever.
She liked Laurie's nerdy ways.
And she was so happy when he opened up just a little bit, telling her about his failed attempt at dying his hair and the reason behind it.
Laurie must have felt really guilty for his lies, because he was always finding ways to be useful to her. Be it fixing her computer, coming with her when she got her tattoo, or even hacking a system so Alesha's application is submitted on time.
Alesha was also Laurie's first time. She had boyfriends before, and she was clearly not shy in bed. She showed him exactly what she needed.
She is the reason why he decided to get a tattoo for himself later on.
She is witness to Laurie breaking down for the first time.
And finally she's the one giving him what he wanted at the beginning: black hair. Except way too late for it to have any meaning.
And Laurie let the dye fade...
Looking back, it seems premonitory that Alesha would find out the truth from listening in to a conversation between Laurie and Erik.
Alesha is a simple girl from a country town. She is smart (or Laurie wouldn't have been attracted to her) and Laurie is pushing her to get a higher education, but she doesn't have any big dream or ambition. She doesn't want to go to the city. All she wants from life is being able to provide for herself doing what she likes, which turns out to be hairdressing.
Their story was doomed from the start.
And then right before Laurie leaves, this particular conversation between Alesha and Erik:
If anyone believes in Laurie besides Erik, it's that unambitious country girl. 💔

The Prefects: Mr. Faustus, your son beat up one of the Drudges.
Claude: Who was it that he hit?
The Prefects: Maurice Cole.
Claude: Good. I hope he hit a good bruise all over his face.
