There’s something wrong with me. I was so excited to see this photo. Yeah, of course, for the obvious reasons. But also because it confirmed and showcased an alteration that has been done to Taemin’s clothes so he’s less likely to split his trousers.
Tumblr media
Taemin in his pleather pants at his Metamorph concert, 2023.
He’s got crotch gussets. Such a sexy term, I know. Basically, it’s a long triangular piece of fabric that’s stitched from the crotch down into the trouser legs. This provides some extra depth to allow for a fuller range of movement during squats, lunges, etc.
Tumblr media
The gusset is that piece of pleather, pieced inside those red lines.
Sometimes it’s made of matching stretch fabric, and sometimes it’s the same fabric as the trousers. The width and length of the triangle can vary based on the amount of extra ease required for the specific movements. In this specific pair, the gusset is truncated at the zippered knee so there’s no point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jinki during the Your Number Performance Video (Black Version) showcasing a beautiful example of a gusset
During a fitting, it’s important to have the performer do all of their most extreme moves to make sure things don’t bunch or bind. Since we don’t normally get…excellent crotch shots…of Taemin, like that one, I can’t tell how common it is for him to get these gussets.
If it’s a shopped garment and not custom built (I’m assuming the Metamorph pair is custom) and they have the money, it’s possible they could purchase two pairs. They could then cannibalize one pair simply to make perfectly matching gussets.
If the trouser hem is taken up quite a bit, it may also be possible to use that fabric to make some.
It's also notable that the seams in these trousers are “flat felled.” That’s the type you typically see on jeans. It’s topstitched twice so it’s a very strong seam, which also helps to prevent split crotches.
Tumblr media
You can see the beautifully done flat felled seams at this intersection of center front seam, front and back leg, and gussets. It's so pleasing to me!
Tumblr media
Here's what a flat felled seam looks like. Hefty jeans seam. Big, beefy jeans seam.
Perhaps his most famous “blowout” was during the 2012 performance of Sherlock at the KBS year end music show. But he’s pretty famous for them in general.
Tumblr media
That's just impressive
I’m not quite sure when Taemin’s styling team started incorporating crotch gussets into his costumes…my research is pretty spotty.
There is one instance during his Danger era in 2014 where he had a sort of gusset installed, however, it lacked a center front seam. This, along with the fact that his trousers were riding low, didn’t provide the correct…body geometry, to broadly explain it, to really help. It was also very wide and not tapered, which widened his whole trouser leg. It was also not stitched securely enough to keep from popping open at the center front. But this is the first attempt I've seen trying to accommodate his issues.
Tumblr media
You can see how it lacks the refinement and finesse of the future "generations" of gussets.
There were at least two instances of Taemin splitting his trousers in 2016 at a DxDxD concert and a Drip Drop live performance. His striped DxDxD suit definitely did not have gusset, and I’m unsure about the latter. I think it’s interesting that they tried a gusset on him two years prior, then didn’t again. Except….
Tumblr media
Taemin's gusset-less suit which he wore during Shinee's DxDxD concert in 2016, which split during the show.
All of SHINee had crotch gussets in their Your Number suits in 2016. I wrote a whole thread about that here.
Tumblr media
So basically, I’m confused. It seems like the usage of gussets in Taemin’s trousers was very sporadic.
I haven’t seen more recent examples of either gussets or split trousers, other than the Metamorph trousers. But I haven't been able to get good views of most of the things he's worn over the last 7 years. This could mean that his team has begun to incorporate gussets into more of them, or we just don’t know about the blow-outs. Or I haven't done enough research. I got a good view of the inner legs of his blue satin suit in the Idea MV and I didn’t see anything. Same with his black Criminal trousers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nope?
Wearing trousers high on one’s waist and very close to their body helps a great deal. You can see that in the blue satin Idea trousers. That way, the loose fabric doesn’t stretch more than it should as the legs splay apart and cause ripping. The styling team may have made sure to do that more. It’s possible that they could have also made sure to incorporate more stretch into the trousers they buy (or possibly, occasionally, make) for him.
Tumblr media
Taemin's Kcon look. You can see how the trousers go nearly all the way up to his "natural waist" (which is where you crease when you bend to your side.) That helps keep them up to where they need to be, preventing a saggy crotch, which, in turn, prevents rips.
Working with performers for many years, one gets to know the idiosyncrasies and patterns of the way they move in their clothing. I worked with one performer in musical theatre who was infamous for splitting his trousers. We searched for matching fabric before we even tried on his trousers for the first time, knowing he would be getting gussets.
All this is to say, I applaud the stylist team for making these accommodations for Taemin. He, more than anyone, needs these alterations to give him peace of mind to perform "full out" and stay rip free!
Here’s a bonus 9 minute compilation of Taemin ripping his trousers. Serial Pants Ripper Taemin. (Cw: The last bit is uncomfortable, featuring some prompting from hosts for Minho to touch Taemin’s butt to see if it was pointy, which was preferable to the host doing so.)

Non No Magazine October issue 2016
Taemin has mentioned that his face shape and body type people call ‘pure/innocent’ he got from his mom, while hot-blooded character from his dad. His hyung is very caring and they are like friends but their personalities are different/opposite - hyung is very outgoing and sociable. When Taemin has started dancing he was also into it. People used to say that hyung dances well so Taemin was competitive from the beginning as he didn’t want to lose.
Taemin’s parents were invited to SHINee World 2016: DxDxD Special Edition in Kyocera Dome. His mother commented “better not to style your bangs up”, but Taemin doesn’t listen to his mom’s advice (t/n: Taemin’s mom prefers hair down style)
With Adam and Eve I feel like a king! I tease them with snacks in my hands or trick them by having nothing there. Adam is full of aegyo, he welcomes the guests by wiggling his butt and tail. Does he know he’s cute? Though there is problem with him since he tends to like guests more than Taemin. Eve is very quick-witted, when he pees by mistake and knows Taemin will scold him he disappears. They both are very cute and are a part of the family.
My friends are pranksters, I’d rather do a prank myself than be pranked. Though when they need help I’ll be right there no matter what - when a friend attending local college got depressed because of a break up I drove three hours to see him and cheer him up.
About members: I’m the youngest but we are like friends. I make suggestions about parts of performance I’m in charge/good at, f.e. about dancing. Each of the members has his own strength, Onew and Jonghyun - singing, Minho - acting, Key - fashion. Key is smart so I learn even from just listening to him talking with staff. 2. check - I DIDN'T KNOW THIS SONG WAS ON THIS ALBUM IT IS ONE OF THE FINEST GG B SIDES IN HISTORY IT'S SUCH PLEASING RNB POP IT'S SO CATCHY!!!!!!!! i was OBSESSED with this song in high school one of my darker moments was starting a draft of modern au eliza hamilton fanfiction inspired by this song and also wicked when i was 15.
