omg tysm for reblogging that art piece of yours, I was so happy to see it again and it was so touching that my comment reached you! I'm curious, the shop says one of the print sizes is 8x24, do you know if that means it prints at the original piece's aspect ratio?
you are very welcome!
and that is something I actually have no idea about... the preview image shows a weirdly large white border, but 8x24 IS the original aspect ratio... 🤔
anyways if it shows up wonky I hope you can complain to INPRNT and get your money back (and then take it to an office supply/framing store where they can probably trim it for you)

One Piece characters Headcanons part #1 ✌️
>>>DON'T REPOST MY ART<<<
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silly little sketches of Shanks' Headcanons that I made during the morning. Just a warning that there will be a lot of text below, feel free to read if you want!!
========
• The famous "ugly charming guy". After all, I never considered Shanks a soap opera heartthrob, why, guys???!? Come on, this guy was a fool before the Time Skip and he gets a Mewing and a huge shape when he's a DRUNKER FULL OF JOKES?!
• Not very evident gray hairs. (He's almost forty, man. Age has caught up with him)
• A thin, unshaven beard (I DOUBT THAT SOMEONE LIKE SHANKS CARE MUCH ABOUT APPEARANCE AND VANITY)
• Very visible body hair (Especially on the forearms and thighs)
• Beer belly (I THINK I DON'T EVEN NEED TO Elaborate, RIGHT PEOPLE??? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. WHAT'S THE POINT OF A GUY WHO FILLS HIS ASS WITH SAKE AND BEER BEING SO RIPPED?? NOT EVEN A LITTLE BELLY?! Hey Shanks, you're already hacking with that haki of yours, let's take it easy)
• Subtle freckles on his face and body.
• Light sunburn on the face and torso (And we're talking about pirates who spend 12 hours a day in the sun. WHAT'S THE LOGIC WITH PEOPLE BEING WHITE AND ANEMIC, THEN TOEI???)
• He always needs someone to carry his body when the hangover hits hard the next day.
• Sertanejo/Pagode and MPB music lover (OH GUYS, ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME THAT SHANKS DOESN'T GIVE OFF THE VIBE OF A BRAZILIAN GUY FROM THE CENTRAL WHO EATING A BARBECUE WITH A LITTLE LEMON AND A DIRTY BEER IN HIS HAND IN THE SUNDAYS, JUST ENJOYING THE VIBE BY THE POOL?!)
• Floral underwear with silly, endeavourous prints (This one is the fashion squad's greatest enemy (or ally). As if Christ's sandals from the Roman Empire era weren't enough, this is the average Brazilian kit that has shorts or underwear full of tacky floral prints for a 60-year-old lady who stays at home watching Mexican soap operas on TV)
• And last but not least: THIS MAN HAS A BIG NOSE, THERE'S NOTHING TO SAY. HE HAS A BIG NOSE, PEOPLE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD 😭😭😭
• And he has a noticeable Adam's apple on his neck 👐

Hihi! I saw you wanted some requests sooo here I am! I hope that's okay! If not then ignore this :p but uh could I request some head cannons for the Wammy House Boys abt how they like to spend their free time with their s/o?? It can be short too if you'd like! The last thing I want is you stressing out! Have a good day/night!
How the Wammy Boys Spend Free Time With Their s/o
Bro you’re too sweet omg request as much as you’d like!! Sorry if this is a bit late! I think I sprained my ankle :p
Mello
- If you can cook or bake he likes it when you take him through recipes with chocolate as the main ingredient, lava cake especially! Might have to put out a few fires but it’s fine.
- he likes making the most of the free time he gets with you, so you’ll usually find yourself out and about.
- like there’s this one ice cream shop in the city that he loves, claiming they’re the only ones that get their chocolate fudge just the way he likes it with bits of fudge in the ice cream. He takes you there on his motorcycle whenever the time’s right.
- random ass competitions are also a common occurrence. “I bet I can finish my ice cream faster than you can.” “Which one of us do you think can scream the loudest?” And “Nah, I can hold my liquor better than you.” Are just a few examples.
Matt
- the obvious answer is that you guys like to play video games, which is true. He’s happy to show you the ropes to any game you want to try or play familiar games with you for hours.
- you spend a lot of time on YouTube as well, watching mindless videos and, I know this sounds random (because it is), life hack videos.
- something about the complicated way to solve an easy problem entertains Matt to no end. He can’t explain why and neither can I, I just get that vibe from him.
- you like to follow life hack tutorials and wait for Mello to get home and ask why you’ve made a toothpaste dispenser out of a syringe. He just wants to brush his teeth in peace. Also where the fuck did you get a syringe?
L
- L barely gets any free time, but when he does he just likes to relax. Usually you guys like to watch shitty movies and rag on them together.
- listening to music while reading is also up there on your activities list.
- Sometimes you guys prank the task force members, namely Light, but like…in the most petty ways possible.
- one time you guys hid all of Matsuda’s left shoes. Another time L showed you a still shot of the security footage paused right before Light sneezed, so naturally you printed out that shot and hid copies all around the headquarters.
Near
- You and Near often come up with games on the spot. You either use the base of a game like checkers, or you make your own game board and pieces out of construction paper if your rules are too unique.
- pillow forts. Usually it’s you doing the hard parts while he sits in the middle of everything just to make it difficult for you but…pillow forts!
- he has a surplus of plain white puzzles?? It’s to make it more difficult, you know that, but sometimes you’ll break out the paint and ask Near very nicely if you guys can paint over the plain white so that he has a more fun puzzle to complete next time. He’s usually happy to do so! (The arts and crafts kinda reminds him of Linda and how much he misses her <3)
- he’ll teach you rules to games you don’t know and you’ll play them on rainy days, spending the day in your pajamas.

Tutorial/Step-by-step/Tips 4
I will this time mainly talk about how to create coherent Characters Design, break down my thoughts process and give additional general tips
Since it's Concept Art, I won't do a "clean" lineart (I will mainly use my usual comfort textured brush and won't go further than a clean 2nd Sketch) nor add any shadings/effects (to not alter the color palettes)
Tumblr media
Those characters are my friend pages_of_altaire's OCs, Vlad Masters's employees
I’m not a professional and nothing is “rule”, just an art nerd sharing what they learn in their free time
Long post !
xxx
Step 0: Collect Information
It’s tempting to straightly jump into the drawing but I really don’t recommend it
I usually make a tab with a part including basic information like : Name, Hair color & type, Eyes color, Skin color, Height, Body type And a part with : Cloths, Particular Accessories, Personality
If your characters are good with themselves and not hiding personality traits nor secrets, their personality and what they do in life/where do they live should be reflect in their clothing (however it’s interesting to make contrast if you want to create surprise, like a ruthless evil character with childish traits, or a very kind and sweet muscular tall man)
Pages_of_altaire made me a tab with all the information + mood boards 👌💚
Tip: We artists are often confront to same-face syndrome, but I will add that same body type syndrome is also very common while less talked about (even in the professional world like comics, or mangas) I highly recommend you to try going outside the “perfect standard body type” we usually start our drawing journey with if you want to vary your characters and give more depth to your world & stories (manly to feminine, thick to thin, tall to short, muscular to frail, old to young...) Tip: Like changing eyes types, varying hair is also very interesting to give your characters more personality (long, short, straight, waivy, curly, coily, braided, tied, messy, clean) Tip: Including a little personalized accessories and details really make a character stand up and more “unique” (a ring, a watch, glasses, jewelries, freckles, make up, a printed t-shirt...) Tip: If you don’t have any ideas, searching clothes and fashions references on Google or Pinterest could help
.
Step 1: First sketch
This is just a really rough sketch to choose the eyes types and what poses would reflect each characters’ personality best
Eyes and face are the reflect of the character soul, it’s what we tend to look first and focus on (it’s biologic) so obviously we will have to be careful about the face
If the eyes are the soul, the hands are the spirit Don’t neglect how important hands are in a pose, are they showed ? hided ? crossed ? opened ?... A good pose includes good hands poses
Ask yourself, is your character cheerful ? grumpy ? confident ? cool ? shy ?...
Tumblr media
Tip: The spin also shows how confident a character is, they could rise up or bend Tip: To make an interesting character sheets composition don’t sort the characters by height smaller to taller, try to vary and make height “waves”
.
Step 2: Second sketch
I’m usually don’t bother doing a second sketch, unless I really want to have a clean final result But the cleaner your sketch is, the cleaner your final lineart will be
Since I’m still not totally comfortable with my anatomy (still working on my memories library) to make clean final product I generally use 3d models with the free app Easy Pose and adjust my sketch to give them the height & body type I want (changing the hips, busts, shoulders, muscles etc...), correcting the pose if necessary
Tumblr media
There is nothing wrong with tracing a pose as long as you trace responsibly, it’s really common in industries (like Disney or Ufotable) to use 3d models to speed up the work and make artists’ lives easier Good tutorial and explanations by @pesky-poltergeist under @the-stove-is-on-fire‘s art tutorial => https://pesky-poltergeist.tumblr.com/post/646558144390119425/wing-drawing-hack-trace-a-photo-no-seriously
Tumblr media
Tip: Use a dark blue instead of pure black to draw to rest your eyes, you will focus better this way and could still change the line color after :) Tip: To make a lively lineart, vary the line weight; thick for separate shapes & intersections, and thin for details & textures Tip: We tend to draw the eyes first, but try to draw the eyes at the very end of your sketch/lineart As said above, us human are social creatures, we are biologically programmed to search eyes and faces, by drawing the eyes first we tend to unconsciously search the eyes of our characters and then are distracted from the whole picture
.
Step 3: Silhouettes
The silhouette help to understand how strong a character design is, iconic characters like Sonic or Cloud have very distinguished figures A silhouette also help to see how confident a character is If the silhouette is still clear the pose is strong and the character confident, on the contrary if the silhouette is more blurry the character is more shy
Tumblr media
.
Step 4 : Values + Textures (useful for greyscale comics like mangas)
The most important in a drawing is values (brightness), before saturation and color/hue (if you don't know value/saturation/hue, I recommend you to search some tutorials about the color theory on Youtube) I always start with choosing my values before adding any saturation or colors
Values could drastically change the mood of a piece (calm, drama, tension etc...) and for character design, artists use a full range for clarity; from high key to low key
There my example with bad values, as you could see cloths, hair and skin blend together and make the visual difficult to read
Tumblr media
My final values, with define separations between the different parts
Tumblr media
Tip: When you are drawing a group, try to vary where the darker and lighter values are between each characters to make an interesting and harmonious blend Tip: Adding textures/patterns give more life to a flat 2D drawing, especially for clothes or backgrounds; you could hand draw it or use premade brushes
.
Step 5: Values / Hue / Saturation (Finished Concept Arts)
The value “rule” for clarity is still there for a colored drawing, you will just have a bit more values to consider
Tumblr media
Since I was working on a group, to not clash characters I decided to give each of them a different main color based on their personality
Abby - Green : Youth, Energy, Freshness (bonus: green go well with redheads)  Nate - Blue : Serenity, Stability, Wisdom, Reliability Jolie - Red : Passion, Danger, Importance Angel - Purple : Independence, Nobility, Bravery Brad Yellow : Joy, Optimist, Enlightenment
While adjusting my hues I adjust at the same time the saturation to make something harmonious to the eyes, I usually choose to saturate one/two piece(s) of clothes or accessories by character to make it pop, usually the main cloth or the hair
Tumblr media
To finish I just blur the line a bit, a bit of blushes, eyes lights and a paper texture on the whole piece Tada it’s done !!
Bonus: Step-By-Step gifs
Tumblr media
Thank you pages_of_altaire for the character design exercise opportunity
I haven’t draw braids nor curly hair for a while now and it’s good to challenge ourselves a bit sometimes It’s help me go back on art after some rough weeks, and force me to go outside my comfort zone and comfort characters (aka Danny & Dani)
If you have any questions don’t be scared to ask me, I’m not a professional but I like to nerd about art ^^ 💚

