Here is my recap of The Masked Singer Winner, Amber Riley episode of the podcast.

Kevin and Jenna start off the podcast lavishing praise on Amber for winning The Masked Singer. They said she had the best training being on Glee.

There is nothing Amber can't do.

Amber wanted to kill Kevin for his TikTok that went viral.

Kevin's twitter was flooded when Amber first sang on the show.

Amber and Heather are great at keeping secrets.

Amber told her mom because she lives with her.

Drag Race tried to do the Masked Singer shield and sweatshirt to hide the identities of the celebs. Kevin and Jenna were breaking all the NDA's on that show.

Amber has learned that she has to celebrate all her wins. She is trying to be better at being present.

Amber always wanted to Gravity on Glee.

Alicia Keys does the background vocals on Gravity.

Everyone on the Masked Singer gets a vocal coach.

Amber's vocal coach is a childhood friends dad.

Amber had a great time on the Masked Singer. It gave her a chance to let everyone just hear her voice. She felt free under the mask to just be herself.

They talked about Kevin and Jenna being on Drag Race. Amber didn't know that Jenna was pregnant while she filmed Drag Race.

Amber and Lea both sang the alternate intro for Glee. The intro had the feeling of the intro from The Nanny.

Kevin said it was really nice to hear Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger talk to Amber as a singer. It was a nice moment in a show that can be super over the top at times.

Amber admires Robin Thicke as a song writer and vocalist. She wants to pick his brain about his A Beautiful World album.

What is the difference between winning the Mirror Ball on Danciing with the Stars and winning the Masked singer? Amber felt like she earned the Mirror Ball. She grew threw her anxiety on DWTS. The Masked Singer was just fun. She just wanted to have fun and wasn't worried about the outcome.

Amber said Jenna and Kevin should do the Masked Singer.

The Glee tour wrecked them.

Amber and Chris will be on Name That Tune on January 11th.

Chris is competitive as hell. The beast comes out. He does not like to lose.

This episode must have been recorded the day after the finale of the Masked Singer.

DWTS Tour recap!

Hey y’all! Here’s my (ever entertaining) tour recap! First of all, we are so grateful to this beautiful lady for giving us tickets for Christmas and coming with us. She was a little reluctant to go considering we told her we’d be leaving the house at 3 and returning God only knows when. But she wanted pics with the pros to brag to her Zumba friends. Imma say our experience delivered. She can’t wait to go next year!

After killing time with endless Jenga battles, we left at 3 to head downtown.

We got downtown, parked, and walked to the bus in hopes we’d see someone. Low and behold......

Abs Boo Thang was exiting the bus at that moment! He was in a rush but came over for a pic and a quick chat. She asked him if he remembered her from last year and he was like “Oh, yeah, of course!” (Bwahahaha). In typical fangirl Katie fashion....I totally forgot to give him his note 🤦🏻‍♀️ or get a pic with him. I’m so bad at this 😂. Abs asked where Wit was right as Carson was getting off the bus. Alan walked over and told him to go get Wit as they were walking into the venue. We stood there and the security lady came over and told us we couldn’t stand there so we left to do a lap of the venue. When we walked to the other side of the bus, we saw a couple way in the distance walking and my mom said “That could be Val and Jenna!” We watched for a second and I saw that mother truckin fanny pack strapped across the man’s chest and I was like “Holy crap it is!!!!” So we walked towards them hoping they’d turn down that sidewalk and not go towards the back of the venue. We leaned against a wall and “got busy on our phones” and put Abs on “see if they come this way” duty. She goes “Um....they are and Val just waved at me!” So we waited till they got closer and turned to wait. They stopped and Val said hello to us and Abs latched herself onto Jenna. My mom told them they were a beautiful couple and asked for a picture

I took one with Val while Abs latched herself back onto Jenna.

I asked him to sign my book and he laughed when I told him I carried that damned thing through MVP and forgot to ask him then

Then Abs latched herself onto Val. I went to take a pic and got this absolute gem

Abs is a little salty that she didn’t get one with Val alone but it worked out because somehow the one of her and Jen didn’t take (I think because he asked me a question and I turned to talk to him). We chatted a minute and I completely forgot to ask the questions I had planned (as big of a game as I talk...I’m a total blubbering idiot in front of them). Jen was surprised to see his book without the jacket because she hadn’t seen it naked before. My mom told her it was because I didn’t want it to get messed up in my purse and Val was like “that’s damn smart!” They left and I hollered “Oh my God come back! I have notes for you! I’m such a terrible fangirl in person”. Jenna laughed and Val told me I held it together better than most.

After that encounter we went back to the bus. The security lady chased us off again so we did a lap. My mom was saying she really hoped to meet Sasha and Emma. Abs wanted to meet Ruby. We stopped by the buses again and out walked the Farber family! My mother’s jaw hit the dirt! She went all blubbery fan girl and threw her phone in my direction for a picture

Abs asked if she could pet Ruby and they told her she could, if Ruby let her, because she has some anxiety issues. She was successful and says she is so soft.

Abs wanted a pic with Sasha AND Ruby so....

Abs then started talking to Emma.  She asked her if she remembered her from last year.  Emma also replied “Oh, sure I do”.  Abbie said “I still don’t know why I cried, I think I was overwhelmed”.  Emma’s lightbulb turned on and she got all excited “Oh my goodness!  I DO remember you!  We met over there!  Your mum took a video!”  This is the moment my love for Emma exploded.  She was already a fave, then we met last year and she was so sweet, then she somehow actually remembered us and holy crap y’all! 

(Y’all take note of that lady back there in the red jacket.  Homegirl was more and more pissed at every pic that we took. Jacksonville security hates me and my fangirl self)

 Since Big Bad Security Lady was real deal pissed off after Abs petted Rubes, we decided it was best to take another lap.  When we came back, Carson was standing there.  He is ADORABLE in person.  Like HOLY CRAP!  I asked him if I could take a picture.  He looked behind him then looked back at me and said “Me?”  I said, “Yep!”.  He lit up and was like “No one ever wants a picture with me!  Heck yeah, I’ll take a picture!”  Abs asked him to tell Wit she said hi and I gave him her note (because I finally got my shit together).

