As usual, I went for a double patty cheese burger with extra cheese. This burger is the classic combination of double beef patties, American cheddar, ketchup, mustard and aioli (I much prefer pickles to aioli). The burger was very nice, but the patties didn't seem as good quality as the other places I visited recently. The burger was absolutely loaded with bacon too. I kept getting a sweet taste in my burger. I'm not sure if it was the aioli or a bit of maple bacon sneaking in there. The burger was structurally sound and it held up till the very end. This burger needs pickles and not aioli in my opinion. The fries were pretty boring and the milkshake was too sweet. These guys are busy, their takeaway service was ringing every 5 minutes, so I assume they are very popular in Melbourne. @hakatagensuke is said to be the best ramen in Melbourne. After a 40 minute queue, I managed to get a seat on the inside of this famous ramen house. It did not disappoint, the broth was rich, creamy and delicious. I do prefer a thicker tonkatsu, but this place is definitely a mist eat if you're in the city. Expect to wait though, this restaurant is very popular! Where do you think I can find a good ramen? A couple of nights ago I went to @shanghaistreetmelbourne and I really enjoyed the food. It was super busy, so I didn't want to get my camera out. I had a few dishes, but my favourite was probably these steamed egg buns. They were super fluffy and really sweet, but not overly sweet. Another solid effort from a Melbourne burger establishment! I always go for a double cheese burger with extra cheese, as it let's me judge things a little more fairly. I'm happy to say that @royalstacksau scored higher than I expected. I was anticipating something a bit gimmicky like another Melbourne burger vendor with a few stores in the city. The patties were juicy and delicious, and the burger was oozing with liquid cheese. The brioche was soft and easy to swallow, as in the past I've had brioche that wasn't easy to eat. The burger sauce was good and the salad was fresh, I stupidly forgot to put the mustard on though. The only thing I can say is that the patties could have had a little more seasoning. The fries were piping hot, golden, crispy and inside they were fluffy They were some of the best fries I've had recently. The portion was decent for the price too. The shake was a ripper, it was snickers flavoured and made with frozen custard. I'd also like to thank the staff who were very welcoming.