From the angst list: "I never loved you" with WinterIron if you're up for it? :)
Bucky takes a long look at the screen.
“Why me of all of us? Why can’t Nat do it?”
“You’re the closest to his type, whereas I am not,” Natasha says, looking particularly miffed. “At least, that’s what Bruce said.”
“And I’m the smart one on this team for this one,” Bruce says, sliding his glasses down his nose. “Stark likes tall, dark, and handsome. Also potentially someone who could kill him.”
“I can kill a man! You’ve seen me do it dozens of times!”
“And as satisfying as it is each time, still not who we need,” Bruce says. “You can be part of clean-up.”
“Why exactly are we doing this again?” Bucky asks. “Not saying it’s not necessary, but I’m assuming we can get past security.”
“Ix-nay on that,” Maria says, frowning. “We’re getting Tony out of the weapons distribution game. He’s been selling under the table to a group called Ten Rings, and we need that shut down. Also, his security is impossible to break into. Trust me.”
“Even past government level?”
“Especially past government level,” Bruce says, admiration laced into his voice. “Government level is stupid-easy to hack compared to Stark Industries. Theirs is like breaking into Heaven itself.”
“Or Hell, depending on your outlook,” Maria says.
“If their security is good, then it means I’ve been had,” Bucky says. “I don’t think they’re gonna bypass this face and go ‘oh yeah, perfect for the job,’” Bucky says. “Which, by the way, am I just seducing him or getting a job?”
“Seduction,” Natasha answers. “Bump into him. Disregard his status as a billionaire. He’ll swoon. Rich guys always do.”
“Good to know next time my rent is late,” Clint adds, actually writing it down.
“I have no idea why you always grumble that we never send you on missions when you do this,” Steve says. “But back to the subject.”
The plan is this:
Bucky runs into Tony as he’s out walking. For a billionaire, Tony is surprisingly easy to track down. Maybe it’s because he knows he’s built up a tech empire and if anyone does kidnap him (and they try) his tech quite literally saves him.
They’re theorizing if Bucky is an outlier, a chance encounter, they might have an upper hand.
He’s not sure, but hey. What the hell. Gets him out of the house.
Tony frequents a coffee shop that is unfairly tacky, has lemon-blueberry muffins, and Bucky is ordering an iced latte.
He bumps into Tony, sending him off-balance.
The man is tinier than anticipated.
Bucky all but lunges to make sure his head doesn’t go right into the glass windows.
“Sorry about that,” he says. “Wasn’t thinking that hard, sugar.”
Tony calls all of his friends by pet names. They figured he’d appreciate it.
Judging by the small smile making its way onto his face, he does.
“No harm done, not if I get to see someone as gorgeous as you,” Tony says, all but purring. “I’m a regular here, and I’ve never seen you before.”
“Just moved back to New York,” Bucky supplies smoothly. “Work opportunity.”
He buys Tony a coffee for the trouble.
Buying a man with all the money in the world, coffee.
He gets a number printed in blocky, engineering script on a napkin with a promise to “call for a date, if you want.”
He calls the next day, heart jack-hammering out of control.
It feels awkward to have Steve and Nat right there, egging him on to take him on a simple date.
They go on a picnic. The weather’s nice, Bucky’s nervous, and Tony grinning at him is not helping.
He feels...guilty. He’s pulled undercover work before, hell even gone down the same line of thinking.
But this...this is different. Tony doesn’t seem to even acknowledge that he’s the most well-known person in the world. Sure, there are the signs. Allusions to business, Obadiah Stane “killing” him so to speak, if he doesn’t get a weapon done in time.
Tony Stark is far more different than Bucky had expected. He wears old t-shirts and jeans that have definitely been in his closet for a long time, doesn’t always remember to style his hair, and definitely enjoys having Bucky around.
The terrible thing is that Bucky actually really enjoys the man’s presence. He’s casually affectionate, unaware that Bucky could kill him if he was feeling particularly bored.
Tony tells him about his day. About the little things in life, like that he discovered that he likes a certain kind of creamer or a funny thing Rhodey said.
His friends are guarded, but nice. They don’t trust Bucky, and for good reason.
(After all, Bucky’s just another one in a long list of people that have dated Tony for something.)
And he hates it when his eyes light up because he’s excited to see him, or when Tony pecks him on the cheek when they get to Bucky’s place (and it’s not his place, it’s a safe house that he had to personalize a bit), and just...
“You catching feelings?” Natasha asks.
“Doesn’t matter.”
“Good.”
They both know it’s not good.
In order to maintain a cover and not have it blow up in your face, you need to feel a little bit. Or be a hell of an actor.
Bucky’s not the type to be nominated for an Oscar. .
When he’s lying in bed, he remembers that Tony is the one who’s selling under the table. He’s causing needless deaths and it’s a shock to the system.
Because Tony can’t even kill a spider. He gets a napkin and shrieks as he flings it out into the patio garden he has. He coos when he sees a dog walk past the breakfast place they tend to frequent in fair weather.
Tony goes to farmer markets early and buys bouquets and hands out the baked goods to people on his way home.
He complains that he needs a pinstriped suit but nowhere makes it right. He puts his head against Bucky’s shoulder after a long day at work, and is very tactile. He puts Bucky’s hair into buns and is so delicate.
And it all is a lie.
It is a lie when Bucky pushes that one unruly curl out of the way when he kisses Tony on the forehead. It is a lie when he gives him fun space socks and laughs when Tony’s first action is to slide on the wooden floor.
It is a lie when they go to the art museum with hands interlaced and make fun of modern art. When Tony whispers that he loves Michelangelo, and everyone says he should like da Vinci, but he doesn’t. He can’t.
“Michelangelo painted and sculpted what he saw, and that was strength in people,” Tony says. “He used everyday models. He created a sense of pride in creation. And I never forgot that, that pride of creation.”
And Bucky swallows and it’s hard to breathe for a moment because creation is not something he would say.
Obadiah Stane knows about Bucky. He doesn’t approve of him because he is yet another distraction that pulls Tony away from work.
“You’re a golden goose, boy,” he says, putting a hand on Tony’s shoulder.
Bucky can’t help but be uncomfortable in his presence. He calls Tony “boy” and maybe that’s from knowing him from such a young age, but that doesn’t feel like it.
“Well this golden goose likes going on dates with his love,” Tony says, pecking a kiss on Bucky’s cheek. He smiles on instinct.
“Sorry, sir,” Bucky begins. “But he’s only human.”
Stane doesn’t like this Barnes guy. There’s something off about him, something that’s too...close.
He looks into Bucky Barnes.
Had some military service, was MIA. Almost declared KIA until a guy named Captain Rogers brought him back from somewhere in Eastern Europe, somewhere that Stane was familiar with.
He calls two numbers.
One is to inform the military of a surprise cancellation on a weapons demonstration regarding the Jericho missile.
The other is to a man who he hadn’t dined with in quite some time.
“Pierce, how do you feel about lunch on Saturday?”
Alexander Pierce is a man who is quite easy-going. He can do a lunch on Saturday, particularly with Obadiah Stane.
“Good to see an old friend again,” he says, taking his wine glass. “What do I owe an occasion for? Did you finally get Stark to agree to marry one of my nieces?”
“Not quite yet,” Obadiah says, smiling at the waiter. “Could I get the sirloin, medium-well? Thank you so much.”
“I’ll take the grilled salmon,” Pierce says, handing his menu over.
“How are the kids?” Obadiah asks as the waiter’s gone.
“Fine, fine. You know how the younger generation is. Think they know everything when they get to college. Samantha wants free college. Thinks we didn’t pay for anything back in the day.”
Stane laughs.
“They’ll do that, for sure. Tony comes back with all sorts of ideas in his head about medical fees and do-good-community-bullshit.”
Pierce takes another swallow of wine.
“I assume you don’t want to just know about my kids.”
“No, no that’s not all. I need to know how much you know about one James Barnes.”
Pierce stills.
“What do you know about him?”
“Tony has a new...partner,” Obadiah says, “and he goes by Bucky. I saw that he was nearly declared KIA. Can’t imagine that that was satisfactory for you.”
“It still isn’t. You know where he is?”
“I can point you to his apartment.”
“Excellent. Are we splitting the check?”
“I’ll get it, you get the other thing,” Stane says. “And don’t make it too big of a thing, okay? Dramatics aren’t what we need.”
“Got it. Thank you.”
They enjoy the steak and the salmon.
Stane tips absolutely nothing.
What Obadiah doesn’t know but probably should have is that Tony was sleeping over at Bucky’s place.
He would not have sent Pierce there at the time that he did.
He’s lucky that Bucky still remembers how to kill a man and gets out of the bed, knife already in hand.
Tony is clutching the blankets, frozen.
“You...what.”
“Do you have anyone after you to kill you?” Bucky pants.
Another guy comes up, and he’s not even looking at Tony.
Well. Looks like Stane looked into him a little bit.
“Babe, what the fuck is going on?” Tony asks sharply. He’s scrambling to get under the bed, yelping as he finds what is either the handgun or the machete. He thinks he put the handgun on the opposite side.
Tony pops out with the machete.
“I may or may not have not told you some things,” Bucky says, throwing the guy against a wall.
“Like fucking what?”
“I might have been a secret agency’s weapon for at least a year,” Bucky says. “In my defense, I remember nearly none of it except for sometimes.”
“Except for sometimes?!” Tony yells, brandishing the machete.
He’ll have to remember that he has the handgun on the other side.
“Darlin’, I need you to go to the kitchen and grab my cellphone. Call Nat, tell her you need help.”
It’s a whole clusterfuck is what it is. Bucky’s dealing with three different men all in varying states of pain in his apartment, his boyfriend (well, kind of a boyfriend, he doesn’t know he’s not one) is on the front lawn, and Bucky is in his room debating on redecorating tips and panicking.
“Why the fuck would someone send people after you?” Natasha hisses. “Who knows?”
“Stane, most likely,” Bucky says. “Got suspicious. Hated that I would take Tony out for dates.”
“Why, he homophobic?”
“Among other things. I think I cut into Tony’s productivity time.”
“Oh my fucking god, seriously? You took Tony out for ice cream and that’s what did it?”
“Most likely. Rhodes and Potts didn’t suspect a thing. I’m thinking Stane knows Pierce, probably made contact. But it begs the question as to why. Because he could get around my timing.”
“Maybe it’s not Stark who’s selling,” Natasha says, “and that means we’ve wasted a fucking year with this whole shtick.”
Tony is standing outside the door.
“You...so you were exactly like the other ones?”
Bucky’s chest constricts.
“I--I can’t say no.”
“So you never loved me?” Tony asks quietly. “Every single time you got me a present, it was just to lead me away from something else? Every single time you picked me up for brunch, it was an act?”
“Tony--”
“So after all this,” Tony says, gesturing to the framed pictures and the set of drawers that were specifically for him in mind, “you were gonna look me dead in the eyes and say ‘I never loved you’?”
“We thought you were selling weapons under the table,” Natasha explains. “We needed to get close without tripping any alarms.
Tony freezes.
“Well. You did your job. Now I’m getting the hell out of here. And I’m taking the fucking machete.”
Tony tears apart Bucky’s tires on his way out.
That’s fair.
Bucky was not expecting to feel like absolute fucking shit.
Or try to apologize to Tony.
He calls and texts and even shows up to the tower, but Jarvis says if he comes in then he’ll be obliterated to pieces.
“Does it help if I don’t care that I die?” He asks hopefully.
“I do not want to bother our cleaning services with something so trivial, Barnes,” Jarvis says.
Even his AI is mad at him.
Existence is a curse and a prison. He is definitely writing his own eulogy and telling everyone it was Bruce’s fault that he sent him instead of Nat. Nat probably could’ve done it. And not fucked it up and gotten feelings and now feel like drowning to Lana Del Ray.
“You’re so fucking sad,” Sam says, poking Bucky in the leg. “Stop listening to sad shit, I think it’s affecting Bruce. You know how Bruce is when Lorde comes on.”
“Yeah, he gets all mad and tells us we’re disappoints to natural worlds,” Steve calls out. “Bucky, you want a grilled cheese or are you gonna deny yourself a functional dinner and eat two pretzel rods later tonight?”
“Aren’t we out of pretzel rods?” Bucky grumbles back.
“I’m making you a grilled cheese now then. If you don’t eat it I’m going to tell you all about my day, and I had to wait in a really long line at the DMV.”
“Ugh,” Bucky groans. “How is your life sadder than mine at this point?”
“His life isn’t sad, it’s just boring,” Sam answers. “Steve, you’re boring.”
“If I’m so boring, then why the fuck am I still here?” Steve asks. “You never call Bruce boring when he rants about nineteenth century art and elitism.”
“That’s because I’m right and I called Cezanne a ‘punk bitch’ and made it funny,” Bruce says. “You are around for entertainment value and aesthetics only. Also because occasionally you let Sharon visit and I love her.”
Despite his best efforts, Tony is crying on a Friday afternoon at 2:34 p.m. This should not be happening, but it is.
Pepper says he shouldn’t have his desk face the door, it’s kind of sad.
“Just...god I hate that I like him!” Tony exclaims. “I hate that I know he kind of didn’t mean to do this, except he did, but he thought I was a criminal! And I still like him! Even though objectively what he did was bad but I haven’t talked to him!”
“You’re a sad little man,” Pepper says.
“If you call me a ‘little man’ one more time I think I might go unhinged and destroy the fourth floor,” Tony says. “And I know that you store your and Rhodey’s favorite coffee there because they don’t mess with cabinets.”
“You monster.”
Pepper reshuffles her papers.
“Well, while you sign these--and you willl, stop pouting--I’m going to tell you something.”
Tony starts signing.
“While I think that Bucky is questionable at best, I don’t quite think he was there because he wanted something. Other than you in jail, but like. I don’t think even that.”
“Should I be consulting a therapist about this?”
“Probably. Are you going to?”
“I’m me. No.”
Pepper snorts. She gets one signed form back.
“He felt guilty taking your gifts. He liked baking you desserts so when you got back home the house would smell like cookies. You’re not the only one who misses that, by the way.”
“So are you saying I should take him back?”
“At least talk to him. Decide if you want him back or not. Keep in mind he can’t come to family dinner for a hot minute.”
“Understood.”
Bucky gets a text asking about dinner.
He says yes.
Obviously.
They go to a restaurant neither of them know. Tony still passes an old dinner favorite, and remembers that Bucky had hated the fish.
Bucky passes by a breakfast favorite. Or late night favorite.
He remembers making little pyramids of the coffee creamers and Tony figuring out how to get creative with the tin foil for leftovers.
The restaurant has a fucking wait list.
Fifteen minutes.
So they’re standing there and making the most awkward small-talk available because it’s not like you can ask if someone is doing fine after they were attempted to be killed and you also found out they thought you were the criminal mastermind.
At least, you can’t ask it while you’re on a wait list at a restaurant.
They get seated at the bar because Tony is a gigantic pushover and Bucky doesn’t mind bar seats.
They order drinks and then Bucky orders an appetizer and it occurs to Tony that for the first time in a long time, he’ll have to ask to split the checks.
“How have you been doing?” Bucky asks.
How have you been doing. What a fucking sentence. What a damn question.
“Are you asking me how I am doing?” Tony responds. “When I found out that my boyfriend was faking it, my uncle was basically Claudius from Hamlet, and I also have to revamp my company entirely from scratch and fired the most amount of people I think I’ve ever done because of said-tragic-uncle? Oh James, I’m doing just absolutely peachy.”
Oof, James.
Bucky orders a martini.
“For the record, I am very sorry,” Bucky says. “About everything. I shouldn’t have done all that I did, and I probably should’ve just asked you if you were selling weaponry.”
“You think I would’ve told you?”
“Well no, but you’re the worst liar on planet earth,” Bucky says. “You said you liked my cardigan. You never did.”
“It was a monstrosity and you know that,” Tony argues. “I hope you burn it.”
“I’ll let you burn it,” Bucky says.
“Are you serious?”
“Course I am.”
They order from a very nice waitress who most likely has no idea the amount of shit they need to talk about, or the epic level of just...drama.
“How are you doing?” Tony asks, stirring his lemonade. “Still being a weird conman?”
“I usually am not the conman,” Bucky answers. “I’m usually the guy who’s long-distance.”
“What the fuck do you mean long--oh. Oh. Never mind, I don’t wanna know. Nope.”
“Well other than that, I’m fine. You know. Making coffee. Getting up in the morning. All that fun jazz.”
(Tony politely does not mention that all of those activities are not “all that fun jazz.” They are not fun, nor particularly jazzy.)
They sit awkwardly. Tony checks his phone.
“I still like you. And I want to hear your side of things,” Tony says. “I’m...open option.”
“You did not just say open option like you’re a college tour guide.”
“Get to the point,” Tony says.
“We thought you were the one double-dealing under the table,” Bucky says. “So we decided that I would go in. We couldn’t surpass your security, Jarvis is too good.”
“He’ll be glad to hear that.”
(This is because Jarvis is a Smug Bastard. Just like his dad.)
“And so I was introduced to you. Bumped into you completely by accident, or so it seemed. Sincerely didn’t mean to drop coffee.”
“Okay.”
“I was to get to know you in a way that didn’t involve anything with the company so that there wouldn’t be added security measures. You vetted me as a romantic interest, not a threat. You didn’t do deep digging.”
“Good to know,” Tony murmurs. “I did it after all of...that. You have an impressively mysterious background, Bucky.”
“I tried my hardest,” Bucky says.
“Continue with your story.”
“Somewhere along the line, I started...well I was conflicted. Because Tony, I don’t mean this as a way to sugarcoat, but you are genuinely one of the best people I’ve ever had in my life.
And I just...I couldn’t stop hurting myself every single time I saw you because I thought you were this person who put profit over people, and then you weren’t. And I completely fucked that up. And I was a terrible person who manipulated you. That wasn’t okay.”
“No, it wasn’t,” Tony says. “But it also should be said that I let the wool get pulled over my eyes. I wasn’t personally checking in on the company that I own. And if there were under-the-table dealings, the CEO should know. And I was just compliant with whatever Obie was doing because I thought that he was good just because I knew him. That was...stupid of me.”
They order food. It’s kind of awkward. They are both pretty sure the waitress has caught on that something is up with them.
Bucky decides to eat his mac n cheese.
Tony is looking at it.
“You want some?”
“Better not. Your appetite is always huge.”
“Yeah but you like mac n cheese.”
Bucky scoops some of it onto Tony’s plate. In usual circumstances, Tony would’ve just swooped in with his fork and stolen it like the gremlin he is.
But this is not the usual circumstance.
They split the check. Get the wrong bills. Pay them anyway, because they are nothing if not nice and slightly desperate for each other.
“I’ll..see you soon,” Tony says. “It was nice talking to you.”
They get to know each other as people, after that amazingly awkward lunch.
-
Tony finds out that Bucky really, really loves getting up early in the morning. He has a ritual that he rarely strays from. Bucky also likes working on cars and bikes, and that’s something they enjoy together.
Tony loves quoting old movies and talking in the very stupid but very adorable transatlantic accent.
They find new restaurants to try. They figure out that they both would prefer to not go into sandwich shops. (Varied reasons, all stemming from events from 2004. Do not ask.)
Bucky gets Tony a series of old movies and movie posters, which Tony adores. Pepper and Rhodey approve.
“You’re no longer on the kill-list!” Pepper exclaims brightly.
“I think Bucky here could kill you if he wanted to,” Tony defends.
“I could not,” Bucky immediately counters. “All of your friends terrify me on a level that shouldn’t exist.”
“I’ll keep this in mind the next time I want late night pizza,” Rhodey says. “You should not have shared with the class, Barnes.”
“Like you wouldn’t have found out anyway,” Bucky answers, snorting. “You found out where to find my middle school pictures and blow them up on Stark Industries’ presentation boards. What else couldn’t you find out?”
“Bruce’s phone number,” Rhodey says, sighing.
“Oh, I have that,” Tony says.
“And you didn’t tell me?” He screeches. “I could’ve been taking him to brunch by now!”
Tony rolls his eyes.
“You’re so dramatic. I have no idea where you got that from.”
Rhodey flips him off.
Pepper delicately sighs, picking her plate up.
“I’m turning in the for the night. Rhodey, I’d suggest you do the same.”
It’s not subtle at all. They all know that Tony and Bucky are going to talk.
They’ve been doing this dance for a couple of months now. Going on dates, leaving each other at the door and kissing on the cheek goodbye. Only recently has Tony restarted activities they used to do. It still sends a zing to Bucky’s heart when Tony kisses him on the cheek before he leaves.
“So.”
“So.”
God, what a great start. Really and truly. Their best one yet, of course.
“Listen,” Bucky says. “I don’t have a lot that you don’t already know. But what you should already know is that I will and can die for you. Doesn’t matter what the circumstance is. And I know you’d do the same, I can always tell. But I know that you dying for somebody is different from me because you carry the world on your shoulders and I don’t.
And these months have been rough, I know they have. I’m beyond grateful that you got that lunch with me and we agreed to actually date and have no secrets--except for the time you used the last of my blackberry preserves--but that’s okay. You can use all of my jams and preserves for whatever you want as long as I get to see you for the rest of time.”
Tony stills.
Because he wasn’t expecting this many words. He had actually prepared a whole speech. Even practiced it in front of his mirror.
(Also he was not expecting to be in his ratty old workshop t-shirt, but here he is.)
Tony melts.
He crawls into Bucky’s lap, sighing.
“I’m never leaving.”
“Really? After all that, and all I get is cuddles?” Bucky sighs dramatically. “The folly of man.”
“You get cuddles for the rest of time,” Tony says, “plus a little more. Discounted rate, of course.”
“Oh, a discounted rate?” Bucky says, cackling. “Debit or credit?”
Tony grins, laughing. He pulls Bucky into a kiss.
“Missed that.”
“Me too.”
They won’t miss it anymore. At least, not for as long as it was.

