You hear a loud noise coming from downstairs, which makes you jump in fright and as soon as you pull yourself together, you run after what had caused it. As soon as you enter the kitchen, the image of Warren standing on the chair hugging a plate, avoiding Eddie for some unapparent reason.
“Get away from me!” Rojas protests, still protecting his plate from the bassist.
“Cami said it was one for each, give me my egg now!” He jumps to try to reach it, but he can't.
“What the fuck is going on here?” You say rubbing your eyes, trying to escape sleep.
“He lost the bet and now he doesn’t want to accept it” Warren says, adjusting the sleep shorts he was still wearing.
“Today of all days do you want to collect this bet? Seriously?” He rolls his eyes so hard you swear they could go through his skull.
You are intrigued by the statement, but decide to break up the fight before asking.
“Warren, can’t you bet on something other than food?” Tired, you say between a yawn.
“But I really like Cami’s special eggs.” He protests, almost like a sulking child.
“I’ll make a point of asking her for extra tomorrow, okay?” You help Roundtree who thanks you with a look.
Rojas jumps out of his chair, and you're shocked at how he can balance his food in one hand. He hands you the plate.
“Fine.” He sits on the chair he was previously standing on, and watches you, waiting. “But you cut it, to be fair! He always takes the biggest one.”
After calming down the drummer, he leaves towards the balcony to eat, leaving you and the bassist alone with just the sound of the wind between you. He cracks a smile, clearly happy to see you, to be with you.
“How was your night?” He says getting closer, you roll your eyes playfully, knowing that he was teasing you.
“Perfect, and you know it.” You say, getting closer to him, kissing his lips tenderly.
“Glad to know that…” He says, still close to you, which tempts you to kiss him again.
You sit together at the small table, watching each other and chatting idly. One of his hands caressed yours on the table, while the other held the spoon he used to eat his eggs.
“So what happens today?” You ask curiously, drawing inanimate things on his hand with your fingers.
“What do you mean?" He returns the question, in fact, lost.
“You told Warren ‘today of all days’” You mention what you remember from the phrase, observing the window.
“Oh that.” He seems to understand now, pausing to chew and then answer you. “Today a woman from the record company came to see us here at home, I think she's going to take care of our marketing... Something like that” He says shrugging.
“Do you mind that Cami and I are here?” You ask in a velvety voice.
“Of course not, pretty girl.” He says kissing your forehead, getting up to wash the dishes.
You go to him and wrap your arms around his waist, resting your head on his back, enjoying his presence and from time to time kissing his shoulder. When he finishes, he turns to face you, kissing you and holding your hands on your face, you feel his skin cold from the water.
“I need to go get ready” he says between kisses on your lips.
“I’ll see you when I’m free?” you ask, leaning your body against the doorframe.
“For sure.” He winks at you, turning to access the balcony when he shouts: “Hey Warren! Let's go.”
Eddie and the rest had been gathered in the living room in advance by Billy, everyone was talking waiting for the woman sent by the record company, you and Cami took advantage of the delay to spend more time with everyone. You sat on the arm of the couch, one of Roundtree's arms wrapping around your waist as the doorbell rang in every ear in the place.
“I’m on it!” Graham jumps up, heading to the door to receive the visitor. “Hey” He greets her.
“Hello Graham.” She says asking for permission to come in, he gives her space.
As the door swung open, Valentina entered with an air of authority. A strand of raven hair fell perfectly out of place, framing a face adorned with subtle yet commanding features. Behind her glasses, her piercing gaze assessed the room, exuding a sense of unwavering control. Every step resonated confidence, and her polished heels echoed a rhythm that seemed to march to the beat of her own rules. The clash between her poised elegance and the band's laid-back atmosphere hung palpably in the air as she crossed the threshold into their world.
She feels tension when she enters, but instead of feeling uncomfortable she feels powerful. You lightly squeeze Eddie's shoulder, saying silently that you would leave so as not to disturb the meeting, then you and Camila head to the kitchen.
“So Val, what have you got ready?” Billy asks, looking not so friendly.
“Don’t call me that, uh- I have some things to pass on to you.” She takes some papers out of the briefcase she had with her, causing curiosity.
Warren leaned over, getting in front of Graham so he could see what she was showing, repeating a push from the younger Dunne to get him to quiet down.
Little by little the small fight grows, and Eddie - who also shared a sofa with the two, pushes them both with the strength he had, little by little everything becomes alarmed. Karen rolls her eyes and sighs deeply, Billy tries to ignore it but the discomfort grows in him.
Valentina clears her throat irritably, in order to get their attention, "I don't have all the time in the world, gentlemen, and miss..." She says to Karen, as if saying that she doesn't understand why she was there at all. “Now, can we continue?”
Like children who had been scolded by their teacher (which was perhaps the situation) they fell silent, Graham looked down, Eddie tensed his body in silent protest and Warren shrank back.
Valentina unfolds her plans with an air of meticulous precision. Each document presented is accompanied by a concise explanation, her tone unwaveringly professional. The boys, seated on the sofa, exchange glances, picking up on the gravity of her intentions. The weight of her scrutiny makes them subtly shift in their seats, a collective unease settling in.
As she projects charts and graphs, she casts a discerning eye over the room. Her attention, like a laser, dissects not just the details on paper but also the nuances of their reactions. A sense of judgment, though unspoken, lingers in the air.
The atmosphere becomes almost oppressive, and the band members, despite their casual exterior, feel the weight of Valentina's expectations. Then, with a pause pregnant with implication, she breaks the silence, looking deeply in each one of their eyes.
“Another important topic.” She says gathering the papers. “I already know Billy has a daughter and a wife, but what about the rest of you? Do you have a relationship?”
Silence, as she seemed to already want a negative answer to that question. Karen and Graham look at each other, but no one notices.
“Uh, no.” Graham responds, looking at everyone. “I mean, Eddie?”
Roundtree exhales cigarette smoke, coughing a little as Warren looks at him with a smirk.
“Yeah, I have a girl actually…”
She clicks her tongue in disapproval, writing something down in her notebook. The bassist didn't understand anything, so he just raised his eyebrows, however, Rojas couldn't help but say "What?”
“It’s not good for your image, especially as a band on the rise.” She clarifies, as if it were obvious and they were idiots.
“Why?” Graham asks, his voice was so quiet that the woman had to adjust her glasses to see his lips better.
“Isn't it obvious? It breaks the connection with your fans, they want to be close to you, they want to delude themselves into thinking that they can be part of the band or date you.”
“I dont care?" Eddie is direct, and she seems to bubble with disrespect.
“Well, you better start caring.” she says, in an almost threatening tone. “If you want this, to get somewhere”
The silence is broken by the voice of the band's lead singer, he looks directly at Eddie. “She has a point Eddie.”
Eddie lets out an angry look, rolling his eyes tightly. “You've gotta be kidding me.”
“You have to think about the band...” Billy reinforces, and tension gradually sets in.
“Look who's talking.” He clearly rolls his eyes, filled with anger. “You're not going to break up with Camila, are you? So why do I have to do it?”
“He has a point Billy.” Warren comes to the bassist's defense. “I don't see how it affects us that much, I mean, everyone already knows from our songs that you're married. We're not hiding anything”
Valentina disapproves of Rojas' speech with a clear denial with her head. Billy doesn't respond, he was irritated at being contradicted.
"I'll discuss this with Teddy," she declares, her departure leaving Eddie seething. "I'll reach out when there's a decision. Think about what's at stake here, gentlemen."
As the door closes behind her, Eddie's frustration hangs in the air, the clash of personal convictions and professional expectations echoing in the room.
The bassist storms out the room without sharing any other look with the others, he heads to his room to find you peacefully drawing in your notebook, you look up at him to find his face tense until your eyes meet.
He comes to you almost as if begging for support, you welcome him into your embrace without questioning too much, you knew he didn't always experience good things in this band, especially with his devaluation.
“Wanna talk about it?” You mutter after a few seconds of silence.
“He's such an asshole, I'd punch him in the face now." He blurts out, and you already knew who he was talking about.
“What did he do this time?"
“The woman at the record company is an asshole, she basically said I needed to break up with you.” The information shocks you, you don't know how to react. “Of course, I protested. But that stupid Billy agreed with her. Of course he agreed, right? He's not affected, he's not the one who's going to break up with Camila.”
“Hey, breathe." You ask him, observing carefully you noticed that his knuckles were stiff with so much anger. “But what does our relationship have to do with the band?”
“The woman said that it breaks the connection with the fans, because they want to feel close with us and bla blá blá.” He says rolling his eyes, you frown.
“She wants you to be a single to deceive your fans?" Now, you adjust yourself on his lap.
He nods, and it's your turn to roll your eyes.
“There’s no way!" You protest, kissing him affectionately. You can feel him lose all his angry face under your touch. “You're mine, all mine... But not in a possessive way, dammit, that sounded like an asshole, right? I was trying to be cute. Nevermind”
He laughs, wrapping both of his arms around your waist to get you closer, he kisses you once again. Intensifying your kiss with a touch of need. You stroke the strands of his hair, and he smiles into the kiss.
“No matter how crazy this all drives me, as long as I have you... Everything will be fine.” He whispers against your lips, kissing you tenderly once again.
“I love you" you say, watching the bassist smile. "And fuck Billy and that woman, we're not breaking up anytime soon.”
Eddie Roundtree: And she was right, we didn't. *says showing his wedding ring*

the one — eddie roundtree
pairing: eddie roundtree x fem!musician!reader
description: after breaking your heart and losing your trust, eddie tries to win your heart back. through all the hurt, comes a lot of light.
warnings: written in interview style like the book! reader is a musician but she isn’t in the band, use of Y/N (</3). REQ’s are open!
🍸 ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ 🎙️ ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ 🪩 ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ 🎧
Eddie: I asked myself a lot of questions back then, but I could never actually answer any of them. It was like everything good had blown up in my face and it was all my fault. I didn’t really know what to do.
Karen: Chase two girls, lose the one. I always knew Eddie loved Y/N, but he also loved Camila. I told Eddie he had to go away and have a think about everything.
Warren: Whatever he felt for Camila, it was different with Y/N. Camila was his first love, sure, but Y/N is the love of his life.
Eddie took himself away from the band for a few days, he arranged it with the necessary people and put in place a ‘getaway plan’ as he recalls it. He stayed away for an extra week, hiding away in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. When he came back he had a new guitar, a green Fender Stratocaster, and a few unfinished love songs.
Warren: Why he took himself up to Oregon of all places I will never know. He would of been welcome to hand on my boat but the man had shit to sort through I suppose.
Karen: Whatever he did those few days he was gone worked wonders.
Eddie: The second I got back I picked Karen up and swung her around. I couldn’t thank her enough.
Y/N: I wouldn’t be a second choice, I left because that’s what it felt like with him, that I was always going to be second choice.
Eddie: I always thought I knew best but I really didn’t. I knew Billy wouldn’t like the songs I had written, because it was always what him and Daisy had written that mattered. I think Karen was nervous when I told her I’d been writing.
Karen: I thought he had gone mad. [Laughs]
Billy: I would have heard him out at least, but… no I probably would have hated whatever he had come up with. I was a control freak like that. We [Him and Daisy] both were.
Eddie: I didn’t care what Billy thought of them. I hadn’t written them for Billy, I wrote them for me, but also for Y/N.
Y/N: [Laughs] They were… well they were okay! He poured his whole heart into them, so they were special but Eddie Roundtree is not a songwriter!
Eddie: She said that? [Laughs] Well… she’s right! I suppose I just wanted to tell her how I really felt. Once I had shown her what I’d come up with she sat down next to me and just started scribbling all over it.
Y/N: I wanted to finish one of the songs.
Eddie: She had picked one out, ‘The 1’. It was about what you wish you had, what you could of had if you hadn’t messed everything up.
Y/N: I kind of wanted to make him sweat a bit.
Eddie: I was so nervous, I just kept thinking say something, say anything!!
Y/N: We stayed up late laughing, drinking, writing. We talked about Eddie’s time in Oregon. I told him what I had gotten up to.
Eddie: Then she told me she had missed me.
Y/N: I was so worried to let him back in.
Eddie: I was so glad she let me in. So glad.
Eddie Roundtree sold the song to an up and coming band. Y/N and Eddie were credited as the songwriters for the record. Upon release it climbed the charts to number 32. The pair celebrated with the band they had sold the record to by buying them lunch one afternoon in California.
Eddie: She made me work for it.
Y/N: Like I said, I wanted to see him sweat.
Eddie: I didn’t mind though. Life was very fast, very unpredictable back then. I got to slow down with her, just making sure she was okay, checking in, having meals together, falling asleep next to each other, it was all… it felt like a sure thing. I felt very lucky, and the most alive I think. Yeah.
Y/N: He had asked me a couple times, can we make this official? I told him to wait it out. I think I wanted to know that he would stick it out, that he would wait for me for once. A lot of our relationship at the start felt like me waiting around for him. It wasn’t a payback thing necessarily, more just, I don’t know. I was protecting my heart.
Eddie: I felt very… unsure. I didn’t know if I was worth it to her. I think she saw that in me, that I didn’t really value myself. She turned that around.
Y/N: One night before a show, I turned up and he was so shocked to see me. I remember his face just lighting up, I knew then. I knew with everything in me, I wanted him and he wanted me.
Eddie: I had pined and grovelled for months and right before I am about to step on stage to a sold out show, she kisses me. I couldn’t believe it. I actually couldn’t believe her! I swear she just liked to see me sweat.
Y/N: I didn’t mean to! At the time I had gone to just see the band. Well, I was going to see Eddie too but I didn’t intend on kissing him! I’m glad I did though.

Someone’s Jealous…Warren Rojas x Reader
summary: jealousy gets the best of warren when you decide to talk to a guy at a party. luckily eddie is there to get warren to confess
notes: i am a slut for love confessions. that’s it.
Tumblr media
camila and billy’s house filled with excitement as more and more people came through the door. the party was supposed to be the band and a couple people from the recording studio. obviously word got around that there was going to be a party at the bands house.
you were sat on the couch with a drink in your hand, sandwiched in between eddie and warren. you were having a nice night. especially since a cute guy kept smiling at you from across the room. warren caught sight of the blush on your cheeks. he followed your gaze and saw the guy that was looking at you. a wave of jealousy washed over him.
the drummer secretly had a crush on you since high school. what he didn’t know is that you did too.
with the drugs and alcohol running through his body, warren felt like he wanted to punch the guy.
“oh c’mon y/n! you could do way better than that guy over there!” warren protested. you looked at the mystery man who was wearing black bel bottoms and a shirt that was probably a size too small for him, which made his happy trail visible.
“whaaaat no he’s cute!!!” you argued.
“y/n. this dude looks like he shops at baby gap.”
“yea his shirt is wayy too small for him.” eddie chimed in.
“see! eddie agrees with me!” warren said.
“eddie agrees with everything you say warren. you two are mean, i’m gonna go talk to him.” you say as you get up from the couch.
“see what i mean! dude doesn’t even have the balls to approach you first! no chivalry! none at all!” warren shouts as you began walking away from him and eddie.
“welp at least you tried man.” eddie says as he takes a drink from his beer.
warren and eddie watch closely you as you go up to tiny shirt man. warren couldn’t help but think about how gorgeous you looked. it upset him that you went to go talk to another guy.
“i don’t know why you don’t just ask her out! i mean she’s so obviously in love with you.” eddie said.
“if she’s so in love with me, why is she talking to another guy right now?”
“because you don’t have the balls to confess your feelings for her!!!” eddie argued. he was tired of seeing his two best friends dance around eachother, and he was getting sick of having to comfort a heartbroken warren every time he had a bad trip.
“i have balls!” warren says loudly. earning a couple of concerning looks from the people around him.
“fine then. prove it.” eddie eggs warren on.
“damn right i’ll prove it!” warren says, still sitting on the couch.
“do it then. right. now.” warrens eyes get larger. he wasn’t planning on confessing his love to you at a crowded party!
“right now…?” warren said nervously.
“i mean… you don’t have to, but if you don’t i guess that means you have no balls.” eddie said, taking another sip from his beer.
“fine then! i’ll be back.” warren downed the last of his drink and promptly got up and made his way over to you and tiny shirt guy. “i’m sorry to interrupt your guys conversation. i’m sure whatever you were saying man was totally interesting, but y/n will be leaving you now.”
and just like that, your conversation with mystery man (whose name you learned was actually nick) was over. warren put his hand on your lower back and guided you through the extremely crowded house.
you couldn’t even be upset with warren because of how good he looked tonight. walking through the house, all you could pay attention to was the feeling of warrens fingers grazing your skin.
“warren what the hell was that?” you asked. he didn’t answer back.
a minute later, you two were standing in the backyard. there was still a lot of people around, but not as much as inside. you two were able to hear each other without having to shout. warren stared at you, he looked like he had something to say, but was scared to say it.
“warren what’s wrong?” you said sincerely. warren was not acting like himself.
“listen, i couldn’t stand seeing you talk to that guy over there.”
“warren, he was nice! his personality didn’t match his style at all! i promise.” you tried to reassure your friend.
“no. it’s not just him. i hate seeing you flirt any guy! i’m about to tell you something extremely serious okay?” warren said as he put his hands on your shoulders.
“i really like you y/n. i really really do. since high school! that’s why i get in a crappy mood whenever we’re at parties like this. you’re a magnet to men! especially me! and i literally cannot take another night seeing desperate men try to flirt with you, because they’re not good enough for you! and i’m pretty drunk right now, and i probably sound so stupid but-”
“warren!” you interrupted his rambling. “you’re jealous aren’t you?!” you laughed.
“maybe a little.” warren shrugged.
“you’re cute when your jealous.” you smiled at him.
suddenly you felt warren pull you against him. warrens lips met yours in a kiss that you’ve been waiting on for what felt like eternity. his hands rested on your cheeks as he pulled apart from the kiss.
“wait… so you do have feelings for me? right?” warren asked.
“yes warren. obviously.”
***
“oh my god i can’t believe it.” eddie said to graham and karen, who joined him on the couch soon after warren left.
the pair turned their heads to where eddie was looking. it was you and warren walking through the crowded house together, his arm around your shoulder, and your head was turned giving him a kiss on his cheek.
“jesus christ finally,” karen said. “i thought we would have to live with their awkward sexual tension for the rest of our lives.” warren sat on the chair next to the couch, and you joined him on his lap.
“you know eddie, i think you’re the one with no balls.”