3. you think - unexpected darker sound!!!! gorgeous!!!!! rnb!!! i've heard this song before i didn't know it was on this album!! the production is such interesting polished rnb it's darker in tone but still playful with those sparkling synths and layered vocals. the vocals really shine god this song is GOOD!!! "boy you think you're real cool, you ain't cooler than me!!!"
4. one afternoon - i had this liked already but i don't remember when. it's latin jazz/bossa nova type easy listening instrumentation with a ballad melody it's really great. the piano and guitar are wonderful. and the strings come in and with the melody it's sounding like a musical theater number i love it.
5. party - HEY GIRLS DO U KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS ITS PARTY TIME. TIFFANY MY LOVE. i've heard this song too. it's excellent. the bass line is rly good. such a fun summer song.
6. sign - the beat is retro and fun and amaaazing.
7. fire alarm - this sounds like a shinee japanese track actually! like it could be on shinee's album dxdxd. i love the bass. it's a classic kpop sound.
8. show girls - my first thought was foreshadowing for tiffany being in chicago. it's so fun it's so good. the abrupt changes in mood just make it feel more musical theater. love the sighing harmonies in the back. this song was designed for a live show.
youtube
behold, perfection.
9. bump it - hold up i need my girls for this TIFFANY MY LOVE. tiffany 🤝 key iconic english lines.
10. paradise - not a skip but not a stand out track. has some rly good vocal moments but that's normal for soshi.
11. talk talk - RNB!!!!!!! it gets a little old by the 2 minute mark tho.
12. green light - kind of generic gg track. tho like snsd pioneered this sound so it's just typical and almost required of them to have one of these every album
this album is absolutely fantastic there's impressive vocals on every single track and there's only 3 skips on this total even when i'm at most picky.

Oh my god I’m not dead?!?! Sorry guys, I’ve been meaning to get back to our regularly scheduled SNUPER blogging, but I’ve just been so busy. Soon, I promise…
So I was tagged by @multyfan1458 to show off my albums, now you all can see what a problem I have… I hope you guys are ready for the long haul 😅😅😅
I keep them in one of those storage cube shelf things (ignore the “It’s Raining” poster behind it, it feel off the wall and I have yet to put it back up). So the first picture is how I have them stored on a daily basis, and then I took a better picture of the CDs in each cube (if you guys want to know what photocards I have, that’s a post for a different day)
The first cube is my B1A4 cube! I have “Let’s Fly”, “It B1A4”, “Ignition”, “Ignition Special Edition”, “In the Wind”, “What’s Happening?”, “Who Am I” (group ver. and Sandeul ver. - I’m on the look out for the other four versions if any know where I can find them), both versions of “Solo Day”, all three “Sweet Girls”, and all three versions of “Rollin’” (I also have “Good Timing”, but it’s in a later cube)
I like to call my second cube my “Rookie cube”. It has my SNUPER, KNK, and single ASTRO CD. For SNUPER I have “Shall We”, “Platonic Love”, “Compass”, “Rain of Mind”, both versions of “I Wanna?”, “유성” (I’m not sure what the title in English is”, “Dear”, “Tulips”, and “Stand By Me”. For KNK, it’s “Knock”, “Awake”, “Remain”, “Gravity”, and “Gravity, Completed”. And then the only ASTRO CD I have is “Dream Part. 01”
The third cube is my SEVENTEEN cube. I have “17 Carat”, “Boys Be”, “Love & Letter”, “Love & Letter Repackaged”, “Going Seventeen”, “AL1”, “Teen, age”, and “Director’s Cut”
The fourth cube is a mix. The first group is BOYFRIEND, and from them I have “Boyfriend”, “Love Style”, “Don’t Touch My Girl”, “I’ll Be There”, “Janus”, “I Yah!”, “Witch”, “BOYFRIEND in Wonderland”, and both versions of “Never End” (I need to get “Obsession” to complete my BOYFRIEND collection). And in this cube I also have “My Copycat” from Orange Caramel. And then the last group in this cube is NU’EST/NU’EST W. From them I have “Face”, “Action”, “Hello”, “Sleep Talking”, “Re:Birth”, “Q is”, “Love Pain”, “W, Here”, and “Who•You”
The next cube is where I put my favourite signed CDs. So here I have “Platonic Love” by SNUPER (yes I have two “Platonic Love” CDs), “Good Timing” by B1A4, and “First Sensibility” by B.A.P
The sixth cube is for Monsta X. Here I have “Trespass”, “Rush”, “Lost”, “Guilty”, “Beautiful” (Brilliant and Beside vers.), “Shine Forever”, “The Code”, and “The Connect”
The seventh cube is the SM cube. From EXO I have “Miracles in December”, “EX’ACT”, “The War: The Power of Music”, and “Universe” and I also have Lay’s solo CDs “Lose Control” and “Sheep”. I have f(x)’s “Pink Tape”, SHINee’s “DxDxD”, Super Junior’s “Mamacita” and “Replay” albums. As well as Ryeowook‘s “The Little Prince” and Yesung’s “Here I Am”. And then the last CD in this cube is “2011 SMTown Winter: The Warmest Gift” (it’s just SM artist singing Christmas music)
The eight cube is a mix. In this one I have VIXX’s “Voodoo”, “Chained Up”, “Boys’ Record”, “Kratos”, “VIXX 2016 Conception Ker”, and “Eau de VIXX”, Day6’s “The Day”, “Daydream”, “Sunrise”, and “Moonrise”, miss A’s “Independent Woman pt. III”, INFINITE’s “Infinitize” and “Reality”, and Girl’s Day’s “Expectation”
The final cube is also a mix. Here I have Eric Nam’s “Interview”, FT ISLAND’s “Five Treasure Box” and “I Will”, CNBLUE’s “Re:Blue”, “Can’t Stop”, and “Blueming”, Pentagon’s “Demo_01”, Demo_02”, and “Positivity”, and finally B.A.P’s “Noir”, “Rose”, “Blue”, and “Ego”
So as I said earlier, it’s a problem. But I love each and every one of them dearly. If anyone else what’s to show off their collection, tag me in it, I’d love to see!!!!