Elijah Post LFRP - Crystal data center
Tumblr media
The Basics ––– –
Name: Elijah Post
Age: 28
Race: Midlander/Highlander
Gender: Cis Male
Sexuality: Gay (but flirts with pretty much everyone)
Relationship Status: Sort of involved? (He will neither confirm nor deny there being a presence of embarrassingly soft feelings...)
Languages: Common, a rudimentary grasp of Doman
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Physical Appearance ––– –
Hair: Honey Blond and could definitely use a cut or a style… or a brush most days, to be perfectly honest.
Eyes: Amber – more a reddish-orange hue than yellow
Height: 5’6”
Appearance: He is an attractive enough guy: excellent jaw line, straight nose, striking eyes, long limbs, trim figure, and a charming smile. Unfortunately (for anyone who has to look at him) his fashion sense is … questionable at best. Most of his outfits consist of brightly colored, egregiously wrinkled shirts and pants that rarely make it past his ankles. He wears a lot of tacky jewelry, sunglasses inside buildings and most certainly at night, and there is a very real possibility that the only footwear he owns, besides a pair of fluffy pink slippers, are sandals – which he has, in fact, been known to wear with socks. Still, he carries himself with a lazy confidence that somehow makes his perpetual “I have just woke up in the middle of the afternoon” look seem more of an artful affectation rather than a cry for help.
One of the more notable things about him are his plethora of scars, with the most prominent being the one that runs diagonal across his face and the two sets of whorling burns along both shoulders – one creeping down over his right pectoral and the other running over the upper part of his left arm. His ring finger on his left hand is missing after the first knuckle (don’t ask about this one if you’re eating), and a long surgical scar runs vertically along his outer right forearm. Underneath his clothes are a smattering of healed bullet wounds and a few others of less identifiable origin, but you’re gonna have to buy him a couple drinks if you want to take a closer look.
Personal ––– –
Tumblr media
Profession: Journalist – specifically a freelance field correspondent who specializes in conflict journalism and investigative reporting. When he’s between field work, he often picks up puff pieces with local papers, writing about the arts, sports, culture, etc.
Residence: No permanent listed address – currently renting a room at the Hidden Pearl in the Mists. He can usually be found sitting at the bar after he’s just rolled out of bed, having bacon twists and sake for breakfast (at 2pm).
Birthplace: Ul’Dah
Religion: Meh
Likes: Day drinking, people watching, writing, sleeping, animals, (tall men)
Dislikes: Bureaucracy, wealth disparity, national pride, bullies, snobs, being cold
Fears: Commitment, being emotionally vulnerable, people in mascot costumes
Personality: Elijah seems like a pretty easy going, even tempered guy for the most part. He has a languorous, lackadaisical disposition – meandering through life as though he never really has a place to be, and if he did, he isn’t in any particular rush to get there. With friends or with strangers he’s quick to smile or laugh or tell a joke, affable enough that people tend to trust him with pieces of themselves without noticing he offers very little of himself in return. He can come across as flippant or indifferent in conversation, and while he is rarely intentionally cruel, he has a habit of jamming his thumbs into people’s buttons. It’s very possible he is just incidentally annoying rather than consciously so. He likes to maintain plausible deniability on that front.
When working in the field Elijah becomes much more focused – he stands taller, moves with purpose, exchanging his usual countenance of a rumpled layabout for that of a seasoned professional. He has on more than one occasion put his own body on the line (and in the hospital) in combat situations, or when pursuing a lead. He will recount each scar, and his half missing finger, with a joviality that some folks find off putting given some of the more grisly details. This disregard for his own safety is likely one of the (many) reasons he has never gotten a full time reporting gig with any of Eorza’s major newspapers – that, and he has a habit of leaving journalistic impartiality at the door. It’s clear from his writing that he has a deep well of empathy for other people and admires underdogs who fight uphill battles for high minded idealism, even if he ultimately believes their sentimentality to be a little bit naive..
Relationships ––– -
Parents: His Mother has passed, but his Father is still kicking and perpetually disappointed in his son! Their relationship is… strained by not estranged?
Pets: His Chocobo Bixley – but really, that’s more of a buddy and stalwart feathered compatriot than a pet.