Mrs. Dunne (Billy dunne x reader.)
Tumblr media
Requested by anon~
Warnings: profanities, cliches, kinda non Canon Billy, mentions of knifes and injuries.
A/N: I was gonna name this video games bc my last fic was a Billy dunne x reader fic and it was called dark paradise which is another lana song but I justed started writing and "Mrs. Dunne." Came out a lot. And would anybody wanna be added to tag list? Also request wlw fics bc there's only men in my inbox and it's pissing me off.
Only the sounds of Billy strumming his acoustic guitar and you frustratingly trying to rip open this very well taped cardboard box of which was labeled "Billy's clothes" which probably consisted of jean everything.
"Yo Dunne! Maybe for once in your life get off your ass, stop playing that guitar and fucking help me with this box that you finally probably tapped!" He eruptedly stop strumming his guitar as you started yelling profanities at him.
A loud "mother fucker" could be heard from your small apartment as you accidentally cut your hand with the knife you were using to try and open that stupid box with.
"Hey, hey" Billy said, concerned as he made his way over to you. "Hey, lemme see that."
"I'm sorry." You said trying to wipe away your tears with your uncut hand.
"Sorry? Why are you sorry? You have nothing to be sorry about." Your boyfriend said with that beautiful Billy-like smile.
"I know, I know it's just I've been acting like a bitch towards unpacking and you and I've been way too fucking stressed with moving and packing and unpacking that I haven't gave anytime to us- oh and look now I fucking cut my hand!" You winced at the pain of you swinging your arm too hard.
"Okay baby calm down, we don't want you any more hurt." Billy chuckled at your fanatics.
"Oh you think this is funny Billy?!"
"Yeah I kinda do." Billy said, starting to laugh a little bit too hard.
"Oh yeah? You think it's funny I got hurt working on this home while you sat on your ass with your fucking guitar! You said sarcastically, gesturing to Billy's guitar.
"Okay little lady sit down while I take care of these boxes." You hummed an okay as you went to go sit down on the only chair Billy thought of unpacking, shorty after that because you were so stressed and tired you ended up drifting off to sleep.
As you slowly opened your as from the sounds of metal clanging together and the sound of you and Billy's "the doors" vinyl playing.
"Oh good morning sleeping beauty." Billy said sarcastically because it was indeed 8 pm. "Feeling better?"
"Yeah much." As you walked towards Billy you saw him pressed up against the stove.
"What are you making?" You said as you notice the freshly clean kitchen free of the boxes.
"Pasta. And wine." Billy chuckled as he handed you a glass of the alcohol.
"Hmmm thank you." You said giving the man a kiss on the cheek. "I see you cleaned." You said gesturing to the clean floor.
"Yep, just for you baby." You hummed in agreement giving him another kiss this time on the lips.
"Hm taste this." Billy said putting the fork in front of your mouth so you could see If the pasta is ready to eat.
"Hmm good." You hummed with a mouth full of pasta giving your boyfriend a thumbs up.
Billy dished up the pasta in 2 separate bowls, you grabbed one of the bowls and grabbed your glass of white wine that you sat down on the kitchen counter and made your way to your brand new living room to sit next to you and Billy's books and his guitar.
You sat down on the floor and grabbed your wine and put the glass to your mouth to take a sip as you felt something cold in your lips. As you took the thing out of your mouth to see a small diamond ring make your mouth fall open.
"Dunne?" Billy hummed back at you still not taking his eyes off the pasta. "What is this?" You said holding the Diamond up in the air.
"Hm? Ohhhh. Come here you're so far away I don't think I can't see it very well." Your boyfriend said very flirty.
You made your way towards him, as you step right in front of him he wrapped his arm around your waist and took the ring out of your hand and put it on your finger.
"Oh yeah that I think it's for you."
"What?" You said stunned.
"Will you be my Mrs. Dunne?" He said softly.
"Omg." You said bringing your hands to his face. "You can't be serious."
"Oh I'm serious Mrs. Dunne?" He said as a question, seeing if you were going to say yes.
"OH MY GOD!"
"IS THAT YES?" Billy said, yelling just as loud as you were.
"of course it's a yes you stupid stupid man!" You said slapping his chest grabbing his face again giving him a very needed well passionate kiss.
He pushed you on top of the counter still making out with you.
You pulled away from the kiss to look at your beautiful ring.
"Y/n Dunne that has a nice ring to it." You said looking your now husband directly in the eyes.

Getting drunk wasn’t something you weren’t used to. Since The Six had risen to fame, parties were a common occurrence for you and the band. There was a lively buzz coming from the crowd, and the alcohol in your system made you feel fuzzy on the inside. You were sitting next to Camilla on the couch, talking quietly to yourselves as the party continued. Occasionally, your eyes would meet with Graham’s, and he offered you a small smile.
“Who are you looking at?” Camilla nudged your side teasingly.
That was the only thing you hated about these parties. Graham. Your boyfriend. The tow of you had agreed to keep your relationship on the down low, especially with the band’s newfound fame. The last thing you needed was for the whole world to know about your relationship. Unfortunately, the whole world meant everyone, including your bandmates. It’s not that you didn’t trust them. You did, for the most part, but someone could easily slip up.
“Nothin’,” you shrugged, directing your attention back on Camilla, “Tryna see if I could spot anyone slightly interesting.” “No one’s caught you’re attention yet?” she hums, “You’ve looked over that way a few times now.”
You inwardly curse at yourself for thinking Camilla wouldn’t notice your longing stares. She notices everything.
“No, there’s never really anyone interesting at these parties anyway.” You say, grabbing your beer and taking a long sip of it. You screw up your nose a little, the strong taste hitting the back of your throat.
Camilla nods her head, seemingly satisfied by that response.
»↠ ≈☆≈ ↞«
Slowly, the party began to die down. The people left, and the house was now a complete mess, solo cups and bottles everywhere, leaving the floor quite sticky, and a prominent smell of alcohol lingered in the house. Even though the house was in desperate need of cleaning, you and the band sat on the couches, talking about everything and anything. The alcohol you drunk no longer had you feeling bubbly and talkative, instead you now felt sleepy.
The need for sleep was getting to your head, and fast. You turn to the side, resting your head on Graham’s shoulder, allowing for your eyes to flutter shut.
“Is my shoulder not good enough to be leant on?” Warren feigns shock from the other side of you. You opened your eyes, noticing him and the others actively staring at you.
“No, I think I prefer my boyfriend, but thanks for the offer.” You say, smiling sweetly, before leaning back on Graham’s shoulder with your eyes closed.
“Your what?” Warren yells, his eyes flicking between you and Graham.
Graham’s face is bright red, but you seem to out of it to realise what you actually said.
“Shh, Warren, ‘m tired.” You groan instead, leaning in further to Graham’s touch.
“I think it’s time for you to go to bed.” he whispers into your hair, also using it to partly hide his face.
You grumble slightly, but don’t necessarily disagree, so Graham gently says goodnight to the other band members, leading you back into your room. He places you down on the bed with ease, and he lifts up your legs to drape the blanket over you, knowing how much you hate waking up cold.
He flicks the lightswitch off, looking back at you and watching the way your chest rises and falls with each even breath you take. He smiles to himself, before shutting the door softly.
“Wanna tell us what that was about, Graham?” Eddie grins, and Graham felt his face flush.
“Well, I mean, Y/N, kinda said it all.” Graham says, rubbing the back of his neck.
“And you didn’t think to tell us?” Billy asks, and Graham shook his head.
“It’s not like that… it’s just… y’know, Y/N was worried. Rumours, all that shit. We didn’t really need anything going out to the public just yet. A-And it’s not that we don’t trust you guys! We do, but we were just getting big when we first got together, and we didn’t want someone to accidentally… slip up or anything.” Graham replies, trying to keep it together.
“I get it, don’t worry. And hey, for what it’s worth, you guys are really cute together. You got good, Graham.” Billy grins at him, and Graham smiles back.

When you wake up the next morning, you aren’t shocked to find yourself still in your clothes from last night, makeup smudged everywhere, and a pounding headache. You get up slowly, taking a sip of the water left on your bedside table, undoubtedly from Graham. Holding your head, you change into some more comfortable clothes, an oversized shirt and a pair of leggings. Begrudgingly, you make your way out to the kitchen, hoping to find some paracetamol to stop the pain in your head.
“Well, good morning to you, too.” Graham grins. He’s sitting at the table with Eddie and Warren, eating a piece of toast.
“Morning,” You grumble back, searching through the cupboards for a tablet.
“Here, let me help you, love,” Graham says, getting up to help you search.
Hearing the name he just called you, you spun around fast, looking at him with wide eyes. “What?” you half-laugh, half stare blankly at him.
“You don’t remember?” Graham laughs, squeezing your side and planting a kiss on the top of your head.
Your eyebrows furrow in confusion. “No…” you whisper.
He leans down, whispering the events of last night in your ear.
“I said what?!”

soul of a woman was created below - w.r.
pairing: Warren Rojas x Fem!Reader
Summary: You're strong, seductive and intimidating and Warren finds that very, very, hot.
word count: 2.4k
Tags/Warnings: She/Her pronouns, use of Y/N, oc's (reader's bandmates), reader being an absolute badass tease, bassist reader, there is a mention of Eddie and Warren being -not- discreet and checking the reader out, spice no smut, Karen and Eddie teasing Warren, smoking, drinking, reader feels like a good lana del rey song but looks like a hot 'I am the woman' Led Zeppelin song (hence the tittle), a lot of swearing, deeply inspired by a you can be the boss lyric, mention of reader's outfit. I think that's about it
Tumblr media
Warren Rojas (Drummer, The Six):
That woman. [sighs] They say women 'play' hard to get, she didn't play anything. Can't do a lot when you can't manage to get a word out when you see her. [chuckles]
Eddie Roundtree (Bassist, The Six):
Of course I remember her, I heard so much about her in the time span of 2 months I think she still haunts my dreams sometimes. Warren was head over heels for sure, I think he still is. [grins] I was the reason they got together in the first place.

