Idk if you've done this before or something similar, but i got a brainworm and needed to tell it to someone
So, like, you know how there's a few strays in Liyue, right? All the cities really. So, like, a Reader that feeds stray cats, right? There's a dozen or so cats at any given time in the neighborhood, all of which rush to whatever door opens first, meowing loudly for food
And, like, they're floofy lil cuties that are hungry and have done no wrong in their entire lives, Reader can't help but get into the habit of feeding them whenever there's leftovers that cats can eat
So one day they open the door and go PSPSPPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPSPS✨✨
And lo and behold, the call is heard by at least five cats and one very large abyss monster that immediately comes barreling towards them, knocking over furniture and chittering happily
oh this, this is beautiful
Legacy's not even hungry when he comes running over towards you- he just associates "pspspspss" with your sweet voice and snuggles and darts over to wrap his arms around you. but he's very happy to see the cats!! normally most smaller creatures are afraid of him, but cats are cats and don't really care about how big he is, so they swarm around his feet, meowing at you for food. you kneel so you can set down the multiple bowls in your arms and Foul Legacy watches, in awe at how comfortable you are with the fuzzy felines
you glance up at him and smile. "Want to help me feed them?"
Legacy chirps in delight and kneels down beside you, his claws outstretched as you place a few treats in his palms. one of the cats looks up from the bowl of food it was munching on and saunters over, delicately sniffing his talons before giving the treats a small nibble, settling down to enjoy the snack. you can see Legacy's wings shivering happily, shaking from the effort of staying still for the little kitty when he just wants to jump around with joy. the cat eventually finishes the treats and promptly clambers onto Foul Legacy, climbing up and onto his shoulders and curling up in his fluff, and you can't help but smile softly when you see the ecstatic look on his masked face, raising your kamera to snap a photo of them together
needless to say, he starts feeding the cats with you every day

Tagged in a "Get to Know Your Tav" questionnaire thing by @lewdisescariot and I secretly always want to talk about my sorc boy even though I've been playing several other Tavs lately so.........
Name: Laurent Aimar (the surname is new, he's been without one since I made him oops lol)
Human wild magic sorcerer
Background: Sage (this was picked before I developed any of his backstory so I ended up with a not terribly well educated person with a sage background. I justify it by the sage background being mostly about the LOVE of learning, not necessarily how you go about learning)
Favorite weapon: Enchanted glaives
Style of combat: He's a spellcaster with low strength so he SHOULD be hanging back from the action and being mostly ranged. However. He is medium armor proficient and wears a ring enchanted with Blur so he's usually right up in the action. This is helpful when his wild magic bursts award buffs to everyone he's near, and not so helpful when they cause explosions.
Most prized possession: a crystal he wears as a necklace under his shirt. It was given to him when he was young and just starting to have extreme problems with his magic as a way to try and focus himself. It didn't work, but the gesture was a kind one amidst a lot of not so kind ones, so it has a lot of sentimental value.
Deepest desire: Acceptance and safety. He's been ostracized since he was young due to how uncontrollable and destructive his magic is so he's caused a lot of people a lot of grief. He tends not to let others get close to him while also craving companionship. At the start of the adventure, he's made up his mind to find a way to get rid of his magic, but that's something he keeps to himself for a long time.
Guilty pleasure: Any sort of down time he considers a guilty pleasure. He's been on his own for a long time and constantly on the move so any sort of casual time where nothing needs to be done is precious. He likes trying new foods and drinks and once he feels safe around his new companions, napping.
Best-kept secret: I'm still working out the details, but he's the cause of some kind of disaster that hurt and killed a lot of people, his family included. It's the reason he travels alone and refuses to settle anywhere and the root of his decision to try and excise his own magic.
Greatest strength: His charisma. He's very good at charming people and talking them in circles to avoid letting anyone close to him. The more anonymous he is the safer everyone else is, in his mind, so he's gotten very good at word play. He projects an air of confidence but its not necessarily always genuine.
Fatal flaw: Guuuuuuuilt. Any time someone gets hurt he finds a way to feel responsible for it, even if it wasn't his fault.
Favorite smell: Petrichor, which is the smell of rain after a dry spell. He also likes the smell of snow.
Favorite spell or cantrip: Magic Missile (he may have a bad relationship with magic but even he is not totally immune to Make Things Go Boom)
Pet peeve: Snoring, being asked personal questions
Bad habit: Staying up too late, which makes him a chronic oversleeper.
