hello everyone !! so i won’t even lie to u guys, i am NERVOUS and it’s literally only bc this is the first group i’ve joined in so long like dfdhkjsfjad the last group i was in was almost a year ago but i ended up having to leave due to personal reasons and didn’t get to write so like !!! idk i’m excited !! anyways w that in mind, pls bARE with me bc i have like one (1) braincell and i forgot how to write intros. anyways enough of me rambling, lemme give you knox !!

nobody gets to pick their beginnings. it’s something that people tell knox all the time, hell, it’s plastered in every stupid coming of age movie, book, film, everything he’s ever seen. you don’t pick who your born into, you don’t pick who you get to be. and to an extent, he does think that this is true but he can’t help but wonder if maybe, if people could pick, if they’d pick differently. because he knows he certainly would pick differently.

it’s not that he even came from a bad home - hell no, he had the most loving family ever. his mother was a saint, a warm sensation bubbling up in his chest when he thinks about her warm cookies or the way she tried to still tuck him in even as a teenager. his father had his flaws, we all do, but he was a good and honest man. hardworking, he showed knox what that stupid american dream is that everyone likes to preach about. 

no, it had nothing to do with them but rather the overall opinion on him and his family. see, the drury’s weren’t well liked - they were seen as lowlives and as shady, the kind of people who you’d only go to if you wanted to get stabbed in the back. generations of drury’s fit this narrative but no, his father was determined to change that. and so was he, even if nobody around him seemed to want to give him a chance. 

knox would go throughout school with this name attached to him like a dagger to his throat - whisperings in the hallway of, “oh, my mom said the drury boy might be steal things if you let him over,” and other random, rude remarks. of course, the people that get close to him know better - they see him for who he really is.

that person is knox. he’s a golden light, often more selfless than the rich pricks who run that small town. he’d give his jacket or umbrella to people even if they didn’t ask if it just so happened to be raining outside, and despite the fact that his family didn’t have a lot, he’d still go out of his way to try to give when he could. 

he eventually graduated high school - one of the top people in his class due to his father’s encouragement, and after a lot of debate, settled on attending haddon university - miles away from that sweet, small little hometown he knew, but a fresh start where he didn’t have to work for anything. he could just go in being him, with nobody attaching a new narrative to him. it was what he wanted, what he dreamed of.

and he loved it. his first semester there was memorable as he found himself surrounded by new friends and people he even considered family. back home, however, things were slipping.

the drury family was never rich, ever by any means, but business was low. nobody wanted to go there, fearing that his father was just as shady as his grandfather. as things got worse, his father had to resort to other needs - stealing, lying about taxes, and doing everything he could to try to make it by. 

it finally caught up to him when knox came home for spring break - red and blue lights flashing outside as loud noises went on throughout the house, until finally someone swung knox’s door open and briefly blinded him with a flashlight, demanding to know where his father was. by the time knox got a grasp on the situation, his father was being rushed off in the back of a cop car. 

he plead guilty almost immediately and for the next few months, knox did school from home to stay with his mother. it was then that he switched his major from what had initially been just a vague, business degree to political science in hopes of going into law after getting that degree - a way of changing things, of helping people so they never got to that point. 

for now though, he’s gone back to haddon’s campus where he study’s away and occasionally finds himself slipping and partying, glasses always covering his eyes as he slinks back class, getting almost nO sleep every night.

like he’s not by any means like he’s kinda a gross dude like, absolutely randomly burps n is like lol oops n shit, very little manners, will grab clothes off of the floor to put them on kind of man BUT LIKE as a whole ?? he means very well FDSJFAHJ he’s very gentle and will sit there and admire flowers on a bush and then get mad if u pick one bc ur hurting it like. he’s baby.

he also is very loyal to the ppl he’s friends w tbh like. damn he will never leave ur side

that also makes him kinda... super, actually, naive. you see, while knox is incredibly loyal, he often finds himself ignoring signs of toxicity for the sake of preserving a friendship - he fights for people who won’t fight for him, he lets people back in too easily, he just. he sees the good in everyone, even if there isn’t any good.