KINGS OF DUST, the next big rock 'n' roll stars?
Her fingers brushed over the fresh ink of the tabloid, as she grimaced. She felt her her ears buzz listening to James mocking the paper's columnist with a shrieking voice.
"Are those newcomers, with the big attitude and a whole lot of talent to give, going to kick The Six off their throne? Does the good old McNasties band we all know and love feel threatened? Well Billy Dunne sure doesn't as he claims that he 'isn't scared of glam posers and cheap Zeppelin copies' and the sarcastic remarks reffering to him on James Madden's Rolling Stone interview did not help his rage at all. What bullshit! Little Mr. Lover Boy thinks he can just insult us like that just because his mellow, mediocre songs, that all sound the fucking same, hit some of the charts!"
"They aren't even anything special! Their name isn't original it's like the sex or something, very shallow, and they definitely are the posers of the situation, they do it for the fame and the chicks, we do it for the music!" James whined, dragging the 'u' in 'music' and throwing the paper on the couch.
"The Six" Y/N corrected her friend and drummer. She walked over to the leather jacket she wore in last night's gig, reaching in it's pocket for her cigarettes. "And they're pretty good, well their lead is an ass, for sure, but still pretty damn good." She added, lighting one of her cigarettes with her heavy, carved, zippo.
"Whatever! I don't like them!" The drummer exclaimed like a child.
"What's with the yelling? It's 9 a.m., you fuckers." Matt came in the kitchen, his words slurred as he was still hang over from last night's events.
He grabbed a handfull of cereal and stuffed his mouth, munching noisily on it while motioning to James so he can give him the paper. "What does he mean posers, he is the poser! That motherfucker!" He yelled gulping down his cereal.
"Who does he think he is? I mean just because he's got a couple of good singles he thinks he can screw our reputation up because he is scared!?" He now screamed full of fury. "Apparently so." Y/N answers his rhetorical question, with a sarcastic smile. "Where is Dave?" he asked, she shrugged, frowning. "Oh so you can't answer that one!" He runs off to the guitarist's room and James looks at the bassist with a look that screams 'I told you so'. Y/N rolls her eyes and she can hear the tempered singer bang on Dave's door.
They come back to the kitchen together, Dave picks up a mug and fills it up with some coffee as he sits down, scratches and marks visible around his neck and back. "What?" he asks, his tone revealing his annoyance. "That." James is quick to say pushing the newspaper towards him. "Who the fuck is 'Billy Dunne'? What do you want me to do?" He exclaims with his grainy morning voice. "Y/N are not saying anything about this shit?" He turns to the girl, hoping she would help with his friend's delusions. "Sorry." She said not really feeling bad that she couldn't do anything.
"Look man. We got a gig tonight and all of us in here, except for Muffin who's got weirdly a lot of energy for 9 a.m., have a hangover so just tell me what the fuck do you want me to do?"
Muffin was what they called James, he was the youngest of the four, the softest of the four and the only one that, as you can understand, was really energetic. He also seemed like he never stopped smiling. So, Muffin.
"You know what? fuck it. I don't want you to do anything I just thought you guys would care about the dignity of our band!" Matt stormed in his room, his door made a loud bang as he kicked it closed.
***
They were just finished with the gig, the guys were partying inside the dirty bar as Y/N was outside, trying to smoke. She reached in her pocket, searching for her zippo. She exclaimed a curse, disappointed. She thought she must have forgotten it at the kitchen counter this morning. Her eyes scanned around the street for someone who she could ask for a lighter from. Her gaze paused, falling on a curly haired man not too far away from her, smoking.
"Y' think you got a light for me?" She asked looking at him, smirking. "Oh, yeah sure." The man reached for his lighter, it wasn't as perfect as her good old zippo but it would do. He leaned in to the cigarette in her mouth and covered the flame with his palm. She was looking at him straight in the eye, smiling throughout the whole process. She could feel him leaving a shaky breath as he moved away from her. "Thanks pretty boy..." She took the cigarette out of her mouth, allowing the smoke to be visible through her mouth and nose. "Anything for a pretty girl..." He complimented her back. She turned her back to him, walking back in the bar and winking at him over her shoulder. He shook his head with a chuckle "Oh c'mon man..." he said quietly, putting off his own ciggarete. He also ran back inside the bar.
***
"I'm telling you man, out of this fucking world! She's got those huge sudective eyes and she knows how to bat her eyelashes just the way to scratch my brain in all the right places for sure, because if she asked me to jump off a cliff, I'd do it. And I mean, I didn't wanna make it sexual but dude if she screams sex-appeal.
I wanna see her smirk like that on top of me the next time I see her."
Warren describes the woman to Eddie who thinks his friend is just overreacting. "Alright then where is she?" He asks the drummer. "Huh?" He says, distracted looking for her around the bar. "Where is she? You said she came back in here."
Warren grabbed Eddie's arm, when he finally spotted her, extending his pointer finger and lining it towards the young woman's position. "There..." Warren whispers, thrilled to see her dreamy face again. His eyes fall to her attire, which wasn't visible before, as it was hidden behind her large leather jacket. Her denim butterfly top, tied around her neck and revealed her bare back. Her low waist bell-bottom jeans were wide towards her knees and tighter higher, towards her waist, giving Warren a great view of her thighs and the red stars on the back of her pants.
"Boys!" Two fingers snapped right in front of their faces. Eddie woke up from his haze to see Karen, her arms crossed like a disappointed mother. "Would you like a tissue?" The woman asked the only person who had his interest on her as Warren was still concentrating on the beautiful mystery woman before him with his mouth agape.
"What?" Eddie asked Karen. His eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. "To wipe the drool of your faces...f' God's sake." She sighed leaving the two men alone again.
Eddie hit Warren in the back of his head. "C'mon wake up." he said. "Huh? I'm awake." Warren moaned, scratching the back of his head in pain. "No. No. You were basically sleeping with your eyes open."
"She hypnotized you. She is a witch." he says, with so much confidence, one would expect he doesn't hear his own words. "What? No she's not you idiot." Warren disagrees as he laughs at his friend's assumption.
***
"Matt, Y/N! Darlings! Come with me! I've got someone for you to meet."
Their friend Steve said dragging them to the booth where the one and only Billy Dunne sitted with his brother and his keyboardist.
Y/N wasn't very happy about the whole situation. She had two irritable singers that had a problem with each other on the same table. The guitarist and the keyboardist whose names she learned were Karen and Graham had snuck off to do god knows what and she was left bored out of her mind while Billy and Matt talked business.
Until sooner or later she saw her saviour on a white horse, he was gonna save her of absolute, boredom. He was with this other guy too, but that's besides point. The curly haired man from earlier. He was approaching the table. It was her chance to have some fun, all she did all night was hold Matt down so he wouldn't kill Billy.
Tumblr media
Y/N Y/L/N-Rojas (Bassist, 'Kings of Dust'):
I'm glad he made a move that day. It was a fun night... [laughs]
Warren:
Yeah, right. [scoffs]
If it weren't for Eddie I'd still be in the bathroom of that bar having a full on panic attack.
But she doesn't need to know that.
Y/N Y/L/N-Rojas:
Of course I knew...but I had fun with it. You don't have such man on his knees for you, holding his broken ego, every day. Well I did but you get what I mean.
Tumblr media
And she just seated there. Her legs crossed, looking like a good action movie soundtrack. She made him go crazy and she knew it. She was enjoying it.
Eddie took the spot next to Matt on the booth before Warren could, leaving him sit on the other end, next to her. She let the smoke of her cigarette out, looking over at him with a smirk.
"Hey, lighter buddy." She said slowly, a smile growing on her face, he was staring at the way her lips moved softly the whole time, thinking how rough they could be on his, imagining the colour of her lipstick all over him.
"Hey...I see, you found a lighter though." He says, nervous, you'd think someone was pulling the words out of his throat forcefully. "Yeah.." She smiled.
"I was stupid, really, it was just on the table I was sitting before."
With four people on the small couch booth they were really physically close and that killed Warren. Smelling the smoke and liqour on her, he thought he'd die any second now. Somebody had to pinch him before he could get used to this dream.
Her heel stroked his leg under his wide pair of jeans and she really thought she heard him gulp. She suddenly got right off of him. Leaving him confused when she reached for her cigarettes on the table. "I think I'll get out of here." She said now grabbing a cigarette out of the mat, black, leather cigarette case. She extended it over to him and looked at him."I have cigs, thank you." he said looking between her and the item in her hand. She bends over to him. "Well you don't have this one. Do what you want with it, your choice." He could feel her breath on his neck as she spoke while she carefully placed the slim filter on his lips.
They where lightly parted as he admired her. She tapped on his cheek twice with the palm of her hand then grabbed her jacket and left as soon as the conversation between the two singers got heated.
Warren looked up, the cigarette still in his mouth as he whispered "Fuck." He took it in his hands, coming out of the daze she put him in, there was a number of it. He looked at the number on the white paper of the Malboro. He shook his head, putting the cig back on his lips and leaving the bar. He had to go home and call her.
Eddie watched him as he speeded out the door and chuckled.
Tumblr media
Eddie: Especially after the band, Warren was a ladies man. Always flirty, always witty, so much you'd think it was just his regular attitude. He was never nervous around women before so it was really amusing getting to see the situation.
Tumblr media
Warren sat on the balcony of the band's house in Canyon, rolling the cigarette around his hands, fidgeting.
Eventually he got inside the house getting the phone and balancing the receiver between his head and shoulder while he pressed the number in.
The buzzing sound of the phone filled his ears as he lighted the cigarette and took a puff of it. "Hello?" he heard her voice ring through the telephone. His eyes widened, not expecting her to pick up. He took the cigarette out his mouth as soon as he heard her.
"Uh, Hey! Hi. I'm Warren." He said squeezing his eyes shut once he realized she doesn't know his name because he never told her. "Oh, Warren. From the bar right? Dunne's drummer." She said and giggled.
He was shocked she knew his name. She managed to learn everything about him in a single night and they hardly even talked. "Yup, thats me. Uh, you gave me your number. So I just thought I'd-" He was interrupted by the woman. "You thought right...So, got any other plans for tonight?" She asked and he believed she was joking. She had to be. He thought. There is no way she fell for his stuttering and his anxious antics. "I... never got the chance to catch your name." He breathed out, waiting to hear it.
"Y/N. I play bass for Kings Of Dust."
***
Her outfit hadn't changed since the last time he saw her.
Her eyeliner smudged under her eyes and her vibrant lipstick was now slightly faded. It was admirable, how you could never catch her looking down, she'd walk in a place she hadn't ever been before like she owned it, her chin always high and she always looked around, not in amusement, more like she was taking the place in.
She saluted him and sitted in the barstool next to his.
The bar was quiet in comparison to the one they were before with all their friends.
His mind wandered having all the thoughts it shouldn't.
Billy would probably kill him but it's worth it.

Any feedback, is good feedback!! I wanna read your thoughts. Have a gorgeous day. Mwah!

Right Person, Right Time
Eddie Roundtree x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 2.1k
Summary: Y/N is friends with The Six, but she is a little closer to a certain bassist in particular. She can always sense that something is wrong. When Eddie has a conversation with Camila, Y/N is there to reassure him that she is always there for him and it puts things into perspective for him.

Eddie: There’s a lot to say about Y/N.
Karen: We all met Y/N around the time we started our first tour. She was just starting out as an actress.
Warren: Y/N? Y/N was great,man! When she wasn’t on set she would join us at the studio. I tried teaching her drums once.
Eddie: She was…the best person I’ve ever known.
Y/N L/N stepped through the threshold of the house she knew and loved so much. Everyone was expecting her so she dumped her bag near the bottom of the stairs and walked through the house. It was eerily silent. Typically she heard shouting and arguing or the sound of instruments.
“Hello? Guys?” Y/N called throughout the house.
Y/N turned a corner and was surprised with the sound of yelling and streamers being thrown in her face.
“Oh my god!” She exclaimed.
Eddie, Karen, Warren and Graham stood there with smiles on their faces. Y/N smiled at them and raced over to hug them. Warren pulled her into a hug first and held onto her tight, next was Graham, who’s hug was short and sweet before he took his place next to Karen. Next was Karen.
“I can’t believe you left me alone with these boys!” Karen spoke and she hugged Y/N.
“Next time come with me, escape the testosterone for a bit.” Y/N joked with her.
The final person to give her a hug was Eddie. He stepped up to her and gave her a tight hug. His arms  wrapped around her waist as he lifted her up from her feet and spun her around.
“Eddie! Put me down!” Y/N exclaimed as she gripped onto him.
Eddie smiled and placed her back down on her feet. Y/N smiled at Eddie and he slowly released her and stepped back.
“How have all of you been? It’s been months.” Y/N questioned.
Warren steps closer to her and slings his arm over her shoulder leading her through the house, “You’re the one who’s just home back from a big movie set, tell us about it.”
“It was great! It was a lot more tiring than I thought it would be though.” Y/N responded.
“Just think about it, Y/N L/N, Oscar winning actress!” Warren said as they sat on the couch.
“That’s a goal for later in life.” Y/N laughed.
Eddie sat down next to her and Y/N unconsciously leant into him.
“But if you do go to the Oscars, I’ll be your plus one right?” Warren questioned, taking a sip from his drink.
“Hey, why do you get to be her plus one? I’m the one who invites her to all the rehearsals.” Karen cut in.
“She met me first!” Graham exclaimed.
As the three began arguing, Y/N sat back and watched, an amused smile gracing her face. Eddie looked down at her.
“You’d bring me, right?” He asked, bending down to whisper the question into her ear.
“No doubt about that.” Y/N resplied, turning to face Eddie.
Eddie smiled and reached to take a sip of his drink while the three continued to argue.
Eddie: That same year I was at the Oscars watching Y/N make her speech for best supporting actress. I was so proud of her.
Warren: I still can’t believe Y/N didn’t take me.
Eddie: It wasn’t long after Y/N won an Oscar before we were on tour. I asked her to come with us. Having Y/N around always made me feel better. But she was going to work on another film.
“Call me when you get the chance. I want to hear all about the excruciating bus journey.” Y/N says as she hugs Karen.
Y/N hugs the rest of the band members one by one until she gets to Eddie. She reaches up and locks her arms around his neck, giving him a tight hug. Eddie reciprocated the hug and held her tightly.
“I’ll miss you.” Y/N mumbles into his shoulder.
“I’ll miss you too.”
“You’ll be fucking amazing.” Y/N says and she pulls away.
With one last wave at the band, Y/N steps over to allow Camila to say goodbye to everyone. Camila bids goodbye to everyone, however once she gets to Eddie she simply gives him a smile before walking over to Y/N. Y/N furrows her eyebrows for a moment, thinking the interaction was strange but the thought quickly leaves her mind as the buses pull away.
Eddie: She could almost always tell what I was feeling. That’s why she surprised us on the tour I think.
When Y/N walked through the doors to the party, all eyes turned to look at her, including the eyes of the people she had come to surprise.
“Y/N?” Warren exclaimed and rushed forward to greet her, “What are you doing here?”
“I have a few days where I’m not wanted on set so I’ve come to surprise everyone.” Y/N shouted over the music.
“This is a great surprise!” Karen said while passing Y/N a drink which she accepted gratefully.
Y/N slumped down on the couch and fell into conversation with her friends. Despite having close friends outside of this group, she never felt at ease as she did when she was surrounded by them. Falling into conversation was easy and didn’t ever stop until the early hours of the morning.
Y/N hadn’t even finished her drink before another one was thrust in her hand. She quickly finished off her first drink before starting on her new one.
“Where’s Eddie?” Y/N questioned upon noticing that she hadn’t seen him yet.
“Not sure,” Warren replied, “He wandered off a while ago.”
Y/N looked around the party, “I’m going to look for him.”
Y/N got up and looked around the room in search of Eddie. Many people dragged her into conversation as she looked around and she had to find the most polite excuse to end the conversation before she got sucked into it.
Looking around the room once more, she found Camila quickly walking away from the balcony doors.
“Hey Camila!” Y/N says, weaving her way through people, “Have you seen Eddie anywhere?”
“Um,” Camila says, looking around, never making eye contact with Y/N, “No, I haven’t, sorry Y/N.”
Y/N eyes her suspiciously before nodding, “Okay, if you find him, let him know I was looking for him alright?”
Camila smiled at her, “Will do. See you later Y/N.”
Y/N smiled at Camila before the woman left her. Y/N’s eyes drifted up to the balcony doors which were firmly closed. Before she even knew it, Y/N’s feet were taking her over to them. Y/N pulled the doors open and stepped out onto the balcony and into the cool night air.
“Y/N?”
Y/N looked to the source of the voice and smiled at the sight of the person she had been looking for.
“Eddie.” Y/N says, flinging her arms around him, careful not to spill her drink.
“What are you doing here?” Eddie asked.
“I have a few days off from shooting so I came to surprise everyone.” Y/N responded, pulling away from the hug to take a swig from her drink, “I was sitting with everyone before I realised you weren’t there so I came looking for you and- are you okay?”
Y/N cut herself off to ask Eddie that question. His smile didn’t quite reach his eyes and he looked like he was trying his best to hold back tears.
“I’m fine.” Eddie lies.
Y/N’s eyes softened, she reached up to Eddie’s face and wiped away the single tear that slipped down his cheek, “Eddie, I’ve known you for years, I can tell when you lie to me.”
“It’s nothing,” Eddie says, “At least it is now.”
Y/N placed her drink down on the floor before she wrapped Eddie in a hug, “Does this have anything to do with Camila?”
Eddie didn’t answer but that was enough of an answer or Y/N.
Y/N pulled away slightly, placing her hands on either side of Eddie’s face, “You don’t have to tell me anything Eddie, but if you ever want to talk about it, I’m just a phone call away.”
“That’s the problem,” Eddie says, “You’re a phone call away but I wish you were just here with me or I was with you.”
Y/N leaned forward, resting her forehead against Eddie’s, “Eddie, I wish that were possible but you and I both know it isn’t.”
“I know, but I miss you.” Eddie says, closing his eyes.
“I miss you too,” Y/N says, her voice barely above a whisper, “So much.”
Eddie gave a tight lipped smile before pulling Y/N closer, he buried his head into her neck and the two stood like that for a while.
Eddie: I think that was the night that put everything into perspective for me.
Karen: Everyone could see that something was happening between Y/N and Eddie. Graham and I were taking bets on it.
Warren: Honestly I thought they were screwing long before the tour.
Eddie: I realised that day that night that Y/N was the one I wanted to be with. That feeling I would get when I was with Y/N was love. I was in love with Y/N and I hadn’t realised it. There was a point where we didn’t have shows for a couple days so I went to see Y/N. Billy wasn’t happy but I didn’t care, the only thing I cared about was her.
Y/N lay in her garden, enjoying her final day off before she finished shooting her movie. She flipped the page of her book while taking a sip from her drink.
“Y/N?” A voice broke the peaceful silence.
Y/N turned and came face to face with Eddie. Her eyebrows pulled together confused.
“What are you doing here? You should be on the other side of the country.” Y/N says, getting up from her chair.
“I needed to see you.” Eddie says.
“Are you okay?” Y/N asked concerned.
Eddie nodded, “I just need to tell you something.”
“You do know that phones exist right?” Y/N joked but once she realised that Eddie was serious she stepped closer to him, resting her hands on his upper arms gently.
“Are you sure that you’re okay?” Y/N questioned.
Eddie: As soon as she asked me that the second time, I couldn’t stop myself. I kissed her.
Y/N let out a sound of surprise as Eddie’s lips connected with hers. His hands held onto her waist, pulling her closer. Y/N didn’t do anything, she was shocked.
Eddie pulled away and looked at Y/N, her face remained expressionless. He was afraid he had just messed up another friendship.
“Y/N…” Eddie mumbled, “Please say something.
Y/N didn’t, her thoughts were running at a million miles an hour. Y/N slowly reached up and rested her hands on either side of Eddie’s face.
“Y/N, please.” Eddie said, barely audible.
Y/N leaned forward and connected their lips once again, her fingers ran through his hair. Eddie gripped onto her waist tightly and pulled her close until there wasn’t a single gap between them.
Eddie: (laughs) I still remember that day like it was yesterday.
Eddie tapped Y/N’s thigh and she jumped up wrapping her legs around him. Eddie carried her into the house and set her down on the kitchen countertop. Eddie pulled his lips away from Y/N briefly.
“Y/N, I love you.” Eddie says, his thumbs brushing across her thighs.
Y/N smiled, “You want to know something, Eddie? I had no clue I felt this way about you until you kissed me. It just feels right, like we should have been doing it all along.”
Eddie smiles and Y/N swears it is the most beautiful smile she had ever seen.
“Well then, let’s make up for lost time.” Eddie says and connects their lips once again.
Eddie: I proposed to Y/N six months later.
Y/N L/N: Over twenty years later I still feel like the young woman I was when we shared our first kiss and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

