dark justiciar shadowheart is genuinely so interesting to me as like... a facet to her character. like it really hammers home how desperate she is for shar's love and affection (+ the validation and love from other worshipers of shar). like in a lot of ways I get that it seems shocking to others / some fans because it really does contradict some of the morals we see her express BUT imo that just speaks to the level of desperation she feels. her comments on how shar "must" love her for her to survive the shadowcursed lands, or the bit where she talks about shar nurturing her and loving her and sounds... almost more like shes trying to convince herself more than shes trying to convince you. theres a bit about other sharrans not thinking she had earned her name, and of course the mother superior not thinking she was ready / worthy of being a dark justiciar. like shes just so completely desperate to feel unconditionally and securely loved, and to earn the approval of others that shes entirely willing to injure herself in the process (as well as.... the people who actually love her, of course).

not to mention that mechanically, afaik, she can only end up there if shes encouraged to by the player. ie... she needs to know someone else approves.

several months ago, I went to a checkup appointment with a specialist doctor for a condition I have and told her that my joints and leg muscles hurt a lot. IMMEDIATELY she was like "yeah you have low bone density, we're switching your meds" and within 10 minutes I was given new meds. I asked to do a scan for bone density and she just. refused???

anyway um! several months later! my new meds have done almost nothing to help, my previous symptoms which are not supposed to happen with meds are back, my joints still hurt a lot, and I'm constantly miserable due to pain. my dad did some research out of curiosity and it turns out that LOW BONE DENSITY DOES NOT CAUSE JOINT PAIN OR MUSCLE PAIN. SHE CHANGED MY MEDS FOR NO FUCKING REASON. I HAVE BEEN IN PAIN FOR MONTHS BECAUSE SHE KEPT SAYING "just wait it out" BUT NOTHING EVER GOT BETTER.

so I'm back on my old meds now and just. man. moral of the story ALWAYS push for tests. make sure your doctors know what they're talking about. you know your body best. I told my parents the entire time that the meds weren't working and they didn't believe me. please please listen to yourself and double check everything you can!!!!!!!

thinking about hockey player!kiba who’s forced to sit on the bench throughout the majority of the match, sulking and gritting his teeth in unbridled anger because a player from the opposite team had taunted him and pissed him off a little too much, and his teammates had to drag him off the ice before things could get bad as a result.

so he’s sitting there while his blood is practically pumping testosterone through his veins, breathing hard and heavy and feeling every single muscle pulling tighter and tighter with each passing minute that he doesn’t spend playing. he looks like he’s not handling himself well, taking all the rage that’s bubbling under his skin and showing on his face into account, but kiba is focused despite all of that. he keeps his eyes glued to the prick who had the balls to test him ever since he’s been pulled from the match.

the guy — number 13 — finds the entire thing like a little game of sorts. he keeps on pissing him off with short glances full of arrogance and keeps on throwing provoking motions at him whenever he has the chance, clearly trying to start beef with him for whatever reason.

the best part is that he thinks that kiba won’t do shit since he’s, well, been benched… but that all changes when there’s only roughly two minutes left until the end of the match and he somehow ends up getting thrown back into the ring.

because with all the anger issues that he has going on, our boy isn’t aiming for the puck. no, he’s heading straight for — now unlucky — number 13 and he’s grinning under the helmet while he does it; showing off his mouth guard and hoping that it’ll be the last thing this fucker gets to see.

I have so many problems with karamo but the s8 finale… he sees an asian woman who has severe trauma surrounding her father due to (some) asian culture(s) not allowing people to properly talk to their parents about their emotions or issues with them because that could be seen as disrespectful, oui? so she hasn’t spoken to him after her mother died and that is hard, yes?

and this man chooses to surprise her in the car (after making her cry) with an unannounced FaceTime call with said father, which forces her to immediately talk about why she’s upset with him after three years of not speaking??????? without being prepared, without knowing what to say to a stubborn elderly asian man who never learned to deal with his emotions and fucked up because of it? REALLY?

the LEAST he could have done was tell her in advance so she could write it down for herself and so she could be prepared

This moment in the comics looks so ominous by itself, like you'd think Luca was trying to hide that he broke something important or something similarly grave but it's actually just Luca trying to do his due diligence as a friend/guard to comic!Euden who literally goes into a catatonic state for the rest of the day if he sees too cute things, which would admittedly be a very incapacitating and dangerous trait for a leader in war.

Ah, the atypical duties required of Euden's friend group must keep them all on edge even in more concretely canon material. Nothing like trying to keep your lord from having to bodily throw himself at any harm, keep him away from the knives in the kitchen lest he risk contaminating the food and I cite Cleo's real concern of him 'fainting from blood loss' enough to tell him to go lie down, and the moment in chapter 13 where they see strange ominous liquid, and they go 'eep bad vibes from that thing' except Euden goes essentially 'I wanna touch it' instead haha (literally, 'I feel drawn to it').

In general, to quote Yurius expressing this to Euden:

I think calling Feferi going to attack Eridan like that self-defense because he assaulted Sollux IS a bit of a stretch, considering, like, Sollux VERY much did, like, agree to duel him. Understandable revenge? The most logical thing she could think of because she took his whole "side to Jack" thing seriously? Not worth being murdered as a 13 year old over? All true. oh you definitely can't underestimate how homophobic people are... there's a singer i follow and i remember the time he recommended a movie and then the fans found out its a movie about a gay male couple. for at least a couple weeks the comments under anything related to him were full of self-identified fans going "how could he do this to us" "there are hundreds of thousands of women who would kill to have his children and he does this" "we are doomed as a society" "how can he call himself a man" "i can't support this". all from american zoomers. i can't imagine what would happen if a world class celebrity with a cult following came out in this day and age with social media being a thing if a movie rec from a honest to god not so popular guy gets people acting up like this

Kevin is a fun character for me because the character the game repeatedly tells us he is and the character the game repeatedly shows us he is are just… blatantly two different characters, but regardless of which one you choose to believe is canon, he’s still one of the most sympathetic mf in the game and I will be very upset if he’s actually killed off