Hidden talent: he knows all of the constellations and can point them all out and name most of the stars that make them up
Leisure activity: he enjoys going supply shopping/ingredient gathering with Gale because he gets to try new snacks. Halsin has talked him into trying meditation as a way to try and tame his wild magic (it doesn't work, but he does like the way it relaxes the rest of him)
Favorite drink: Black tea with nothing in it, brewed as strong as possible. If highly concentrated cold brew existed in faerun he'd be drinking that.
Comfort food: he loves a hearty beef and potato stew. He didn't have it often because he avoided sticking around largely populated areas as much as possible in his travels and he never had the time to sit around and cook it for himself. Gale cooks it often on the days when he stays at camp all day.
Favorite person: Gale, its Gale, it was Gale from the moment he pulled him out of the portal. He was instantly drawn to his sweet and trusting nature, which made him panic because he's already breaking his own rules traveling with a group, he can't let himself get close to them too. (failed)
Favorite display of affection: once he bows to the inevitable and lets himself fall in love, he has a thing for an arm around the waist, whether doing it or having it done to him.
Fondest childhood memory: he tries extremely hard not to remember his past in any great detail. Occasionally a taste or a smell will remind him of something that doesn't immediately make him want to shut down, but he doesn't allow himself to dwell anymore.

FRIEND FRIEnd friend fr-
I have a 🌟 question 🌟
Souvenirs from days gone: Does Fane have a mundane object he's emotionally attached to from his past (draconic past or most recent)? A toy, a piece of clothing that doesn't fit any longer but he can't find in his heart to get rid of, a pretty pebble or a dried flower someone dear gave him in days long gone?
FRIEND, FRIIIIEEENNNNDDD! >:D Your questions always leave me pleasantly surprised and EXCITED because I just love explaining Fane's oddities and softer side!
So, objects that Fane is emotionally attached to? There are quite a few, actually! (Surprise, right? X'D) However, I'll go with the one that Fane cherishes the most!
In my fic, Mhairi gives Fane a crimson sash as a birthday present, and it's the only article of clothing (other than his leather wraps) that he wears that has Dalish inspiration. Though, he doesn't wear it because of that, of course, but the gift is something Fane rarely goes without because it was the first gift he received after his father's experiments ended (about a year after, in fact). It was like a safety blanket, a reminder that he wasn't truly alone, and that what he did perhaps wasn't in vain since Mhairi was alive, whole, and 100% unaware of everything that had happened to him.
----
"Vhenan, what is this? It appears to be of Dalish craftsmanship, but the materials are not what I'm accustomed to seeing.", Solas asked, turning to face where he was at the desk.
The rich crimson flowed over his sky's hands, delicate gold embroidery of leafless trees and the tiniest of hallas all along its edges and woven into the very core of velvet. Solas had a thoughtful, curious expression on his face, blue and grey orbs fixed on the beautiful article, almost appraising it. Fane chuckled at that, lifting a hand to scratch at his temple idly. Leave it to this elf to immediately pinpoint the one thing that actually meant something in his 'hoard' and assess it.
"You're too nosy for your own good sometimes, you know that?", Fane said, but he kept his voice light and a small smirk on his face. He wasn't miffed with the man; there were no secrets between them, just surprises as they learned and relearned.
Solas blinked, eyes and face snapping up to him as he was caught red handed. "I only--", he began, but Fane cut him off with a small wave of his hand.
He rolled his eyes, smirking more. "I know, my sky. Relax.", he assured, slowly pushing himself up from his seat with only a minor grimace of discomfort. He sat for too long again. How he did that with his job, he would never know.
Fane circled around the other end of his desk, strides slow, but not seeming like it as he easily closed the distance between he and Solas. The mage looked up at him, a wry smirk on his lips and the uncommon sight of sheepishness in his sky-line eyes. It was always a treat when he could coax out those hidden emotions with a few words. Always a treat.
"Here," Fane held out his hands, palms up and beckoning with two fingers. "..give it.", he said and smiled a tad more warmly as Solas gave him the crimson article of cloth without protest or question. The wolf was as keen as it was curious.
"I assume it is of sentimental value?", Solas asked as Fane began to fold the length of velvet and gold in a specific fashion, shortening it one way, lengthening it in another.