THE CHAIN -> e. roundtree PART ONE: drummers' curse
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PAIRING: eddie roundtree x fem!reader WARNINGS: mentions of minor injuries (NOTE: some warnings for this story include MAJOR spoilers for this series down the line, so I'll put those beneath the cut. If you don't want to get the story spoiled, then just ignore it ― but I did want to provide the chance for you to get an idea of how the story will go later down the line if you have any sensitive topics you'd like to avoid. please prioritize your mental wellbeing!)
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Apologies in advance for making Y/n the drummer and putting Warren on rhythmic guitar. I just loooooooove female drummers. Also can you tell that I love Karen and Camila? Because I love them with alllllll my heart and soul. Another sorry in advance because this one may break your heart a little ― it sure broke mine. NOTES ON THE WORK: I used the timeline from the book, mostly because I couldn't keep track of it in the show haha. I read the book twice before watching what episodes of the show were out, so the lines may blur between the two. For your convenience (and mine, tbh), I'll put the year all the characters were born underneath this note so you can reference it when you need to. I just couldn't keep track honestly. I think in the show they start the band when Graham is fourteen, but in the book he's around 18 when they add Warren on, so it's kind of confusing?? I decided to stick with the book because it was a more physical timeline. Anyways, enough talking, here's your guide! ― YEARS BORN (in order of age) Billy Dunne -> 1947 Camila Dunne -> 1949 Graham Dunne -> 1949 Warren Rhodes -> 1949 Eddie Roundtree -> 1949 Daisy Jones -> 1951 Y/n L/n -> 1951
WARNINGS (SPOILERS INCLUDED): reader has a terminal illness. Discussions about death and loss, depictions of grief, hospitals

It's no secret that the renowned 1970s band Daisy Jones & The Six went through its fair share of ups and downs. Until their inexplicable split on July 12, 1979, they were undeniably one of the biggest bands in the world. While a more detailed account of the band's history will be recounted in a more thorough transcript, this advanced edition will focus specifically on two of the band members: Eddie Roundtree and Y/n L/n. More specifically, it will focus on their individual and combined roles they played in the band's eventual downfall.
Tumblr media
THE RISE OF THE SIX (1965 - 1972)
GRAHAM: Y/n grew up next door to us. She was a little younger, two years or so, so we never really gave her a second look. Until the day she wandered into our garage during band practice out of nowhere. She practically ripped the drum sticks out of Chuck's hand and just started...wailing on 'em. I mean, she could make your head spin. Here was this thirteen, fourteen year old girl next door, this kid, and she was the best fuckin' drummer we'd seen. I mean, in the neighborhood. She wasn't Mitch Mitchell, but she was the closest thing we had. And she was too good to be shoved in the back with a tambourine. But we couldn't just take Chuck's spot away and hand it over to the new girl.
CHUCK: I knew right then and there that they wanted to give my spot to the new girl. There was no doubt in my mind. And, you know what? I got it. This chick was good. Way too good. Did I feel threatened by her? Hell yeah, I did. And at the time I probably wanted to tell her to screw off, but now...now I get it.
EDDIE: She was good. Amazing, actually. Graham and I looked at each other and knew that she was something we'd be stupid to pass up on.
BILLY: When Chuck told us he wanted out, we were pissed, of course. We were heading off to open for Winters that week. It felt like things were going to look up, just like I always knew they would, and he was ditching. I know now that that wasn't really what it was ― he'd gotten into college, fan-fucking-tastic. It was a good opportunity for him, a sure thing. But right then it felt like a betrayal.
WARREN: So he ditched, and Billy just turned right to Eddie and said, "Go tell Y/n she's in." And he was just...terrified.
EDDIE: I said, "why me?" You know? It wasn't my band, it was Billy's. And here he was, ordering me to tell some new girl she was in. I was fifteen and could barely ask a waitress for ketchup. At the time, that was probably the last thing I wanted to do.
GRAHAM: He asked why it had to be him, and I told him the truth: he was the least intimidating. Billy, you know him. He had a tendency to get too focused on the task at hand and could get a little...harsh. And Warren? He had one of the biggest personalities you could find. He'd scare her off before we had a chance to offer her the spot...[Pauses] I probably could've done it, in all honesty. I just didn't want to screw it up. Eddie was better with words than I was, and we needed her in our band. Badly.
EDDIE: And I remember thinking, "Here goes fucking nothing."
Tumblr media
The doorbell ringing was what got her attention. No one ever used the doorbell. It was always a knock ― that, or someone just walked in. The L/n's front door was hardly ever locked back then. Y/n's mom was a nurse, formerly a school nurse. She didn't want to risk the chance that some kid took a spill and had to limp home on an injured leg. So all the neighborhood knew, if you got hurt playing outside, you could march on over to Miss L/n's place to get yourself fixed up.
Y/n had her own share of walk-ins, too. By the time she was ten, she had seen her mom help out enough kids that she was practically a nurse herself. She could disinfect and bandage and stitch up any old case that walked through her front door. And if someone who was too busted up for first aid? She knew where the keys to the family Winnebago was and how to drive herself and them to the local hospital. She was only fourteen and didn't have a license, but it didn't matter. She was a safer driver than most everyone else on the road.
So when someone rang the doorbell, she assumed that it was someone too injured to knock. She grabbed the car keys and made sure her suture kit was within reach.
When she opened the door, she didn't see the blood and broken bones she was expecting. Instead, Eddie Roundtree stood on her front porch, hands shoved anxiously in his pockets. He looked all right, but that didn't stop her from asking: "You're not hurt, are you?"
"Um. No," Eddie said quickly, taking his hands out of his pockets.
"Okay," she said slowly, eyes narrowing. "Do you want to come in?"
"Yeah, sure."
Y/n turned and walked further into the house, prompting him to close the door and follow her. She led him to the kitchen. "Lemonade? I made it this morning," she offered, already opening the fridge.
EDDIE: That jug of lemonade was bigger than she was. [Laughs] I could barely watch her get it down. I was afraid she'd drop it on her foot. But she just took her time getting it from the fridge to the table. I found out later that her mom bought a pound of lemons a week because Y/n wanted something to offer every kid that came through their front door. [Pauses]. She was just like that.
He gave a nod. Y/n stood on her toes to grab two glasses from the cabinet. She poured one glass, hands shaking from the weight of the jug, and Eddie realized that this awkward silence was probably the best time to transition into his real reason for visiting.
"Chuck left the band."
"Oh," she said simply. "Sorry."
"Don't be."
She paused, looking confused. And Eddie, who's will to live was slowly draining from this conversation alone, raced to finish what he had (awkwardly) started.
"I just mean that...you're in. The band. If you want to be our drummer, you're in."
Y/n paused mid-pour, setting the pitcher down on the counter carefully. She turned around until her back pressed into the kitchen counter, arms crossed over her chest. "And you thought I'd jump at the chance to join?"
"No. No," Eddie said quickly. "We just wanted to offer you the spot if you still wanted it."
"Did I say that I wanted it?"
"No, but―"
"Okay, just making sure," she handed him a glass and hopped up onto the counter, crossing her legs underneath her. "So you need a drummer?"
"Yes. Badly."
She took a sip from her glass and paused, as if weighing her options in her mind. She swallowed. "Are there any other girls in the band yet?"
EDDIE: Yet. Like she knew it was going to happen. It was just a matter of time.
"No, not yet." he replied.
"Then be honest with me: are you guys sleazeballs?"
EDDIE: Sleazeballs. She didn't sugarcoat things. She wanted to know if we were creeps or if we'd let her play drums in peace. I get that, one hundred percent. but back then, it felt like she was trying to accuse us of something.
"No," he said quickly, "Well...Warren can be a little much, but he means well."
She took another slow sip, once again weighing her options in her mind. "When's your next gig?"
"We play pretty much every night, wherever we can find. It might take us a bit to teach you the songs, but―"
"I can learn them," she said confidently. "How soon do you need someone?"
"Soon as possible."
EDDIE: By then, I was terrified she'd say no. All these questions and never once did she seem really interested in joining. I was already trying to figure out which of us would be the least shit at the drums.
"Okay. I'm in."
EDDIE: And that was it. She said yes. I didn't appreciate how much she'd saved our asses right then, but I was relieved. That was for sure.
GRAHAM: Eddie came back, told us she said yes. She couldn't join practice until her mom got home ― she didn't want the house to be empty if some injured kid wandered by ― so we had about an hour and a half to teach her every song.
BILLY: She picked 'em up like [snaps] that. Never doubted it for a single second, either. Once she knew it, she knew it.
EDDIE: She showed up to the first gig in overalls and sneakers. She let Camila put a little makeup on her, too, but we could all tell she hated it.
CAMILA: She was sweet. And, surprisingly, a little shy. I could tell she was a little scared of the boys. That's why she was a little cold to them at first. But she was just the coolest kid. I mean, fourteen years old and joining a rock band? She was a little rockstar, right off the bat. She asked me to put some makeup on her before her first gig with the band. When I gave her a mirror after and asked her what she thought, she said, "I like it, but it makes me feel like a doll. Not a drummer." She liked the glitter the most, though. It became her trademark. She put it on her cheeks, in her hair, everywhere that would catch the light. She'd come off stage and you'd see a little pile of sparkles behind the drum set.
EDDIE: Right off the bat, first gig. It was enough to freak anyone out. She joined the band six hours ago, learned the songs three hours ago, and now she was playing in a club to a couple dozen people. It seems so small now, but back then? It was like starting at Wembley.
Tumblr media
Y/n shook out her hands for the eighth time. It wasn't about loosening up for the gig anymore, she just needed something to do that didn't involve throwing a punch or screaming at the top of her lungs. She looked up at Billy, standing at the front of the group, cool and calm as ever, and she had the distinct urge to kick him in the shin. Why did he get to be so calm when she was right behind him, on the verge of throwing up?
She turned to anxiously twisting a single drum stick between her fingers, around and around, faster and faster. Eventually it became so mindless that she barely noticed as the stick slipped from her fingers, clattering to the floor. She bent to retrieve it quickly, hoping no one had noticed.
But, of course, someone did.
"Hey," Eddie said, looking back at her.
"Warren knocked it out of my hands." she said quickly.
Eddie glanced over at Warren, who was a solid two feet ahead of her, physically unable to have knocked a drum stick out of her hands. Y/n knew from that glance that he could see right through her lie. Now she really wasn't in the mood to talk.
EDDIE: She was terrified. And she was lying her ass off about it. I didn't want to run the risk that she choked up in the middle of the show and screwed up our set. So I figured I'd just, talk. And if she wanted me to screw off, she'd tell me. She had a way of saying exactly what she wanted.
"You've heard of the Drummer's Curse, right?" he asked.
She frowned in a way that told him no, she did not.
"First, there's the obvious stuff: drummers have to lug around the most shit out of anyone in the band. Drums sets are heavy and expensive, so there's that. But the worst part is that they're easy to overlook, you know? They're at the back of the stage behind all this shit, everyone stands in front of 'em. Drummers can fade into the background real easy. The best drummers can outshine anyone else onstage. You'll do that one day, but if you're freaked out now, just let yourself fade a little. You'll play better than anyone up there and the crowd'll know it, but you can let them focus on someone else if you want. You get what I'm saying?"
EDDIE: For a second, I thought she was going to punch me.
But then she nodded, wiped off some of the pink lipstick Camila had put on her with the back of her hand, and pushed her bangs to the side. "Drummers' Curse, huh?"
"Some people believe in it, some don't."
"And you?" she asked, turning to him. "Do you believe in that kind of stuff?"
Eddie paused. Shrugged. "Sure. Seems true enough to me."
Y/n nodded. "I don't. It sounds like bullshit to me."
Eddie frowned. She looked up at him. "I'm not going to let myself fade because I'm scared. I signed up for this, you know. The least I can do is own my place. If I outshine you, it's just because I'm that good," she said matter-of-factly. "I will need help carrying the stuff, though."
EDDIE: I didn't know what to say. I mean, [laughs] what the hell do you say to that?
He felt like he'd had the rug pulled out from under him. And then, he surprised himself: he laughed.
And Y/n surprised herself then, too ― she smiled.
EDDIE: That was just...[Shakes head. Smiles.] I don't know.
"I think we can manage that." he said with a smile.
"Ladies and gentlemen...The Dunne Brothers!"
Tumblr media
WARREN: If I were still the guy I was back then, I would completely undersell her to you right now. I'd tell you she was an average drummer who was more in it for the thrill than the craft. But that wasn't it at all. She got up there and she just...shined.
GRAHAM: We all knew she'd be scared before the first gig. In fact, she looked about ready to throw up when they announced us on stage. But the second she hit those lights, it was like she was a different person. She waved and smiled like she'd done it a hundred times. The only other person I'd seen do that ― I mean really become another person on stage ― is Billy.
BILLY: That first show with Y/n was a little bit of a trainwreck. We were at least a half beat behind the entire show. And I'm not saying I blame her, but she was new and shiny. We got through it just fine, but I think we all felt it wasn't our best show.
WARREN: That show was bitchin'.
GRAHAM: It was a great show.
WARREN: Back in those days, we'd get off stage and start cheering for ourselves like we'd just won the goddamn lottery. Somewhere along the way, that stopped. We'd just pat each other on the back, say 'good job,' and that was that. But when Y/n got backstage? She was screaming and yelling like it was the best night of her life. And all of us joined in without a second thought ― well, maybe all of us except Billy. He was kind of a hard ass, even then. None of us had ever heard this girl talk louder than a glorified whisper, and then she came out of nowhere with this full-body scream. And who did she run to? Well, I think you can guess.
CAMILA: She just about jumped into Eddie's arms.
Adrenaline is a funny thing. For one, the effect is had on different people can be vastly different depending on who it was. Some people mellowed out, some people amped up. Y/n fell into the second category.
The second she got off the stage, a giddy laugh ripped from her chest, turning more into a scream of triumph halfway through. She was buzzing. Literally. Her hands felt numb ― or, more accurately, they felt like they felt more. Everything she touched was sharp and blinding.
The next person to join in on the screaming and jumping around was Warren. Then Graham. Then Eddie. And then, reluctantly, Billy. Eddie was the last to come off stage, slinging his guitar off his shoulders, and Y/n, without thinking much about it, ran straight to him, leaping directly into his unsuspecting arms.
The others were too hyped up on their own adrenaline rushes to notice that anything out of the ordinary had happened. She wrapped her legs around his waist hanging onto him like a koala. And Eddie, who couldn't deny adrenaline, held onto her back without a second thought.
After a moment, she leaned back, arms still wrapped around his neck, faces inches apart. "Drummers' curse, huh?"
EDDIE: She didn't fade. She couldn't, not even if she tried.
Eddie just smiled and shook his head. "Sounds like bullshit to me."