Background information/ Potential RP Hooks? ––– –
Tumblr media
UL’DAH BORN AND RAISED: He lived most of his youth in Ul’Dah, haunting the less affluent areas of Eorzea’s grandest pile of rocks in the desert. His mother was an Ala Mhigan immigrant and his father just a simple Ul’Dah native who ran a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. His parents were very “hard work and sacrifice” types when he was growing up, giving away free meals to refugees and anyone who was hungry. They were well liked by those who knew them, veritable pillars of the community, for whatever that was worth in what was hardly a half step above a slum. His mother died a few years ago but his father still works in his run down little restaurant – lots of folks still recognize Elijah as his parent’s kid rather than for his own work. He has mixed feelings about it.
FREELANCE JOURNALIST WITH AN AXE TO GRIND: Elijah’s had work published in The Mythril Eye, The Harbor Herald, and The Raven. Because he has a reasonably good standing at these newspapers (and friendly relationships with some of the editors) he’s able to pick up the odd puff piece, op-ed, or political coverage gig in order to cover his expenses when he’s between larger assignments. In the past he has written some pretty incendiary pieces about Ul’Dah’s treatment of Ala Mhigan refugees, as well as a few pieces lambasting the noble houses of Ishgard and their complacency in the Dragonsong War and their collaboration with the corrupt Holy See, which has earned him a bit of a “reputation”. On the other hand, he is just as willing to throw himself upon the altar of journalistic tripe for a quick gil. If you have any tips or story leads you want investigated, Elijah just might be your man. If your character is involved at any of the major Eorzean papers, they might be acquainted.
CONFLICT REPORTING: Elijah has spent time in the middle of political unrest in Ishgard, covering Garlean incursions and skirmishes across the continent, and until recently he has been covering the ongoing issues in Othard. In fact, he’s only just returned from spending an extended period living with the resistance forces in Gyr Abania; and, he has some very strong opinions regarding the absolutely hacking edits The Mythril Eye made to his work before publication (without his permission). If your character was part of the fighting in Gyr Abania, Elijah might have spoken to them or went out into the field with them on occasion.
TRAVELING FOR WORK: Given the nature of his job, Elijah has visited most major cities while on assignment and has been known to interview common folks, political figures, travelers, military types -- anyone who will talk to him. If you've spoken to him in the past, your words might have ended up in print, for better or for worse (he has been punched in the face on more than one occasion, and he regrets nothing); however, he has never once burned an informant or lead that has come to him for help. He has enough of a reputation that folks (government and law enforcement sorts) might take to actively avoiding him.