(Wit better look out.  Imma swoop in on her man)

The world’s friendliest security lady was eyeing us again so another lap was made.  When we came back, my mom decided she was “old and needed to check her phone” so we leaned up against a tree in direct defiance of the security nazi.  Out popped this beautiful man.  Holy Crap, y’all.  He is flippin gorgeous in person.  I mean like WHOA!  He laughed when I tried to take a picture because he’s real deal tall and I’m real deal short. He grabbed my phone and took the pics for us.  Ha! Words can not describe the beauty that is Gleb in person.  My mom kept saying how handsome he is. 

Right when Gleb left, this adorable human came out.  My mother’s face says it all.  He is just precious!  So kind, so baby faced, so very precious.

At this point, Meet and Greet had started so we wandered around to go see if we could tell who was inside because we still hadn’t found Joe, Artem, Hayley, Britt, or Wit.  I went around back while my mom and Abs held that tree up, which made the security lady’s day.  I saw Wit and Artem inside mingling so I knew we were pretty out of luck and went to collect the lurkers to go grab dinner.  My mom wanted to sit and watch M&G for a bit and all of us were in absolute awe of the beauty of Wit while she and Artem were happily selfieing (yeah, I made that a verb, deal with it) with the fans.  My mom couldn’t get over how the people in there paid that much money for tickets and we had met more than half the cast on our own terms. We went back out front for one more glance before dinner and somehow Artem was at the bus.  I was waving my squad over while I gave him his card and asked for a picture and he was reeeaaaallll skeptical.  He said “It depends, how many people are over there”. I said “Just me” as I am frantically waiving.  He cut his eyes at me and said “Are you suuuuuuure?”  I told him it was just my mom and daughter (as they finally moseyed over there) and he laughed and told me the guard was oddly insistent about them not talking to the fans at the bus for some reason and she was scary. 

Y’all….here’s where I show you a zoom in of Attila the Hun (from the background of our Esha encounter)…..who is not even a little impressed with the fact that we were at this show.  Artem was scared of her, my mother….not even a little.   

 We went and had some pizza, got our souveniers (including a mug for Bestie that I SWEAR Imma mail tomorrow), and went to the show.  Y’all….the show is AMAZING!  I liked it a lot more than last year!  The dances were amazing, the dialogue was hysterical.  My mom’s favorite part was Emma’s Elvis dance and the couple segment. Abs favorite dance was “The One Where Alan Is Shirtless”….so pretty much all of it.  My favorite was the flag dance.  I had seen clips of the drool worthy dance and of Sasha running out at the end.  What I hadn’t seen was that he runs out and in approx 5 times as the guys look at him like he’s insane.  He finally comes out with some tiny yard marking stake flag and starts waving it frantically, whacking Val with it.  I about peed myself!

 After the show, we went out to the buses and met up with Abs’ friend and her mom. We chit chatted and the actual DWTS Security guy came out.  He told us that the curfew was 10 (it was about 9:15) and that when he came and told us no one else was coming, we had to leave because the buses had to roll out right at 10.  He told us to respect the “very secure, military grade bike racks that were provided to us and no pushing or shoving.  A (very nice) arena security guy lamented the fact that no one ever wants to take a picture of him....then cracked up when I said “Oh, but I do!” and I did.

Joe came out and went directly on the bus, Alan came out and mingled (and cut me out of our selfie….brat),

Sasha came out and mingled for a loooooong time.  He made sure everyone got to talk to him and take their pictures.  He was great this tour! 

Most of the pros came out and went straight to the bus due to time.   At one point someone yelled “Hi Carson!”  The girl next to her said “That’s his last name, you idiot!” so she then yelled “Well, Hi Mr Witney!”  He chuckled and waved and went on the bus.  Abbie goes “Their last name is McAllister” and we all died laughing because it was hysterical.  Jenna came out and got some stuff out of the bus and that’s when I heard her say to someone on the staff “Actually, Val and I are…..” and now we know they went to Jersey. Witney came out to mingle and Abs lost her collective fan girl shit.  She absolutely LOVES Witney.  My mom couldn’t get over how stunningly beautiful Wit is in person and without makeup.  She is absolutely gorgeous.

When Wit came over to us Abs was in tears and Wit asked her name.  She told her Abbie and Wit said “Oh!  Carson told me you said hello!  I read your note!”  Abs’ friend’s mom managed to catch it all in pics and it’s adorable. 

After Wit, Britt came out but only got to about half the crowd (not us.....sigh).  Emma came out and security told her she couldn’t see anyone so she gave the crowd an air hug and told us she loved us and thanked us all for coming out as security was ushering Britt out and onto the bus.  As we were walking to the cars, Abs and her friend were catching up on some middle school gossip and her mom and I were exchanging tour stories. I brought up a picture of Shai’s hat and she was like OMG!  You’re on tumblr!  I still haven’t decided if I’m embarrassed or flattered, but this is gonna be so much fun!  Y’all…..she’s my kindred Valenna believer.  @edsy914

 All in all it was an amazing night that capped off a pretty damn epic weekend.  We got to meet everyone but Joe, Hayley, and Britt.  We all can’t wait to go next year!

The Masked Singer Season 4 Episode 1: Group A Baby, Premiere Time! Guesses & Commentary

Hello my fellow Masked Singer peeps!! It’s that time, I’ve been waiting for this for so long and I can’t wait for this season, it’s looking super promising I’m so excited! So I am going to try to do these every Friday (since I watch The Masked Singer on Hulu the day after it comes out, which is Thursdays)... so stay tuned. This season, there have been 2 huge changes, the lack of audience (they were digitally edited in which I am not a big fan of) and the Golden Ear Trophy (where the judges put their first impression guesses and the judge(s) who got them correct get a point so we’re going to be talking about that too... I’m gonna call the segment Golden Ear Time every time someone gets eliminated)... alright so here we have Group A:

First and foremost we have the first eliminated contestant of the season who was:

The Dragon

Ok, so I kinda saw this coming (both who it was & that he was going to get eliminated), I’m kind of bummed out about it being so soon but everybody was so great that it was super hard to say that I wanted one to be gone.

Ok let’s first talk about his performance like always (if you haven’t seen my recaps before, 1st welcome! I’m Ana, nice to meet you... 2nd my format starts with the eliminated contestant and first I commentate on their performance, reveal them, and do clues how they match/the judges’ guesses now with the Golden Ear thing and then I do the same for the remaining contestants, the clues & commentary): I am not gonna lie, I enjoyed the dragon even though he was one of my least favorite performances (I am not the biggest rap fan, it’s not my least favorite genre by any means, but it’s just not my cup of tea even though this performance was fun af, like you could tell this was a real rapper... we’ll get to that later tho). He was awesome, it is a shame he went home so soon ngl. 

