The Club

Sero slid on a pair of black boots and tossed his leather jacket over his shoulder on his way out. Kirishima and Todoroki were picking him up for their night out. Todoroki sat in the passenger seat while Kirishima drove the red truck.

    "I'm excited to see Nishiharu," Todoroki quietly said. "I haven't seen her in a while."

    "Yeah," Sero mindlessly drummed on his thigh.

    They pulled into the club just as Kaminari's yellow Nissan parked. The idiot hopped out of the car in a burnt orange button down and skinny jeans. He tossed his keys at the valet before jogging around to open the door.

    Out walked Nishiharu and Sero gulped. Her tiny waist was scrunched by a black belt and a maroon dress with large bishop sleeves draped over her shoulders. The dress was floor-length and her gloved hands gladly grabbed Kaminari's. Photographer's snapped shots of her and Kaminari when Nishiharu whispered in his ear.

    He laughed.

    "You good, man?" Kirishima asked.

    Sero nodded and hopped out of the car. He followed Todoroki into the club while Kirishima hung back to wait for a valet. They immediately saw their group forming: Yuki perched on Bakugo's knee, Mina waved ferociously at Sero, and Kaminari with a hand on Nishiharu's waist.

    Sero gulped.

    "Whoa, Fried Ice!" Nishiharu gasped when her eyes landed on Todoroki. "When'd you get that tall?"

    Todoroki smiled politely. "I don't know, Nishiharu. How long are you in Japan?"

    Sero watched the two interact with a scrunched up nose. He didn't realize they were that well acquainted with each other. Behind them, Yuki whispered to Bakugo.

    "Oh yeah, Copy and Paste," Bakugo interrupted. "There's a spot open at Dynamighty."

    What? Sero wondered. Yuki caught his eye and she gave a slight nod. Sero's shoulders drooped when he realized Yuki had read his emotions.

    "I already turned it down four times, Bomber."

    "And I'll ask another four," Bakugo snickered and wrapped his arms tightly around Yuki. "Some people around here miss you."

    "Oh my gosh!" Mina squealed. "If you worked in Japan, then we could totally hit up all the bars in Tokyo, Rin!"

    Nishiharu laughed. "I'm not Hanta. That doesn't sound fun at all."

    "Oh come on!" Mina whined. "Sero can tag along! I'm sure you'd love that!"

    Sero must've imagined it. The way Nishiharu stood up a little bit straighter and hid behind her hand. "I work in Gotham, okay?"

    "Speaking of Gotham," Todoroki interrogated, "are you okay?"

    "Why wouldn't I be?"

    "Eight months ago?"

    Yuki grabbed Bakugo's arm tightly and a hiss poured out of her lips. Sero glanced between Nishiharu and Yuki and couldn't deny the flaming eyes that bore into Todoroki.

    "Not much." Sero had to strain to hear her over the heavy music. "I got hurt, was in the hospital, healed up, now I'm here to celebrate Bakugo and Tanaka! Not a big deal. How's that going, guys?"

    Bakugo helped Yuki stand. She beamed prouder than any smile when she said, "great! Are you guys ready for a week of absolute relaxation and..." the smile wilted when Kirishima approached the group. Kirishima stared at Yuki like she was an off-limits dessert.

    "I'm so ready!" Nishiharu cheered. "Let me tell ya, when I found out you guys were married I was so sad I missed it and then just to find out literally everyone missed it? Ha! You guys are goals."

    Kirishima nodded along with a smile plastered across his lips. Nishiharu grabbed Todoroki and pulled him to the dance floor and Bakugo couldn't help but mock the icy-hot hero when Todoroki bobbed awkwardly.

    But Nishiharu? She was as elegant as a cherry blossom on a tree and as majestic as a phoenix when she danced. Perfectly. She danced absolutely perfectly and laughed with that heart-shaped mouth of hers.

    And it killed Sero that she hadn't acknowledged him other than to talk about his clubbing habits.

Katsukis hero name is actually pretty interesting.

So, I noticed something a few days ago when reading a panel on the mha manga, specifically chapter 347 where Mirko come in the picture. Of course, she messes up the name, calling him ‘Dynamighty’ (which is actually kinda cute not gonna lie) and Katsuki goes to correct her.

Great Explosion murder God: Dynamight.

A little difference, but it kinda changes how you read it and how you interpret the name.

Yes, he’s basically jumbling names that his ego feeds him into his hero name, while also spelling dynamite differently for his not-so-subtle admiration for All Might.

BUT! It’s not just a bunch of words, it’s a description (of how big his ego is really). And all because of those little dots —> :

Allow me to explain.

Let’s look at some mythology, from any culture, but let’s look at the gods. We can use a Japanese god.

Japanese god of war and fortune: Bishamonten

Japanese got of luck and longevity: Fukurokuju

Etc…

First come the description of the god and then the gods name. You don’t just read it as one continuous thing. And that’s exacly what Katsuki did.