regardless, he’s not easy to just... manipulate to an extent. while he’ll fall for you being innocent, you can’t ever try to make him think he’s something he’s not - he knows his intentions and he knows they’re usually pure and he’s not gonna fold for anyone if it comes down to him or them.

flings. — honestly romantic ships are not the point of rps but romantic flings and stuff can be really fun to plot and i love getting soft about them so like ?? idk dude lets fling it up n have muses date for two weeks n then break up like thats swexi, dramatic, 10/10

exes. — i mean this is kind of like flings but i have an idea... give me an ex of knox’s who really was like. everything knox wanted. hell, the two had a really good relationship - they were in love and etc etc gushy details but they ended up breaking up bc they just. they weren’t meant to be! as sad as it is like it was as simple as that! and then the angst comes in after they break up bc god they still love each other so much but they just aren’t meant to be and they see them with other people and oh it just hurts but like, bonus points if they manage to become good friends even after this !! (sidenote, idk i wouldn’t want this to be a full ship tht gets back together bc idk i think there’s a bittersweetness in stuff like this n its just. like. its ok !!! idk !!! )

his father, pablo, will probably get a name change someday but i literally never think of his father since the only thing he did in platano’s backstory was disappear 

since platano’s world has characters based off like. fruits and vegetables (there aren’t really any limit to what the characters are based off of. it was in my lazy google translate name phase so we have like... a gay character named arcenciel who becomes dadlike through my powerful canon-changing touch. also arcenciel wears the colors of the rainbow as often as he can i haven’t figured out a good design for him since i’m not used to using more than 5 colors. he also owns a hat factory)

i think arcenciel and platano are friends they met when platano was like. 17 probably and arcenciel would be around uhhhhh ummmmmmm 21??? idk man but in canon he’s probably around 30 . yes i m saying “in canon” because i wrote a really dumb and horrible story back in 2018 arcenciel used to have HUGE internalized homophobia and i turned that into a running joke and i dislike that so that’s a reason why i’m not sharing the fun little story i wrote for my friends

(the best part of that story is when arcenciel threw his light-up rainbow heelies at platano, thus starting the boss fight which the main cast LOST.)

i have a whole doc named platano where i just wrote drabbles about him so i’m going to summarize them

the first one was his friend, percisi (my only cishet oc he’s very short and very aggressive while also dressing in a soft-colored turtleneck since he’s based off of peaches) using a misunderstood form of satanism to summon satan. guess what percisi and platano summoned satan for. it was a manga update! wow

i won’t say the mangas name it was an inside joke

so platano was like “hey satan can i have this manga now please please” and satan went “sure just kill people for me” 

that determined platanos job for the next 7 or so years <3 wonderful. 

(it was basically me writing a backstory for a scene to happen in the main writing i wrote for my friends. he killed someone because someone else in the building was trying to summon satan. very confusing but okay i guess.)

i think right after that i wrote about platano meeting his boyfriend, sage, for the first time. i have horribly mixed feelings about their relationship since it’s very. Hm.

so platano kidnaps people to watch anime with him because all his friends left him and his best friend, mangue, is too busy being a dictator over the Land of the Fruits. i shit you not fruits oppressed the vegetables. i wrote that dynamic between the two because i was learning about the revolutionary war in US History. something like that at least

on the topic of kidnapping people. guess who his favorite person was. sage. it was sage. so he tried to take sage often but they probably discussed Proper boundaries since everyone else tried to run away. hmm i am now going to write a bit right now 

“Platano,” Sage started. “Why do you keep kidnapping me? It’s rude and I hate it.”

“What else am I supposed to do?” The yellow-haired fool leaned on his sword, digging the tip deeper into the ground. 

“ASK ME IF I WANT TO HANG OUT??” 

“I can do that?”

“You keep making my dads worried.” Sage looked around the area, fidgeting with his hands. 

“Oh. Okay. Want to hang out? Watch some anime?” Platano paused for a moment, but managed to say “Maybe kiss?” before Sage got to answer.

