Olivers lack of ambition or much attachment to the world meets Mikes world seeing and thrill seeking and i think they’d ground at a medium,, i think they should take a trip. Oliver woke up jon for annabelle n in return she revealed that mike was alive all along n then they travel i think Oliver is deeply sentimental in a short-exposure at a time way where he knows better than to let it get to him too much. However he has a hard time actually getting invested in anything. Mike has few attachments in the world that he doesn’t want to lose. However he is deeply attached and isolated.

Does rhis make sense god i hope it did oliver loves mike knowing he will not last and it’s fine because he’d rather have loved anyways. Mike loves oliver because in the expansive of the universe, he just simply likes him, and he also happens to be able to understand his situation. Also because of how big you can feel knowing someone will remember you. I dont know if they would make any official label really (jealous mike is a fun idea tho..) but theyre publicly “travel buddies” since oliver insisted to make the next trip by road for the fun of it and got to know the truckers.

Imagine whatever scenario where oliver meets simon fairchild thru mike at like. A wedding or whatever can u imagine they would be so polite to each other and mike would hate it. I think Oliver is rlly good at acting normal at first when he sees the roots crawling towards mike but mike eventually realizes why he’s being distant. Mike buys oliver alot of stuff, but none of it is name brand whatever it’s all hyperspecific shirts and assorted commissions and trinkets. Simon once caught wind of it and decided to send a painting of his to the pair as a “free commission” but they had to burn it when it tried to eat oliver.

i’m just thinking about earth’s first attempt at life. and how it was all wiped out and she had to essentially start over. and how there’s no cosmic way that dinosaurs - or any prehistoric life - could’ve conceived of humanity at all. and how humans tells stories about dinosaurs because the earth remembers them and we’re connected by millions of years and the same space rock as our home. how in awe humans are of dinosaurs - to the point of mythologizing them - and we love them because the earth loved them, even though there no way for them to ever return that love. and what greater love story exists than you will be loved by creatures who you could never even dream of existing?