So tonight I showed my boyfriend a little bit of kpop. This is only part one of me showing him. He watched the videos and I also had him try and guess my bias from each group. He saw videos from SHINee, Taemin, Big Bang, Red Velvet, NCT 127, B1A4 and BlackPink. I told him he could give his honest thoughts on each video as long as he wasn’t being an asshole. The only exception to this was SHINee for obvious reasons. Here’s some of the things he said:
(When watching Bang Bang Bang)
Me:so who do you think is my bias?
Him: it better not be the guy with the pink hair! I don’t like him!
(When watching Fantastic Baby, right after BBB)
Me:so this is the same group you just saw.
Him:FUCKING HOW
(When watching Danger by Taemin)
Him:that thing in his nose has to go
Boy saw all Taemins comebacks and had to be told each one was Taemin.
(When watching DxDxD after seeing all of Taemins solo work)
Me:so who’s my bias? Do you recognize anyone?
My mom:I’ll give you a hint, it’s the guy with the pink hair
Him:I don’t recognize anyone?
Me:that’s Taemin
Him:THATS TAEMIN? HES IN A GROUP TOO?
(When watching 1 of 1 right after dxdxd)
Me:ok who’s my bias?
Him: *picks key*
Me:this is the same group you just watched
Him:WHAT HOW? WHY DO THEY NEVER LOOK OR AOUND THE SAME?
Me:they don’t have to. It’s pretty common for them to change hair styles and concepts for each comeback
Him: I see why Taemin is your UB. Taemin is everywhere.
(When watching Limitless)
Me:who’s my bias?
Him:the one in the hockey jersey. Obviously.
Me:he’s not my favorite because he’s wearing a hockey jersey. That was just a bonus.
(When watching Cherry Bomb)
Me:this is the same group you just saw. See if you can find Johnny.
Him:wait that guy is Johnny? THAT GUY IS JOHN SEO?
Me:....yeah
Him:We finally meet John Seo, my enemy.
So far his favorites are SHINee and B1A4. TUNE IN NEXT TIME TO SEE HOW MANY MORE VIDEOS IT TAKES TO GET MY BOYFRIEND TO DUMP ME

Experimental SHINee - Feature Spotlight
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello babies, and welcome to the next Feature Spotlight in the SHINee Spotlight series!! My name is Jace (aka Felicity B), and today we're gonna be taking a slow drive through SHINee's more experimental era. This era in SHINee's career actually features my first SHINee comeback (Dream Girl, dahlings), so I am The Most Excited™ for this FSL!! It feels like Dream Girl dropped ten years ago, rather than just five, but I guess that's what K-Pop does to you.
And in case anyone is wondering why I'm going in reverse chronological order, it's because 1of1 and Misconceptions of Me are my favorite SHINee albums.
Era Spotlight
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I cheated. I really should have featured from DxDxD in this list instead of ones from FIVE, but I don't really like DxDxD!?!??! It's literally my least favorite SHINee album, sis. FIVE, to be frank with you all, fit more in line with the '90s 5HINee era, but it also fits in this experimental era pretty well.
The name of the game here is experimental, folks. SHINee must have gotten a little bored after they decided to go RnB again after LUCIFER. The bulk of the songs on this list were released in 2013, a year that SHINee really pushed the boundaries of who they were as a group, and I almost kind of miss it. Granted, I loved the maturity in sound they came back with on Odd and 1of1 (the former more than the latter, tbh), but this experimental phase was just a fun time to be a SHINee fan. This list includes songs from both Misconceptions albums, the Everybody mini album, and the previously mentioned Japanese album FIVE.
youtube
Spoiler (Misconceptions of You ~Dream Girl~)
Gurl... SHINee was not fuckin' around with us with Spoiler.
Spoiler is a song that Jonghyun wrote incorporating all the song titles from the Misconceptions series in the lyrics. And sis, I was like, "This is cute, or whatevahs!!" when he spoiled the tracklisting for Misconceptions of You, but when Misconceptions of Me dropped and we found out he spoiled that too?!?!?! My wig wasn't just lopsided, she was free floating in space.
SHINee really fucking Did That™ with Spoiler, sis.
Spoiler sounds like someone took Sherlock, and turned her into a vampire. Spoiler is Sherlock's darker and more seductive older sister. It's kind of interesting how they kicked off the Misconceptions series with Spoiler, a song that starts out like their previous title track, but with a dark twist. It's almost like they were making a statement, sis. This SHINee is New and Improved™ SHINee. This SHINee is Upgraded™ SHINee. SHINee 2.0, if you will. We snatched you with RnB/Funk, we snatched you with EDM, and now we're gonna snatch you with both. Enjoy!!
Symptoms (Everybody)
I imagine sex feels like what listening to this song feels like.
Symptoms is an eletro-RnB song that sounds like it was snatched right from the Billboard Top 40. Which doesn't surprise me, because it was produced by the Underdogs (who also produced EXO's Overdose, another song that's dripping in that Top 40 sound from the time). Symptoms is a song that starts out loud and proud; it gives you Drama™, and it gives zero fucks about it. She looks at you without a care in the world and says, "My name is Symptoms, what did you expect!?!?! A cutesy pop track?!?!?! Boi, if you don't get!!"
And mind you, that's what I love about ha.
I fucking love a SHINee song that gives us all the bells and whistles, because they really don't have to. Look at Odd Eye - she's as stripped back as it gets for RnB midtempos, but SHINee still Shine Bright Like A Diamond!! But here's the thing - these dramatic ass niggas love songs like these. You can't tell me these SHINee boys don't love a beat with all the bells and whistles; the way they always come correct on songs like these says it all.
Become Undone (FIVE)
Speaking of songs that lack bells and whistles, Become Undone is not one of them. You'd have to be a Fool™ to think a song titled Become Undone on a Japanese record could be a toned down track.
These types of songs are usually the most dramatic.
Become Undone is an angsty song. She's a song I can see playing during a scene where an anime protagonist has to make an extremely hard decision. Like, intentionally stepping into a trap to save your friends, or deciding between saving your loved ones or the world (don't look at me like that, you guys have seen Sailor Moon).
The main star of the show here is the chorus. That's true of most pop songs, but especially so for Become Undone. She features The SHINee Specialty™ (their ridiculous ability to blend their harmonies together like fuckin' buttah), the trap beats presented in the verse kicked up 10,000 for Maximum Drama™, and orchestral stabs that tie everything together. Become Undone has one of the most emotionally satisfying choruses I've heard in a pop song. Sis, I'm literally the INTENSIFIES meme listening to this song, it's just so good.