Anyways, let’s look at who the Dragon was revealed to be, shall we? Ahh it’s good to be back typing that: 😄

*DRUMROLL PLEASE*

Busta Rhymes!!!! 

So, I’m kind of shook and proud of myself because I legit heard a sneak peak of like 20 seconds of him rapping and I got it instantly even though I only know Busta Rhymes in passing by songs he’s featured in with other artists. Ok, let’s look at the clues, shall we? 

Clues:

“Dressing up in outrageous costumes isn’t new to me”= known for crazy costumes

A lot of gold= gold records  

Weights= has a love of weightlifting

Now it’s time for *fanfare* Golden Ear Trophy Time (and also a little bit of making fun of the judges... aka only Ken this time because this is kind of ridiculous)

Nichole & Robin each got 1 point with their guess of Busta Rhymes... yay!! They got it! 🥳

Ken: this wasn’t his 1st impression guess but his final guess legit makes me want to roast the crap out of him... Michael Phelps (like look at that performance and don’t tell me that you think that guess is actually a good one... like not even close 🤨)

Alright, now that that’s out of the way, let’s now talk about the remaining 4 contestants: 

1. The Sun

Performance: She was amazing, like one of my favorites from this episode. Her rendition of Because I Love You by Lizzo was gorgeous, she has a beautiful voice and she’s such a star man, I really do believe that she will go very far. 

As for my guess, I really do have believe it is singer songwriter...

LEANN RIMES 

I think this because of the following clues: 

Mickey Mouse shape= Disney= LeAnn Rimes sang multiple times for Disney, especially the song that appears during the fireworks show at Disneyland and had a Disney Channel special back in the day.

Fell into a deep depression= was sought into treatment in 2012 and is very open about her mental health going down after being a child star

Judges’ Guesses 

Jenny: Demi Lovato (not a bad guess, a lot of people agreed with this... I just don’t feel like the tone matches up) 

Ken: Madonna (say what now? That doesn’t even sound close to Madonna, but whatever Ken is Ken... what else is to expect?) 

2. Popcorn

Performance: She was great, I can tell she is a legendary singer. I had high expectations because this is like my favorite costume of the whole season, and I was a little bit let down not gonna lie. She sang “What about us” by Pink and I didn’t really love the song choice if I’m honest. Hopefully, she’ll do better, since I really want her to advance really far. 

As for my guess, I am not 100% sure, but my closest guess is legendary singer...

TINA TURNER 

I think this because of the following clues:

Built a career around love= idk about this 

Proud Merry Go Round= ik too obvious but I really can’t think of anyone else especially due to the voice

Jenny: Tina Turner (my guess exactly... I am still not 100% sure)

Nicole: Mary J. Blige (that’s pretty good but I’m not sure) 

Ken: Carole Baskin (wtf Ken? Please Masked Singer never have her on this show, I’ve had enough with her on DWTS)

3. Giraffe 

Performance: He was great and it was fun to watch, but I feel like he could do better. If it's who I think it is, I know he could do better than that first performance of Let’s Get it Started by The Black Eyed Peas. 

As for my guess, I have a feeling it could be Broadway legend, Hamilton superstar...

DAVEED DIGGS?

I honestly don’t know about it based on the clues:

He says music is in his blood

Was the butt of jokes but now he’s like super successful = this one sounds kind of probable but the clues are too general 

Judges’ Guesses

Robin: Vanilla Ice (I also heard this a lot online... maybe but the clues make no sense with Vanilla Ice) 

Jenny: Travis Barker (maybe... not a bad guess) 

4. Snow Owls 

Performance: Oh my god the first pair ever, how fun! I hope they keep doing this more in future seasons! They were literally my favorite of the night! Their rendition of “Say Something” was so stunning, I was shocked. 

As for my guess, I really do have believe it is sibling duo...

JULIANNE & DEREK HOUGH

I think this because of the following clues:

Family reunion, haven’t done anything together in a while= they used to work together a lot and now they have been pretty separate with her doing her singing stuff and him on World of Dance and Dancing With The Stars (if he’s on this too, damn he’s on all the channels haha) 

Christmas clues= they just did a Christmas show together in 2019 and came out with christmas music

He’s a prankster= Derek really is one, just look at his TikTok haha

Jenny & Nicole: Donny & Marie Osmond (I mean Donny was already the peacock on season 1, I doubt that he’ll be back)

Ken: Eugene Levy and Catherine O Hara (they’re not really related so idk how it makes sense but not a bad guess.. I genuinely think it has to be a brother and sister duo)

DWT NYC 2.23.17

just thought i’d do a lil recap of the show at MSG! first of all - it was AMAZING. when i got to the venue, i immediately went to the dance party / Q&A and ariana was SO sweet and kind! she was adorable, and she said she was freezing but wouldn’t wear anyone’s sweatshirts bc her outfit was too cute lol. i didn’t get called on for the Q&A which sucked but i was standing RIGHT. NEXT. TO. SCOTT. it was so so awesome i was so excited! scooter braun was also at the Q&A making jokes which was cute. then, I went to the honeymoon inn lounge which was super cute, they had healthy snacks, a candy bar, the mocktail / cash bar, a little table where u could try on her perfumes, and a photoshoot setup w props. So after like 2 1/2 hours of all that, the concert started and Victoria opened up and was so so good. Then, Little Mix came on and they were AMAZING. and at a little after 9, ari came on and was. SO. INCREDIBLE. i was in section A2, row 11, which was so close to the stage and like a foot away from the catwalk IT WAS INSANE. she slayed every. damn. note. i was shook. i seriously didn’t think she could top the visuals and presentation of the hmt but damn she killed it this year. ugh, the outfits, the props, the intros / interludes, the visuals....all absolutely stunning and fantastic omg. i am still shook. also the VIP swag was cute - it was the adorable DW bag, ARI lotion, a super cute dwt hat, the two pins, and the super cool holographic VIP lanyard! also during greedy, they shot ariana money out of confetti cannons it was SO AWESOME and they had huge pink balloons during sometimes, so obvi i snagged both of those things. so anyway, all in all, that was one of the most amazing nights of my entire life, i was so close to ari like i saw that highlight up close forreal. she is also the world’s fucking sweetest person and i adore her. such a queen, such an incredible concert and amazing performance!!!!!!