Fane nodded. "It was a gift.", he said, pulling the material taut to work out the kinks before seamlessly starting to wrap it around his waist. It was a bit harder to work this into his normal attire, especially with what he wore now, but the mage would get the gist.
Solas watched him raptly, head tilting a bit. "A gift?", he asked.
Fane huffed with amusement. "I know, an odd thought, but yes.", he affirmed, deftly tying and tucking without any thought. He had done this for so long that he barely had to visualize how the sash would lay, how the material would bunch or smooth out. As such, he glanced up, meeting soft orbs and a tender expression and greeted it one of his own. "..It was from Mhairi, so I guess it really isn't that odd of a thought if you think about it."
Realization flashed across his sky's features, thoughtfulness dissolving, blue swallowing grey as irises widened and pupils did so in turn. The shock wore off quickly, however, Solas' expression warming to where Fane could swear he could feel its heat physically. Or maybe that was just his face. His cheeks did feel warm. Which meant...he was blushing. Lovely. Why did he always blush when confronted with that look? Damn it all.
"I see. The craftsmanship makes more sense now with that in mind. Your sister is immensely talented in the delicate arts.", Solas said, a smile pulling at the corner of his lips more as he took a few steps to where Fane was suddenly having trouble tying due to how much warmth was between them. Damn the sky... It was too beautiful, too strong.
Fane cleared his throat harshly. "Yeah, she is.", he agreed, quickly turning his gaze down to crimson and gold because the view of blue and grey was making him lightheaded. "She spent months gathering the supplies and funds to make it. Odd jobs in the clan for coin and whatnot. I remember snapping at her when she told me she had gone to local villages to gather rarer items. Stubborn girl.", he grumbled, but smiled fondly all the while. His sister was indeed stubborn, but so was he. At least they were related in that fashion.
"She was willing to tempt to danger for you. I do not believe that is solely stubbornness, vhenan.", Solas explained with a fond chuckle.
Fane shrugged. "Guess not, but I still didn't like the thought of her traipsing into a town full of templars ready to maim her, to silence her.", he growled before taking a deep breath. Calm, calm. He would end up tearing the sash if he thought on those memories too much.
"Truthfully, nor do I relish that thought. Especially since I have seen the effects those in the armor have upon her.", the mage admitted. Fane remembered the event that Solas spoke of without full context. He would not let another gauntlet touch either of them again. "But, her gesture and endeavors were well meaning; they came from a place of love."
Fane hummed, ire washing away as he gazed at crimson and gold, trees and hallas. "Don't I know it.", he whispered with fondness. A new feeling of tranquility washed over him as he gazed down at the masterful sash, memories beginning to wiggle into his mind. "Material magic. That's what I've always called it."
He heard Solas chuckle, his hands coming into to view to help resume the task Fane could no longer complete due to emotions and more innocent days painting his psyche in gentle shades of pink. Every time he looked at his sister's gift for over long he...drifted, but not like how he once had when he gazed up at the sky, watching its expanse shift and feel his heart ache with yearning. This was more gentle, more welcome. It was nice.
"Explain?", Solas inquired, voice soft and gestures softer as slender hands skimmed along his waist and plucked at cloth. The mage was less prodding and more...reverent now. That made Fane lean forward a bit, resting the side of his head against Solas'.
"I just..feel calm from mere sight and touch. It's like how I feel when you speak to me in Elvhen in the morning.", he murmured, glancing down to see Solas was being less productive now, fingers merely tracing, feeling and memorizing delicate designs as his eyes were. "The material holds warmth and love; things I feel I still don't deserve, but am learning to accept. It's...something I don't think I'll be able to abandon even if the world commands me to." It would be one call he would not answer, and he would not feel guilt over it this time.
Solas' eyes fluttered shut. "Some must be obeyed, some mustn't. That is one I believe would be forgiven.", he whispered, coming closer still, fingers curling into lushness as Fane brought his arms up to loosely wrap them around an unadorned waist.
Fane hummed, nuzzling against the mage's temple absently. "We'll see about that, won't we? I may not abandon my sister's gift, but--"
Solas cut him off with a gentle shake of his head, eyes turning away from sanctuary to bore up into him, face soft, but expression hard. It was a look Fane was all too familiar with; they wouldn't think past today, or rather, he wouldn't. Easier said than done, but his sky was right. As always. He would find sanctuary tonight, not tear apart fabric as surely as he would one day tear apart a heart plated in gold and wrapped in velvet.