“morning after”
eddie roundtree x fem!reader
part 2 to “driving me crazy”
little drabble but still fun
request by: @beckinator7
Tumblr media
When you entered the kitchen that morning, Karen was already having breakfast at the table. You opened the fridge and ran a tired hand over your face while deciding what to eat.
She eyed your attire suspiciously. Boxers and a large t-shirt. “Sleep well?” she asked.
“Oh, yeah,” you said, taking a loaf of bread from the fridge and sticking two slices in the toaster.
Of course, Karen knew what happened the night before, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t have a little fun with it. “So, whose clothes are those?”
“Mine,” you lied, keeping your back faced to her so she couldn’t see your face.
“You like Bay City Rollers and wearing men’s boxers?”
The toast popped out and you grabbed it hastily. “Jeez, that’s hot,” you said, purposely ignoring the question.
“You know, I have a distinct memory of you saying you hate Bay City Rollers. Funny thing about that, I also remember Eddie wearing that shirt while you yelled at him about it.”
“Well, maybe his laundry got mixed with mine in the wash.” You didn’t look at her, focused on buttering your toast.
She took a bite of her muffin. “Either that or you’re screwing him.”
You set the knife down and stared at her. “Jesus, Karen. We are at the breakfast table.”
She shrugged. “I think it’s important for us women to be open and comfortable with our sexualities.”
“I’m. . .comfortable. In other settings.” You took a nervous bite of toast.
“I also think it’s important to acknowledge that you didn’t deny that you’re screwing him.” She hid her laugh behind her coffee mug as you grimaced.
Eddie walked in just in time and stood behind Karen’s chair. “You’re screwing someone and I didn’t know?” His mouth curved into a teasing cheshire grin that only you could see.
He circled the table and brushed your shoulders with his hands as he slid behind your chair. An awkward silence overtook the room. Karen pressed her hand to her mouth to stop herself from laughing. You gestured for her to cut it out, but her body continued to shake with silent laughter.
Eddie looked over his shoulder from the pantry with one eyebrow raised. “You girls don’t have to stop talking now that I’m here.”
That was the breaking point. Karen bursted out in a hysterical fit of laughter while you covered your face with your hands, shaking your head in embarrassment.
Eddie stifled his laugh while pouring himself a bowl of cereal. He sat in the chair next to you. You peeked through your fingers and caught the proud look on his face. He thought this was so funny.
“Good morning, ladies,” Warren said cheerily as he strode into the room, Graham following close behind.
Graham nudged Eddie as he walked past him. “Fun night?” He smirked at him while pouring himself a cup of coffee.
“Yeah, actually,” he replied, glancing at you with a sly smile.
Your face was feeling wildly hot with more people in the room commenting on your sex life. If there’s one thing you learned from this, it was to be quiet next time, or never do it in this house.
It didn’t help that Eddie wasn’t the slightest bit embarrassed about this. He was cocky, really. When he looked at you, his smile suggested that you were doing something secret when, in reality, everyone was aware.
“Woah, Y/n. What’s that big ugly thing on your neck?” Warren said, sitting on your other side.
Your head jerked up in alarm. “What?”
Graham craned his neck to get a better look. “Actually, it looks like there’s more than one.” He snickered. Karen snorted and covered her mouth immediately.
“That’s real interesting, Y/n,” Warren said, feigning innocence. “Maybe you should get that checked out.” His laugh broke out mid sentence and caused a chain reaction of laughter from Graham and Karen.
Your face was hot to the touch. Eddie was laughing under his breath. “Would you stop? I’m gonna kill all of you.”
“Pretty sure you’ve said that to me before.” Eddie attempted to suppress his laugh while looking at you. “And obviously that didn’t happen.”
Karen slapped a hand on the table, full on cackling. You smacked Eddie’s shoulder and cursed at him. “I actually hate you.”
Warren was doing a mix of laughing and coughing. “Bet that’s not what you said last night.”
You gaped at him. “Oh, my God, Warren. There’s something wrong with you.”
“Y/n and Eddie sitting in a tree,” Graham sang.
“Shut up!” You pressed your head into your hands again, desperately trying to ignore the unanimous laughter throughout the room.

How They All Found Out || ER
You and Eddie were doing a good job of sneaking around with your realationship. But slowly, as you two start to fall more and more in love, it gets harder to hide your feelings from the band.
pairings: Eddie Roundtree x Fem!reader
warnings: me messing with the timeline for the fic’s sake, cussing, talks of kids in the future, allusions to sex
authors note: Djats is my new favorite thing. Let me know if you guys have any other requests, i’d be happy to write them.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
You and Eddie starting seeing eachother on the break of the SevenEightNine tour. It was perfect timing, you didn’t have to hide, since it was always just the two of you. You got along so well, It felt like you were the only people in the world. Nothing else mattered. The two of you would lie in bed all day, no worries but eachother. It was all perfect. That was, until, Billy got out of Rehab and the band got together again. Then everything got hard.
Eddie Roundtree (Rhythm Guitarist): That first month or two, man, those were the days. Just me and my girl, nothing else to worry about. It was all so easy. And don’t get me wrong, when we [the band] got back together, I was thrilled. It just meant things would get harder for Y/n and me.
You and Eddie were lying in bed together one morning, the sun shining through the windows of your now shared bedroom. Your head was lying on his chest while his hand rested on your lower back. The only thing you were wearing was (his) a tshirt and your underwear. It was a perfect, peaceful scene. But, inside your head, everything was the opposite. Billy had just gotten out of Rehab. Which would normally be good, but all it did was make things more complicated. The band would start practicing again. And you didn’t want what you had with Eddie to just stop. You hadn’t talked about what you were, but you were sure he would want to stay together. He acted like your boyfriend. And that was all the mattered, right?
“Eddie, what do you think will happen when we start practicing again?” You asked, tentatively. You had been thinking about asking this question for a while. If Eddie was going to end it, you wanted it over with. Rip the band-aid off, right? He turned his head toward you and smiled slightly. “Well, what do you want to do?” He started, “I mean, I dont want to stop this. I like you, a whole lot.” You felt your face heat up. You felt like a 13-year-old girl with her first crush, but you didn’t care. Eddie had that effect on you. You replied, “Me too. It’s just- Would you mind if we don’t tell the others? Just for a while.”
Y/N L/N (Bassist): When you’re a woman in a band, people say a lot of shitty things to you. They’ll question your ability to play, say others are better than you. Back then, what other people thought meant a lot to me. I didn’t want to be “Eddie Roundtree’s Girlfriend.” I wanted to be known as me.
You could see his smile falter. You didn’t want this, but it was for the best. The best for you, atleast. You’d still have lots of time together, right? Everything would be the same. That’s what you kept telling yourself.
“Yeah, sure. As long as I get to keep kissing you.” Eddie said. You were glad he was taking it well. He puts a smirk on leans over to kiss you. You laugh and put both your hands on the side of his face to pull him in. He adjusts himself to be on top of you.
Maybe this would work out better than you thought.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Practice with the band has been going great. It was four months after Billy had gotten back. He was doing a lot better, and you were proud of him. You guys were playing more than ever, just trying to make up for lost time. That meant waking up early and staying in the studio til the late hours of the night.
The downside of this was that you and Eddie got less and less time together. You could see his longing glances across the studio, when the rest of the band was there. He just wanted to be together, which you could understand. You would take every opportunity possible to sneak into his room, most times just to talk. You wanted to be near him, to hear his voice and feel his touch. It was getting increasingly harder to not do so in front of others.
One night, after a long practice, you were struggling to sleep. It had been happening for nights and nights in a row. You weren’t sure why, most likely due to all the stress of the rehearsals. You had tried everything from counting sheep, flipping yor pillow, you even smoked a cigarette or two. But nothing helped. After tossing and turning for what seemed like hours, you decided you would head into the kitchen to get a glass of water.
You slowly rolled out of your bed, your feet touching the cold floor beneath you as you walked to your door. You quietly opened the door, slipping out of your bedroom. The last thing you wanted was to wake the whole house up at this hour. Quickly, you scurried into the kitchen. You stuck your hands out to feel around for the cabinet holding the cups. But, instead of your hands finding a knob, you felt a mop of soft, blonde hair.
“What the hell,” Eddie quickly turned around to face you, loudly shutting the cabinet holding the glassware. “Eddie!” You scolded him for being so loud. You placed a hand over his mouth, symbolizing for him to be quiet. He tried to stifle a laugh as he grabbed the hand in front of his mouth, encasing it in his much larger hand. “Funny seeing you here, baby.” Eddie smirked as he placed one hand firmly on your hip, still holding one of your hands. You laughed quietly, a smile reserved only for him starting to appear on your face. He leaned down to kiss you on the forehead. “I’ve missed you.” Eddie said. You laughed quietly, quickly responding, “I saw you five hours ago, remember?” He rolls his eyes at you. “Not like that. I miss being alone with you.” He says suggestively. He slowly starts tracing patterns on your hand with his thumb.
“Well, we have alone time right now… why not make good use of it?” You smirk. Eddie leaned down to kiss your jaw, moving down until he reached your neck. Your wrapped your hands around his neck, slightly turning your head to give him better access. You were fully wrapped up in the kisses before you realized where you were. He was kissing you in the middle of the kitchen! Anyone could walk in! “Eddie,” you started, but he ignored your call. “Eddie!” you said it much louder this time, but not loud enough for anyone else to hear. He stopped his trail of kisses, leaning his forehead against yours. He was so close to your lips, if he leaned in any further they would touch.
“We shouldn’t be doing this right now. Atleast not here.” You said. You bit your lip immediately after, pulling back your words. You knew it wasn’t right, but you missed him so much you couldn’t help it. “I know you don’t mean that.” Eddie said, tauntingly. He pulled a hand up to your lip, untucking it from under your teeth. “You bite your lip when you lie, sweetheart. You’re not very good at it.” He whispers to you. What happens next, you couldn’t control. You crashed your lips into his, hungrily looking for more.
Eddie places his hands under your thighs, and you jump up, wrapping your legs around him. His hands trace circles on your bare skin, making your heart jump. While your lips are still on his, he carries you to the counter, placing you down in front of him. His body is between your legs. Eddie is kissing down your neck, leaving light hickeys wherever he wants too. Those will be a problem for tomorrow. But right now, you’re fully in the moment. His hands are now under your shirt, and you can feel your heartbeat rising.
You’d been waiting for this forever. At this point, you’d forgotten you were in the middle of the kitchen. You needed him, and he needed you. The last time you were able to be together like this was weeks ago. All the pent-up tension between the two of you was being released with each kiss. Eddie grabs the end of your shirt, signalling for you to take it off. You do, and he kisses your shoulders and chest. But all the sudden, he stops. You look down at him, confused.
“Eddie? Eddie what happen-“
“Woah.” Warren says, startling you.
You turn your head, your face displaying total shock. Of course, someone would walk in! Just your luck. You quickly pull your shirt over your head and hop off the counter. This would take some explaining.
“You guys? You guys are hooking up?” Warren continues. His mouth is wide open. He’s laughing, rather loudly too. “I would’ve never guessed, man!”
The three of you stand there, all in total shock, for about a minute.
Warren Rojas (Drummer): It was crazy. I mean, we all knew they [Y/n and Eddie] had something. But I would’ve never known they’d been fucking. I always wondered why they didn’t tell anyone.
“So,” Eddie said. He looked at you for guidance.
“Please don’t tell anybody, Warren. Please.” You were practically begging him. You looked at him with your best puppy dog eyes and pleading smile. You could feel Eddie brushing his fingers against yours, almost for comfort.
“You guys don’t have to worry about me. I‘ll keep your secret.” He said. “I better be best man at the wedding, though.” Warren laughed.
“It’s not-“ Eddie said.
“Yeah, yeah. Can I atleast get some food though?” He said motioning to where you guys were standing, blocking the fridge.
You both nodded and scooted over very akwardly. You looked up at Eddie and all you could do was laugh, leaning into him. You placed your head on his chest, and he reached his hand up to cradle the back of your head. You were both laughing quietly. The situation was really ridiculous. You had been so careful, you never thought you would get caught. But it’s only one person who knows, right? And Warren wouldn’t dare tell anybody.
When Warren finished with whatever he was getting from the fridge, he started to walk away. When he was almost to his door, he turned to face you and Eddie. He looked like he wanted to say something but decided against it. He settled with an akward wave. With that, Warren was gone.
“So, where were we…” Eddie said, slowly starting to kiss yor jaw. You put your hands out, putting space between the two of you.
“I’d rather not have the entire band walk in on us, Eds.” You say. Your decision still stands, about not wanting the whole world to know of you and Eddie’s realationship. If you could even call it that, really. “But, maybe if we went to one of our bedrooms…” You trail off. Eddie doesn’t have to hear anymore. He is dragging you off to his room.
Eddie Roundtree: That was a good night for me. For us. I think it really made me realize what I wanted for us. Y/n still didn’t want to come out in the open with our realationship, which I understood. But that didn’t mean we couldn’t have something just between us. So I asked her to be my girlfriend that night. And she said yes. *smiles*
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
About two months or so after the Warren incident, the band was back in the studio recording. You were working with Teddy Price again. It was a miracle he let you back, considering how terribly the last tour ended. He suggested you bring in a new voice, someone who could bring more traction to the band. He suggested Daisy Jones. So, the band got to work on your new song Aurora, with the help of the wonderful Daisy.
One late night, the whole band was out with Daisy at Chateau Marmont. It was one of her many parties, which were always marvelous. You were wearing a short black skirt, matched with a white halter top with red floral detailing. You put together this outfit especially for a lipstick you wanted to wear, that was gifted to you by Karen, for your birthday. It was a gorgeous deep red color that complimented your skin perfectly.
You arrived at the Chateau a little later than everyone else, and you quickly found who you were looking for. Eddie. You made your way across the room to him. His face lit up with an all too familiar boyish smile. Eddie was standing alone next to the drinks, nursing a beer. He reached down to the cooler and grabbed you one, popping it open for you.
“Here you go, Y/n.” Eddie said while holding out his hand with the open beer. You took it with a smile.
“I’ve been looking for you all night, baby. Where have you been?” said Eddie. He takes a quick sip of his beer, admiring you. You can see his eyes flick up and down, from your legs up to your face. You could tell they lingered on your chest, which was exactly what you wanted. “I like this shirt.” He says, winking. You scan the room, making sure nobody is watching. You slowly take his hand and place a sloppy kiss on his lips. You start to lead him into a close bathroom.
“Are you sure Y/n? I mean we just got here, and you said you still wanted to keep us a secret.” Eddie says, looking at you concerningly. But you can tell, by how Eddie is looking at you and how he’s standing, with one hand holding yours and the other tight on your ass, that he really wants to sneak into the bathroom aswell. He was looking out for you, which was always something you admired about him. He was always considerate.
“It’ll be quick.” You smirk. You both make it into the restroom. You turn and lock the door behind you.
Around 30 minutes later, Eddie emerges from the bathroom. You both decided he would go first, just in case someone you two knew was by the door. This way nobody would become suspicious. He walks out back into the party, which has gained guests and volume while the two of you were away. He navigates through the crowd to find another beer. While searching for that, he finds two people from the band. Karen and Daisy were standing in the corner together. They wave Eddie over and he walks towards them.
“Hey Eddie, where have you been?” Says Karen. Daisy and Karen both smile at him, whilst exchanging looks. Eddie doesn’t catch it at first. He starts a conversation with them. But soon, after a while, Karen and Daisy burst out into a fit of laughter.
“What, what is it?” Eddie says, irriatated. Are they laughing at him? He hasn’t done anything embarrassing. Karen and Daisy don’t answer his question, they just continue to giggle.
“What’s funny?” Eddie restates himself. Now, he is just as much confused as he is annoyed. Did Billy tell them something? At this point, he was ready to leave and find somebody else to talk to. He was just about to walk away when Daisy grabs his hand.
“No, Eddie, wait,” She says between laughs, “We’ll tell you what’s funny.”
So, he turns backs around and crosses his arms. He could be doing much better things than being laughed at by two band mates. He looks around the room, impatiently waiting for their answer.
“Did you realize you have lipstick on your face, Eddie? Red lipstick?” Daisy says.
Oh.
That’s what they were laughing at.
“And it looks an awful lot like the one I got Y/n for her birthday.” Karen adds.
Karen Sirko (keyboardist): Oh my God! It was hilarious! Eddie comes out, and he has lipstick everywhere. His lips, his neck. And at first I was like, “Oh, good for him.” but then I realized that it was Y/n’s lipstick! The one i got her for her birthday, even. God, that was the highlight of my week.
Eddie reaches a hand up to his lips, and sure enough, deep, red lipstick residue is on his hands. The trail goes down his neck, too. He keeps trying to rub it off to the best of his ability. He laughs akwardly, looking down. Daisy senses the akwardness and tries to comfort him.
“Hey, i’m really happy for you guys. You two will be a great match, i’m sure.” She smiles, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
Eddie looks up, smiling back at her. “Would it be okay if you guys didn’t tell anybody for now? We aren’t ready to tell everyone yet.” He says.
Daisy Jones (vocals): Eddie and Y/n? They were adorable. You could just tell that he was in love with her. When he would play, the only person his eyes went to was Y/n. As for Y/n, she was the same. When he walked into the room, you could see her smile. If I wanted my future to be like anyone’s, It would probably be their’s.
Karen and Daisy both nod. Eddie felt really bad about them finding out. Y/n had asked him to keep it a secret and he was dumb and messed it up. But, hey, Warren already knows. So two more people shouldn’t be so bad? And Eddie trusts Karen. He wasn’t sure about Daisy yet, but Y/n seemed to love her. He’d have to tell Y/n soon.
Y/n L/n: I wasn’t mad at all. It was really my fault for not noticing the lipstick. I helped him wipe it off after that, and I have to admit, he looked really silly. I can’t believe he left the bathroom looking like that.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
It was Julia’s first birthday. Camila had put together a celebration with balloons, banners, and an adorable little pink cake. It was all out together in their new house’s backyard. They had a housewarming party a while ago. It was one of the best parties you’d ever been too. Being surrounded by friends who loved you always made you feel better.
At Julia’s party, you and Eddie were playing with her. She had brought a couple Barbies outside and was acting out a scene with them. You and Eddie were doing it with her, going along with whatever she says. “We go swim!” Julia moves her Barbie over to a nearby puddle, grabbing both your hands and making you move yours over too. “Weeeeee!” Julia makes the Barbies jump up and down in the puddle. While they were jumping, she moves them around wildly in your direction and they splash your sundress.
“Woah! Julia!” You say, holding her hand to settle her down. “You got me all wet!” You joke, fake scolding. She giggles, apologizing, “I’m sorry Aunt Y/n!” You smile at her. How could you be mad at such a cute face? You grab Julia’s hand while standing up, and point in her dad’s direction. “It’s okay, Jules. Why don’t you go find your dad while I go clean up?” She follows your directions and runs over to her father, Billy.
You stand up, swiftly brushing the dirt and grime off your hands and dress.
“You’re really good with Julia, Y/n” Eddie says.
You smile widely at him, laughing happily. “You think so? I always imagined myself with kids when I was younger.”
“It just got me thinking. We could do that one day.” Eddie says, looking down at you fondly.
“Have kids?” You ask. It was true, you always thought you’d have a family. Two, even three kids. Maybe a dog, too. But that was all back in Pittsburgh. You weren’t sure if that life would fit into your life style now.
“Yeah. Big house, white picket fence. Some kids running around. Wouldn’t you like that, Y/n?” He says. You two were dangerously close, in the middle of Billy and Camila’s yard. Everyone you knew was there. But at the moment, it only felt you and Eddie were present. It was like the world closed in on you, and it was just him and you left. You liked the close, intimate feel. Even though you had been dating for around a year, you had never talked about your future outside of being in the band.
“Yeah, I think I would like that.” You say happily. You liked this side of Eddie. The warm, inviting side. You really were beginning to see a future with the blonde. The two of you stood, in the middle of the yard, just looking into each other’s eyes. Words didn’t need to be spoken. It was a silent “I love you”.
Eddie Roundtree: Yeah, I remember that day. She just looked so beautiful, playing with Jules. She was so kind, always was. You couldn’t help but love her. *smiles*
You are quickly snapped out of the moment by Camila calling to you.
“Hey, Y/n!” Camila says. She walks up to you and frowns. “I heard about your dress. I’m so sorry, i’ll talk to Jules after the party.” She apologizes.
“No, it’s okay. I’ll just wash it when I get home.” You respond. You look down at your blue sundress, taking a look at all the muddy spots. “I think i’ll go inside and try to find a washcloth. I’ll try to get some of the mud out.” You say. Camila nods.
“I’ll come with you!” She exclaims. You flash Eddie a sweet smile goodbye, and he winks in return. Eddie turns to go talk to Graham as you go inside with Camila. As soon as you shut the door, Camila starts to smile suspiciously.
“You and Eddie, hm?” She questions. You freeze, simply in shock. You were going to have to dig yourself out of a big hole. Plus, you were never good at lying, especially to Camila. It was like she could see through people. You always envied it about her.
“What do you mean, Cami?” You ask. You begin to make you way to the sink, avoiding her eyes.
“Don’t try to fool me. I see the way he looks at you, Y/n. It’s like you hung the stars and put the moon in the sky. He loves you.” Camila smiles. She digs through the drawers of her kitchen before handing you a white washcloth.
“I don’t,” You start. The question had totally caught you off guard. Was it love? Had you fallen in love with Eddie Roundtree? “I don’t know how he feels.” You stutter. Guess there is no hiding it now.
You begin to wet the washcloth, but your mind is anywhere besides this room. Is Camila right? You always knew you had something special with Eddie. But you’d never thought about it this much to be honest. With the baby conversation today and Camila’s conversation with you right now, you are seriously considering it. Things between you and the blonde wasn’t just hooking up anymore and it hasn’t been for a long time. It felt as if things were suddenly gettin for serious, and you were not going to say no to it.
“Well I think I know how you feel.” The girl says, poking you in the side. You laugh with her, moving your hip out of her reach. You shake your head in response, but the radiant smile on your face tells otherwise.
When you recover from the laughter fit, you begin to blot the muddy fabric of your dress with the cloth. Cami settles down as well. She peeks out the window and smiles, “Looks like everyone is about to sing happy birthday. I better go get the candles. Come out in a second, yeah?” She says. You nod, waving her goodbye.
Just before she is about to walk out the door, she turns around and teases, “Oh, and Eddie will be out there, too. You might want to hurry.” She winks at you mischievously before shutting the door and hurrying over to where Julia and Billy were.
Camila Dunne: Oh, Gosh, they were an amazing couple. I would’ve never known, but once I did, it just felt so obvious. They were perfect together, and I mean it. You could just tell by the way they looked at eachother. As soon as his eyes fell on Y/n, they turned into hearts. And vice versa.
Normally, you would be freaking out. You just gave away the secret of your realationship to yet another person. But right now you were on cloud 9. Eddie Roundtree might love you. And you might love him back.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
When Aurora was finally finished, the entire band was thrilled. Everyone had working together, and it turned out perfectly. You could feel it was about to be a big hit. The single, Look At Us Now, was already topping the charts. You had Daisy’s and Billy’s perfect vocal chemistry to thank for that.
Everybody was getting ready for the album cover shoot. It had been scheduled for weeks. After much bickering from Daisy and Billy, they decided on a desert shoot. The whole band was wearing tan, blue, and brown costumes, some more extravagant than others.
You and Eddie, though, had different plans. You snuck into his room late the night before. Everyone was staying in a hotel, as the photo shoot location was about 3 hours out of town and nobody wanted to drive that far so early. So, while everyone was getting ready, you and Eddie were lying in bed together, enjoying the solitude of the morning.
You were brushing stray hairs out of his face, to make sure you could see his beautiful eyes. Atleast you always thought they were beautiful. He was looking right back at you, with a dopey grin on his face. “I love you, Y/n.” He whispered. And you whispered it back.
After ten more minutes of this lovesick haze, you sat up, grabbing your watch that layed onnthe bedside table. Your face froze with shock.
“Shit, Shit, Shit! Eddie, it’s already 9:30. We were supposed to be down five minuetes ago!” With those words, the two of you flew out of bed, hurrily throwing on coats and blouses and brushing knotted hair from last night’s activities.
Meanwhile, downstairs, everyone was waiting on you two. Daisy, Karen, Warren, Camila, Billy, even Julia, all sat downstairs around a couple tables. They had finished breakfast a while ago, as it was now 9:45.
“Okay, where the fuck are they?” Billy said, tapping his foot. Karen and Daisy shared a look, Warren snickered, and Camila avoided his gaze. But Graham was clueless.
“I’ll go get them. I’m done eating anyway.” The younger Dunne brother said, hopping out of his seat next to Karen. He walks up to the elavator and steps inside, pressing the button of the band’s floor.
Meanwhile, you and Eddie were still frantically trying to get ready. You were applying a nude lipstick while Eddie buttoned up his shirt. You were no where near ready and you figured time was running out.
Suddenly, there is a knock on the door. You both freeze, making eye contact in the mirror.
“Probably just maintenance.” You reason.
“Yeah, just maintenance.” He agrees.
But you both quickly found out you were wrong when Graham’s voice sounded from the other side of the door. “Eddie, man, get up! You’re already thirty minutes late for photos.”
Oh, so it wasn’t maintenance. It was Graham. And Graham didn’t know. You and Eddie had started to consider telling everyone for good, but it had been so easy how it already was. You had settled into a routine of secrecy. It would just be so much harder to stop.
Graham knocks again, sounding impatient. You quickly pull out a curling iron to atleast get half your hair done while Eddie rushes to the door.
“Hey, just give me five more minutes.” He says before shutting the door in his face. Your boyfriend quickly rushes over to you in the bedroom, as you had given up on the hair curling idea after the front two pieces.
“What are we going to do, Ed?” you ask. He places a reassuring hand on your cheek, brushing a piece of hair away from your face.
“I’ll go out first. I’ll talk to Graham for a little before moving on downstairs. Then, he’ll go to your room next door and knock. You’ll slip out of here and try to walk a little ways down the hall so he doesn’t notice you came out of my room. Just pretend you were getting ice or something.” He says. You nod, trying hard to listen to exactly what he says.
When Eddie finishes speaking, you place a gentle kiss on his cheek. “For good luck.” you say. He smiles and embraces you quickly before heading for the door, motioning for you to hide on the other side of the room.
“Sorry about that Graham. Woke up late.” You can hear Eddie say from the other side of the wall. You press your ear up against the wallpaper trying to listen to more.
“I get it. I’m going to knock on Y/n’s door too. She must’ve overslept as well.” He pats Eddie on the shoulder before moving on to your door down the hall. You hear the steps of boots which you assume means he’s far enough away. You make your way to the door and open it very slowly. You manage to squeeze out of the half opened door. Now, you shut the door quietly before walking a little ways down the hall, like Eddie said.
“Hey, Y/n!” Graham calls out, and you stop in your tracks. “Where’d you come from?” He asks.
“I was just getting ice. Down the hall. At the ice machine.” You manages to sputter out. You’d never describe yourself as a nervous person, but right now, the nerves where like butterflies floating in your stomach, in your brain, and throughout your whole body. Graham furrows his brows at you, not very convinced by your efforts.
“I’m going to go ahead and get some breakfast.” You say quickly, speedwalking down the hallway. You thought you handled that pretty well.
Graham Dunne (Lead Guitar): She had come out of Eddie’s room. It was very obvious. Y/n was also always a terrible liar. I knew they were hooking up way before that ever even happened.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Karen Sirko: I think everyone knew they were in a realationship by that point. Daisy and I had a bet on when they would tell us.
Daisy Jones: It eventually came out when we were on tour, so Karen won technically. But they were just so shit at keeping secrets we all figured out a long time ago.
Warren Rojas: I was actually best man at Eddie’s and Y/n’s wedding. It was probably the best wedding i’ve ever been to. But don’t tell Lisa that. *winks*