DWTS season 27 finale

I was so confused when I saw my last post said week 8 and thought for a moment I missed a week. Opening number - not a fan of this rendition of the song. There wasn’t a lot of dancing??

So I guess each finalist is re-performing their favourite dance?

Alexis and Alan - Argentine Tango Wasn’t impressed by this dance the first time around. It seems like Alexis didn’t hit her lines as well this time. She dances very soft - too soft for an AT - and now looked like she was just marking. Some of the ballet moves she didn’t complete her extensions. Lacked sharpness for the actual AT parts. 9-9-9 T27

Some thoughts while we are in advertisement break - this season wasn’t well planned. 2 double elims? 9 weeks only? Only a 1-night finale? Don’t get me wrong, I used to think the 2-night show was a tad unnecessary, but that was more because of all the random extra acts with random artists that I don’t know what affiliation they have to the show. 2 3-hour shows are too much, but if they were only doing a 1-night finale, I could deal with 3 hours, and more focus on the stars. Tom and Erin didn’t even have time to explain the show structure.

Bobby and Sharna - Hammer dance/cha cha Yeah I’m calling it Hammer dance because that’s all I remember about it. I saw more cha cha here than I remember form the original, not that it was well done. 8-8-8 T24 that is generous. I may not remember their original but this can’t have been much better. side note - I noticed Bobby and Sharna have matching shoes, which match Sharna’s hair too.

Dan and Shay perform their apparently new song that one of my roommates was listening to about 2 hours earlier.

Why of all things do we need this non-dance again? Or even just of all of Joe’s dances. This was his worst one.

Evanna and Keo - Tango Not surprised she picked this one. SLAY GIRL SLAY. I remember Evanna would sometimes get overexcited and hop into steps rather than just step. I didn’t remember anything specific to this dance, but if anything, this performance was super clean, felt grounded and intense without looking like she was hitting too hard. Amazing. 10-10-10 T30 Well deserved!! And a special message from Emma Watson! Did they cut the other messages? Cos I heard almost all the cast had messages for her.

Ayyy it’s the DWTS Swiffer ad! Love the dancing janitor.

Milo and Witney - Charleston These two are so cute. Milo blushed so hard when Witney told him she was proud of his progress. “And if we win, you will be the shortest female to have ever won - ” hahaha. I didn’t remember anything wrong from this dance the first time round, and nothing wrong with this round. His right foot doesn’t swivel as much as his left. just an observation. 10-10-10 T30

Pro tour number. There’s a stark difference in guys to girls. And almost all the male celebs joining? Yeesh

Juan Pablo redoes his AT. Tinashe sings “Fever” while surrounded by the guys. Wish she had more time with Brandon.

This finale is so whack that Erin can’t even say “D-W-T-S” right.

Freestyles time

Alexis and Alan oh, so it’s another contemporary-esque freestyle. Contemporary ain’t Alan’s forte. Can they stop cutting to the singers in the middle of the dancing? I think the ‘mountain’ set up hampered them because running up and down took away time from the dance, and the way the set was arranged also blocked them at times. Alexis’ posture was weird when they did that 2 bars of foxtrot-y stuff in the middle. She looked like she was falling out of the hold. The contemp parts felt kinda high-school-ish bar one jump. 10-10-10 T30

I guess one good thing about them trying to shovel this show into 2 hours is that I’ll have time to do work after this.

Bobby and Sharna Thought the spoken stuff worked well for Bobby. I wish they kept it with the dramatic lighting and not do the shiny birthday cake thing. Oh, you know there’s a problem when it’s the FREESTYLE and you have to cut away from the celeb do show some pros doing stuff. Bobby didn’t do a lot of dancing in this number, it was more of patterns and stuff happening around him. Whatever dance steps he did, he looked a bit frenzied. But he gets lifted by DeMarcus. And they have a false end, then do the flossing with Erin while Tom flosses his teeth so LOL. 10-10-10 T30 Really?? I think they just wanted to give everyone 30 for the freestyles.

The switch of Milo and Evanna’s positions for the second round would have been interesting if I didn’t already know the result.

Milo and Witney OH. MY. GOD. I am BLOWN AWAY. They did so many things that could have been tacky - umbrellas, the water platform - but they used it WELL. It was relevant to the song. It created mood and ambiance that complemented the dancing. There was bits of hip hop (the more animating, locking kind), bits of tango and AT, some contemporary, some jazz, and Milo did everything well. He had a stage presence from the beginning and again I felt maturity to contrast the youthfulness from his charleston. Showed off his versatility. I will make fun of Zombies for the rest of my life but Milo won me over with his dancing. 10-10-10 T 30 If the other dances got 30, this should have been like 50!!!!!!

Evanna and Keo A classic freestyle!! Great work for Keo’s first! The song was perfectly Evanna, not surprised it’s her favourite. They had some interesting shapes which weren’t what you would expect but it was uniquely Evanna and suited her well. I loved her energy and presence and character. Interesting camera angle at the end. i wish it didn’t cut out her footwork, but I enjoyed watching Evanna’s expressions. The set at the beginning is also great. 10-10-10 T30 Should also be wayyy higher given the other dances.

They didn’t even have time to announce 4th, 3rd. Maybe they would have if they didn’t have the final song montage. Even if that’s a nice song. Tom couldn’t even drag out the announcement as long as he normally would’ve.

And the winner is...BOBBY

What?!?! Guess he just had that many votes. Everyone is stunned. And he barely has time to make a speech because they are short for time.

Now, I’m happy for Bobby and I didn’t think he had a bad attitude. He seemed to genuinely enjoy the show, so I don’t want to see anyone complaining about him. Would I have prefered someone else win? Hell to the yes. Is it insane that with partners like Charlie White and James Hinchcliffe, Sharna only won the MBT with Bobby? Hell freaking yes. But the way some people are laying into him is classless and baseless. Congratulations to Bobby and Sharna.

Now per Kristyn Burtt, the rankings for the remaining 3 were Milo second, Evanna third, and Alexis 4th.

