Long Shadows Litter Tryouts

House Long Shadows has been within Tunnelclan for as long as Tunnelclan existed, and though its power has been on the decline for many years it is still impossible to ignore their influence. Though all they have is the honor on their shoulders and a long drawn history that has bored many kits to near death- Long Shadows shall always endure.

But the Head of House has always had different aspirations. Dreaming of making Long Shadows a name that invokes respect in and of itself- and not by its fading history. Such a thing is on the rise, with the daughter of the house being named Regent and a hopeful match with the Royal Line brewing. Now is the high time to bring more of their lineage into the world- and to show all that Long Shadows will never fade away.

Nightblood and his mate, Spicenose, have conceived a new litter of kits- their second and final one. And through a hard pregnancy, Spicenose will soon bring six new kittens into the world. But trouble is on the horizon- and some of these kits are slated to be deeply involved in an upcoming plot. 

Perhaps Tunnelclan was never meant to be their home in the first place.

Nightblood and Spicenose of House Long Shadows are expecting a litter of six healthy kittens! Of these six, Three will be open for adoption!

These three kits are open to both current and prospective members alike! Though beware they do come with a plot of their own! All relevant information (Including clan guides, house information, and links to family members) are also included in the document!

I like the idea of Moonpaw’s sister being given the name Eclipsekit. Thriftear and Bayshine never referred to her by name, so I can only assume that one was never given. The idea behind the name is that she feels like the sun being covered, or eclipsed, by the moon. She feels cheated by Moonpaw because she didn’t get to live the way she has thus far. My guess is that this is partially why she specifically targeted Sunkit to lure away from the nursery instead of one of his sisters.

Okay so I've read the elder's quest and I have a theory/prediction. Or an au I'll write afterwards, because they love to change stuff up at random intervals so predicting things after only one book usually doesn't go well lmao. Spoilers ahead so it's under the read more.

So I'm not convinced that Voicekit (that's what I'm calling her until we get a name. If there wasn't already a Sunkit I'd go with that. And I already have an oc named Eclipsekit.) is evil. I know Moonpaw is concerned about her being willing to put a kit in danger, and her ability to appear as Moonpaw is certainly ominous, but most of what she's done so far is like...the behavior of a kit who just doesn't know any better. I mean, if you put a toddler in a teenager's body they'd cause some problems for sure. She acts without understanding the consequences, is constantly distracted, wants to play, and gets pouty when she's ignored or scolded.

So my prediction/theory, if they go with this route and don't actually make her evil, is that the solution is to just...parent her. Like get her parents to talk to her through Moonpaw and give her a stern but loving talking to. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the later plot developments has to do with Voicekit being jealous of Moonpaw getting to live, and her parents have to convince her that they still love her and she should go live in Starclan.

"But what about Starclan's warning?" What about it? Starclan's warnings are always either really obvious or super vague, and I have a suspicion that the writing team doesn't always know how the prophecy/warning will play out when they write them. It would not surprise me at all if they decided that the twist is that the prophecy doesn't refer to Moonpaw at all, or that it does refer to her but for reasons other than Voicekit being an evil baby.

Part of the reason I think the solution being a parent's love is possible (at least at this point) is the focus on parent-child relationships in the other povs. The last arc also had this focus, kinda out of nowhere. I mean, parent-child relationships have never been a super strong focus in wc. They crop up occassionally, but aren't usually a priority beyond the surface level. But last arc we had a huge focus on them with all three pov cats, and this time is setting up for a similar theme.

We've got Moonpaw and her parents, Tawnypelt being a parent as well as a grandparent and Dovewing and Tigerstar's relationship with Birchfeather, and while it isn't as strong in Leafstar's chapters she does interact more with her son than we've seen in the past.

Now for pure speculation, based on nothing other than how the wc team has written in the past - I think the climax (of Moonpaw's arc) will be Voicekit taking over Moonpaw. Perhaps imposter style where Moonpaw is killed giving Voicekit an opening, maybe she just gets stronger as Moonpaw does, and maybe Moonpaw tries to make a deal with her for some peace. And then cats notice the change, figure out what happened, and their parents have to talk to Voicekit.

A Victim's Oath is a warrior cat inspired comic series created by laurierroses (yours truly!)! A Victim's Oath follows a collection of four clans that have established themselves overtime with the guidance of Starrynight, their beloved prophet and spiritual leader who created Starclan in order to protect the cats she had left behind on Earth. Guided into a clowder by Sundancer, crowds of cats learned of the importance of living with clowder-mates and, following the death of Starynight and their leader, they chose to seperate to create the four clans that exist today. Starclan's guidance is a cherished one among the four clans, but their ancestors don't seem quite as fond of them as they may have thought. With constant threats of extinction breathing down the back of their necks, these clan cats are struggling- to get a grasp on what's happening before its too late- as well as to survive. Tides of war and violent weather were something the cats of the four clans could've only ever dreamt about, but with the hastening deterioration of their faith, came further fractures in their society as a whole. Follow along with Hummingpaw, Locustpaw, Eclipsekit, and several more cats as they tough out this tricky scenario!

this took me like 500 years to answer and i'm so indecisive even in posting this, however... :) lists assembled! some of them are in order, some aren't, some have multiple cats filling one "slot" because they're usually family and "equal" in the sense of being a favorite. i'm also doing my best to limit dead characters unless they're recently deceased, but...some are too important to leave out.