“Great Explosion Murder God: Dynamight” or in other words: “Japanese God of Explosion and Murder: Dynamight.”

Egotistic, but actually quite creative! To think Izuku was the one that wanted to have all Mights name in his hero name only to have Katsuki do it himself just gives light how much the dude loves the number one hero.

The notifications woke Sero. He sifted through them until his heart skipped a beat. He never had the will to turn her notifications off. She only posted once or twice a year, so it wasn't bothersome. He sat up and rubbed his sleepy eyes before unlocking his phone.

Sero stared at her photo. She wore a pair of sunglasses and her bright hair was tied back in her classic messy braid. The corners of her heart lips tugged at a playful smile and she wore a wrinkled blue flannel with a pair of light gloves. Her giant suitcases stood behind her under a massive chandelier.

    Sero leaped out of bed. He glanced at the clock. 6:50 a.m. If the flight left after her last comment and she was coming to Japan, she'd be here by noon. He quickly got ready for the day and headed toward Dynamighty.

    "You're in early," Kirishima said when he walked in.

    That was an understatement—Sero arrived twenty minutes before his shift. Usually, he strolled in twenty minutes late. Snooze killed him normally. At least he wasn't as bad as Kaminari who showed up an hour late.

    "Just had a ton of energy."

    Kirishima grinned. "Is it because Nishiharu's coming back?"

    "No," Sero said quickly. A little too quickly. "How'd you know she's coming back?"

    "Denki stayed up half the night dming her. He woke me up a few times."

    Sero turned toward his costume case before his eyebrow could twitch. He took a deep breath and tore off his t-shirt. "Cool. I take it he's still sleeping?"

    Kirishima laughed and stripped himself of his shirt. "For sure."

    Sero strapped his shoulder protectors on. He grabbed his helmet and begrudgingly waited for Kirishima to finish getting ready. Honestly, Sero had to put on tights while Kirishima just had to tug on a pair of cargo pants. Why did it take Kirishima so long to get ready?

    They strolled out onto the block and a few high school girls ran up to them. Sero lifted the plastic pane on his helmet when they asked for a photo. Kirishima had the perfect customer-satisfaction smile plastered on his face, but Sero couldn't bring himself to smile as kindly as usual.

    "Thank you Red Riot and Cellophane!"

    "Get to school safe, okay?" Kirishima waved at them. He turned to Sero, "you good, man?"

    "Never better."

    That's how most of their patrol went. When they returned to the building for lunch, Sero grumbled when he saw Kaminari's obnoxious yellow car parked out front. "How many times do we have to tell him to park in the garage?"

    "Eh, let Bakugo handle telling him," Kirishima said.

    They walked through the front door and Sero stopped. The laugh was the same. The same chime of voice and pattern of speaking—with a slight accent. She exchanged pleasantries with the company's front desk assistant.

    "It was great meeting you, Aiko!" she said. "It's a shame I missed everyone, but I really need to head to my brother's, Denki."

    "Yeah, right. Of course," Kaminari said.

    She said farewell to Aiko and turned. She turned, and turned, and it felt like she turned for an eternity. Sero's helmeted gaze didn't leave her for one moment. And then she looked at them.

    Kirishima was already halfway across the lobby. He held his arms out wide and she ran right into them and giggled. Kirishima picked her up and spun her around. "I missed you so much!"

    "I missed you too!" Nishiharu's giggle was a melody Sero missed. He didn't realize how much he missed it, but he did.

    Sero removed his helmet and awkwardly walked over while patting his sweaty hair. She side-eyed him but her attention remained on Kirishima, who was already making plans to get everyone together outside of work. She nodded and extended her arm out to Sero. They had a more-than-awkward side hug while she talked with Kirishima.

    When she finally turned to Sero, her deep eyes glistened. "Hey, Tape Dispenser."

    A giant smile found its way on his face when he rolled his eyes. "Hey there, Goddess."

Over 1,000,000 served!!

Hey everybody,

We wanted to share some cool news. Thanks to the influx of new players from the PS+ program, we just passed a major milestone for CounterSpy.  Over 1 million players!

We have been so blown away and happy to see all the new people discovering and enjoying CounterSpy. One of the very cool things about making games in the 21st century, is the direct access you have to the people playing your game, via social sites such as Facebook or Twitter. 

We are a small team so it's not always easy to respond to everyone, but we love being able to engage with people, reply to questions, share people's 'lets play' videos and generally keep tabs on what people have to say! :)

The journey of a game can truly be a tough one, sustained by a combination of dreams, passion, experience, optimism and determination.

At the end of it, you have a game! And releasing that game out to the world, then becomes a scary final step.

After all those late nights, all any creative person wants to do, is to create something of value, with passion, and to share it out with the world.

Being able to fulfill this with CounterSpy was a true blessing for us at Dynamighty, and to think that over 1 million people are playing our game, and to see it bringing joy to people's lives, truly does make every long day & hard night worthwhile.
