Yet another reason as to why the fandom wiki is awful

If you've been in this hellsite, you've probably have seen some posts circling around about the fandom wiki making stuff up and not crediting their sources, well, here's another thing we can add to that list: they steal artwork.

If you go to the Ever After High Fandom Wiki right now, you will find that the profiles of Ramona, Sparrow, Humphrey, Hopper, Helga, Gus, Lilly Bo-Peep and "Maisie Muffet" have some pretty official looking artworks as their main pictures. In reality, none of this characters got a proper artwork, and the ones up in the wiki are FANART. All these pictures belong to @boots.catlin (also known as @egito.junior) on Instagram; and what's worse, there are no credits to the artist.

(I will add the rest of the artworks in a reblog since I ran out of pictures.)

This needs to be stopped. As you can see in these pictures, there are barely any sources listed, not to mention blatant fake information, and they're stealing art.

Fandom wiki: do better.

hi, hello, calling all ever after high fans! fun fact!

the Fandom wiki SUCKS.

I've known this for a while, and talking to people in the discord makes it more obvious. the Fandom wiki is unmoderated, unprofessionally written, chronically undercited, and often contains just completely incorrect information. if you want examples, I will be including SEVERAL under the cut!

essentially, I have been building my own wiki with several people from the server, but it is taking a LONG time to get up and running. is this something that you guys would be interested in helping me with?? most of the character links and pages are currently defunct, but I'm working on uploading and transcribing all of the diaries at the moment (because I really really don't want to steal anything from the Fandom wiki. this is our own project, so we have to find our own sources, links, and information.)

just looking for feedback !!! please reblog with tags or comments if you would like to work on this project. keep in mind it will HAVE to be source-based, so it's going to be a lot of reading and searching for information from various sources, not just the show.

Hunter Huntsman's diary

this is MADE UP. the last line of this DOESN'T EXIST. it ends at "My life... a fairytale come true." the rest of this is someone writing fanfiction and putting it in the official wiki.

Braeburn

there's so many problems here I don't even know where to start. actually I do.

ONE: her name is Braebyrn. not Braeburn. this wiki doesn't mention it, but her name is NEVER MENTIONED in the show or in the junior novelization; it's on the official ever after high instagram, it's on the apple white dragon games doll box, and it's in the mobile app game that was released in accompaniment with the show. that's important information that the wiki didn't think mattered, and they misspelled her name!!!!

TWO: "braeburn appears to be able to control lightning" if anyone did ANY RESEARCH they would know that's not "appears to be," that IS her power. on the box that braebyrn the doll model comes in, it explicitly mentions that her dragon magic is "lightning bolt," so that's not an assumption. however, this fact is never mentioned on the page! because the wiki is non-comprehensive despite pretending that it is.

THREE: "Brushfire's sister" she's. she's all of the baby dragon's sisters. why is this one specifically mentioned. that's just a weird choice. plus it's written as "Brushfires" which is a typo that has not been corrected.

FOUR: "Her name is a nod to Braeburn apples." you have to say "seems to be." unlike the lightning, this one is an ASSUMPTION. if it isn't an assumption, if there was an interview where someone from mattel was talking about it, you have to link it!! it doesn't matter that it's a very obvious pun, wikis are built on FACT. UGH.

I have searched far and wide, and as far as I can tell, these are straight up made up. I can't find any sources, and if I look up something like "felecity ever after high" the ONLY links that show up related to the dragons are for the Fandom wiki. there are no sources, no citations. I personally am inclined to believe these are made up names that are stated as fact.

ONE: NOT her pet pig. it's a pig that she brought to a party because they asked her to bring ham or something to the party and she didn't understand they wanted the pig not alive. I'm pretty sure it hopped out of her hat. it's never mentioned again.

TWO: the storyboard of legends. I. I don't even have anything to say.

Blondie Lockes Headcanons

Her full name is Blondie Bobbie Lockes.

She has OCD. That’s pretty much common knowledge. She also has ADHD and autism.

She’s a notoriously picky eater. She only has about ten foods she actually likes and sticks with those. Her favorite food is oatmeal with honey.

She has a younger sister named Porridge. (This is on the wiki, but I don’t know if it’s really canon.)

She’s pretty good at keeping secrets. Despite being the school gossip, she doesn’t want to hurt her friends and refuses to broadcast anything she deems too embarrassing. That bar is pretty low, though.

Unlike her mom, she absolutely loves bears. She has a collection of teddy bears in her room and has a whole array of bear paraphernalia. She tried to play with the bear cubs when she was little and never got the hint when their mothers told her to stay away.

She and Porridge used to be close, but Porridge got jealous of Blondie always getting more attention from their mother. Blondie was never aware of this and wonders what happened between them.

She and her sister have two different dads.

Blondie and Lilly-Bo Peep’s families live in the same neighborhood/kingdom.

Three is her lucky number. She claims it is the most important number and does everything in threes.

She was on the Track and Shield team in her first year. She left to pursue broadcasting, but she still loves running.

Blondie ran away from home frequently as a child. Not because she hated being at home; she was just bored. When Porridge started speaking, Goldilocks had her bouncer positioned by the door to act as an alarm.

She’s allergic to bee stings.

She loves listening to audiobooks and podcasts instead of music. Her favorite podcasts are Welcome to Knight’s Tale and The Goldilocks Zone.

She ships her friends and comes up with couples names for them.

Neither Blondie nor Porridge know who their fathers are. Porridge doesn’t care as much, but Blondie blames herself for her dad walking out on her mother. She felt she wasn’t good enough, which fueled her compulsive need for things to be “just right” around her.

There is a rumor that she is King Charming’s illegitimate daughter, and thus Daring, Dexter, and Darling’s half-sister. As much as she would love to prove herself as a princess, she knows this is false and shoots these rumors down.

She’s very interested in astrology, something she and Cupid have in common. It helps her in decision-making and relieves her anxiety.

She likes horror movies, even though she’s always super critical of the filmmaking.

Like Daring, she is super protective of her hair. But it’s less of a vanity thing and more of a sensory issue.

Usually the errors I catch are misreferenced/not given a source (but I know are canon) or the wrong birthday but this feels big enough.
