A little background.......

I am an early years teacher and special needs coordinator, i am also Autistic.

I have not long been diagnosed and since then I have struggled to find out more information about the support available. If you are under the age of 25 in the UK then you are covered by the SEN Code of practice. Over that it would seem you are left to your own devices.

So it occured to me I shall catalogue the support i find in the hope it helps someone else. This will obviously begin with services near where I live but will also cover anywhere I travel too.

Have a question please ask.

Please be aware that I am not a medical professional so can not diagnose also these are things that help me, they may not help everyone.

This is an interesting 🤔quote isn't it. We need to be focused on where we are going. Do you remember Aesops Fable about the Hare and the Tortoise? I was partly inspired to write my 1st book because of a family member who is dyslexic. Analyzing Children's- what an amazing read ,here is my take on it , hope you grab one for yourself soon .

Mrs Kellogg has observed children's drawings from many countries. In the book, she suggests that children rely upon the self-reinforcing aspects of their aesthetic creations and they are not concerned with their bodily structures in real life. She also emphasises the point that adults make the mistake of evaluating the quality of children work with them -adult's artwork.#children

Early Years Teacher

I have just found out that my current employer will not pay me any more now that i have qualified as an early years teacher despite it being their idea that i do the training. I can not explain how upsetting and crushing this is, i have worked very hard with little support all year only to hear that if i want this work recognised then i must leave to go somewhere else. Nursery managers please don’t make promises to staff you can not keep and please value what Early Years Teachers can bring to your setting.