Not too surprised but a bit of an eyebrow raiser that Milo beat Evanna because she seems to have a bigger fanbase and slightly higher scores on average in the last few weeks, but maybe its the narrow voting windows that only favour US East coasters that worked in Milo’s favour. Alexis in fourth is dead right, even if Milo or Evanna won (which everyone was predicting/hoping), Bobby would have still beaten her.

Dancing with the Stars, Season 27 Finale

Some of you may have noticed that I did not post a Dancing with the Stars recap last week because I ended up not watching the episode! I’ve gotten lazy! What can I say? I just have to give a moment to “Grocery Store” Joe being eliminated. F-I-N-A-L-L-Y. I thought I could tuck his Right Said Fred “I’m Too Sexy” performance to the darkest recess of my mind, but it came back to haunt me tonight. Also, I knew that the vibe with Juan Pablo was off, and despite him being the best dancer on the show, there was just a “wow factor” that was missing which reflected in his scores. This is a popularity contest after all.

Overall, I feel pretty apathetic about this finale. By default, you could say that I’m rooting for Evanna Lynch but I feel so-so about that as well. I loved the opening number because I love marching bands and for a long time, I would semi-jokingly say that my favorite movie was “Drumline”. I also loved that Tom Bergeron was basically acting like Mickey Mouse at a Disney parade, I’m pretty sure that he sold his soul to Disney a long time ago.

I was so wrong about Alexis and Alan’s show romance being the nail in the coffin for her participation on the show. But I’m so glad this season is over because I never want to hear her describe how her and Alan not only dance with their bodies but with their hearts. Despite my complaining, I hope that their romance lasts longer than Val and Amber Rose’s romance from a few seasons back. I thought that their second time doing the “Swan Lake” Argentine Tango was a lot better than the first time around.

For their freestyle dance, I found out that Avril Lavigne is not dead. Other than their Lion King pride rock, I thought that their dance was kind of generic. Sorry! I said it! It looked good but It fell flat for me. The judges gave it a perfect score so, again, for the millionth time, what do I know?

A few weeks ago, I hated Bobby Bones, but as he described in his package, he grew on me like a “fungus”. I feel like even Sharna has more tenderness towards him. Watching him really feeling himself during the “hammertime” section of his Cha Cha was actually pretty sweet. Oh god, what has happened to me? I’m being so nice!

Bobby’s freestyle was fitting and entertaining and he barely had to dance! That’s working the system in your favor. I was wondering if Tom Bergeron got tooth gunk flossing on the dance floor? Do they have those floor wipers like at Basketball games? I wouldn’t want Milo to slip on a piece of Tom’s spinach salad from craft services!

Watching Evanna Lynch do her tango to “Disturbia”, I realized that I want her to win for Keo’s sake. Just give Keo a shot! Evanna’s freestyle was really energetic. I’ve always loved that Bjork song and it was nice to see it performed on DWTS. Also… KEO’S RED SWEAT SUIT WAS INCREDIBLE AND I WISH I WAS WEARING IT RIGHT NOW. GIVE THE RED SWEAT SUIT THE MIRROR BALL TROPHY! GOOD NIGHT!

The other day, I realized that Milo’s mom is the eager high school reunion organizer in Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion. How did it take me 10 weeks to realize that? Their Charleston was fun but I have to admit that I was super distracted by Robin Thicke’s face. He looks like he’s drinking a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon before bedtime pretty often.

I liked Milo’s freestyle. It was creative and a little edgy! They even channeled a Beyonce “Formation Tour” moment dancing in the water. It was good. See, I’m not hating everything, There are things that I do like!

I find all of this extra “stuff” in the finale unnecessary, let’s just get on with the show! However, I thought it was pretty interesting that “Grocery Store” Joe is joining the DWTS Live tour. You just don’t want to go home to your grocery store, huh, Joe? I was always happy to see Cheryl and Juan Pablo’s Argentine Tango since I missed it last week, it was pretty good.

So... Bobby Bones won? OK... sure... I can’t help but wonder if Alexis or Evanna even had a chance to win since they won’t be on the DWTS Live tour? Am I onto a conspiracy theory? Will I need to channel my inner Erin Brokavich next season and get to the bottom of this?

So that’s a wrap for this season! I’ve decided that since I’m no longer watching The Bachelor/The Bachelorette, that I will be doing recaps of Vanderpump Rules starting on December 3rd. Until then, xoxo my four faithful readers.

WEEK 7 RECAP: Country Night November 5, 2018

Country boy, I love yew lwaaaaah. After after we got an extensive opening number introducing the stars and music guests, we got dances. Tonight I realized that a big part of the show is the music and when all the country songs sound the same and they’re not even the best songs in the genre the whole episode feels dragged down and monotone. It was the weakest episode of the season so far. But there were highlights, like Dolly Parton in Fashion Nova’s Robin Hood collection in front of a circus mural.

After the dances we got two team dances. Team dances were picked dodge ball style by the two stars with the lowest scores. In the past the team dance with the higher score would be safe from elimination, but tonight the team dance scores had no effect so this was a waste. If the lowest scoring team would’ve been up for elimination Joe would’ve been in the bottom for once, but we didn’t get that lucky. 

Dances

John | jazz | 8 9 8

John is a country singer so he must’ve felt like a pig in shit. Not so fast. John pulled the sobbiest sob story of the season out of his flannel pocket and confessed he hasn’t seen his children in three years because of his divorce and every Monday he hopes his children are in the crowd. It was really raw moment and one of the few highlights of the night. It’s too bad he told this tragic story right before performing a jazz to “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” by John Denver and lost all composure. And then I think John adopted Tom Bergeron? It was strange and wonderful. 

Evanna | rhumba | 10 10 10

Evanna and Keo did an emotional rhumba to a song that gives Evanna all the feels because it reminds her of her ex. It wasn’t the best rhumba I’ve ever seen. I find that Keo overpowers his partners a little and Evanna still dances tentatively. But the song gave Evanna a chance to talk about a failed relationship and this show is all about digging up the past. This is also the point where the judges are deciding who they want in the finals and the scores can tell that.

Juan Pablo | charleston | 10 10 10

JP and Cheryl take a field trip to a square dancing saloon to get into the characters. The dance and the music didn’t mesh at all, but who cares because he is a sexy cowboy. JP can run me over with that truck, I don’t care. Again, the judges have made their mind up about who they like and don’t like and gave him scores to help secure his place in the finals. . 