The Player: Becks | They/Them | 30+ | Atlantic Timezone | Canadian
Looking for: Long term rp connections, short term adventures, friendship, rivalry, romance, I’m open to pretty much anything!
I’m a 30+ year old player who is a little anxious and shy when it comes to meeting new people on the internet (hence playing an extrovert to drag me out of my shell) but I’m really excited to make new friends and rp connections!! As I said, I am up for anything, including walk ups when I am out and about, and this character is on the surface level a very chill and friendly dude! I am, however, also someone who engages with a lot of mature themes -- not just swearing, drugs and alcohol, but also heavier themes (the realities of class disparity and poverty, the human cost of war, trauma, etc etc)  that might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But!! I wouldn’t just throw it out there willy nilly, and I believe firmly in communication between players -- discussing boundaries and limits is very important, as well as trusting each other enough to speak up if either party is uncomfortable!   I am cool with my character being injured, but please check in with me before doing anything drastic that will result in something permanent (like maiming or... y’know, death). Also I am open to rping romance (or lack of romance but the bits that go with it) though this character is currently not up for shipping adventures. Just to be clear, I am not comfortable doing that type of role play with anyone that’s under 25, sorry! I'm in my early thirties, and it would just be weird for me. We can still be pals, I promise! Please only reach out to me if you are 18+ and your character is 18+ -- I am not comfortable interacting with minors.
All art on this tumblr is probably mine unless stated otherwise! <3 Contact: Message me here on tumblr, /tell Elijah Post on Balmung, and if we become friends I am up for discord handle sharing! :D
I am open to cross-world rp and rp outside of the game as well!!
Now that I’ve got this edited how I want it... Boosts appreciated! Always looking for more active blogs to follow/be friends with!!