I'm really glad that groups like SHINee have had the pleasure of working with a Japanese team to release music in Japan, because it allows them to play with their sound in a way that they can't in Korea. And that's not to say that SHINee haven't played with their sound in Korea (this FSL is literally on the era they experimented with their sound the most), but there's certain sounds and textures that are specifically J-Pop in feel, and it's really cool to see a group like SHINee tap into that.
Orgel (Misconceptions of Me ~Why So Serious~)
Okay sis, now we're actually bringing it down a notch. Not for long, but I figured y'all could use a break, even if it's short lived.
Orgel is a song that's quite similar to Odd Eye in the fact that it's SHINee driving the song with their vocal performance, and the beat is going along for the ride. Orgel also features a melody that sounds like a something you'd hear in a music box, and while that motif is quite overused in pop music, it doesn't make Orgel feel played out. It's just a really pretty song from five really pretty boys.
Orgel is a really neat song, because even though SHINee are driving the song with their voice, they're really not doing a whole lot on the beat. Their vocal performance on Orgel is subtle in the same way the beat is (or rather, as subtle as these boys get), but they still stand out. It's an interesting experience, sis.
Queen of New York (Everybody)
Now this is A Song™, sis.
Queen of New York feels very lounge cafe, sis; she's very "let me sip my expensive coffee drink while I read the latest copy of Cosmo or OK! Magazine". Queen of New York is also very much something the drag queens are voguing to at the local gay club. Miss Queen of New York is a woman of many moods, okay?!?!?!
Queen of New York was a very fun surprise, because I don't think anyone was expecting a song quite like this on the Everbody mini album. She's very edgy, but in a way that you don't expect songs described as "edgy" to sound. Queen of New York has a very polished feel to her, but there's a dirtiness to her that you can't tame. She's a proper Upper Middle Side woman, but she's not afraid to take a walk on the wild side. She's not afraid to show you how to get down, and I just love that so much.
One Minute Back (Everybody)
This is also A Song™, babes.
One Minute Back is grungy, sis. She's not a proper Upper Middle Side woman, she's a punk rock/biker girl with a flair for the dramatic. Ain't nothin' polished here, ladies!! Well, SHINee's vocals are pretty polished, but that's a given. I've never heard a SHINee song where the vocals weren't produced to a T.
But despite that, Ms One Minute Back and Ms Queen of New York are happily married!!
One Minute Back, like Queen of New York, was a song I was pleasantly surprised to hear on Everybody. One Minute back has such grungy verses, but then the chorus and the bridge are so Funky and so SHINee. BUT THE TWO DIFFERENT VIBES BLEND TOGETHER LIKE IT'S NOTHING!! It's such an aurally pleasing experience, you guys!! The reason I compared One Minute Back to Queen of New Year is that they're both marry these two moods to amazing results. I mean, Queen of New York doesn't fully commit to the grunginess, but there's enough of it lying below the surface that it's worth mentioning.
ABOAB (FIVE)
Ms ABOAB is a Bad Bitch™. She's a Boss Bitch™. She has no time for your games, boo. Ms ABOAB is a brazen ElectroFunk number that makes no apologizes.
If SHINee wanted to make a record like Everybody for the Japanese market, ABOAB would have been the title track/lead single. Miss ABOAB is spicy. She's seductive. Miss ABOAB is full on club bounce, and I McFucking L O V E when SHINee do those kinds of songs. There's just something so sexy about them working that club vibe, sis. I lowkey wasn't ready for ABOAB, but she really didn't care. She mesmerizes with the way she flits between emphasizing her Funk and Electro elements.
And that damn drop with the horn line... BITCH!! My wig has been compromised.
Runaway (Misconceptions of You ~Dream Girl~)
Runaway is another ElectroFunk track, but brighter and poppier in a way that contrasts ABOAB quite nicely. It's no less fun and club ready, tho.
Runaway is mainly driven by a punchy synth stab and SHINee's very fun usage of their vocal harmonies. While Miss ABOAB would whip ha weave in ya face if you ever tried to talk to her, Miss Runaway would make silly faces at you and coax you into doing silly dances. I, always and forever, wanna see SHINee in concert, but I especially wanna see Runaway and ABOAB performed live, because they always do these types of club ready tracks Just Right™.
Hitchhiker (Misconceptions of You ~Dream Girl~)
Because God Knows^™ these boys can't not give us a track that channels the very essence of MJ and his weave.
If Spoiler was too gimmicky of a sequel to Sherlock for you, then Hitchhiker is your song. Hitchhiker, to me, sounds like the perfect representation of this era in SHINee's discography - let's take what we already do well and marry it to a whole new palette of song styles/textures, and see what sticks.
And lemme tell you somethin' - Hitchhiker sticks like fucking glue. Remember what I said about SHINee loving the bells and whistles that comes with doing over the top songs?!?!?! That's in full effect here, sis. Hitchhiker is anthemic as all fuck, and these boys ride that beat like they were made for it. And to be completely, I have no doubt in my mind that they were.
Nothing to Lose (FIVE)
So who else was expecting to get something hella grungy like Natalia Kills' Break You Hard or Seventeen's Clap with how hard that guitar was filtered?!?!?! I can't be the only one here.
Nothing to Lose bait and switches us with that dark n grungy guitar riff, because the majority of the song is rather bright n poppy. But I really can't be mad, because I rather liked the way they transitioned the darker sections into the brighter ones. And Nothing to Lose is pure octane fun. It's kind of a hard song to hate, because it gives zero fucks about how cutesy and cheesy it is.
There's also a rather nice helping of Funk thrown into the mix, but I'm gonna pretend that that had nothing to do with much I like this song. Even though it's what makes me like it the most.
Punch Drunk Love (Misconceptions of You ~Dream Girl~)
Punch Drunk Love channels Love Like Oxygen like SHINee's producers were in the studio intentionally trying to produce a sequel to the song. And if you know anything about me, you know that Love Like Oxygen is literal auditory C R A C K for my black ass. Punch Drunk Love also sounds like SHINee's writers held a seance and channeled MJ's spirit when they were writing the song for the boys.
And y'all already K N O W I'm here for that shit.
Punch Drunk Love is the SHINee Five™ on autopilot, sis. SHINee will never not know how to come correct with a Funk song, and it warms my heart. The attitude, the harmonies (THE BUMBACLOT HARMONIES), the overall feel of the song; SHINee gets it right. If you ever needed a pickmeup, then put on SHINee's Punch Drunk Love, and thank me later. This is another song that is unabashedly cheesy, but gives absolutely zero fucks about it.