Joe | tango | 7 7 7

In this week’s completely unrehearsed comedy bit, Joe is riding high from last week’s scores and has turned into an egotistical prick. We know he is prick because he is wearing sunglasses indoors like a John Hughes villain. This bit would’ve been cute if Joe was charming. They tangoed to a mad max Superbowl-inspired dance?? Joe tends to flirt with my nemesis Erin Andrews in the post-dance interview and it’s awkward as hell because his girlfriend is in the audience every night and Erin doesn’t reciprocate since she is married. 

Milo | Foxtrot | 10 9 10

Milo had trouble getting into the country spirit so he wrote a country song for his country-loving partner Witney. You know there is a problem when the country spoof song from the package is better than the song they danced to. To add dipping tobacco in the wound, we got a bunch of close-ups of the singer’s face during the dance. Either the DP is infatuated or the DP is trying to cover-up Milo’s mistakes. 

Cinnamarcus Roll | waltz | 9 9 9

This week Cinnamarcus Roll and Lindsay visited a farm for the sole reason of giving Cinnamarcus Roll a chance to talk about his farm upbringing because the package and their glitzy dance had nothing to do with each other. The dance was lovely, though. It had a wonderful soft intimacy to it and he danced less aggressively than in past dances. 

Alexis | samba | 9 10 10

And in this week’s installment of “Will They/Won’t They” Alan takes Alexis to ride a horse and accepted Alexis’ advances in form of a kiss. I was expecting a Jared Jewelers advertisement to flash across the screen at any moment. Len loved their hoedown samba and I’m not surprised because he likes boring dances. Maybe the dance was boring because she injured her rib. It’s amazing how her injury storyline was omitted in place of her romance storyline. 

Bobby | waltz | 8 8 8 

Bobby trudged through the dance floor like Pee Wee Herman sneaking into a movie theater, but it doesn’t matter because he was getting a good score no matter what. See, according Bobby he has the most popular country radio show in history, so there was no way the judges would make him look stupid on country night in front of his peers. 

Team Dances

Team Hay Now | 10 9 10

Evanna, Milo, John and Bobby danced a free style set in a farm because it’s country night! How original. It was very neat, but I wonder how much was easy choreography so that Bobby could keep up. 

Team Joe Down | 9 8 9

Pass the sarsaparilla because Alexis, Juan Pablo, Cinnamarcus Roll and Joe danced a freestyle set in a saloon. I feel like this dance was more difficult, but it didn’t look as neat as Team Hay Now. Whenever the choreography got too complicated Joe would either make a fool of himself or he would be set to the side like if he were punished.

All this tour talk and what she is going to do. When the last tour ended and I read her tour recap post, I remember thinking I think this might be her last tour. It was just how it read to me vs her one after the Summer tour. And there is a part of me that thinks when this season is over we are going to get a goodbye DWTS post. I know she said before this season she wanted to do a couple more years, but I'm unsure. I want her to win before leaving so I hope my gut feeling is wrong.

DWTS Athletes Week 3 Recap

I started writing these recaps for my mom way back in season 9 after I went to college and we weren’t watching together anymore. I love sharing them with you, but keep in mind that tumblr is not my intended audience as I write. OMG I’m so stressed out!!! Now that we know final 3, I have to assume either Josh or Adam will win. For them, I’d be happy with either. I love Adam so much. And Josh too, but especially Adam. BUT SHARNA!!!!! I just don’t know what I want. If Sharna ends up in second place AGAIN, I might just lose it…

Mirai and Alan - 9,9,8,9 - quickstep

I wish I could be disappointed to see them go tonight, but I’m really not. Josh and Sharna were the last to be called safe, so it could have easily been Mirai and Adam. The good news is that Alan will most likely be a pro now from here on out. I want to see him on a regular season. The dance was really good. It was a perfect dance to start off the night. There were a couple tiny spots where I thought she wasn’t quite quick enough, but it wasn’t much. I don’t think the 8 was necessary. There was a really cute little thing in her package with her parents that made her waaaaay more likable.

Jennie and Keo - 7,8,7,7 - Viennese waltz

I haven’t had any interest in her this season and I’m certainly not about to start now. It’s a shame when they waste good songs on subpar dancers, all thought I don’t really like this song. And like I already told you, the song was terrible. I didn’t even watch the dance. I probably should have. But there was a little Alan/Jenna/MERYL! trio coming back from the commercial and I’m still focused on that! Jennie seems like a nice enough person who could keep getting better. Shame she didn’t have enough time to do that.

I could have done without David as a guest judge. I love David, but they just don’t need guest judges. It’s so unnecessary.

Chris and Witney - 8,9,7,9 - foxtrot

Another one I didn’t get enough time with! I really wanted him to be in the final 3 over Tonya, but I’m hoping that maybe people who were voting for him will vote for Josh now. They had a fun and entertaining dance! I really liked it. Witney did a good job with this one. I’m going to keep saying how much I wish he was on a full season! He would have only continued to get better and better and I like him! This short season is garbage! But either Jenna or Sharna should win, so maybe I’ll like it after all! Len’s 7 doesn’t surprise me because the dance was a little theatrical, but it worked for the dance. Oh well. I’d say 8.5.

Tonya and Sasha - 8,9,8,8 - rumba

I think I might just go get some dessert now… Just read what I wrote about them in the battle round dance. I watched the dance, but muted everything else. The dance was fine. Don’t know if I muted it because of Tonya or Sasha at this point…

Adam and Jenna - 10,10,9,10 - contemporary

I’ve been waiting all night for this one! I already know it’s going to be amazing!!! I don’t know what Len’s problem is! Ahh I don’t have time to write anything and Josh and Sharna are coming! Quickly: The dance was so incredible, but not really my taste. Contemporary is Jenna’s thing for sure, but her contemporaries are a little too funky and weird for me. Just a little much. But for what the dance was, it was so amazing. So amazing. I love Adam so so so much and I would 110% would want him to win if Sharna wasn’t still there!