#1yrago My RSS feeds from a decade ago, a snapshot of gadget blogging when that was a thing
Tumblr media
Rob Beschizza:
I chanced upon an ancient backup of my RSS feed subscriptions, a cold hard stone of data from my time at Wired in the mid-2000s. The last-modified date on the file is December 2007. I wiped my feeds upon coming to Boing Boing thenabouts: a fresh start and a new perspective.
What I found, over 212 mostly-defunct sites, is a time capsule of web culture from a bygone age—albeit one tailored to the professional purpose of cranking out blog posts about consumer electronics a decade ago. It's not a picture of a wonderful time before all the horrors of Facebook and Twitter set in. This place is not a place of honor. No highly-esteemed deed is commemorated here. But perhaps some of you might like a quick tour, all the same.
The "Main" folder, which contains 30 feeds, was the stuff I actually wanted (or needed) to read. This set would morph over time. I reckon it's easy to spot 2007's passing obsessions from the enduring interests.
↬ Arts and Letters Daily: a minimalist blog of links about smartypants subjects, a Drudge for those days when I sensed a third digit dimly glowing in my IQ. But for the death of founder Denis Dutton, it's exactly the same as it was in 2007! New items daily, but the RSS feed's dead.
↬ Boing Boing. Still around, I hear.
↬ Brass Goggles. A dead feed for a defunct steampunk blog (the last post was in 2013) though the forums seem well-stocked with new postings.
↬ The Consumerist. Dead feed, dead site. Founded in 2005 by Joel Johnson at Gawker, it was sold to Consumer Reports a few years later, lost its edge there, and was finally shuttered (or summarily executed) just a few weeks ago.
↬ Bibliodyssey. Quiescent. Updated until 2015 with wonderful public-domain book art scans and commentary. A twitter account and tumblr rolled on until just last year. There is a book to remember it by should the bits rot.
↬ jwz. Jamie Zawinski's startling and often hilariously bleak reflections on culture, the internet and working at Netscape during the dotcom boom. This was probably the first blog that led me to visit twice, to see if there was more. And there still is, almost daily.
↬ Proceedings of the Athanasius Kircher Society. Curios and weirdness emerging from the dust and foul fog of old books, forbidden history and the more speculative reaches of science. So dead the domain is squatted. Creator Josh Foer moved on to Atlas Obscura.
↬ The Tweney Review. Personal blog of my last supervisor at Wired, Dylan Tweney, now a communications executive. It's still going strong!
↬ Strange Maps. Dead feed, dead site, though it's still going as a category at Big Think. Similar projects proliferate now on social media; this was the wonderful original. There was a book.
↬ BLDGBLOG. Architecture blog, posting since 2004 with recent if rarer updates. A fine example of tasteful web brutalism, but I'm no longer a big fan of cement boxes and minimalism with a price tag.
↬ Dethroner. A men's self-care and fashion blog, founded by Joel Johnson, of the tweedy kind that became wildly and effortlessly successful not long after he gave up on it.
↬ MocoLoco. This long-running design blog morphed visually into a magazine in 2015. I have no idea why I liked it then, but indie photoblogs' golden age ended long ago and it's good to see some are thriving.
↬ SciFi Scanner. Long-dead AMC channel blog, very likely the work of one or two editors and likely lost to tidal corporate forces rather than any specific failure or event.
↬ Cult of Mac. Apple news site from another Wired News colleague of mine, Leander Kahney, and surely one of the longest-running at this point. Charlie Sorrel, who I hired at Wired to help me write the Gadget blog, still pens articles there.
↬ Ectoplasmosis. After Wired canned its bizarre, brilliant and unacceptably weird Table of Malcontents blog, its editor John Brownlee (who later joined Joel and I in editing Boing Boing Gadgets) and contributor Eliza Gauger founded Ectoplasmosis: the same thing but with no hysterical calls from Conde Nast wondering what the fuck is going on. It was glorious, too: a high-point of baroque indie blogging in the age before Facebook (and I made the original site design). Both editors later moved onto other projects (Magenta, Problem Glyphs); Gauger maintains the site's archives at tumblr. It was last updated in 2014.
↬ Penny Arcade. Then a webcomic; now a webcomic and a media and events empire.
↬ Paul Boutin. While working at Wired News, I'd heard a rumor that he was my supervisor. But I never spoke to him and only ever received a couple of odd emails, so I just got on with the job until Tweney was hired. His site and its feed are long-dead.
↬ Yanko Design. Classic blockquote chum for gadget bloggers.
↬ City Home News. A offbeat Pittburgh News blog, still online but lying fallow since 2009.
↬ Watchismo. Once a key site for wristwatch fans, Watchismo was folded into watches.com a few years ago. A couple of things were posted to the feed in 2017, but its time has obviously passed.
↬ Gizmodo. Much has changed, but it's still one of the best tech blogs.
↬ Engadget. Much has changed, but it's still one of the best tech blogs.
↬ Boing Boing Gadgets. Site's dead, though the feed is technically live as it redirects to our "gadgets" tag. Thousands of URLs there succumbed to bit-rot at some point, but we have plans to merge its database into Boing Boing's and revive them.
↬ Gear Factor. This was the gadget review column at Wired Magazine, separate from the gadget blog I edited because of the longtime corporate divorce between Wired's print and online divisions. This separation had just been resolved at the time I began working there, and the two "sides" -- literally facing offices in the same building -- were slowly being integrated. The feed's dead, but with an obvious successor, Gear.
↬ The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs. Required reading at the time, and very much a thing of its time. Now vaguely repulsive.
↬ i09. This brilliant sci-fi and culture blog deserved more than to end up a tag at Gizmodo.
↬ Science Daily: bland but exhaustive torrent of research news, still cranking along.
The "Essentials" Folder was material I wanted to stay on top of, but with work clearly in mind: the background material for systematically belching out content at a particular point in 2007.
↬ Still alive are The Register, Slashdot, Ars Technica, UMPC Portal (the tiny laptop beat!), PC Watch, Techblog, TechCrunch, UberGizmo, Coolest Gadgets, EFF Breaking News, Retro Thing, CNET Reviews, New Scientist, CNET Crave, and MAKE Magazine.
↬ Dead or quiescent: GigaOm (at least for news), Digg/Apple, Akihabara News, Tokyomango, Inside Comcast, Linux Devices (Update: reincarnated at linuxgizmos.com), and Uneasy Silence.
Of the 23 feeds in the "press releases" folder, 17 are dead. Most of the RSS no-shows are for companies like AMD and Intel, however, who surely still offer feeds at new addresses. Feeds for Palm, Nokia and pre-Dell Alienware are genuine dodos. These were interesting enough companies, 10 years ago.
PR Newswire functions as a veneering service so anyone can pretend to have a big PR department, but it is (was?) also legitimately used by the big players as a platform so I monitored the feeds there. They're still populated, but duplicate one another, and it's all complete garbage now. (It was mostly garbage then.)
My "Gadgets and Tech" folder contained the army of late-2000s blogs capitalizing on the success of Gizmodo, Boing Boing, TechCrunch, et al. Back in the day, these were mostly one (or two) young white men furiously extruding commentary on (or snarky rewrites of) press releases, with lots of duplication and an inchoate but seriously-honored unspoken language of mutual respect and first-mover credit. Those sites that survived oftentimes moved to listicles and such: notionally superior and more original content and certainly more sharable on Facebook, but unreadably boring. However, a few old-timey gadget bloggers are still cranking 'em out' in web 1.5 style. And a few were so specialized they actually had readers who loved them.
Still alive: DailyTech, technabob, CdrInfo.com, EverythingUSB, Extremetech, GearFuse, Gizmag, Gizmodiva, Hacked Gadgets, How to Spot A Psychopath/Dans' Data, MobileBurn, NewLaunches, OhGizmo!, ShinyShiny, Stuff.tv, TechDigest, TechDirt, Boy Genius Report, The Red Ferret Journal, Trusted Reviews, Xataca, DigiTimes, MedGadget, Geekologie, Tom's Hardware, Trendhunter, Japan Today, Digital Trends, All About Symbian (Yes, Symbian!), textually, cellular-news, TreeHugger, dezeen.
Dead: jkkmobile.com, Business Week Online, About PC (why), Afrigadget (unique blog about inventors in Africa, still active on FaceBook), DefenseTech, FosFor (died 2013), Gearlog, Mobile-Review.com (but apparently reborn as a Russian language tech blog!), Robot's Dreams, The Gadgets Weblog, Wireless Watch Japan, Accelerating Future, Techopolis, Mobile Magazine, eHome Upgrade, camcorderinfo.com (Update: it became http://Reviewed.com), Digital Home Thoughts (farewell), WiFi Network News (farewell), Salon: Machinist, Near Future Lab, BotJunkie (twitter), and CNN Gizmos.
I followed 18 categories at Free Patents Online, and the site's still alive, though the RSS feeds haven't had any new items since 2016.
In the "news" folder, my picks were fairly standard stuff: BBC, CNET, digg/technology, PC World, Reuters, International Herald Tribune, and a bunch of Yahoo News feeds. The Digg feed's dead; they died and were reborn.
The "Wired" feed folder comprised all the Wired News blogs of the mid-2000s. All are dead. 27B Stroke 6, Autopia, Danger Room, Epicenter, Gadget Lab, Game|Life, Geekdad, Listening Post, Monkey Bites, Table of Malcontents, Underwire, Wired Science.
These were each basically one writer or two and were generally folded into the established mazagine-side arrangements as the Age of Everyone Emulating Gawker came to an end. The feed for former EIC Chris Anderson's personal blog survives, but hasn't been updated since his era. Still going strong is Bruce Sterling's Beyond the Beyond, albeit rigged as a CMS tag rather than a bona fide site of its own.
Still alive from my 2007 "Science" folder are Bad Astronomy (Phil Plait), Bad Science (Ben Goldacre), Pharyngula (PZ Myers) New Urban Legends, NASA Breaking News, and The Panda's Thumb.
Finally, there's a dedicated "iPhone" folder. This was not just the hottest toy of 2007. It was all that was holy in consumer electronics for half a decade. Gadget blogging never really had a golden age, but the iPhone ended any pretense that there were numerous horses in a race of equal potential. Apple won.
Still alive are 9 to 5 Mac, MacRumors, MacSlash, AppleInsider and Daring Fireball. Dead are TUAW, iPhoneCentral, and the iPhone Dev Wiki.
Of all the sites listed here, I couldn't now be paid but to read a few. So long, 2007.

