Unlikely Tech Problems

I reported to the cargo bay for our next delivery, and found concerned faces. Captain Sunlight waited by the door, scaly browridges angled into a dignified frown, while Mimi gestured wildly with his tentacles. I’d expected Mur to come with us instead. Something was up.

Before I could ask, the captain waved me over. “The other ship’s communications appear to be down,” she said. “Additional problems are possible as well. Keep your nostrils open for trouble.”

“Right,” I said, choosing not to comment on the Heatseeker phrasing. “Do we know if they’re okay?”

“They should be,” she replied with one clawed finger pointed at the closed bay door, which blocked the view of a busy spaceport. “The crew member who exited their ship to wave us over didn’t look distressed. And Wio isn’t picking up any alert signals or other causes for alarm.”

Mimi rumbled, “But we’re cautiously alarmed anyway.” He made quite a contrast to the captain, with his voice so much rougher and his attitude grumpier than usual today. Plus all the tentacles. I wondered what he expected the problem to be. Or maybe he just wasn’t looking forward to being mechanic-for-hire as a favor for regular clients. Though I’m sure the captain would have given him a bonus for that.

“We are simply cautious,” said Captain Sunlight. “We’ll head out as soon as—”

Something hissed behind me.

“I hearrrr of thrrrreatening circumsssstanssses?” asked Trrili, sounding pleased.

I turned to see our largest and scariest crewmate doing her favorite thing: looming. Well, second favorite thing, after jumping out and startling people. It was probably good that she enjoyed being terrifying, because with an appearance that was a mix of praying mantis, black widow spider, and unholy nightmares, she was really good at it.

Captain Sunlight was unfazed. “Potentially threatening,” she corrected. “If you will kindly observe in case of problems, I would appreciate it.”

Trrili crouched lower and flexed her pincher arms. “Yesss.”

(Unnecessary hissing is her third favorite thing to do.)

“Right. They’ll be waiting.” The captain stepped forward and opened the bay door — with the airlock engaged. She really wasn’t taking any chances. I wondered if Wio was watching from the cockpit, ready to call the local authorities if need be.

Yeah, of course she was.

The first three of us cycled through the airlock, then waited on the tarmac while Trrili followed. The spaceport was a big one, with ships in all the nearby parking spots and people hustling to and fro. (They're more properly called berths or bays or something, but whatever; they're parking spots. Everybody there could land vertically, and the areas were sorted by ship size.)  I didn’t know which ship held the package we were meant to be picking up. Hopefully it was close.

By the time Trrili stepped out, the ship directly across from us had opened its own bay door, this one without any sort of airlock precautions. A snow-white Heatseeker trotted out and waved us forward. I was glad that the local weather was slightly overcast, since between those white scales and Captain Sunlight’s yellow, I would have been doing a lot of squinting on a bright day.

“Piercing Sunlight!” exclaimed the client. “Good to smell you.”

“Hello, Toothbone,” said the captain. “Always a pleasure. Is your comm system down?”

Toothbone swished her tail. “A precautionary measure. We had a bit of machinery repaired, and it came back with suspicious programming. We’re making sure it’s not malicious before connecting with any other ships, just to be sure.”

Captain Sunlight nodded while Trrili made a quiet hiss of disappointment. “Very sensible,” the captain said. “I trust this won’t affect the package you want us to deliver?”

“No, not at all. It’s a textile piece that one of our crew made on commission for someone on their home planet, no technology involved. Right this way.”

She led us up the ramp into their cargo bay, which had a lower ceiling than ours. Trrili and I both had to duck a little. The Heatseekers and Mimi didn’t notice.

Toothbone pointed out an awkwardly-shaped box that probably held an art frame as well as the promised cloth, and Captain Sunlight tactfully brought out the payment tablet.

Angry voices echoed down the hallway. Trrili perked up and edged forward; I stepped aside to let her while Mimi squashed down beside the package. Captain Sunlight glanced up but didn’t say anything. Toothbone just looked tired.

Since neither of them told her not to, Trrili opened the door and stuck her head out. Somebody shrieked. The sounds of the argument stopped.

“Isssss therrre a prrroblem?” Trrili purred.

“No — well yes, but not — who are you?” someone asked while other voices muttered in the background.

“Courrrierrr,” Trrili said.

“Thank you for your concern,” said an officious voice. “If you don’t mind—”

“Hey, is that a human?” asked another voice, and I saw brown eyes peeking around Trrili. “They’ll back me up! Hang on a sec. ‘Scuse me.”

Trrili stepped back as a slender human with dark skin and a wild-colored shirt skipped past. He hurried over to me. I braced for whatever conversation was about to happen.

“Hi,” he said earnestly. “Please tell me you’ve heard of the thing where people program old Earth games into unlikely bits of tech.”

“Sure!” I said. “My cousin put Doom in a hoverbike’s display screen once.”

