I love how in most comics when Scrooge has some kind of beef with Magica, Beagle Boys or Rockerduck it's just silly goofy shenanigans and then there's Flinty whipping out guns, straight up threatening people with death and kidnapping children lmao

That's also why it's so strange to me that both Ducktales made him a regular day-to-day antagonist. Especially DT17. I mean look at him! Like sir this is a dangerous maniac. (love him though)

It'd be so cool to have a few episode buildup to an "oh shit it's Glomgold"moment, kinda like they did with Magica. But alas! 😞

So I wondered, what would Cassidy look like if someone redesigned him into the Ducktales Reboot? So I did that myself 😎

like the reboot designs with the other rich duck billionaires and like almost all the character designs, I needed to go far away from the original concept and do something totally different yet make sure there’s some resemblance to the characters so I can call it that character

If you take a look at this poorly made duck chart that I conjured up, I wanted Cassidy to be in the rich duck department so I had to base the design there, filling the design hole of buff tall duck missing from the reboot designs

Idk where I was going with this I just wanted to share my design

OH CHARACTER STUFF uhhhh basically I really wanted to have a competent rival duck for Scrooge that can beat him on occasions but also not be totally evil?? Like a rival who isn’t the main bad guy of the series and a fun competitor

oh and since I heard around that Ducktales wanted Scrooge to have a rival for every era or something, he’s almost like an omnipresent rival, but like they just been bumping into each other over Scrooges life and just now (I guess when the show ends or takes place) Cassidy is now a ‘threat’ (aka annoy Scrooge by being not a bad guy and just generally exist)

oh and something about Cassidy being a mirror to Scrooge 🤷

Okay so I like to headcanon that Rockerduck bought a load of modern day experience clothes (think Gucci) even though he hates how they look, he just really wants to look posh.

Also we deserved episode of him bonding with Jeeves. Like think how cool it would be, like it would be super funny. Rockerduck would have no patience for a baby and it would show!!!

look i love the new ducktales but they ruined him so much he only really appears in the european duck comics (before he appeared in dt17) which no one outside of europe reads but idc i grew up with these comics i‘m passionate about this so idc if i‘m the only one who submits him bc i love him and dt17 massacred my boi SO in the (european) comics, he‘s scrooge mcduck‘s most important business rival, he‘s really smart and pretty much as competent as scrooge and he‘s actually pretty nice and generally an honest person/duck, there‘s actually a lot of comics where he‘s doing everything fair and square and scrooge is the one sabotaging him he does sabotage scrooge too sometimes but generally they‘re on a pretty equal moral level he gets along with pretty much every single person in duckburg he even gets dragged along to scrooge‘s family vacation in one comic and then in dt17 he‘s just an asshole to everyone and steals stuff that‘s it that‘s what they reduced his character to ugh and the worst part is this is his first and only animated appearance and probably his only appearance most people (especially everyone outside of europe) has seen so that‘s what they‘re gonna associate his character with when he‘s really the exact opposite

okay but I wouldn’t mind DT17 Rocker being added to Topolino as Rockerduck’s cousin from his mother’s side. Like John D. Aristoquack—somehow more spoiled then Rockerduck.

He can come in when Scrooge is complaining about how spoiled Rockerduck is and then the narrative shows him what *real* spoiled is.

if i may ask, is there any information about rockerduck in the artbook? specifically something about why he was changed so much from his comic version? it's probably the one thing in dt17 that confuses me the most

Pov: lesbian reader's gf texts them but they're hanging out with FOWL

Steelbeak is who they're taking for a walk. He's like the guard dog who's bigger than the person with him. He recognises the gf's name in an instant and shoots the reader a thumbs-up, intent on watching their phone screen to make sure the whole exchange goes smoothly.

Bradford has tried to coach them on what they can and can't say, wishing to avoid a repeat of the kidnapping incident. Yet since a buzzard may never be too paranoid in his line of work, he demands that Gandra bug their phone. He listens in on a few of the texts, but the raw levels of affection and trust repel him.

Gandra gets stuck with that responsibility as well.

The tire screech is incredible—it's a black limousine with tinted windows and no license plate. Jeeves has taken the wheel and skidded to a stop in the middle of a four-way intersection, now stepping out of the car and opening the backdoor to reveal a small party.

Rockerduck is drinking a centuries-old bottle of wine, pinkie outstretched, and telling tales of how he conquered the West. Don Karnage leans into the sunlight to greet the reader, strumming and singing and tapping his foot in unison.