“Was that before or after I spent all my money on that van?” Rojas' voice came out in a muffled laugh, with the coexistence you knew how to tell that he was in disbelief.
“Come on Chuck, you can't do that!” You interfere, hoping he understands that you all need him. “We have a big gig tonight.”
Billy turns around irritably, running both hands through his hair, Graham is staring at the ground and the thought of seeing him sad causes a knot in your stomach. You try to hold it together, that's what you used to do since you joined the band.
You had heard the conversation between Graham, Warren, Chuck and Eddie that day when the creation of the band was proposed. They knew you were a good vocalist, they had heard you sing on a few occasions and they knew that losing you as a member would be stupid, even if the band went nowhere.
Even though he thought he was the protagonist, Billy wasn't so reluctant to share his attention with you, seeing you more as an addition to something that would be very good. Everything was on track, you were actually gaining a lot of visibility and opportunities lately and the thought of Chuck giving up was a catastrophe.
You come back from your thought when you hear Chuck's low voice say “You're out of your fucking mind”
“So now what do we do?” Rojas asks, lighting a cigarette.
“Eddie you switch over to bass” Billy orders, you can feel how tense Roundtree turns in a second.
“No.” He scoffs, rolling his eyes.
“Please Eddie, just this time.” You ask affectionately, a little desperately.
“Fine.” He throws the unlit cigarette on the ground, heading towards the van that had brought you here.
“You ready Y/N?” Eddie asks through your door, you quickly grab your jacket and fix your hair before opening it.
“Let's do this.” You were nervous, it was the first time you had to do a big change for a gig and besides it was a big opportunity. All you wanted was things to go well. “Hey, I know you didn't want this but, thank you for doing it.”
Eddie smiles small, nodding before you are interrupted by some horns outside your house, you hurried towards Rojas' van where you saw him accompanied.
“New girl?” You ask Eddie before you reach the van.
“Yeah, Warren is kinda dating her right now. I guess.” Roundtree offers you a cigarette and you take it in his hand. “Hm, talking about love…”
He looks at you with a smirk, you immediately roll your eyes.
“Don't even start.” You ask, feeling your cheeks hot.
“You should tell him, you know.” As you two sit in the back of the van he “starts” even though you asked him not to. “I think you guys look cute together.”
“Y'all talking about y/n+graham’s?” Warren turns from the driver's seat with a smirk.
“What the fuck is y/n+graham's?” You ask with the cigarette between your lips, confused.
“Your couple name, we talk about you two a lot.” Eddie teases you, as Rojas nods starting the van.
“I don't know where you guys got the idea that we are something.” You lay your head against the window, feeling the breeze as you try not to smile with the thought of Graham and You as something.
The truth is that you were in love with him for years now, since before you guys were a band, you always felt amazed by him and little by little you noticed that it had become a passion. You fell in love with him deeply since you started to hang out more together, you tried to hide it but things got impossible when Eddie found your lyrics to a song that well… was pretty clear about your feelings.
You barely noticed when Warren parked in front of the place where they were going to perform, you could hear ‘The Winters’ checking the sound to make sure everything was okay. By coincidence, you had also arrived with Billy, Camila and Graham, who were getting out of the car with their instruments at the same time as you were doing the same.
You enter the place admiring the environment, happy and shocked by the different size than what you had expected. Camila hugs Eddie and then wraps her arms around Billy, Warren and his girlfriend walk hand in hand with Graham beside them when the younger Dunne stops, his eyes fixed on the stage.
His eyes follow in search of what made him stop, the figure of the blonde keyboardist singing along with the band is what your eyes see, instantly your body withers, feeling vulnerable as your feelings were completely exposed.
“Keep dreaming Peaches.” Warren teases his friend, and then turns around to show the place to his girl.
You were trying your best to understand how you got here, standing next to the payphone you were trying to hide how upset you were with all of this. You were silent since everyone had agreed to call Karen into the band, you weren't against her at all, but there was something that made you sad about all of this.
“I'll be right back” You mutter, retreating out of the diner with a cigarette in hand. It selfish to think that you were being replaced, you knew it, but the pain on your chest made you want to scream with this situation.
“Are you okay sweetie?” You jump in fright at Camila's voice behind you, coughing from smoke.
“Yeah, why do you ask?” Between coughs you ask, trying to hide your nuisance and overcome the burning sensation in your lungs.
“You just left and please don't get me wrong but you look upset” Out of nowhere Warren's girlfriend joins you, and you get scared once again.
“Could you guys stop scaring me?” You laugh small with your hand on your chest. "I'm fine, let's go back inside.”
And next thing you know, there was a big change for you to handle.
Karen wasn't the problem itself, but the way Graham's eyes lighted up everytime she opened her mouth or the way he can't stop the smile on his face when she enters the room. The problem was the ache growing on your chest when you witnessed those moments, the way your brain knew how that would never be you no matter how hard you tried.
Things were going great, you had an amazing hit and gradually you felt the band finally going the way you stopped when Billy left for rehab. But somehow even when you put all your efforts to see things on the bright side the feeling came back, it was eating you alive second by second.
You made your way downstairs to grab something to eat when you see Graham and Karen ready for something, desperately you check the clock thinking you somehow lost track of time.
“I thought Billy's housewarming party was at eight…” Eddie let out the question you were repeating in your mind, you gladly thank him in thought.
“And it is, she just asked us to come early and help them get ready.” Graham explains.
“And also take care of Julia.” Sirko adds, you hold the urge to scream in frustration.
“So I'll see you guys later.” The younger Dunne says goodbye to Roundtree with a handshake and smiles at you before leaving.
You rest your body on the sofa, exhausted, resting your head on the shoulder of the bassist next to you. He doesn't dare move,
Knowing what kind of comfort you would like at the moment, he's content to be by your side.
“Is exhausting, I know…” He says under a breath, his eyes fixed on the wall in front of you.
You don't answer, and he takes that opportunity to go on. “It feels like it won't ever stop hurting but eventually, you get used to it.” He lets out with a chuckle, getting a small smile from you.
“I don't even know if I can handle this party anymore.” You complain, covering your face with both hands.
“Don't worry, Warren and I will have you back.” He nudges you with one of his elbows, and you feel lighter with them.
“Like Warren will give me attention after his girlfriend arrived from that job trip.” Eddie laughs, knowing this is very likely.
“You know I've been in love before, with someone pretty impossible…”
“Camila” I say, he suddenly stops.
“What? No.” His cheeks flush.
“It's Camila!” You say arching your eyebrows
“It doesn't matter, okay?” He rolls his eyes. “The thing is, it passes… you'll be fine.”
This time you stay in silence
The party was great, even though you didn't find a specific group to join and spend time with, your company was enough for you. Suddenly you are taken by surprise as the lights go out, every room is filled with small conversations while some look for the root of the problem. You search in the darkness for Camila or anyone else in the band, trying to understand what was happening.
Your eyes see Eddie and Camila lighting some candles, you smile and leave them be. You hear crying coming from the rooms above, and worried you go towards the sound.
You find Julia crying in her crib, you take her with you downstairs trying to find Billy somewhere. Turning down some corridors you come across Graham and Karen kissing, Your body freezes and your eyes widen, you feel your heart break into mine in your chest as if a rope is tying a knot around it.
All you can think about is running away, but the child in your lap is something that holds you there. You take a deep breath, desperately looking for Billy and when you find him it's a matter of time before the tears escape your eyes. The older Dunne doesn't ask, he just picks up his daughter and watches you make your way through the crowd.
You struggle to find a corner quiet and private enough to let it all go, you open the beer you had picked up and drink it all in a few sips, feeling the alcohol rip through your throat as you open another one.There was nothing more frustrating than this feeling of incapacity, vulnerability and, above all, rejection. You feel the air leave your lungs as the crying begins, you try your best to keep your crying down but it becomes more and more difficult.
“Hey, what happened? Are you okay?” Eddie finds you, “I saw you running” He waits for your answer, but you just cry. “Everything will be fine, I'm here with you” He holds you, you let him hold you as you fall apart.
“I can't deal with this.” You bury your face on his chest, upset and feeling ashamed.
“Let me take you home.” He asks, holding your hand as he helps you up. “I'm sure Camila will understand why we're leaving.”
“Don't! Please don't tell her.” The tears fall slowly on your face. “The fact that you see me like this is already too humiliating."
“Humiliating?” He seems confused, a little bit hurt as he guides you to the car. “You don't have to be always strong with me. I'm here for you, you can cry all you want.”
As his car makes its way to your house you watch the street in silence, your eyes filling with tears every time you remembered what you had seen.
“I just.” You begin to say, crying a little. “I can't help but feel this way.”
“I know what it looks like.” He whispers, turning the car to another direction.
“Where are you going?”
“I think you don't want to stay at the house with them, what about we spend the night on the beach?” You look at him, your teary eyes curious.
“What?”
“Just walk around, swim and talk.” He knows you feel pretty comfortable at the beach, so he's looking for something that will make you feel okay.
“That sounds fun, thank you.” You try your best to smile, the car parks at the beach.
Eddie helps you walk up some rocks so you can watch the waves better, you feel the cold breeze against your body and it makes you feel a little more alive, of course, things weren't fine and far from feeling better… but not impossible to go through.
“Thank you for this.” You say in a whisper, closing your eyes as you rest your head on Roundtree's shoulder.
“Just like I always told you, you will never be alone as long as I'm here”