REBECCA CHAPMAN, who has a master of arts in English and comparative literature from Columbia University, hit bottom professionally last summer when she could not even get a job that did not pay. Vying for an internship at a boutique literary agency in Manhattan, Ms. Chapman, 25, had gone on three separate interviews with three people on three different days. “They couldn’t even send me an e-mail telling me I didn’t get it,” she said.
It’s a story familiar to anyone seeking to break into the New York publishing world. Willie Osterweil, 25, an aspiring novelist who graduated magna cum laude from Cornell in 2009, found himself sweeping Brooklyn movie theaters for $7.25 an hour. And the closest that Helena Fitzgerald, a recent Columbia graduate, got was an interview at a top magazine, during which the editor dismissed her literary career dreams, telling her, “C’mon, that’s not realistic.”
Which explains, in a way, how they all ended up on a crisp November night, huddled together at an invitation-only party at a cramped, bookshelved apartment on the Upper East Side.
It was the weekly meeting of The New Inquiry, a scrappy online journal and roving clubhouse that functions as an Intellectuals Anonymous of sorts for desperate members of the city’s literary underclass barred from the publishing establishment. Fueled by B.Y.O.B. bourbon, impressive degrees and the angst that comes with being young and unmoored, members spend their hours filling the air with talk of Edmund Wilson and poststructuralism.
Lately, they have been catching the eye of the literary elite, earning praise that sounds as extravagantly brainy as the thesis-like articles that The New Inquiry uploads every few days.
“They’re the precursor of this kind of synthesis of extrainstitutional intellectualism, native to the Internet, native to the city dweller,” said the novelist Jonathan Lethem, an early champion.
“They’re not trapped within an old paradigm,” he added. “They’re just making it their own.”
The New Inquiry is edited by Rachel Rosenfelt, 26, who graduated from Barnard College in 2009. Though she had some luck finding work, her exposure to the literary establishment left her unimpressed. “It killed my interest in publishing,” she said of her internship at The New Yorker during her freshman year. “It just felt like they had all ‘arrived.’ It was boring. No one talked. The only real rule was, ‘Don’t mess this up.’ ”
Young, Web-savvy and idealistic, she and two friends — Jennifer Bernstein and Mary Borkowski — wanted to create their generation’s version of cultural criticism, equally versed in Theodor Adorno and Britney Spears. Finding contributors was easy: their social circle was filled with overeducated, underemployed postgrads willing to work free to be heard on subjects like Kanye West’s effect on the proletarian meta-narrative of hip-hop.
After earning a master’s and writing on a farm in upstate New York, Ms. Chapman returned to the city uncertain about what to do next.
“I met Rachel on one of my first days back,” she said, “and she was like, ‘Be our new literary editor.’ ”
There was no thought of turning a profit. But who cared? No one was making any money on the traditional path, anyway.
“There’s something incredibly liberating,” Ms. Rosenfelt  said, “when you realize that climbing that ladder is a ladder to nowhere.”
Ms. Chapman added: “My whole life, I had been doing everything everybody told me. I went to the right school. I got really good grades. I got all the internships. Then, I couldn’t do anything.”
Ms. Rosenfelt and her collaborators envisioned a kind of literary salon reminiscent of the Lost Generation of the 1920s. So once a week, about 20 of The New Inquirer’s contributors and guests gather at an unmarked clandestine bookstore, a sort of literary speakeasy, in a second-floor, three-room apartment on the Upper East Side.
At 9 p.m. on a recent Thursday, Ms. Rosenfelt, wearing a black sweater, miniskirt and combat boots, appeared behind a blue door in the unimposing prewar apartment building. The door creaked open to reveal a disheveled space that looked like a used-book store in any college town, with shelves of yellowing volumes of Dostoyevsky and Camus reaching to the ceiling and air thick with the musty smell of stale tobacco and old paperbacks.
This space belongs to a bookseller in his 50s, the godfather for The New Inquiry, a man with bushy brows and the affably abstruse mien of a coffeehouse intellectual. (He asked that his name and identifying details not be published because his building prohibits a shop in the space.) He opens only by invitation, when he feels like it.
Ms. Rosenfelt described meeting there as a form of “urban hacking.”
For the first hour, attendees, most in their mid-20s and many dressed in untucked oxford shirts and off-brand jeans, mingled around a rickety table packed with half-empty Jim Beam bottles.
Despite the fact that everyone was young and attractive, no one seemed to flirt or network. Instead, they traded heady banter about the Situationists and reveled in an atmosphere of warmhearted mutual support; it felt like an oral dissertation mixed with a ’70s encounter group.
At one point, a few debated, only half-ironically, whether a new bank in a former Dunkin Donuts nearby was philosophically akin to the French reactionaries’ construction of the Sacré Coeur basilica on the site of the Paris Commune’s insurrection in 1870.
Then, around 10 p.m., Ms. Rosenfelt called everyone into the main room. The highlight of each salon is a group reading in which each person selects a three-minute reading on the predetermined topic.
“We’re reading about ‘failed revolutions’ tonight,” Ms. Rosenfelt reminded the crowd. She started with a passage from “To the Finland Station,” “in which Edmund Wilson couches the inevitable failure of Marxism in Edmund Wilson’s idea of the national and ethnic identity of Marx.”
The room exploded in vaudeville-style hoots.
Continuing around the circle, Ms. Fitzgerald, the would-be magazine writer, read from “The Cantos,” by Ezra Pound. Mr. Osterweil, the frustrated novelist, read from Guy Debord’s “Society of the Spectacle.” Tim Barker, a junior at Columbia, awkwardly admitted that he, too, had chosen a reading from Debord. (What are the odds?)
One young attendee offered a reading from Gustave Flaubert’s “Sentimental Education.”
“A lot of this book takes place during the revolutions of 1848,” he explained. “The part that I think has a good point for revolutionaries is how quickly a failed revolution can descend into careerism.”
The word hung in the air, as noxious as cigarette smoke.
DESPITE its slacker-revolutionary spirit, The New Inquiry is starting to tiptoe toward the publishing mainstream.
With an audience that understands references to consumerism as “a hedonic treadmill,” many articles in The New Inquiry make The Paris Review look like a beach read. Arch and often aggressively leftist, the articles dance effortlessly from Jacques Derrida to Lady Gaga.
Recent pieces include a review of Ben Jeffery’s “Anti-Matter”; a critical survey of the novels of the French provocateur Michel Houellebecq; an essay on the class struggle portrayed in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”; and a personal piece by Malcolm Harris, a young writer who recalled growing up in the suburbs and finding sanctuary in Borders.
The journal counts cultural savants like Todd Gitlin, Douglas Rushkoff and Mark Greif, a founder of N + 1, as early champions, and articles have been linked on Andrew Sullivan’s Daily Beast blog and the National Public Radio Web site. Even barbs by the establishment elicit pride, like when James Wolcott of Vanity Fair called Mr. Osterweil’s film criticism “Maoist” on Twitter.
On Sunday, the journal is to make a social debut of sorts among the city’s literary A-list, organizing — in partnership with the publisher New Directions, Google and others — a marathon reading of Frederic Tuten’s novel “The Adventures of Mao on the Long March,” featuring 60 readers, including writers like A. M. Homes, Kurt Andersen and Oscar Hijuelos, at the Jane hotel in the West Village.
And even though staff members routinely serve up gloomy eulogies over the “death of print,” the publication plans to roll out a quarterly print edition next year, along with an iPad magazine for $2 a month. Its breakout stars are even starting to climb publishing’s “ladder to nowhere.”
Atossa Abrahamian, 25, an editor, has written for New York Magazine. Sarah Leonard, 23, is an associate editor at Dissent. Mr. Harris, 22, who was sifting through grad-school rejection notices a year ago, has written for N + 1 and Utne Reader and has been called out by Glenn Beck on television.
This is not to say that the generational angst fueling The  New Inquiry is likely to vanish soon. At the most recent salon two weeks ago, Will Canine, the operations director, showed up with 5 o’clock shadow after spending 35 hours in jail following his arrest at the Occupy Wall Street protests.
Tim Barker, a junior at Columbia, said he was drawn to the salons for the chance to “discuss ideas at an extremely high level, without worrying about status or material support of traditional institutions: publishing houses or universities.” He added, though, that while he aspires to be a history professor, he was “extremely conscious of the contraction of job opportunities” in publishing and academia.
Inside the bookstore, however, the turmoil of the outside world seemed far away. The lights were low, the conversation crackling.
“This is my fantasy: a room full of books, people talking about books — it smells like books,” explained Ms. Chapman, the journal’s literary editor. “It’s the literary community that I had read about when I was younger. It’s Moveable Feast-type stuff.”
Despite her upbeat take on the proceedings, Ms. Chapman admitted she wasn’t feeling chipper. It was her birthday. A happy occasion? For most, maybe — but not, she explained, when you are turning 25, having graduated summa from Cornell, with a master’s from Columbia, only to find yourself unemployed and back living at home with your parents.

Password cracking is the art of recovering stored or transmitted passwords. Password strength is determined by the length, complexity, and unpredictability of a password value. Common password techniques include dictionary attacks, brute force, rainbow tables, spidering and cracking. Password cracking tools simplify the process of cracking. Login to Account, type anything into the username and password boxes (random), and it will show a connection error, but then it will correct automatically and login will successful. However, passwords can also introduce security vulnerabilities. Password crackers are designed to take credential data stolen in a data breach or other hack and extract passwords from it.
What is password cracking?
A well-designed password-based authentication system doesn’t store a user’s actual password. This would make it far too easy for a hacker or a malicious insider to gain access to all of the user accounts on the system.
Instead, authentication systems store a password hash, which is the result of sending the password — and a random value called a salt — through a hash function. Hash functions are designed to be one-way, meaning that it is very difficult to determine the input that produces a given output. Since hash functions are also deterministic (meaning that the same input produces the same output), comparing two password hashes (the stored one and the hash of the password provided by a user) is almost as good as comparing the real passwords.
Password cracking refers to the process of extracting passwords from the associated password hash. This can be accomplished in a few different ways:
Dictionary attack: Most people use weak and common passwords. Taking a list of words and adding a few permutations — like substituting $ for s — enables a password cracker to learn a lot of passwords very quickly.
Brute-force guessing attack: There are only so many potential passwords of a given length. While slow, a brute-force attack (trying all possible password combinations) guarantees that an attacker will crack the password eventually.
Hybrid attack: A hybrid attack mixes these two techniques. It starts by checking to see if a password can be cracked using a dictionary attack, then moves on to a brute-force attack if it is unsuccessful.
Simplify3d Software
Most password-cracking or password finder tools enable a hacker to perform any of these types of attacks. This post describes some of the most commonly used password-cracking tools.
Hi Daniel, When you run Simplify3D for the first time, you need to run as administrator. Download tell me more english v10 full crack version. If you’re already doing this and it doesn’t work then I would try disabling the firewall while you activate the software.

7. RainbowCrack
Simplify3d Free License Download
All password-cracking is subject to a time-memory tradeoff. If an attacker has precomputed a table of password/hash pairs and stored them as a “rainbow table,” then the password-cracking process is simplified to a table lookup. This threat is why passwords are now salted: adding a unique, random value to every password before hashing it means that the number of rainbow tables required is much larger.
RainbowCrack is a password cracking tool designed to work using rainbow tables. It is possible to generate custom rainbow tables or take advantage of preexisting ones downloaded from the internet. RainbowCrack offers free downloads of rainbow tables for the LANMAN, NTLM, MD5 and SHA1 password systems.
Download rainbow tables here.
A few paid rainbow tables are also available, which you can buy from here.
This tool is available for both Windows and Linux systems.
Download RainbowCrack here.
8. OphCrack
OphCrack is a free rainbow table-based password cracking tool for Windows. It is the most popular Windows password cracking tool but can also be used on Linux and Mac systems. It cracks LM and NTLM hashes. For cracking Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, free rainbow tables are also available.
A live CD of OphCrack is also available to simplify the cracking. One can use the Live CD of OphCrack to crack Windows-based passwords. This tool is available for free.
Download OphCrack here.
Download free and premium rainbow tables for OphCrack here.
9. L0phtCrack
L0phtCrack is an alternative to OphCrack. It attempts to crack Windows passwords from hashes. For cracking passwords, it uses Windows workstations, network servers, primary domain controllers and Active Directory. It also uses dictionary and brute-force attacks for generating and guessing passwords. It was acquired by Symantec and discontinued in 2006. Later, L0pht developers again reacquired it and launched L0phtCrack in 2009.
L0phtCrack also comes with the ability to scan routine password security scans. One can set daily, weekly or monthly audits, and it will start scanning at the scheduled time.
Learn about L0phtCrack here.
10. Aircrack-ng
Aircrack-ng is a Wi-Fi password-cracking tool that can crack WEP or WPA/WPA2 PSK passwords. It analyzes wireless encrypted packets and then tries to crack passwords via the dictionary attacks and the PTW, FMS and other cracking algorithms. It is available for Linux and Windows systems. A live CD of Aircrack is also available.