“I- KISS??? We can watch anime together. We can go now.” 

Sage ushered Platano through a portal as fast as he could.

hmmm maybe that’s alright idk i’m a little tired so it’s probably a little out of character. sage probably isn’t that loud but i think it was trying to be the dynamic of “oh, we’re not dating” when they kiss every sunday at 5 pm by a romantic river scene 

he’s a character who is, at his very core, horrible and bad. he is portrayed in a way i DESPISE but i’m too lazy to correct it. his interest in sage actually started with me going “hmm i think platano would draw sage like this” then sauce giving me fun facts about his oc, sage, yea sage is sauce’s oc <3 epic win . so sauce gave me fun facts about sage and i was like “time to doodle these in platanos ‘art style’” when in reality it’s just the mockery of people just getting into an anime art style, with the chin so pointy it could cut a cake 

i might reread my old writing from 2018. i gotta agree with the judges for that year i did not write very well

it mightve actually been made in 2017 which would be FUCKIN CRAZY im gonna check rn

Character Creation Tag!

So I was tagged by @chatnapwrites (thank you, thank you!!) but I honestly had no idea which character to choose for this. I have hordes of OCs and I went through some honest trepidation when it came to picking. After some soul searching I realized the answer was obvious (at 5am on no sleep). So I’m doing Andrea (pron. On-Dray-Uh) from The Night Has A Thousand Eyes, my current wip.

1) What was the first element of your character that you remember considering?

Definitely her trauma lol omg im so mean to my characters. I knew I was gonna have to put this b*tch through some stuff.

2) Did you design them with any other characters from their universe in mind?

Elijah (her love interest) came before her so I had to make her his yin/yang. They grew together in my mind because I worked on building them simultaneously.

3) How did you choose their name?

Haha....her name used to be Deborah and then I was like YOURE SO STUPID...that’s her middle name. Names are so funny for me. The character tells me their name. Don’t ask, that’s just how it works.

4) In developing their backstory, what elements of their world played the most influential part?

Oh man I’m not sure. She’s sort of influenced by everything around her. She a very feely person. There’s also been a lot of death around her and that’s had an impact on how she views the world.

5/6/7) Is there any significance behind their hair color/eye color/height?

Honestly not really haha she’s kind of a plane jane. I just wrote down what I saw in my head because I wanted her to feel like you and me. This is the story of my heart and I feel like Andrea is the reader, she’s me, she’s my friends and family.

8) What do you relate to within their character/story?

Loss. Her story is very therapeutic for me. She also uses humor to distract herself in moments of distress.

9) Are they based off you in any way?

In some ways. But then again all of my characters are fragments of me, everyone I know and everything I’ve experienced and characters I like. She also has traits I wish I had or traits I don’t necessarily like in people.

10) Did you know what your character’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

I think haha. I mean...she’s probably straight. I don’t really feel like she’s any certain thing. Elijah was her first and last everything so she doesn’t know any thing else.

11) What have you found is the most difficult art form in creating your character?

I’m so incredibly dumb or just confused by this question tbh... The way in which ‘art form’ is used..I just..my brain broke?

12) How far past canon events that take place in their world have you extended their backstory?

Hm like a few years. There’s also time jumps and flashbacks in canon so does that not count?

13) If you had to narrow it down to 2 things you MUST keep in mind while working with this OC, what would they be?

I constantly have to tell myself not to get mad at her for being stupid and acting out just because it’s something I wouldn’t personally do. I need to stop judging her lol and the second is she needs to make some friends..there’s Ryan but Elijah wants to kill him so??!?

14) What is something about your OC that makes you laugh?

Her ability to ignore what is right in front of her.

What I did to her sister....

Not really Andrea but it’s part of her story. Elijah comes from a crime family but uhm does he thou?

She’s funny when she’s mad.