Josh and Sharna - 9,9,9,9 - contemporary

I wish they could have gotten at least one 10. Even if it was from David! Oh well. At least they made it to the finals!!! I just don’t know what to think about who I want to win. Like I said, I love Adam and I would be so happy to see him win (and I expect he probably will), but with Sharna also in the finals, what am I supposed to do??? NOT want her to win?! Not happening!!! I liked this dance more than Adam and Jenna’s just because it’s the kind of contemporary I prefer. He did a couple really crazy lifts that were so cool. I’m going to be very stressed out for the next week because I’m trying to prepare myself for Josh and Sharna getting second place. I want Adam to win. There’s no doubt about that. But it has to be Sharna for me. It just has to be. But I expect Adam and Jenna to win so I’m trying to prepare myself. I have to stay up past my bedtime and vote tonight because these are the votes for the winner!

Battles:

Tonya and Jennie

At least David has it figured out and chose Jennie. Then again, Tonya was undoubtedly better than Jennie. But I still don’t understand. Maybe I just don’t like her because I know I’m not supposed to. Maybe I would actually like her and be falling for it if I didn’t know any better. Then again, I don’t like Sasha either. Apparently he’s been causing all sorts of childish drama on twitter (I would know because I’m very hip) because Adam doesn’t like Tonya (obviously) and has made that known. Although he’s not being super harsh. He’s just telling it like it is like he does. But then Sasha has been posting weird tweets about rude comments coming from his coworkers. So then Val jumps in and starts posting similar things because he’s obviously not going to let someone talk about Jenna’s partner like that. Just a lot of drama and Sasha is coming across like a 5 year old. And then everyone went to Maks and Val’s tour last night because they were somewhere in the area and Sasha sat at home posting pictures of Emma’s mirrorball like it’s his own and like Maks and Val and Peta don’t already have plenty… Anyways…. I didn’t watch the dance because I didn’t care and I’m still all worked up from Josh and Sharna.

Adam and Mirai

There was a live “America’s vote” during the battles and Adam won with 64% of the vote. That was the biggest difference between any of the three groups. Good. I wanted Alan to do well, but I don’t like Mirai. And if Alan not making the finals means that Josh and Sharna do, I definitely won’t miss Alan for the next week. Oh well! I’m so excited to see Meryl back! One of the best! This was a very good battle and very close. You’ll definitely have to watch it.

Josh and Chris

Glad Josh won! He might really need those two bonus points next week! Although I’m getting confused and I don’t even know if the scores matter for next week?! But they must because it’s the finals! Who knows… Anyways… Chris actually won “America’s vote” which I didn’t expect. Although I said before that Chris is the one person I would have wanted to see on a full length season and I haven’t changed my mind. I really really like him. I’m so sad we only got 3 weeks to get to know him! I can’t even explain how fun this was! Just watch it! You’ll love it!

Wait until you see Sharna’s face when her and Josh made it through to the finals! She knew they were going home and was all prepared for it and she was SHOCKED!!!

Reading your recap, which I asked for btw, and wondering if you understand the premise of the show or have watched any other interviews? It’s a dance forum. Hayley’s interview was all about SYTYCD and DWTS also. The only thing she has done outside of SYT and DWTS is her boyfriends tour. That’s because these two were 18 when they were on SYT then either went directly to DWTS, Jenna, or Move Live then DWTS, Hayley. You’re welcome for making you listen. I knew you were a fan.

Obvious you missed where I said Hayley's were better. Yes they're gonna talk about DWTS and SYT but not for 97% of the show. With Hayley they talked about her doing the Move tour at a young age and the struggle of being a dancer in LA. With Jenna they talked about how hard it is being off for one season to pursue acting and that didn't even happen. Don't be mad cause your fav is boring. Thanks for the input

DWTS Live Tour Recap 2020

Whew....this day has been a doozy between lack of sleep and a weird ass day at work.  This years tour was a vastly different experience than in the past because Mother Nature is a raging beeotch.... but it was still so amazing!  Details below the break to save y’alls timelines some grief. 

We started off our day at work and school.  I had known, and bitched extensively, about the 100% rain outlook but it was pretty sunny all day.  I picked Abs up at early release and I swear to you...the second the car door shut, the sprinkles started.  Because of course it did.  We got ready and went for some lunner only to be caught in INSANE traffic.  Fun fact, Floridians can’t drive in the rain and there was a fatal accident on a major bridge that shut it down and made traffic a nightmare.  No biggie though, because it was nasty out and we knew they weren’t just going to be wandering downtown so we were in no rush.  We got downtown about 4 and we started wandering.

We stopped and chatted with the nicest security lady who, bless her heart, was sitting there between the buses huddled under a golf umbrella.  She said she hadn’t seen anyone in quite a while (probably because they were inside teaching the show to Keo) but that if we had been there at 7am they were all outside chillin and going to work out and such.  We did a lap then stood under the awning at the front of the arena for a bit.

During our laps we saw Keo (who was limping something fierce...like I wasn’t sure he was going to make it up the steps to the arena limp...looked like he pulled a hammy) but due to the sprinkling and the running buses he either didn’t hear us or pretended to not hear us.  We also saw Val, possibly Jenna (hood was pulled over her to her eyes), Daniella, and Wit.  Everyone but Wit was doing the mad dash into the arena from the buses.  Wit was in full hair and makeup and talked to Abs for a second as she was entering her bus...Abs didn’t ask for a picture because Wit clearly wanted to get into the dry and not mess herself up.  We did a couple more laps then standing under the awning loops then met up with @loveisstatic​.

We decided to take a lap but didn’t see anything....sigh.  After a pretty epic battle over the fact that Haley said she also “liked” Alan....as in, he’s a good dancer, which “someone” took as “Imma steal your man”. 

We went in the arena and went to the merch table where Abs refused a tour tshirt because Hannah was on it...lol.  I was trying to get a cute pic of Abs and her 10 paddle....but home girl was trying to make sure she wasn’t standing next to Hannah ffs....