Isn't it beautiful!?!?!?
Evil (Misconceptions of Me ~Why So Serious~)
Evil can be summed by in two words - Drama and Killer Harmonies.
That's technically three, but you know what the fuck I meant.
Evil is SHINee at their most dramatic. I remember Shawols losing their collective minds at the fancams from the concert performances where they wore blindfolds.
Yes, you read that correctly. These dramatic ass motherfuckers were performing on stage with blindfolds on. They were, more than likely, see through blindfolds, but never doubt SHINee's collective love of the Drama™. They absolutely would dance completely blindfolded.
Evil starts out slow, but I very much doubt that many of us thought the song was gonna stay that way; SHINee were just building the atmosphere (read - creating the perfect environment to torch our weaves). Evil has an almost musical theater vibe to it, except not nearly as cheesy. Evil is honestly a one of a kind experience that we all need in our lives at some point.
Especially because SHINee were on their harmonic A game the day they recorded Evil. When the drums drop out and it's just the orchestral stabs with their voices?!?!? Fuckin' magic, ladies.
Like A Fire (Misconceptions of Me ~Why So Serious~)
We all Know™ Like A Fire, because of that one performance where Jonghyun, Kibum, and Jinki were having a contest to see whom tf could be the most extra (to be honest, I'd say Kibum won, based purely on the fact that I didn't even know he could wail like that). But Like A Fire stands firm on her own by being a wickedly good Funk song.
(Sidenote - I'm about 90% this list has more Funk tracks than my '90s 5HINee FSL, and I want you all know that that was not on purpose. I wont be changing it, but I swear it wasn't done purposefully!!)
Like A Fire, like Punch Drunk Love, is SHINee on autopilot. I don't know what else to say about this song. It's just so Classic SHINee™, sis!! The verses have a more somber, minor tone to them, but the choruses transition (maybe that's a modulation, I'm not Musically Advanced™ enough to make that call) into a killer major groove that is just so beautiful to listen to. I don't know anyone who doesn't like this song. Liking Like A Fire is a requirement for being a Shawol (especially a Shawol of color). If you don't like Like A Fire, you're invalid.
I need to say something about these harmonies and ad libs, tho. Did the producer of Like A Fire tell the SHINee Boys™ to go HAM the day they were laying down tracks for Like A Fire?!?!?! Did they mean for the harmonies and ad libs to get this over the top!?!?! I'm not complaining, I just wanna know. Because the harmonies and ad libs, especially, are so ridiculous!! I love every second of it, but sometimes it K I L L S how extra this song is!!
Diamond Sky (FIVE)
The first time I ever listened to this song, I cackled like a banshee at how extra that intro was, because it's so SHINee. It's so dramatic, and it suits SHINee to a T. I was expecting the verses to be some Final Dragon type shit, or somethin'!!!
Diamond Sky is pretty standard fare for a J-Pop song, imo. It doesn't stop me from loving SHINee's take on it (and it shouldn't stop you), but it's worth mentioning; SHINee + J-Pop = Love. Like I mentioned above, I'm glad that SHINee were able to continue releasing music in Japan, because this is a style of music that suits them well, but would not do well in Korea at all.
Diamond Sky feels like the theme song for a magical girl anime. The twinkly pianos, complemented by the strings and electric guitar give it an air of grandiosity that would have made it a perfect theme or insert song for Sailor Moon. If they had added a modulation at the end for Maximum Drama™, I'd have lost my shit.
Close the Door (Everybody)
Firstly, if you haven't watched the SHINee World IV performance where Jinki tap dances to Close the Door, I'm judging you. Our sweet dubu leader did not bless us with such beauty and grace for you to ignore it!!
Secondly, Close the Door is the cheesiest love song I've ever encountered in K-Pop. It's got the romantic sounding keys, the strings, it's in 6/8 time (perfect for a waltz, babies), the lyrics are so sugary sweet, and the chord progressions utilize mostly major chords. And you know what, I absolutely fucking love it. I'm a cheesy Romantic Gay™, and I fucking love this cheesy ass love song. It's just so aurally pleasing, especially since these SHINee boys all have voices that blend together amazingly when they harmonize. Sue me.
Sleepless Night (Misconceptions of Me ~Why So Serious~)
SHINee ballads are a wonderful, amazing thing, you know?!?!? Especially when they don't give us the typical classical ballad, but go a little left field into something jazzy or RnB. Which is what they do with Sleepless Night.
This week's playlist features a lot of songs that are extremely over the top, sis. And I mean, we've discussed this; these SHINee boys love the drama of it all. But they also love lowkey songs like Sleepless Night. You'd be able to tell if they didn't with a song this stripped back and bare. Sleepless Night is literally the SHINee boys (and their amazing harmonies), a piano, and some strings. And it's fucking amazing. There are quite a few songs from SHINee that I want to experience live, but I think Sleepless Night tops the list. Well, that and Wish Upon A Star, but I'm sure I'd cry my fucking eyes out listening to that. I mean, I might cry my eyes out to Sleepless Night, but there's less of a chance there.
I've accepted that I'm a boring bitch who lives for a good ballad (the amount of ballads I've had to listen to for my RRUs has definitely proven this), but there's nothing quite like a good SHINee ballad, sis. There ain't never been a SHINee ballad that I didn't like.
And that's all for this week's list, loves!! Please tune in next week for the next era in my SHINee Spotlight series, Contemporary SHINee ver.2!! And don't forget to tune in Wednesday for my next Review Roundup, featuring songs released this week!!
Love you, guys!!

2. SHINee
I 👏🏽 love 👏🏽 SHINee 👏🏽 . They are the reason I took the chance to explore K-Pop. They are legends when it comes to K-Pop and they have been slaying for years ever since they’ve debuted. A group that has managed to have songs that display various different styles of music while still retaining a distinct and unique sound that always screams SHINee. They’ve done rock, EDM, funk, R&B, retro, new age, and much more. Their dancing is iconic and they continuously provide engaging and iconic performances. Their style has been all over the place but equally visually satisfying in many regards. Their vocal quality is top tier. They are a full package and truly are a model group when it comes to K-Pop. SHINee is a talented group and they deserve every ounce of success they’ve worked hard for. SHINee is my second favorite K-Pop group.