1967 - "well did she make you cry?"
Currently, you were sandwiched between Eddie and Warren on an old, worn out loveseat. It was a tight squeeze; Eddie's arm was over the back of your shoulders and hanging around your neck, Warrens were folded across his chest and yours were sat neatly in your lap, your thighs pressing firmly against Eddie and less so against Warren. You were practically cuddled into them both, but non of you minded, you'd spent years ending up like this at stupid house party's.
The Pittsburgh party scene wasn't the most fun or amazing, but considering it was one of the only things to do in town, you'd take what you could get. And what you could get usually consisted of a drink and a smoke with the same 4 people your already knew just in someone else's house. Tonight was no different.
Until someone you didn't recognise started making eye contact with you from across the room. The tall, handsome, blond must have been someone's cousin, or a friend from out of town, but you knew that - combined with the fact he kept staring at you - gave you the perfect in.
Suddenly, you placed your hand on Eddie's knee, using it to push yourself up off the couch and began walking in the blonds direction without a word of warning to Eddie or Warren who were watching you curiously. As they saw you approach the stranger, placing a hand on his bicep and letting him place a hand on the small of your back within seconds of conversing, Eddie loudly scoffed.
"What is that about?" Eddie asked Warren, removing the joint from between his lips after taking a long drag. "Who even is that? Does she know who's she's talking to? What is he's a psycho, or something?"
"Why?" Warren turned to his friend, one leg propped up on the couch now that he had the space to, a wicked grin on his face. "Jealous?"
Eddie didn't answer the question, instead his gaze moved back to the scene before him. The two of you had somehow gotten closer together in the 10 seconds he wasn't looking, the guys arm now fully wrapped around you.
"I'm gonna do something about it." Eddie put out his joint in the ashtray next to your abandoned beer, leaving Warren dumbfounded on the couch as he went to approach you and this guy you were getting way too friendly with for his liking.
So caught up in his own desire to stop things, Eddie didn't hear Warren's call to back off, only stopping when the brunette grabbed his arm and pulled him to a halt.
"What do you think you're doing?" Warren seethed the whisper, so close to you now that he didn't want you to hear and see Eddie's stupid plan in action. "Leave her alone, it's not your choice to make."
"Sure as hell is, guys probably a douche."
"And you're not going to be?" Warren asked, grabbing Eddie's biceps and turning him to fully face him. "If you do this, she's gonna be upset with you."
"She'll get over it." Eddie reassured, stepping away from Warren's hold and turning to you and the blonde, putting on his best smile. "Besides, the guys probably no good, I'm doing her a favour."
"Hey babe, who's your friend?" Eddie slung an arm over your shoulder, pressing a kiss to your temple, and offered his hand out to the blond with kind smile.
"Will." The blond hesitantly answered, shaking the hand Eddie had offered to him.
"Eddie. I see you've met my wonderful, sexy girlfriend." Eddie pulled you tighter into his side as he emphasised his words, clearly eyeing you up and down - basically stripping you with his eyes for all that matters - in front of the poor guy who'd just wanted to talk to you.
And that was the end of that.
Will walked away from you with a frown and Eddie dragged you back to the couch with a wide smile on his face, ignoring how you tried to push away from him and blocking out your complaints about his actions. After a few minutes, you'd seemingly forgotten about Will, cuddling back into Eddie and pressing up against Warren as you had before, though this time you plucked Eddie's drink from his hand and joint from his lips, claiming them as your own.
You were going to be the sweet, sweet death of him.
1969 - "make you break down?"
Billy was getting sick of the fact you kept missing rehearsal to hang out with your partner. He couldn't understand why, like him, you'd didn't just bring them to practice, or like the other boys, not have one so it wasn't a distraction. So, he was quite surprised so see you'd appeared in Chuck's driveway, hands curled into fists and tears brimming your eyes when just an hour ago you'd all but begged him to let you skip.
"Y/n?" Billy asked through the microphone, everyone's instruments coming to stop as they took note of your presence. "What are you doing here?"
Normally, Billy would make some teasing comment about how he was glad you'd changed your mind, but with the way you stormed towards him, he decided against it, not wanting to invoke your wrath further. However, to his surprise, you stormed right past him, waking up to Eddie and shoving him as hard as you could.
"You fucking dick!" Another shove.
"I can't believe you!" Another shove, this time into the side of Warren's drum set, to which Graham put down his guitar and wrapped one arm across you, pulling you to his chest and keeping you still. "You're a fucking piece of shit, Eddie."
Eddie put down his own guitar, turning to you with a very confused and very hurt look. He couldn't seem to place exactly why you'd be lashing out on him, what had he done?
"Steve broke up with me just now." You seethed, trying to wiggle your way out of Graham's arms to get another push, or even a slap, in. You had no doubt he deserved it. "And you know what he told me?"
You didn't wait for an answer. "That you, Eddie, told him he had to, or else 'Billy Dunne and his boys' would go after him."
"I never agreed to that." Billy defended, raising  his hands palm up in an effort to convey his lack of involvement in Eddie's antics.
"I'm just doing it to help you, birdie." Eddie defend, trying to approach you, though quickly halting in his motions when you tried to lunge for him again. "The guy was a fucking dick."
"Yeah, well, that was my decision to make, shithead." You pulled your self from Graham's arms, turning away from Eddie because you didn't entirely trust yourself to look at him right now. "I'm not going to be at practice for the next few days, understood?"
Billy nodded shakily at you, not wanting to go against you invade you lunged for him next. "Understood."
"And you?" You turned to Eddie, pointing an accusing finger at the blond while maintaining your distance, knowing if you stayed much longer you'd start spitting insults you were bound to regret. "Stay the fuck away from me."
Warren was quick to follow after you when you stormed out of chucks garage, his drum sticks stuffed in his back pocket as he stood, and a disapproving shake of his head sent Eddie's way.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Graham asked, his hand running over his face in frustration. "You've been doing this since we were kids, when are you going to leaver her alone?"
"Dude was a fucking dick." Eddie answered, pulling an unused joint out from where'd he'd tucked it behind his ear, lighting it and quickly bringing it to his lips. "I was doing her a favour."
"Like she said herself, it's up to her to make that choice man." Graham was greatly disappointed in his friend; he understood why he wanted to chase every guy that came into contact with you out of town, but it wasn't fair to you, not in the slightest.
Graham left the garage, turning to see you crying frustratedly in Warren's arms at the end of the drive. With a quick jog down the stone drive, he was at your side, placing a hand tentatively on your back, causing you to turning into his arms with a sob.
Knowing the boys since practically birth, you'd all became quite attached and dependent on each other, and while you mostly felt like one big group of siblings, Eddie's feelings for you had always been different. And luckily for you he had the shittiest way of showing it.
"'Billy Dunne and his boys'." Chuck scoffed, the next to start edging out of the garage to come and check on you. "I'm sorry but have you seen us? Billy could've roughed him up but the rest of us would be dead meat."
Eddie rolled his eyes, taking a long drag from his joint and moving his gaze down to the floor. He truly believed he was doing you a favour, and that he had only the best intentions at heart, but he really didn't have the right way of showing that to you.
"She'll get over it." He dismissed once more with a shake of his head, staring at the group hug that had formed at the bottom of the drive, save for him and Billy.
"One day she won't." Billy chastised, his comment on the matter surprising Eddie. "And your going to pay the price of your shitty actions."
"That's rich coming from you." Eddie tapped his joint between his fingers, letting the burnt up but fall to floor in which he crushed it out under his boot. "Everything's going to be fine."
And it was - three days later - when he showed up on your doorstep with flowers. He'd called in to a flower shop in the centre of town, asked for a custom made arrangement of their finest baby's breath, daisies and tulips (all your favourites), and picked up a case of your favourite beer on the drive over.
He wasn't typically one for apologies, but he knew he had to, especially considering that you had stuck to your word of not showing up to practice and Billy hadn't batted an eye at your absence.
While it took a lot of convincing to get you to open the door, when you did, he'd put on his best smile, offered you the flowers, and told you he'd get on his knees if he had to. Eventually you'd cracked a smile, asking him if he wanted to come in and work through the six pack with you, and two beers in you admitted that he had been right.
The rest of your evening was spent with you telling Eddie how much of a dick Steve was and how happy you were that you weren't together anymore, and with Eddie trying to refrain from smiling too hard, worried that if you saw, you'd revoke your forgiveness and kick him out.
Part of him wished Billy had been there, to rub it in his face that, once again, you had forgiven him and ended up back in his arms. Just like he wanted.
He was certain you didn't know the effect you had on him, and if you did, he thought, you were simply cruel.
1971 - "shatter your illusions of love?"
The band was taking off. Not majorly, but in a way that had the people of Pittsburgh and nearby towns stopping you in the street to commend you on your work in the band. The manager Billy had put you all up with was suggesting you moved to LA as your sound was beginning to take off, but you were finding it hard to part with Pittsburgh.
Chuck wasn't coming to LA, but the rest of the band already seemed to have one foot out of the door. Pittsburgh had been your home all your life, moving to LA was new and scary and what if things went wrong? What if the band didn't take off and you ended up in LA, stranded, working some dead end job you could've just worked in the comfort of the familiarity of your home town?
Camilla wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling your head to rest against hers with a loving smile. "Penny for your thoughts."
"I'll give you a quarter if you can take them away and make them stop." The beautiful brunette laughed at your attempt to crack a joke. It was clear that the move was tormenting you. You'd arrived at the Dunne residence at 6:00am that morning, with a box in hand and a bag on your back claiming it was all your earthly belongings to take to LA, and you'd dumped them next to Grahams, taking residence on the porch steps ever since.
Eddie had arrived a few hours after you, with just a duffle bag to his name and quickly thrown it in the truck of the car. He'd spent all day helping the others pack their things and put them in the trunk without so much as a 'hi' to you, who he'd walked past at least a dozen times.
"It's just hard, y'know." Camilla, too, had lived in this town all her life, she, just like you, was leaving everything behind and putting all her faith in this band. "Seems like everyone else is dying to get out." You knocked your head against hers gently, reaching up for her hand that hung around your neck and squeezing if. "Is it bad that I want to stay?"
"It's human." Camilla answered earnestly, squeezing your hand back in return.
"You getting in the car, or gonna continue stealing my girl?" Billy yelled from the passenger seat, Eddie behind the wheel and Warren and Graham piled in the back between the boxes.
Camilla's eyes met yours and a silent conversation was held, while it wasn't too late for you to return to your childhood house, you knew, deep down that LA - the band - was what you wanted. The two of you walked towards the car hand in hand, climbed into the back and waved a last goodbye to Mrs Dunne.
Your squeezed yourself between Warren and the back of Eddie's chair, letting yourself get lost in thought as the long drive commenced.
It wasn't until 6 hours in that you came to a halt, everyone going into the gas station, and returning to the car to find things rearranged. Billy had taken over at the wheel with Camilla next to him, and Eddie had taken your position with his side pressed into the back of the drivers seat. You wasted no time in getting into the vehicle and into Eddie's side, who had opened his arm to you the second you climbed into the car.
You rested your head on his shoulder, hugging into his side with both your arms wrapped around him. Every time he offered you a hit of the joint he'd lit up, you took it, only taking small slow drags of it, really not in the mood but not wanting to not accept Eddie's kind offer.
It wasn't until you dropped to sleep on his shoulder that he moved his gaze to you, wherein it stayed until he himself fell asleep, his head resting lightly atop your own and his fingers tightly intertwined with yours.
When you woke before him hours later, you finally got to revel in the quiet, loving side of Eddie, enjoying the simple feelings of his head against yours and his fingers intertwined with your own. It was moments like these that truly made his sometimes plainly indecent attitude worth it.
The blond only began to wake as your hair made its way into his hair, scratching gently at his scalp in a way that had him fighting off sleep as soon as he dared open his eyes.
You had his heart in your hands and you didn't even truly know it.
1974 - "and is it over now, do you know how?"
"I hope, if I have a baby, she's as beautiful as Julia." You hummed, rocking the baby back and forth in your arms, one hand gently supporting her head while the other cradled her tiny body. "I'm serious Cami. She's unreal."
Camilla only leant her head against your shoulder in response, pressing a quick kiss to it in a thank you.
Julia's first Christmas had come around quick, and it was impossible to know where the time had gone. You would swear down that only yesterday you and Camilla walked hand in hand into the car, and now she had her own baby that had grown and been born and grown some more. If you weren't so captivated by the way her tiny hands grabbed for your fingers, you would've complained that it made you feel old.
As Camilla left your side at the call of her name, Eddie joined it, wrapping an arm around your waist while the other held his drink. He offered you a sip, but you shook your head, not wanting to potentially spill anything on the new-born.
"Isn't she beautiful?" You asked him, looking up from the sweet baby girl to find him already looking at you so, so fondly. Like you'd handcrafted the world and hung the stars in the sky.
"Yeah, she is." You knew he wasn't talking about Julia, but you'd let it slide this time, turning back to the baby as she pulled on your finger with more strength then you'd expected.
"I want a baby one day, maybe."
"Yeah?" Eddie asked, his fingers curling into your side and pulling you closer to him. "I'm sure we can make that work."
"We?" Snapping your head up to meet his gaze once more, you were semi-surprised to find a look of complete sincerity on the blonds face. Since when had he stopped being the best friend who chased all your lovers away and become this; the best friend who you wouldn't exactly deny the chance of spending the rest of your life with?
"Yeah, we." He answered, quickly and genuinely, as if it was the most simple answer in the entire realm of answers he could've given. "You, me, a baby. Somewhere in the hills. A big house, white picket fence, a couple of dogs. Sounds good to me."
Stunned to silence, you didn't move, not until Camilla called your name with the added quick command to 'smile.' Billy was quick to take the baby off of you after the photo was taken, claiming he needed yet another photo with his baby girl and he couldn't wait any longer. You weren't one to disagree.
Looping your arms around Eddie's neck, you flashed him your most flirtatious smile, pressing your chests together and attempting to get as close as you could to him. "You and me, huh?"
Eddie only nodded in response, knocking his head gently against yours and holding it there; your foreheads pressed together and breath hitting each others lips. All he would have to do is move half an inch closer and his lips would touch yours; but he wasn't going to do that tonight. Not in front of all your friends, not when he'd drunk slightly more then he should've and not when he'd been thinking about it since middle school. He'd waited over a decade, he could wait a little while longer, he decided.
"You and me." Eddie confirmed, using his hold on your waist to sway the two of you slowly back and forth to the Christmas music that played throughout Camilla and Billy's house. "Just like always."
"Unfortunately, I've already made those exact plans with Graham, so maybe next time."
Eddie pushed you away from him with an over the top pout, grumbling about how he knew you hated him and how this was years worth of Karma coming to bite him in the ass. And if it weren't for the way he was too busy admiring your head thrown back, eyes crinkled and cheeks dimpled in laughter, then maybe he'd have turned up the dramatics.
Oh, he was completely, royally fucked.
1976 - "pick up the pieces"
"C'mon Eddie, you can tell us, we'll still love you the same."
You'd been sat across from Eddie and Warren for the past hour since you'd got back to the tour bus, groupies crammed into every nook and cranny conceivable. So far, 4 different girls had tried it on with Eddie, and he'd turned down every single one, leading Warren and Karen to poking and prodding at him to find out why exactly that way.
"It's the 70's, dude, free love and all that shit." Warren explained with a pat to Eddie's chest, bursting into laughter at the thought alone. Eddie just frowned, not wanting to say anything about the two of you like you had agreed - he loved you so much he wanted to shout it from rooftops, but he loved you enough to keep the secret like you agreed.
He didn't understand why you'd keep it secret; not when everyone knew he'd been pining after you since middle school. But you were too worried it'd change the dynamics of the band, that people would just start to see you as the bassists girlfriend and not your own person. Eddie respected that and, knowing how important it was to you, he knew that people knowing about your relationship could wait.
"Now that I think about it." Karen added from next to you, Graham's arm wrapped around her waist. "I don't think I've seen you get your dick wet once on this tour, are you sure it still works?"
That caused laughter to echo through out the tour bus, band and groupies alike laughing at the suggestion that something was wrong with Eddie. Your Eddie. The mocking alone was enough to have you breaking your agreement, but the absolute crestfallen look on his face, told you what you were about to do was right.
"His dick works fine, thank you." You snapped, looking only at Eddie as you spoke, no one else's opinion mattered now, only his, on what you were doing. "We've been together since new years of '74. You've all just been so far up your own asses that you didn't notice."
Silence settled over the group before Graham burst out laughing, followed quickly by Warren and Karen. "I'm sorry, but there's just no way." Graham laughed, a hand pressed to his chest as he tried to regain his breath, completely thrown for a loop by your sudden confession. "Eddie's been in love with you since middle school, there's no way he'd finally open up to you about it - he'd have done so a decade ago if that were the case."
"You don't believe me?" You scoffed, standing from your seat next to Karen and taking the two steps to stand in front of Eddie, quickly lowering yourself into his lap. His hands held the back of your thighs as your arms moved over his shoulders, one hand cradling the back of his neck while the other tangled into his hair. "Fine."
You didn't waste another second, grinding down into Eddie's lap as you moved into a kiss, pulling and tugging and kissing and sucking in a way too public display of affection. Eddie squeezed at your thigh and when you gasped slipping his tongue past your lips, making the kiss be some sloppier and more desperate as each moment went on. He was quick to stand from his seat, you wrapping your legs around his waist and allowing him to blindly carry you into the back of the tour bus, wherein you could continue your activity in a more private setting.
The group you'd left behind were stunned into silence, each looking at each other lost as to what to say. Eventually, the conversation carried on, but silence continued to consume them whenever they heard a particularly loud moan, or the bus shook a little. How they'd missed it? They'd never know. But that didn't matter, you and Eddie were far too happy about not having to hide things to care about what they thought.
1977 - "and go home"
Tears brimmed your eyes as you moved to the front of the stage, hand in hand with the band as you said your final goodbye. No one had said that yet, that this was the end, but you knew, deep down that it was. Things couldn't continue like this.
You were stood between Eddie and Warren, your two favourite boys, and gripping their hands tightly, bowing low and long before the last audience you may ever see.
Maybe the girl who sat on the Dunne brothers porch steps, unsure if it was worth leaving Pittsburgh would laugh at you now, tell you she'd been right and that everything had gone to shit eventually. But 8 years on, you couldn't have been more grateful for Camilla taking your hand and bringing you to the car.
You had experienced a life that others only dreamed of, one that seemed like a fantasy - it had been real and it had been yours. That was enough.
One by one, the band moved off the stage, listening to the sounds of applause and cheers from their fans as they left. You and Eddie were the last to go, being the furthest from the stage exit, you decided to put on one final show.
You grabbed Eddie by the lapels of his stunning white suit, whispering into his ear. "You look good up on the stage, hot stuff. Gonna miss seeing you like this."
"You can see me everyday." Eddie replied, caressing your face with his hand and holding it against your jaw. "We got a nice house up in the hills to find and some kids to start having." He tilted your jaw up and closer to his, his lips brushing over yours in a featherlight graze. "Unless you still plan on doing that with Graham."
"Shut up."
You closed the gap between you, kissing him hot and hard for the whole of Chicago - and by the next morning, the whole world - to see. The crowd went wild at the scene, that you quickly ended, giving a final bow before running off the stage hand in hand.
As you ran into the wings, you didn't spare a thought to the life you were leaving behind, instead only focusing on the life you and Eddie had planned for yourself - and how awesome that would be.