----
Fane loves Mhairi with all his heart. They may not be brother and sister in blood, but they are in soul. It's why everything he has to do and say later hurts so immensely; he doesn't want to do it. And it only hurts worse when the sash becomes a sword of pain to his heart rather than a blanket of sanctuary, but he keeps it, he endures. The sash seems mundane to those on the outside, but Fane doesn't care about them or what they think. He'll take any ounce of love he can, even if he feels, deep down, that he truly doesn't deserve it.

Monsters of the Underground
Sans: SeerTale Sans(about 8) is a shorter(3'5") and fluffier Sans.  His eyes are blue(left) and red(right). He wears a black t-shirt and keeps a gray non-zip sweatshirt tied around his waist in case he gets cold in the snow.  His boots are navy blue and he wears khaki shorts. He loves his brother, Papyrus, though he gets nervous around those bigger than him unless he knows them. This includes Asgore whenever he visits with his dad.  Despite everything, Little Scientist is often the smartest, sometimes smarter than his father, and likes to dress up in a lab coat and pretend to be a scientist when at the Lab with Gaster. This gives him the nickname, "Little Scientist."
Papyrus: SeerTale Papyrus(about 7½) is tall and lanky, a few inches taller(becoming 3'8") than Sans.  His eyes are yellow(left) and red(right). He finds shirts to be annoying sometimes and you can often find him running around with no shirt on, though his usual shirt is white.  He rarely wears sweatshirts but wears salmon boots and light blue jeans. He is quite outgoing and likes to talk to strangers, often helping Sans open up to certain people. He'd do anything for his older brother and wants to, for some odd reason, be a pirate(?) when he grows up, so he is often called, "Young Pirate" or "Papyrite" because Sans tried making a pun with it.  He'll sometimes carry around a fake plastic sword and, when he feels like playing, will point it at something and yell at the top of his nonexistent lungs, "Drop and give me your booty!"(still, ?) This confuses strangers but Sans usually answers the call and pretends to be a scientist that Papyrus captured to track down the buried treasure.
Gaster: SeerTale Gaster(6') is still the Royal Scientists, though he has not fallen into the core yet.  When he is at work, he is decked with a suit under a lab coat in case he needs to take it off for something professional.  At home, he wears casual black sweatpants and a blue hoodie that will later be given to Sans. His eyes are purple(left) and orange(right), causing Sans to often stand to Gaster's left and Papyrus to the right.  His skull has not cracked yet either, though he made the holes in his palms diamonds instead of circles(for effect, as he claims). He is reserved but protective and trustworthy. When he goes to work, he often leaves his kids to be watched by Grillby, though he will sometimes take Sans to work with him when Sans is feeling a bit blue or green.
Grillby: SeerTale Grillby(5'9") is a flame monster who runs a restaurant in Snowdin town.  He likes casual clothes, usually being found with an assortment of hoodies and jeans.  His fire fades from red to blue(top to bottom, not stripes), but doesn't seem like something special unless you're new(there are a lot of colorful things and any relatives that he has are about the same: fading from one color to another).  He is kind and will do anything for anyone, including pay Sans and Papyrus to have them run around and take orders, if only to keep them distracted so they don't break things. If something bad were to happen, you can see him in front of everyone with a weapon he never really wants to take out again.  His armor is sitting on a rack somewhere in his home. Both his armor and his weapon are made to have his fire curl around them and prevent people from hurting him as easily(only his magic fire is dangerous), though he never wears his armor these days.
Asgore: SeerTale Asgore(7'5") is the king of the underground.  His armor is purple and said to be a dyed diamond. His tridents glow indigo and he keeps the crown crest on his chest in black, sticking out against his light blue cape and clothing.  He is upset with humans most of the time after they killed his children, Chara and Asriel, but he struggles to keep a grudge sometimes, more focused on killing humans only when one falls.  When there is no human, he is more focused on keeping all of the monsters safe and some science projects that his science team is working on, including artificial souls and bodies. The grudge with humans changes when he finds out about Marintha being a Soul Seer, letting her live in his castle and guide children who fall.  He promises not to hurt them while they look for other ways to break the barrier.