Hm probably all of the butterfly symbolism surrounding her. She’s Elijah’s butterfly as well as mine. Mon papillon as he’d say.

mary had a little lamb? WRONG. mary had a little calf. because she was born on a dairy farm in the highlands of scotland ( laugh at my joke pls i worked hard on it ). she was born third to two muggles – a scottish father and a mexican mother, who loved each other deeply – and would eventually become their middle child. she could have become overlooked, but mary never felt discounted at home: while her parents were very often busy with the cows, their love ran deep.

her youth consisted of this: running through fields of grass, attending a muggle elementary where people sang songs at her ( old macdonald had a farm and mary had a little lamb ), playing with the animals, building tree houses with her brothers and sister and playing football every spare moment she got. it was good and simple and wholesome.

of course, strange things happened, as they tend to with muggleborns: she’d explode her brother’s toy when she got angry, or let things fly around the room when she was laughing. when she found out she was a witch at age eleven, things fell in its place. and the macdonalds, while traditional catholics, accepted mary, which is the most important thing of it all. her parents were shocked, yes, but they squeezed her shoulder and promised to discover this all together.

which?? very much influenced mary greatly? because it went against a lot of things they – and she, too – believed in? this has allowed her to have a faith in people, and while she may be cynical and bitter at times, that faith is still there.

hogwarts was as chaotic as home, and mary settled in quite nicely. sorted into gryffindor ( she guessed it was for her rambunctious nature, but who knew ), she found herself a second home and loved it. as it turned out, she was rather good with a wand as well – she didn’t do so good at essays, though – and genuinely liked learning ( except for history of magic. fuck that. ).

being a muggleborn had its downsides, of course, but mary never really allowed herself to feel discouraged. hurt? yes, definitely, but never discouraged. she wasn’t going to let it get to her, she told herself, but it did, especially when the harsh words turned into something more. it was during her confrontation with mulciber that mary felt true, harsh fear for the first time. she felt shut down, paralysed, depressed —– but then, after a while, she got up and took some important steps. she reported mulciber, which led to nothing, which caused her to feel angry, which in turn caused her to feel determination. if the system wasn’t going to be on her side, she’d just have to fucking change it, right? mary started throwing herself in her schoolwork, determined to join the dmle – hopefully as an auror, but any position would do. she suppressed her fear and the trauma that was there, and kept her chin up.

the entire mulciber situation is up for change, should we get a mulciber, or if it doesn’t correspondent with the plot/rp canon! 

graduation rolled around and mary got the five required NEWTs to even apply. it was a nervewracking process, but once she got into auror training, she cried. like. for a year. she was so proud of herself and she felt so determined and !! man. it was such a good, defining moment. around the same time, mary joined the order; she knew the ministry was corrupt, and that it’d not allow her to do everything she wanted to, when the order DID. mary had too much anger, too much determination to fight this bullshit to just stick with the ministry, and so the order seemed like the right place.

right now, she’s fighting. she’s gritting her teeth and keeping her goals in the back in her mind and is focusing. and she does not always feel brave or confident or self assured, but that does not matter: mary macdonald always gets the fuck back up, and that’s what she will keep doing until she’s completely knocked down.

mary is a human espresso. she’s so. damn. bitter?? despite the fact that she keeps on going and that she’s fighting her ass off, she’s tired and angry that things don’t seem to be moving in the right direction, she’s feeling bitter about the fact that this kind of discrimination is happening right in front of her eyes and that she does not have enough power to stop it. she feels powerless, which makes her feel bitter, which makes her cynical.

still! mary is not necessarily a debbie downer to be around. she keeps her bitterness ( and hopelessness, even ) carefully hidden in boxes in her mind. on the outside, she’s filled with quips and smiles and quick comments! just a sociable bean, but just a bitter one.

is a dog person and will fight anyone who prefers cats. has a cairn terrier called bowie. she loves him more than anyone.

obsessed with tea, tbh. her ma always said that ‘there’s nothing a cuppa can’t fix’ and mary definitely agrees with this statement.

though is also a ‘whiskey in a teacup’ kinda gal

very much in a take-no-prisoners mindset at this point re: death eaters. it kind of scares her, tbh, but mary is very much capable of murdering a death eater, even if she could stun them — she’s just done. she’s very. done. with them. and this whole shbang? will only feed into this.

