my fellow food lovers. Today's topic is sushi. Sushi is one of my favourite foods. I typically have sushi every week. My go-to place to have sushi is EAV Thai & Sushi. This restaurant is located in East Atlanta Village. Hands down one of my favourite restaurants and Hector is my favourite server. If you never had sushi before and would like to try it I suggest coming here. On Monday and Tuesday nights they have specials and its the best way to try quality sushi without breaking the bank. My family and I went on a Wednesday. We had dinner here since my brother was in town visiting from the military. Coming here with a group is a great way to try a little bit of everything off the menu. This is exactly what my family and I did! For starters, we had the shrimp and veggie tempura. This was an appetizer of shrimp and broccoli fried to golden perfection served with a sweet chilli sauce. This was a great way to start off the meal. My mom ordered the spicy catfish with a side of steamed rice for her entree and when I tell you this catfish was every little bit of heaven on a platter.  I was skeptical at first because here in the south we serve catfish fried and serve it up with tartar sauce. I was wrong, big time! Despite the amount of sauce that was on top of the fish the crust of the fish was still crispy. The catfish was so flavorful and savoury. This dish was toe-curling finger-licking deliciousness. My brother ordered the Thai and Sushi East Side Combo. This came with 3 pieces of nigiri, California rolls with basil chicken, cucumber salad, and steamed rice. The entree came beautifully plated in a bento box. I ordered my usual salmon and spicy tuna. The sushi here is always fresh. I also ordered the coconut shrimp soup. This soup caught me off guard. EAV Thai and sushi has the best coconut soup I've ever had. The soup is seasoned to perfection. It's packed with flavour and with each spoonful it's like cosying up in a warm blanket. Needless to say, my family and I walked out of there with happy tummies. If you never been here before I highly recommend it. The ambience is just as good as the food and the prices. Let me know what you think if you do decide to go.