“Yes!” He pointed at me and pumped a fist in the air, then turned back to the scaly faces in the hall. “You see?”

I connected the dots. “Did your repaired piece of tech come back with a game on it?”

He whirled, wild-eyed. “Yes! One of the repair guys is a buddy of mine, and he must have done it as a joke. I’ve been trying to explain it, but nobody believes me!”

“What tech is it?” I asked.

“Part of the medbay,” he said, running a hand through his hair. “Somebody sprained their tail, and the medic went to scan it for breaks, then they ended up with a screen full of demons and gunfire.”

I tried not to laugh. “Is it actually Doom in your medbay??”

He dragged his hands over his face. “It’s Doom in the medbay.”

“That’s amazing!”

By this point the other Heatseekers had made their way in to join the conversation, and to be formally introduced. Things got a bit chaotic. But I confirmed for the alien crew that yes, this was a thing humans did sometimes, and no, it was not a threat to the ship. Alarming yes, but not any form of viral attack.

Trrili was a bit disappointed, but everyone else was relieved. Captain Sunlight managed to steer the conversation back to courier business.

The other human shook his head next to me. “I can’t believe my friend did that. Well no, I can believe it; this is definitely his sort of thing. But jeez.”

“You might consider sending him another old Earth tradition in return,” I suggested with a grin. “Possibly a max-volume rickroll?”

He grinned back. “I might. I might indeed.”

WIP: ~*Amber's Lore Refresh Save 1.0*~

The Amber's Lore Refresh Save is a save file that you can use no matter what packs you have installed. Each world will only use CAS and Build/Buy content from basegame + the pack it came with.

However, each townie will have lifestyles/sentiments/club memberships/celebrity statuses/character values; as those should simply disappear if you do not own the pack, and won't disrupt your gameplay the way naked sims or missing build/buy objects would.

The main purpose of this save is to finally give TS4 premades the lore refresh they deserve. This includes lot renovations and CAS makeovers as well as fully fleshed out relationships/skills/likes & dislikes that actually reflect their household bios. Not to mention adding some spice to their stories to make things a bit more interesting.

Newcrest Cineplex

The Newcrest Cineplex is an entertainment supercenter right in the heart of Newcrest. In addition to the movie theaters, sims can also enjoy the arcade, karaoke lounge, and a private party room!

Exterior

The exterior is meticulously decorated, with a detailed parking lot leading to the rear entrance.

Interior

In the grand entryway, sims can browse the display of Starlight Stars, featuring iconic figures in film.

The restrooms are tucked away along the sides of the entryway.

Sims can grab their popcorn and drinks before the movie, or enjoy snacks and treats in the cafe.

The arcade is loaded with all types of games and activities. Sims can explore immersive gameplay, for a solo gaming experience. For the more competitive type, there's the arcade station, the gaming lounge, the game table, and a Voidcritter Battle Station for kids.

Note: I'm aware that sims don't seem to like the decor in the arcade, for some reason. There are several objects that have emotional effects, so I suggest enabling them to override the negative moodlet.

The upstairs lounge is a great place for a date night, with a stocked bar, and a live music stage for comedy, music, and karaoke performances.

Main Attraction: Movie Theater

There are a total of 5 theaters spanning both floors of the cineplex. Sims can enjoy a movie with friends or family on a big screen, in comfy seats, with captivating surround sound.

Note: Due to the split-leveling in the theater rooms, sims consider each row of seats as a separate room. So they will only watch the movie in the front row, and if there are no seats available, they will stand to watch the movie (unless you have mods, I suppose.)

Private Parties

Let Newcrest Cineplex host your sim's next party in the private party room! Featuring a buffet table with a drink fountain, a catering kitchen, and a private theater.

its often eaid that 'fma 03 was good except the ending is messy' and I mean cos IS overstuffed and doesn't get nearly enough time to explore the juicy implications of everything, and the very last tv episode does feel a bit of a rollercoaster having ed and al do the resurrection switcheroo so rapidly, but I feel like the weakest part of the show by far is the stretch whe wrath and greed arcs are running concurrently and constantly interrupting each other, and then show kinda loses momentum/direction for a bit afterwards. that just feels downright sloppy, whereas the ending might take a bit of reflection to process but I think at least is messy bc it's ambitious

Look i write my dreams down and slowly. Slowly i get to my limit with the newest. I will pos a few here now. Maybe then i can stop thinking about them.