Then we went to get drinks (ha for Haley) and were very quickly let in to our seats.  Haley was actually only a couple rows in front of us, so we were able to chat before the show and during intermission.  The show is, of course, absolutely amazing!  It has a cute “theme” of driving the bus on tour and the voice overs were cracking me up.  After the Magic Mike number, Jen talks to the lady rubbing up on Val.  The poor lady clearly either has zero idea who the two of them are or has lost her senses due to all the testosterone filled sweat on her person.  Jen “You know, I recently got married”  Lady “Oh, congratulations!!!”  Jen “Yeah, that man you were just grinding and rubbing and smacking on....that’s my husband”  Lady “OMG!”  Jen “Yeah, his name is Val.  I’ll let it slide this time (then whatever the script is)”.  The lady was so embarrassed.  It was funny.  There was the absolute cutest little girl in the front row that Val came out and talked to.  She’s on the DWTS Tour story.  That section of the show was pretty awesome, actually.  I loved his speech about breaking the tv barrier and coming to do shows live to all of us who were gracious enough to invite them into our homes every Monday night.  Abs fave dance was Daddy Shark (I’ll steal her video and post it later....we can’t have enough reposts of that gem) and anything that had Alan and mine was the entire Hero section at the end where they’re wearing white (for the dancing) and Dream On (for the music).  Actually, the dance where they’re passing the key to the tour around was pretty awesome, too.  Then, it comes to intermission and Abs starts bitching about being hungry.  I told her sorry (she’s not a popcorn or nut fan and that’s all they really had) and she starts made some wildly and embarrassing comments about want candy...Alan’s candy complete with eyebrow waggles and cackling.  I think that it was at that point that our new friend decided that kid is a hot damn mess.  Jenna’s swan dive is absolutely amazing in person....mostly for the reaction it causes.  I, of course, knew it was coming but the lady next to me literally slap/grabbed her husband and whisper yelled “OH SHIT!”.  After the show, the adults in the group had to pee.  The teenager in the group just bitched that we were going to make her late to the buses.  (This is a very important fun fact for later.)  They have some weird ass security dude on tour this year who had some rule where the crowd standing (couldn’t have been more than 20 of us) had to scrunch into the space of 2 of those metal fence things as opposed to the other 57000 of them lining the buses.  Every 5 min or so, he’d waltz out and yell at us to “get on this side of the line.  No one can be between the buses”...except none of us moved after the first few times.  He was intense and a good time fun ruiner.  Kept trying to tell us that the police were going to see us standing at his one of his non approved fences (the same ones we’ve stood at for 2 other tours) and “shut the whole thing down”.  Sure, Stan.  Evenutally, he stopped fussing and Kate came out. 

She is a gem, honestly.  Super sweet and funny as hell.  Love me some her.  After Kate went in, it was cold and SOMEONE in our group had to pee (remember that fun fact....ha).  Val came out and got into the runner van and scooted off to the airport.  There was much discussion of how we knew it was him and how we knew where he was going.  Sasha came out and we talked to him and got pics.

I gave him all my notes and Glebs drugs because we thought we were going to have to leave.  He said he’d pass them out for me.  We were deciding to leave when Emma popped out of the bus all “Which one of you gave the Benadryl to Gleb?  That was bloody brilliant!”.

We took pics with her and decided to stick around for a bit more because Abs needed  wanted to see Alan.  Thankfully, he came out shortly after and turned on the front camera flash I didn’t even know I had.

After Alan came Wit and Daniella and thankfully that was it.

The grumpy security dude told us all to leave and I think everyone was ready.  We were stacked like 6 people deep having to shove up to the front for pics as the pros were like “WTF is wrong with these weirdos in Jacksonville and why aren’t they standing over at all these other perfectly decent fences”.  Like, they’d move over to the fence to the left to take pics and we’d all be like “NO!  We aren’t allowed!”.  It was cold and it was a week night and everyone was pretty much over the foolishness at that point.  What was cool about the night was I got to not only meet up with a fun tumblr friend, but there were a few of us at the buses that have started recognizing each other from other tours.  The girl Brandon pulled on stage recognized Abs and me and then I recognized a dude we’ve seen each year.  Funny story, the girl (who is a huge Derek stan) and I were talking about how pretty Gleb is (after the Benadryl thing) and she was talking about Brandon and having to touch his butt on stage.  She’s all “I mean, it’s a nice butt, but he’s just too cute to rub up on”.  She’s not wrong, he is just the cutest thing in person....just not in a sexy Daddy Shark type way.  Anyways, another tour down.  Plans to see MVPJ with a new friend and bus stalk at the “next tour” with the other bus stalkers.  Can’t wait till next time!

Dancing With The Stars 2009 Week 7 Recap: Joanna Krupa At Top Of Leaderboard

Dancing With the Stars followers are psyched about the large Season 9 premiere. In the meantime, right here's a opportunity to get acquainted with the partners, weigh their chances for success, and catch up on the very newest DWTS information. Strap in simply because this appears to be a bumpy, yet exciting season! The current frontrunners are: resource, Mya, Donny Osmond adopted by Natalie Coughlin, Mark Decascos and perhaps Kelly Osbourne if she can bring up the level of her dancing once more. Dancing With The Stars Recap Drama: A Cocky Job Interview And The Base Couples

Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson - Much respect to Donny Osmond for dancing up a storm despite the reality that he has an insanely active schedule (his Vegas show operates four evenings a 7 days). Donny and Kim pulled off an amazing Argentine Tango and it was mirrored in their rating - an incredible 29, the highest of the period. Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff. you could check here has toured the globe and sold millions of information as a teen pop sensation. He is currently the youngest solo artist to have 4 Leading 40 singles. His partner Karina Smirnoff has been competing on DWTS because Period 3, and completed in second location with partner Mario Lopez. Her other partners include Billy Ray Cyrus, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Rocco DiSpirito, Mario and Steve Wozniak. Simply because of Aaron's youth, this couple might battle, but on the other hand, they might shock even the toughest critics. Their future on DWTS could go both way. Remain tuned.

I will admit to being exhausted of great dancers like Cheryl Burke, Edyta Swilinska, Jonathan Roberts, and Tony Dovolani being paired with celebrities that ensure them an early drop out. On the other hand, it's enjoyable to watch "So You Think You Can Dance" alumnus Dmitry Chaplin, Chelsie Hightower, and Lacey Schwimmer strut their substantial skills on the floor.

Case in stage, singer Mya and design Joana Krupa. These women are undeniably great dancers and probably the leaders of the competition. But who cares? Many viewers don't know enough about them to get invested and root for them.

Hamilton's father, George Hamilton was a contestant on the second period of "DWTS". He came in fifth location. I had the chance to inquire Ashley Hamilton about his casting on this season's display. If nothing else, Ashley inherited 1 thing from his famous father, George: the smile. He did a decent job with the footwork, but it truly didn't do a lot to stand out from the group. With a four from Bruno, Ashley completed with a 15. He also was last in his team salsa. He's just not exciting, and I'm really not sure he desires to be there; for that purpose, he should be the male contestant to depart on Wednesday.