Bias: Minho
Tumblr media
I 👏🏽 love 👏🏽 Minho 👏🏽 . Minho is visual perfection to me. It’s almost hard to describe how freaking attractive he is (at least to me). This boy is so handsome, beautiful, sexy, stunning, ugh the adjectives could go on forever… This guy has had the best and most consistent hair since Lucifer, he’s looked flawless with bleached grey-blonde hair (bless him for doing that for the 1 of 1 comeback it was a dream come true), and he’s drop-dead gorgeous with contacts in View. Do I have a crush on him? Unashamedly, yes. Every SHINee video I’m drawn to him and I get excited to see him whenever he gets a solo moment or screen time. I was fanboying so hard when they made a comeback and I was sitting there excited like a fool to see Minho in the spotlight again.
It all began with Lucifer. I was watching a React video while being bored on YouTube. It so happened to be YouTubers reacting to K-Pop. Of the three videos, the one that was most appealing to me was SHINee’s Lucifer. Why? One, it was actually what I expected to sound like and it was a sick song with a beat that just stuck in my head (funny because the other two are more catchy: I Got A Boy and Fantastic Baby). Of the five members in SHINee, the only one that caught my eye and interest was Minho–mainly because he was the only one with a decent haircut and a reasonable outfit 😂 .  It was a while until I came back to SHINee actually. But what truly sold me was Everybody. I had skimmed over Sherlock, Replay, Juliette, Ring Ding Dong, Love Like Oxygen, Dreamgirl, View, but it was Everybody that kept bringing me back in. I’ll talk more about that later.
The moment when it was set in stone was SHINee’s performance of Dynamite for their SHINee World IV concert. If you’ve never seen that performance, you’re in for a treat. SHINee isn’t a stranger to sexy and Minho puts on a scorchingly hot performance 🔥 . Call me a sucker 😏 , but from then on I was madly obsessed. SHINee was all about Minho for me. Whether it was a variety show or a music video, my eyes would intently watch and fanboy over Minho. I could only dream about getting a boyfriend or be as handsome, amazing, and cool as Minho. A total dreamboat, my bias, that’s Minho 😍 .
Tumblr media
Bias Wrecker: None
Lol. This might be a bummer, but there is just no one else in SHINee that competes with Minho for me. Maybe I’m a loyalist. I’d say it’s just Minho just screams perfection to me. Don’t get me wrong, each member has their own charms and I can totally understand the fanbases each of the members have–it’s definitely deserved. Onew is SHINee’s fearless and adorable leader with a voice that can make your heart melt. Jonghyun is immensely talented vocally and one of the best vocalists in K-Pop that I’ve heard ever since he debuted and has only gotten better; he’s got a body to compete with Minho and a strong masculine aura about him. Key has a distinct voice that can rap and sing; he’s got a sassy personality and an entertaining fashion sense to boot too. Taemin literally does everything: visual, sing, dance, etc. Taemin is a star and truly deserves every ounce of success he works for as an artist and entertainer. Almost painfully so, to the point it feels like he’s “over-milked” per se when it comes to comebacks and videos.
Each member of SHINee is pivotal to the group. My heart would break if SHINee lost one of its members. While Minho might not have the vocal range as the rest of the group, he makes up for it with where his vocal range actually is; and his voice is just perfect, smooth, and a joy to hear. I may not have a bias wrecker in SHINee, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love and appreciate each of the members for their amazing talent, skills, and performances.
TOP 5 Songs:
1. Everybody
Tumblr media
This is K-Pop. Solid concept. Mind-blowing choreography. Stellar vocals. Breathtaking visuals and style. Poppy music video. Amazing funk-pop dub-step sound. If there were songs/music videos that defined what K-Pop is, Everybody is one of them.
I am not a particular fan of dub-step, but this is some good stuff right here. Everybody really woke me as to how much fun it was to explore K-Pop and find music that really just spoke to me. Minho doesn’t rap, but rather sings which is refreshing to hear. And even though he doesn’t belt out notes like the other members (and all of them belt a note), I can help it when his part comes. Seeing him in the video and hearing him sing just makes my heart melt 💖 . Everybody additionally has a lot of gems in it like Onew’s windmill arms and of course Taemin’s abs.
I’d say that the peak of SHINee’s sound is Everybody. I’m not saying SHINee’s sound got worse or any future release never got better. No, Everybody was an epic presentation of SHINee’s ability to take music and mold it into SHINee’s unique sound. By this point, SHINee could conquer anything and slay the house down. Everybody is the culmination of everything SHINee could do up to that point and turned into overdrive at over 9000%.
Everybody is an amazing show-stopping song. The dance moves are iconic. The lyrics never fail to pump you up. It’s an adrenaline rush all the way to the end. Everybody is, without contest, my number 1 SHINee song.
2. Replay
Tumblr media
I said that Superhero was one of my favorite debut songs. Well, Replay is the other. Imagine, that a song SHINee released in 2008 is able to compete in quality to the amazing songs they’re releasing today! The 90s R&B vibe is so smooth and extremely accessible. I fall in love with SHINee all over again every time I hear it. From the very beginning, SHINee was giving solid choreography, beautiful vocals, adorable visuals and more. While the line distribution is pretty trash when it comes to Minho in particular, the sound as a whole is perfection.
Replay’s sound is extremely nostalgic and is such a feel good sound. But it doesn’t stop there. SHINee’s performance of Replay at their 4th World concert is just so heartfelt and beautiful. The remix beat is gives it a special new breath to it that just let’s you fall deeper in love with Replay. But when the audience sings along and Jonghyun emotionally singing is one of the most touching and beautiful things to watch and listen too.
But wait…there’s more! Love Sick is Replay part two – released with View on “Odd Eye”. This beautiful funky R&B song is just the cherry on top. While it shares an abysmal line distribution for Minho 😂 , Love Sick sharing Replay’s choreography and vibe just makes it an important mention as to why Replay is so special and is my second favorite SHINee song.
3. Kimi No Sei De (Because of You)
Tumblr media
SHINee has a plethora of gems when it comes to their Japanese releases. This is by far my favorite. With a strong funky beat during their verses and then a smooth and intense bridge melody it builds up to a mournfully beautiful intense chorus. It features various different sounds into one whole song effortlessly while also highlighting each of the member’s vocal strengths. Can I get an amen to giving Minho more singing lines? My heart melts when he sings. The dancing is intensely captivating and entrancing. The emotion in the song is so intense and gripping. It’s truly a shame I can’t buy this song off of iTunes because this is a masterpiece.