mary is ruthless, that’s what it boils down to. she’s a lot more than that, of course, but i chose that trait for her app because she is --- in small things ( football matches & boardgames ) but also in bigger ones, and of course the war is the main way it shows. mary is so angry. she’s so angry and scared and tired of feeling that way and tired of being scared to lose people and herself and of death and she’s so angry that people really are this way and that they really do these things --- she wants it to stop. she wants the world to be right. and sometimes she thinks the ends do justify the means. 

this is why she’s chaotic neutral and not chaotic good.

like ive had her turned to dark arts before just bc she’s so desperate to. fucking win.

and she’s also like --- mary doesnt care if she ruins herself? if she becomes a bad person who’s unable to live with the shit she’s done? as long as the world is better for it, as long as kids can go to hogwarts and feel safe and the world is a safe place for everyone. what does her soul matter in the grand scheme of things? she’d burn in hell forever if it meant the rest of the world changed for the better.

Lee Junwoo – an actualbaby!!!!!!!! He caught my eye in episode 0 but I totally forgot who he wasuntil I saw his famous TATATA dance. What I liked about him was that he didn’t completelygive up after messing up and he kept on going hard @ the dance (he even made itto a C despite those mistakes!) he’s an awesome dancer and has good expressions!I really look forward to seeing his Shape of You stage (I think) I heard it wassupposed to be real good. Ahn hyungseop – Ilove him, he’s such a textbook slyth, he even expressed disappointment ingetting a lower rank than before. I can see why ppl don’t like him (similar todaehwi) but I really do adore him and his quirky ways. While I think he’s agood performer, I do think he would be more a B-rank rather than A. I’m stillnot quite convinced of his singing just yet….

Joo Haknyeon – tbh,I feel like he was born to be an idol with a face like that, I think it has amore idol-ish feel than Jihoon’s. I find that he’s a really decent dancer too!I do wish he had a better audition song…like why’d u choose that song and b-boyto it omf. He seems to be a total sweetheart as well! Hanywayz…..i wanna seemore of his friendship with ong, they seem to be good friends as well Y_Y @mnetGIV EHIM MORE SCREENTIME.

Yoo Seonho – it’sa surprised to me how much I like him?? He’s so cute and harmless lmao. I can totallysee why he was casted, along with guanlin, and sent out despite being only trainees for 6 months. they will super popular in thefuture (if cube doesn’t fuck up). I’m not really expecting much from him, beinga 6 month trainee, but he did surprisingly ok in sorry sorry compared to hisexperience, I’m looking forward to seeing his next stage. He also seems to be agreat guy, judging by his fanaccs and activities.

Yeo Hwanung – he’sa great dancer and stable vocalist, why is he being slepton?????????????????????? He seems super sweet and patient with Justin too likegoing through the notes together…

Moon: I’ve been hoping to study perhaps Creative Writing or History, or perhaps even Astronomy? I’ve really wanted to pursue Astronomy, though I thought that would take me too long and I would turn too dumb halfway to even get my degree, so I’m probably going for Creative Writing, if it doesn’t end up providing too low pay. I’ve found estimated pay for each of my desired degrees, and Astronomy turns out best. I’m still uncertain though;Arcturus: Yes, immense happiness or excitement or proudness or anger, I’ve felt a lot through crying. Most recently I’ve cried because Phillip Michael Lester turned 30 and I’ve went on a bit of a marathon of his videos from oldest to newest, I’m still not done with it, but I ended up crying because he got this far and he probably didn’t know it would happen just a decade ago. Hahahaah… please don’t judge me;;

Betelgeuse: Something I can’t forget about? Oh dear, I don’t know. I guess, the time a guy almost broke my left clavicle in 4th grade right before an exam;;; Worst day.

Aldebaran: I desperately care about my friends, my future, how I look in front of others, what I do in front of others, about not failing at anything and making myself look like an idiot, and I could go on way more about this stuff. But mostly, I care about the dear babe who asked all these questions. uwu

Orion: I have so many favourite months! January because it’s the new year and typically I get new relationships in that month, February because it’s my birthday month, and June-August because it’s Summer Vacations.