1.I was in my old house in the basement. I watched Tv in the hobbyroom. We never spend much time there tho, except for me i was there a whole summer. I dont know why anyomre. Anyways, I watched Tv and informt myself about a horror cosplayer. Suddenly there were a demon face, a woman crawling without a head, in the TV, and other completly terrifying stuff. I ran upstairs but before i did, i wanted some proof and started to film from between the stairs, like there were gaps, but i think it already stopped from happen. Then i got up and didnt found anyone. So i ran to the next floor were my grandma was sitting with her back to me watching TV with my uncle. My uncle asked me "How does living with your grandma is going. I was confused, i dont life with my grandma, anymore at least. Also i was so scarred still but i knew they wouldnt belive me, so i just stand the and answerd what i thought he wanna hear. I said "Yeah its fine right Grandma?". She didnt turned around to me, but she said something i cant remember. I got back down and found my boyfriend sleepin on the couch. Completly coverd in a blanket. So i woke him still pretty scarred and nervous. We went into my REALLY little room and i told him what i saw. I whisperd "i saw it! That demon. And hes strong." I think he belived me, because we wanted to get out of this house. There were a bibel and a cross on the window still. My boyfriend got out of the room and i heard my mum say to him "Hey Tom, you can get out of the hospital when you smoke. So you can smoke nothing will happen" Because my Aunt said that to her, my mum was on the phone with her. I opend a drawer and saw to alexas. (Oh a detail i remeberd was that when i ran from the basment, there wasnt a door its an open stair case. I looked at the corner where my dad had always his computers and i thought "mh thats weird why arent they there?".) And uhm maybe some information that helps is that, my mum and dad divorced when i was pretty young, but my dad stayed in the house not my mum

2. I was in a playgriund as an adult. Its a place i knew from my childhood, its a big hall with massive ammount of playthings, trampolins, slides, jungle gyms. Stuff like that. Its was for kids between the age of 6 to 12 i would say. There also was a kids corner, were i always was to old for, in the dream too. But they could draw there play wirh more little things. In the dream i went inside with my boyfriend, there werent any minni humans anymore. We looked around the little kids drawing untill i noticed. Wait, thats my drawings, my darker ones to be specific. They looked like a kid had redraw them. I was confused i said to Tom. "Honey? There are my drawings" He didnt really belived me, even tho he should know my pictures. Then a woman came in, one of the caretakers. She was confused why we are there and i imeadiatly asked her who draw them. And now now it gets weird. She said ow a girl blahblahblah. I looked at the drawing and notices a sign there stand Lilith. But that wasnt all. As i went outside again, my boyfriend already by the car. 2 staff members came to me and talked to me in a closed room. They said weird thing going on and then they eaid like a spell. And i...i was blocked out of my own dream only black. Untill i got back out off the room. And went ouzside with some salt they had seemed to give me

3. I was back in my old hometown. Like i was travelt thru time. I noticed pretty fast, because of the shopping mile i was it there were shops that didnt excist anymore. The first thought was my grandpa. He died and back in time i would be able to see him again. So i started ranning too my old house, my grandpa was at work his car wasnt there. But i didnt think that tru. So i stood there infront of the house and i think i saw myself as a baby, my mother was carrying me. She looked young again. She saw me but didnt reconize me. I was pretty unsure because of time and i didnt wanted to mess things up. So i started to ran away. And she followed me asking if i was my dads new girlfriend. The one who he cheated on her with. I said no and ran away again. It was all very real feeling. Like i was back in time

4. Now one of the most intense one. I was somewehere and waited for Tom (My boyfriend) to pick me up. He did and on the right his friend called him. In the call he had on speakers, it came out he had been in an amusement park with his friend, his girlfriend and another girl. The girl said how much she had missed him and i was angry, so i went out of the car. And then oh boy....i started walking home myself but when i got in my old hometown, this wasnt my own hometown. It was a weird place. There were doors, everywhere, like colourful buildings door on door and open rooms. Like a setup were you could look in. And that was when i realized i was dreaming. So i opend a door scarred. A man sat in there on a chair, he had gray hair a gray light beard. A normal middle aged man. It was like a futuristic room. Nothing much there. I knew we talked, i dont know what anymore but, a voice told me, that i would told him im dreaming something terrible would happen. So i didnt. He wanted to make a picture or i wanted to make a picture. I dont know what i know was. There was this voice again. Telling me, if i wouldnt wake up now, i never will. I started trying to wake up. I needed more then 5 times before i was able to wake up fully. Like i blinked i was still there, it was like someone helped me pulling me out of it

5. I was at home, i dont remember what exactly happend in my home anymore. But this why i stargtwriting down my dreams. So i was at home and looked to clock who spinning increadibly fast. And in that second i knew i was dreaming. The floor under me cracked and the wall behind me dissapeared. I was floating around in the universe. The diffrent colours the stars. I just remember floating around.

So uhm its from new to old. I have a lot more. Some scarry some really....weird. buts always my old house and the basment there. It was a big old house. The basment was also really big. I had always been terrefyed of it. It was a lot of rooms and doors. And lets say, there happend some weirs things. It was never really dangerous but the vibe of it? Was at least scarry, damn even right now i get goosebumbs talking about it....