4. DxDxD
Tumblr media
What can I say? I just love me some Minho appreciation. A more spread out line distribution is always better in my eyes. Whether or not the end result is fair, it feels great to hear each member multiple times throughout a song. If there’s one thing that the Japanese releases have over the Korean release is that there is more Minho 😂 . I love a good dance/club song–it’s my favorite song for my K-Pop groups. The video is full of poppy visuals, handsome styles, and lots of gratuitous Minho. To top it all off, it’s the closest Minho gets to being shirtless in a music video. My bias may be showing, but this song is almost as epic as Everybody. Another prayer for this to be on US iTunes one day 🙏🏽 .
5. Lucifer
Tumblr media
This is the song that got me into K-Pop, began my interest in SHINee, and started my love for Minho. This everything I expected K-Pop to be, but it was better than I imagined and even more my style. Sharp synchronized dancing. Silly fashion #choices. Questionable hairstyles (Minho being the only one I really liked 😂  which is also why this is favored over Ring Ding Dong the other SHINee hit-maker classic). Epic vocals. A very distinct asian style of pop that would sound weird to American audiences. Minho sings and raps in one song! What more could I ask for? Well…actually…I won’t go there 😂 . This song is truly special to me and it holds a special place as my fifth favorite song for SHINee. Now excuse me while I sing butchered Korean and dance like an idiot to this song 🕺🏽 .
Honorable Mentions:
Downtown Baby
Tumblr media
Did I mention that I love SHINee’s J-Pop releases? Well Downtown Baby has just recently become an intense favorite of mine but unfortunately had no room to make it into the top 5. To be fair, SHINee has a plethora of songs competing against each other for a spot. A video with overwhelmingly bright colors, cute style for the boys, and some sleeveless Minho. These boys are beautiful in the video and I get a little breathless whenever Minho stares into the camera. The upbeat and happy sound is infectious to listen to and is sure to put a smile on my face.
Sherlock
Tumblr media
Ah, the beginning of “SHINee’s back”. As corny as it is, Minho manages to make it sexy 😆 . The intense pop-funk song is what begins the reimagining of SHINee’s sound into what it is today. The eclectic fashion, the strong concept, the artistic synchronized choreography, and hypnotizing choreography. Also: bless whoever does Minho’s hair, bless whoever makes Minho’s pants, bless whoever made Minho’s plunging neckline shirt, and bless Minho 🙏🏽 . Who doesn’t love “soy un Dorito” 😂 …I mean Sherlock? This was a flawless comeback. Talk about the beginning, or rather the continuation, of SHINee’s slayage.
Dreamgirl
Tumblr media
From the beginning, Minho hypnotizes me and makes my fanboy senses go wild. I love me some good mic-ography and SHINee just takes to a whole other level. The boy-band colorful print blazers are adorable and refreshing to see. The music is funky pop that’s makes you want to get up and sing along. If you need proof that SHINee slays, you can watch their live comeback performance. Now tell me…did you notice that they went from 5 microphone stands to 4? Utterly professional talent boys. From Dreamgirl onwards, I tell myself that I won’t fanboy while I watch…but then Minho looks at me through that screen and I’ve lost. Dreamgirl is another stepping stone I need to mention that leads to Everybody. SHINee is truly a dream come true.

dkb and shinee!
DKB
do i already stan them? yes | only for the music | attempting to | no
my bias + bias wrecker: Based purely on our shared birthday, Yuku, the sweetest sunshine boy, is my bias~~~~~ And they're all wreckers, every single one of them, they're A LOT
first time i heard of them: I heard of them just after they debuted! I'm pretty sure it was through tumblr too, I got a suggested post from a blog that announces kpop debuts and I was like "oh they look cool I'll check them out" and I was just hooked from 'Sorry Mama'.
when i became a fan: Debut era~ When they debuted I was just a little in awe of them, honestly, not because they were necessarily better than other groups debuting at the time but for me 'Sorry Mama' didn't really sound like anything else that had been released. I thought it was really cool and interesting for them to use female vocals in their debut song at the end, it's usually a lot later that kpop groups have other artists involved like that (if ever, really) but that made the song really stand out and then I started watching some of their Dakcumentaries and just really liked them~
favorite (and least favorite) title track: My favourite title track is 'Still'! It was such a change up from 'Sorry Mama' but they did it so well, for me their debut really let the rap line shine but 'Still' was all about the vocalists and they did it so well!!! My least favourite title track is probably 'Sorry Mama'... ejrgberhge which ok yes I do love it but it's just my least favourite of the title tracks, I think they've grown a lot since their debut and while I do love the song it also has some of the worst line distribution so...
favorite (and least favorite) b-side: For me DKB have such a solid discography so early on, honestly, they went for very distinct concepts for all their albums and those concepts are carried through into every b-side so everything flows so well~ But my faves are: Fondue (like seriously guys... seriously... idk what it is... is it e-chan with his soft vocals or Junseo being given the credit he deserves??? idk but yes to all of it), Flower Less (again like!!!!!! yes!!!!!), Go Up (so cute, so wholesome), Rose (she classy, she a little bit sexy, she a subtle bop, we love her). I don't really have a least favourite b-side but I'll just say Youth because it's technically just like the album opener and it's too short at 1:43. OK and if I had to pick probably 'Samsung', because it's just idk it's funny??? I don't dislike it but it's pretty much just a promo for Samsung and as a Samsung user I relate to thinking the phones are pretty good but ejhrgbejre the song is just funny, if there was any song of theirs I'd occasional skip it would be that one.
favorite (and least favorite) mv: Favourite MV is 'Work Hard'! It's just colourful and cute, I love like the three different distinct groups the members are divided up into with completely different aesthetics and just the overall styling of the MV is so good, Lune with that golden-blonde hair??? YES. My least favourite MV is probably 'Sorry Mama' just 'cause it's not my favourite aesthetically, it's quite flashy from what I can remember and you canny see Junseo's face literally the entire time, like what was with the bucket hat????
favorite (and least favorite) album: 'LOVE'! It's my favourite of the debut mini series, all the songs are so good and so on concept, it's such a change up from their debut and such a good first comeback album, it's just flawless~~ My least favourite is probably 'The Dice is Cast' and it's literally only because it's their first full album but it's actually just a repackage of all their minis... and yet they didn't include every song??? Like song-wise it's brilliant 'cause I just think most of their songs are great but idk it just defeats the point of repackaging if you don't include all the songs?? I would've just liked a huge mega-repackage where they included all 18 songs on it but there's only 10...
a concept i wished they’d try: I'm not entirely sure, I think obviously a suit concept... 'cause I like suits and that's just the whole truth, if ever idol group wore suits every era I wouldn't be mad about it. I think I'd love to see them go really summery too though???? I think there are some members in particular who'd suit the concept really well (sunshine concept for my sunshine boy pls) and idk a song along the lines of like Astro's 'Baby' or Seventeen's 'Pretty U' or Golden Child's 'Pump It Up' or The Boyz 'Bloom Bloom' like something just fun and summery??? It's not something they've really done 'cause they've gone with different sounds but I think they've got the talent to pull it off and might be a good challenge for them.
what i like most about them: I think they just give off a lot of positive energy? I know we don't know anything really about these idols and honestly that's kinda how it should be, those boundaries are important, but together they seem to have a really good energy. They really hype each other up, they seem really hard working and ambitious, all of them are really willing to put in the work to get better at what they do and I think in an industry like theirs it's important to be motivated but also have people around you to build you up and encourage you, which is what they seem to do for each other.