Pegasus: My favourite place to be… Well, I guess typical places would be my home, wherever my friends are, and I also love visiting new places. I want to visit Rome and some other cities I haven’t yet visited! I also love being around places where I can feel that everyone around me is happy.

Phoenix: I love wearing sweaters and scarves, as well as denim skinny jeans. Denim and leather jackets are amazing too, and give me all of the ankle boots. That’s basically my outfit all the time I go outside with minor adjustments.

Hydra: I love listening to music, so rhythmical sounds like those really get me cheered up. Listen to eurovision songs like What’s the Pressure and Tonight Again, and those are some songs that make me feel happier. I also love hearing birds chirping, airplanes setting off, and sometimes I like listening to paper being ripped. And rain splattering against the window is amazing.

Milky Way: The oldest friend I remember having that I’m not in contact with anymore is a girl named Sophia who was my neighbour in Greece. My oldest friend that I mildly keep contact with is one of my current neighbours in Serbia who shares the same name as me. My oldest friend who I keep in contact with as we speak (or rather as I type and you read?) is the babe who asked the questions. uwu

Andromeda: I consider myself slightly social, slightly not. I’m an ambivert, and it just depends on my mood. If I’m in a good mood, I want to be surrounded by people all the time. Although if I’m salty as fuck, leave me alone and just hang with me at that moment if we talk on a daily basis and/or I trust you a lot.

Black Eye Galaxy: Well, it’s possible, under certain conditions. I don’t believe you could find out someone’s personality at the first sight, but you could fall in love with their looks at the first sight, that’s certainly possible if you’re one who goes for looks. But my opinion of love at first sight is when you hang around with a person and you feel a connection by the first time you hang out with them and know how they act and some of their opinions on things, and basic things about them.

Cigar Galaxy: Lmfao, my flirting skills? Sometimes I can bust a good pick-up line on the spot, so my flirting is quite alright, and I’m not the most awkward flirt online, so I can be quite confident. Although don’t challenge me in real life, I’ve never done it so I guarantee I will make a fool of myself.

Sombrero Galaxy: I am dating someone right now who goes by the name of Nalin! She is the babe that is @silent-luciidity . But I love her a lot, and I can’t help getting crushes even then. I’ve had this crush on a guy in my class since a year ago, and that’s longer than when I’ve gotten into a relationship with her recently, just two months ago. So I’m still trying to control myself around him, yikes. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love my babe dearly

Pinwheel Galaxy: The last person I talked to is a friend on Quotev, and I’ll be honest, I would not lmao. He is just not my type, although a good friend.

Asteroid: Yikes, that’s a tough question. My dream life would probably consist of living in an aesthetically pleasing looking mansion with all !! my !! friends !! living with me, and I could get whatever I crave at that moment immediately, and I would also want my friends to be super happy. I don’t like seeing people sad! Although I get carried away with things I want, I try to hold back;; But the thing I surely want is the happiness of everyone I know.

Meteor: Well, that’s not something I could easily say now, can I? Haha, well, I’ll go by something I wish I can say in real life, but I’d probably get thought of weirdly for saying it. I wish I could say that I don’t like people being my friend one moment and then being all dramatic the next, although I can’t say it straight to their face because they’d throw a bigger fuss. The people I hang out with are awful sometimes ugh

Nebula: I wish I could undo my weeby creepypasta phase tbh burn that shit in hell ew-

Shooting Star: I :) wish :) I :) could :) bring :) back :) people :) having :) common :) fucking :) sense :) but even tho that’s true I wish I could bring back my lost PSP D: I lost it by leaving it behind on the bench while I was waiting for the bus with my mom and sister and I only noticed it was gone when I asked for it in the bus (I was like 5 or 6 at the time mind you) and I started sobbing when I realized that we forgot it and it was already too late to go back. Supernova: I really want to be at least a little bit known before I die, be it for my art or books or anything else. I want to be known a little bit. I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t super popular or anything, I just want to be known by a good few thousand people that can possibly spread it to others.