Toriel: SeerTale Toriel(7') is the goat mom of the underground.  She wears the royal robes(blue with a black crest on the front) no matter where she is.  Often being distressed when the two most recent humans leave without her knowledge, she does her best to keep up on whether or not Asgore has claimed the two souls.  She eventually goes back to the castle when she finds he let Maritha live in the castle to guide children and he promises not to harm them. After that, she works alongside Marintha, often visiting the ruins to get any fallen children while Marintha guides them to different spots.
Muffet: Seertale Muffet usually wears a white to pink fade silk dress(spider silk to be exact) and doesn't seem as intent on killing humans for being "stingy with their money".  She still runs a cafe but will only attack if you tick off her friend, Grillby, or attempt to hurt someone. You can donate often in your time in the underground and the spiders will deliver treats and food to you for free in battles if you happen to be in one.  She is kind and a wonderful cook, often working with Grillby to sell treats and food, thanks to complaints from numerous humans about her only selling desserts. Unlike in UnderTale, She does not sell a spider doughnut for 9999 gold.
Undyne: SeerTale Undyne is much more peaceful in this world, though still able to duplex a boulder.  She doesn't wear her armor as often, finding herself able to defend easier with just her spears.  She wears a red tank top and leggings. The royal crest is on the shoulder of her armor to mark her as a royal guard.  She may be aggressive towards humans but, once she finds out Marintha is a Soul Seer, she changes to protect any humans from those like Elinada.  Being kind to almost all monsters(except Jerry) and protective over everyone she cares about, she will throw herself in front of Grillby, if Grillby happens to be there.  Her spears remain blue to remind her of Waterfall, the spot she likes most.
Alphys: SeerTale Alphys is quite smart and likes to help teach Sans about certain things.  Her scales fade from yellow to orange(top to bottom) and she is usually adorned with a lab coat, though if she wants something else, she will wear a nice looking dress.  In SeerTale, she is more confident, being capable of getting rid of her stutter without much of a problem. She still has a crush on Undyne and loses some confidence when talking to her, but eventually gains enough confidence to successfully flirt with her.
Mettaton: SeerTale Mettaton is the rectangle he is, just changing his board to be more colorful.  He finds little sympathy for Marintha until he finds out from a broadcast by Asgore that she is a Royal Seer.
Elinada: Elinada(16 years, 4’7”) is a murderous human who was pulled down into the underground by Maritha.  She was the one that pushed Marintha into the underground. She knows what the humans have done to the monsters and has the sense to kill anyone and everyone who isn't a monster.  She has pretty dark brown hair, with practically black eyes, and what was naturally tan skin that got pale from the underground. A dark hoodie was pretty established, and she has light denim jeans. Wears grey and white sneakers.  She knows that Marintha is in the underground and attempts to hunt down and kill her, not knowing that she’s blind.
Marintha: Marintha(18 years, 5’) is the human who is pushed down into the underground and found to be a Soul Seer.  Her left hand was burned off when some boys pushed her into a fire(whether it was accidental or on purpose is unknown) and replaced with a cybernetic one.  Because of the fire, a scar from the burn goes halfway up her forearm and she doesn't really like being touched by Grillby due to him being a fire monster. She has blue eyes and brown hair and usually keeps the scar and hand a secret, hiding it with long sleeves and gloves or pockets until she decides to open up.  Her attire when she falls is a galaxy sweatshirt tied around her waist, dark blue jeans tucked into black and gray boots and a gray t-shirt. Once the armor is made for her, it is crafted to look like a galaxy when the light shines on it just right to express her ever-growing knowledge due to her being a seer. Its helmet is shaped to have wolf ears as if to help her blend in with monsters.  The chest piece has a blade-proof soul container for her soul to rest if she ever encounters a battle. This is so, if her body is not saveable, a monster can pick up her soul and they can put it into a new body, much like with Mettaton. The shoulders have spikes coming off them and her gauntlets are adorned with small barbs to cause more damage when punching someone, only if needed. The Royal Crest is adorned on the chest.  Everything else follows the main shape of her body but remains extremely flexible, allowing her to move quickly if she needs it. They tested her armor so it is gaster-blaster proof for a short period of time. Marintha is kind, even through her blindness, though she can sense which soul is who. This is how she properly avoids enemies unless she has guards with her. Once she becomes the Royal Seer, she guides the children Toriel bring around the castle, bringing them to different spots safely and making sure they don’t encounter Flowey, all waiting for the barrier to break so they can go home.