SHINee
do i already stan them? YES | only for the music | attempting to | no
my bias + bias wrecker: I love all of them equally but Taemin was my first bias!
first time i heard of them: I heard SHINee for the first time in about 2012, at the time I was watching a lot of anime (anime mvs on youtube too haha good times) and listening to a lot of the osts on youtube, then one day Sherlock was recommended to me, I clicked on it and I have been a sucker for them ever since.
when i became a fan: I pretty much became a fan immediately, they drew me in so quickly and once I'd heard Sherlock I was watching all their previous stuff, listening to their b-sides and finding out a lot more about them! They're pretty much the only kpop group I've listened to consistently since 2012, it took me a good while to get into a lot of other groups beyond casual listening but I heard those 5 shining boys and I was gone~
favorite (and least favorite) title track: My absolute favourites are: Replay, Love Like Oxygen, Juliette, Ring Ding Dong, Lucifer, Hello, Sherlock, Dream Girl, Why So Serious?, Everybody, View, Married to the Music, 1 of 1, Tell Me What To Do, Good Evening, I Want You, Our Page, Countless, Don't Call Me and Atlantis! And I don't believe there is any to dislike~ Also a shout out to their Japanese discography 'cause I only mentioned their Korean ones but tracks like DxDxD and Get the Treasure and Sing Your Song are also everything~~
favorite (and least favorite) b-side: I can't manage what I did above where I list every single b-side and to be fair they're probably not all my favourite, even though I love them all, so off the top of my head (and I literally mean just what I can remember this second) my faves are: Area, Body Rythm, Hitchhiking, Aside, Electric, Chemistry, Undercover, Colorful, Runaway, Excuse Me Miss, Love Sick, I Really Want You, Marry You, Heart Attack, Don't Stop, Feel Good, Forever or Never and Savior~ and unsurprisingly there aren't really any b-sides I don't like, depending on my mood there's always something SHINee's done that will work~ Again I mainly did their Korean discography here too but their Japanese music is incredible songs like ABOAB, LUCKY STAR, Tell Me Your Name, Diamond Sky, Downtown Baby, Colours of the Season and 君のせいで, to name just a few, are amazing!
favorite (and least favorite) mv: I love most of their MVs but of course Replay, View, Atlantis and Married to the Music come to mind~ Also Your Number isn't technically an MV but it's literally one of my favourite videos of all time, I could (and perhaps have) watch it a billion times! There's not really MVs I can think of that I don't like, even the ones that are a bit dated now are so iconic that they hold a special place in my heart~
favorite (and least favorite) album: At the moment I won't deny the Atlantis repackage is probably one of my favourites, simply because it's still so fresh and I have listened to the others a billion times. I do really love 1of1 too! I don't really have a least favourite album, my absolute favourite songs tend to be scattered on all different ones so... canny pick one~
a concept i wished they’d try: Gosh, what haven't they already done? I guess it'd be interesting to see them do a darker concept because they've not done a lot of that, something quite intense with I guess Tell Me What to Do vibes but a bit more... I don't wanna say horror based but I don't know how else to describe it????
what i like most about them: Without going off on an emotional tangent, what I love most about SHINee is that their music cheered me up during some really tough times in my life. I really think music can be a very powerful thing and all different people have different relationships with music, for me SHINee was just one of those influences that always made me feel better. They were a great source of motivation, as individuals they've all overcome a lot and the fact that we had people like Jonghyun who talked about his struggles and offered support to his listeners, really making music for not only himself for them too, it meant a lot. I also just love that at this point they're so comfortable and confident in who they are, they're no longer making music for wins and to stay on top of other groups, they've worked hard and accomplished so much, they have a supportive and consistent fanbase and I think they can really just enjoy the whole thing a lot more? The music they make is fun and powerful and interesting, they push boundaries as individuals and a group, and they just get better and better~ They set the standard, honestly~

ASTRO August Challenge Day 9:
Day 9:  You get to pick ASTRO’s next concept.  What is it?  Will you change their concept?  What are their outfits going to be like?  Do they all dye their hair neon green?  Be detailed!
Ok so I’ll be doing this as if I get to pick what they do for Dream Part 2. Even though I know they want to try different concepts and they’ve said that they are going to be stepping further away from their bright concept with this comeback, my poor little heart couldn’t bear to see them lose it completely so we’re keeping their bright sound still, but with a twist~
The concept will be similar to Dreamcatcher’s Fly High, where it shows a different part of the overall story, having a lighter sound while with some dark elements slipped in to show everything isn’t exactly hunky dory. Since the overall concept of the series is Dreams, Part 2 will take place inside of a dream. And at first everything seems great and nice (think like cute picnic scenes and whatnot), but then they start to notice things that shouldn’t be, and realize they’re inside a dream and have to escape! (because Astro’s never been stuck in an alternate reality before, nope, totally never happened in any of their videos) ((maybe they have to face alternate versions of themselves in a Persona/DxDxD kind of way??))
(((I’m sorry my inner St☆rlight is coming out I just love spooky concepts 😭)))
For the style, I’d say darker hair for everyone (or as dark as they will go after what they’ve done to Sanha’s poor hair....).
Specifically super dark blue for Eunwoo (please I beg you!!) and a really smoky, cool gray for Jinjin (a sort of followup to his Breathless hair). Also maybe a really lovely chocolate brown for MJ. As for the clothes, probably casual clothes since it’s supposed to feel like a nice, bright dream until things start going Spooky™
Bonus if Fanta doesn’t spoil anything about the spooky bits, so when the MV comes out we’re all shook as HECK
Extra Bonus of there’s a Part 3 and it takes place completely in a nightmare (or even them being outside looking into one??? how would that even work idk but i’d be really cool & creative)