How to create a password that’s hard to crack
In this post, we have listed 10 password-cracking tools. These tools try to crack passwords with different password-cracking algorithms. Most of the password cracking tools are available for free. So, you should always try to have a strong password that is hard to crack. These are a few tips you can try while creating a password.
The longer the password, the harder it is to crack: Password length is the most important factor. The complexity of a brute force password guessing attack grows exponentially with the length of the password. A random seven-character password can be cracked in minutes, while a ten-character one takes hundreds of years.
Always use a combination of characters, numbers and special characters: Using a variety of characters also makes brute-force password-guessing more difficult, since it means that crackers need to try a wider variety of options for each character of the password. Incorporate numbers and special characters and not just at the end of the password or as a letter substitution (like @ for a).
Variety in passwords: Credential stuffing attacks use bots to test if passwords stolen from one online account are also used for other accounts. A data breach at a tiny company could compromise a bank account if the same credentials are used. Use a long, random, and unique password for all online accounts.
What to avoid while selecting your password
Saa7134 tv card driver free download. Cybercriminals and password cracker developers know all of the “clever” tricks that people use to create their passwords. A few common password mistakes that should be avoided include:
Using a dictionary word: Dictionary attacks are designed to test every word in the dictionary (and common permutations) in seconds.
Using personal information: A pet’s name, relative’s name, birthplace, favorite sport and so on are all dictionary words. Even if they weren’t, tools exist to grab this information from social media and build a wordlist from it for an attack.
Using patterns: Passwords like 1111111, 12345678, qwerty and asdfgh are some of the most commonly used ones in existence. They’re also included in every password cracker’s wordlist.
Using character substitutions: Character substitutions like 4 for A and $ for S are well-known. Dictionary attacks test for these substitutions automatically.
Using numbers and special characters only at the end: Most people put their required numbers and special characters at the end of the password. These patterns are built into password crackers.
Using common passwords: Every year, companies like Splashdata publish lists of the most commonly used passwords. They create these lists by cracking breached passwords, just like an attacker would. Never use the passwords on these lists or anything like them.
Using anything but a random password: Passwords should be long, random, and unique. Use a password manager to securely generate and store passwords for online accounts.
Conclusion
Password-cracking tools are designed to take the password hashes leaked during a data breach or stolen using an attack and extract the original passwords from them. They accomplish this by taking advantage of the use of weak passwords or by trying every potential password of a given length.
Password finders can be used for a variety of different purposes, not all of them bad. While they’re commonly used by cybercriminals, security teams can also use them to audit the strength of their users’ passwords and assess the risk of weak passwords to the organization.
Nowadays, for most of us, it is easy to believe that we are completely safe on theWeb. Modern life makes us choose one of the endless websites that we are part of. When we consider the real-life chance that an individual will be hacked in a given year, we find it impossible not to think of something we’ve heard so many computer users say: “It won’t happen to me.”

What are the chances you’ll get hacked? If we look at some examples:
A couple of years ago the National Cyber Security Alliance estimated the chances of a small business being hacked at 20% each year
More figures from the UK show that there were 2.5 Million recorded cyber-crimes in Britain in 2014. Despite this accounting for ten percent of the population, KPMG commented on the release of the study that due to so many incidents being unreported, the true figure was probably far higher.
This suggests that compiling a range of studies places the annual percentage of getting hacked (in some way) at just below 31% – around a 1 in 3 chance. Yes, one could be pedantic about the sample sizes, but these studies are often rather subjective. We still arrive at around a 1 in 3 chance of being hacked, even after being cautious with the numbers.

It is hard for users to remember one specific password for each site. That makes a lot easier for a single person with minimum knowledge to break our security and get access to our info. We are vulnerable. Just this year, passwords like “123456” are still very popular among people.
We are living in a digital world, where we make almost any kind of transaction using the Internet. We use passwords every day for email and other accounts.
The security policies of many of websites leave information completely exposed. Every day, people develop a new program or new technique to crack our security. There are articles that explain how a hacker can crack your account password very easily, just using a variety of programs like a simple password-guessing program. This program makes multiple guesses until the password is fully cracked. The program may take a few minutes or a century; it depends on the complexity of the password. Other methods like key loggers consist of hardware devices attached to your computer that can copy your information through keywords that you use to access the accounts. Hacking through phones is another way for these people to steal your data. Using programs that can duplicate what you see on your phone, it is relatively easy for them to get your password from your phone.
These hackers can scam every person who has a personal account. They can spy on what you search, by knowing what you been looking for, that’s an easy way to let you give them all they need.
You may be wondering how exactly you could get hacked? The first thing to know is that the days where all you had to worry about were pesky Windows viruses are long gone. Much hacking nowadays starts with a little social engineering and trickery before the actual techie stuff starts.
So, with that in mind, I’ll begin my round-up of some of the key flavors of hacking with the activity I almost fell victim to recently: Phishing.
Phishing is maybe the most used technique for hackers to get your password because the cost and creation is excessively easy. It consists of creating a false application or false message to get the user to supply all o their information into a site that can copy that immediately. Your bank account and your email account are easy targets for these kind of programs.
Stealers are another kind of hacker. Many people using the browser leave their information floating there. It takes nothing for a person with knowledge to get those numbers or letters that keep him away from all your data.

Although a traditional antivirus product is still commonly seen as the first line of defense in computer security, “old school” viruses and Trojans seem (subjectively) to be falling out of favor somewhat with cyber-criminals. Antivirus software, email software, and even operating systems themselves have toughened up against these “traditional” threats in recent years, leading many criminals to move into the more lucrative phishing and others activities described above.

On the other hand, websites lock your account automatically after 2 or 3 attempts. If you use a simple password that is not so hard to break it.
Download free temporary v5 file converter - download free apps. Filmora 8 7 5 mac. This type of cracking is when the hacker is pretending to be you. If you consider password composed of letters, numbers, and symbols that are roughly 100 combinations per character a five-character password will have 10 billion combinations, it seems like a lot of time, but a hacker can break a password like this, in 10 seconds.

For example, you can put more characters in your password to be more protected:

5 characters = 10 seconds
6 characters = 1,000 seconds
7 characters = 1 day
8 characters = 115 days
9 characters = 31 years
10 characters = 3,000 years
Here’s a list of common ways to be more efficient with your passwords:
Capitalizing the first letter of a word.
Checking all combinations of upper/lower case for words.
Inserting a number randomly in the word.
Putting numbers on the ends of words.
Putting numbers on the beginning of words.
Putting the same pattern at both ends, like *foobar*.
This is why you need long passwords. Hackers can usually break anything with seven characters or fewer. Lumion 9 download crack. They would be unlikely to guess a password that is composed of nine characters or more, combined with symbols. It would take almost a century to break such a password. People need to be more aware of this thing if we expect to be secure on the web. We can use multiple techniques to make our password safer. Hackers can use many tricks, dictionary attacks if you use lower and upper case, combinations of many letters in symbols with international characters like a vowel with an umlaut that will take any password hacker out. You should remember this advice any time you get into new websites that require a secure password.
The protection that you get depends on how creative you can be. Super smash flash 2 download characters. Remember the common phrase “If you can remember it someone else can figure out.” The safest password that you can put on your accounts are random passwords that are very hard to remember, but that is very difficult to do. Research also indicates that people only have the ability to remember about 10 passwords.
The odd solution is to forget about your password. While it may seem less productive, the best way to remember your password is to create one that you are going to forget, random strings are hard times for hackers.
Also, there are companies that provide that kind of service for you. They protect your accounts from these problems, and they have programs that can generate multiple passwords in seconds that make your accounts almost unbreakable.
If we keep any important information on the web, we must expect that someone, somewhere around the world is waiting to steal that from us. In an era where everything is connected, it is exhausting to hide our information, such as with social media sites.
People are more vulnerable to hackers or scams of any kind. The freedom that social media provides for people to see it all in our profile put us in a very dangerous place if we don’t consider learning about tricks or advice that protect us from those people.
There are going to be times when you can lose your bank account, your credit card code, or email without you even noticing it. That kind of knowledge is something that we must acquire. The Internet has a lot of advantages but also has disadvantages. It has a dark part which can be reduced if we follow the recommendations. Not only with programs that can generate passwords in a few seconds.
Hackers can redirect our information to themselves. One of the most used ways for these people to get your information are malicious websites, where if we click in one of the many links that they have, they send some virus to your computer that can crash it or can copy all your files immediately. They can lure you with the promise of winning something, some chat, or invitation from a social media site; there are many ways that you can get into one of these. You can avoid them if you don’t go to some sites that have a bad reputation. You can update your computer and antivirus software to avoid any propagation of threats.
Through black hat techniques or SEO (Search Engine Optimization), hackers can locate their websites on the top of the web seeker by using these programs. You must avoid any type of poll on the web, giving personal information online can give hackers free access to your personal accounts. Download applications only from certificated websites and don’t get into risky ones, or ones that have bad reviews, despite everything we mention on this report.
The most important thing you can do is to be complex with your passwords, is the main point of this. It is very easy for a hacker to crack your password if you don’t follow any of this advice.
Here’s a short list of all we’ve been talking about to keep you safe:
Be deeply suspicious while you’re online! If you get an email from a company telling you to change your password, don’t click the link. Go directly to what you know is their legitimate website.
Never download attachments from sources you’re unfamiliar with, even if you’ve been convinced you’ve won $1000!
Use a VPN solution like Express VPN for all your online activity to increase your security and privacy, and make it harder for people to learn about you and what you do online – it could be used against you by a criminal or provide some extra clues for a phishing attack. You’ll find a list of recommended VPNs for Windows here and for Mac here.
Use antivirus software and keep it up to date – and yes that does apply to Mac users!
Never reveal anything to do with your online life to anyone who calls you on the phone. Microsoft will never phone you because they’ve discovered a problem on your computer.
If you are predictable or apply the simple and shortest password for all your accounts, you are going to get hacked. If you get into some sites that you know are risky, and you don’t put any effort to protect your information, you are going to get hacked. It is so easy for a skillful hacker to leave you without a thing. The cost of being lazy with your protection on the web can be really high.