On October 4, 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six performed to a sold out crowd at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. They were one of the biggest bands in the world at the time, fresh off their award-winning, multi-platinum selling album “Aurora.” It would be their final performance.
In the 20 years since, members of the band and their inner circle have refused to speak on the record about what happened… Until now.
THE RISE OF THE SIX (1966-1972)
The Six started out as a blues-rock band called the Dunne Brothers in the mid-sixties out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Billy and Graham Dunne were raised by single mother, Marlene Dunne, after their father, William Dunne Sr., left in 1954.
BILLY DUNNE (lead singer, The Six): I always dreamed of something different than the typical laid out career paths. When Graham first got the idea to start a band, I assumed it was just to win back his girlfriend. He was, what fourteen? The kid thought his life was over. [Laughs] I guess in retrospect, maybe it was a good idea.
WARREN ROJAS (drummer, The Six): He was definitely trying to get his girlfriend back.
GRAHAM DUNNE (lead guitar, The Six): We were solid, fine for a while. When Chuck quit, we were out a bassist, which isn’t really something you can do without in a band. Billy originally wanted Eddie to switch to bass, but he wasn’t too keen on that.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE (rhythmic guitar, The Six): I was so sick of Billy trying to run the band, it wasn’t his band, or at least, it wasn’t supposed to be.
WARREN ROJAS: There was this girl in my math class, her uncle owned a music store downtown, and she used to give lessons to kids on weekends, it was mostly just some scheme by her uncle to get people to buy guitars.
BILLY DUNNE: She was a sophomore, a young sophomore at that, she wasn’t even 16 by the time she joined, I was a year out of high school and the rest of the boys are creeping on 17 and 18, she just didn’t fit. Warren gets all the boys on board before bringing the idea up to me so I look like the asshole if I say no, I wanted to say no too, but she was good and I didn’t have another option.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: She didn’t even show an interest in being in the band, she wasn’t begging us to give her a chance, we were near-stalking her at the music store, waiting for the perfect opportunity to hear her play and casually bring up that we happened to need a bassist.
JULIET OPAL (bassist/singer, The Six): They weren’t nearly as sly as they thought they were. I originally thought it was some attempt at stealing records or 8-tracks, y’know waiting until I wasn’t looking, but they kept coming back, seemingly just waiting for me to do something, what it was I didn’t know, but something.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: [Sighs] They decided I would be the one to talk to her.
The shop’s bell rang, signaling the door had been opened, which swung Juliet’s attention away from the magazine she was skimming and up to the front of the store, peering through the aisles to see who entered. A boy, one she recognized from the creeping on her from the previous weeks, made himself visible and she was immediately on high alert. He approached the counter, swallowing nerves as he did, and cleared his throat.
“Hi,” his voice was hoarse, she took the awkward silence as a moment to study him, he wore a striped shirt, loose jeans, and brown shoes, his hair could use a comb through. He extended his hand, “I’m Eddie, I think we go to school together.”
“Juliet,” she met his hand, “is that why you’re here, to tell me that we might go to school together? Or is there an ulterior motive, one that may explain why you and your friends have been spying on me the past week,” any speck of confidence Eddie had going into this was entirely gone.
“I’m in a band with some friends and our bassist bailed on us pretty recently. My friend, Warren, he’s a junior like me, I think he’s in your math class, said he saw you play bass and that you were good. We just wanted to see you play before we formally asked.”
“Formally asked what?” She leaned up from her elbows that she had been propped on.
“Oh, to, uh, like,” he stopped himself, licking his lips and sighing, “would you want to maybe play bass for us?” His eyes instantly went to his shoes and he stuffed his hands inside his pockets.
“Can I have a little more info maybe? It’s not personal, I just don’t know you, like at all and you could be the worst players for all I know.”
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: That one hurt, something about a younger kid who you have a solid five inches on insinuating that she’s better than you are, especially when you’re practically on your knees begging for her to help you out can feel like salt being rubbed into a fresh wound.
JULIET OPAL: What else was I supposed to do? [Laughs] Just blindly follow the older boy who had been spying on me for a week to the alleged garage that he practices in with his alleged band and hope for the best? I paid attention in the stranger-danger assemblies, I knew better.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: I invited her back to Billy and Graham’s but she said she had to close up for her uncle. Once we were out in L.A. she told me she actually just didn’t wanna leave with me and in hindsight, I can’t say I blame her.
The following morning Juliet and the Dunne Brothers skipped their first period and met in the Dunne’s garage. Juliet studied the wads of scribbled sheet music Billy had handed to her without looking her in the eye and she didn’t miss the way Eddie rolled his eyes at his hostility, and Eddie didn’t miss the way her upper lip curled into a smile as she saw his reaction.
After rifling through the stack of papers, she picked out one at random, and set it down on the table in front of her, leaning over to scan in a few times before pulling the strap of her guitar over her head. She looked over to the group of boys, standing huddled together with Billy noticeably further away and Warren nodded fervently at her with a grin overtaking her face.
After she played through the song, Billy made her play another, and another, and two more after that ‘for safety.’ Once he had run out of excuses for her to keep playing, he asked her to step out of the garage so they could confer with each other. After seven minutes and two overheard “c’mon man”s from Warren, Juliet was invited back into the garage and to serve as a temporary bass for the band, just until Billy could come to his final decision.
JULIET OPAL: He was stubborn even then, I’m honestly surprised he let me in.
BILLY DUNNE: I didn’t want to let her in the band.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: I wanted her in the band, I made sure Billy knew that.
JULIET OPAL: A week after I joined, we were playing a gig with the Winters.
The group stood backstage, listening to the music that was permeating into every corner of the room. Juliet stood sandwiched between Warren and Camila, listening to the band. They had a keyboardist, she caught Juliet’s eye once they had got backstage, when they finished playing and she got offstage, Juliet made a beeline for her, introducing herself.
“I’m Karen,” she introduced herself, “you play with these guys?”
“Mhm, I’m on bass right now, but in an ideal world I’d steal Eddie over there’s job,” she pointed to him and he smiled back, nodding his head up at her, unknowingly, “I won’t though, kinda like him, at least more than I do Billy,” Karen nodded, opening her mouth to excuse herself from the conversation, “y’know I’ve been saying we need a keyboardist.”
“Have you now?” That piqued her interest she stopped in her tracks and smirked over her shoulder.
“No,” she admitted, “but I’ve been thinking it.” Billy hollered her name, gesturing her over to the group, who were making their way onstage. She pulled a receipt with a phone number scribbled across it in black ink and handed it to Karen, “If you ever get sick of them, give me a call, I’ll put in a good word for you.”
“Do you always carry around drug store receipts with your phone number on them?”
“You never know who you might meet,” she shrugged and started sprinting towards the stage before calling out over her shoulder, “worked out this time. Wish me luck!”
KAREN SIRKO (keyboardist, The Six): She was so.. vivacious, so full of life. She apoke about a million miles a minute, if I wasn’t fully interested in what she was saying, I don’t think I would’ve caught a word of it. You have this young girl talking your ear off, she seems entirely sure of herself, but also still feels a need to prove to you that she deserves to be there.
JULIET OPAL: I liked Karen, how could I not? And based on the way events would play out, clearly I wasn’t the only one.
WARREN ROJAS: It was a great gig, Julie did great, not that we weren’t expecting her to, we were just worried about her, she had never done anything in front of a crowd before, but she did everything that actually counted right.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: On the drive home she sat next to me and she told me I played well, then she leaned in and kinda whispered and she thanked me. She thanked me for being the one to ask her to join because she would’ve said no to anyone else. [Smiles]

dark paradise (Billy dunne x reader)
Tumblr media
requested by anon~
Warnings: lots of profanities, my writing kinda being mean to Camila, (but yk I wrote a fic about reader and Camila cheating on Billy.)
A/N: THIS IS SOOOO LONGG and I don't really like it but it's inspired by the lana del rey song so that's good!
"I love you." The beautiful tall brunette boy said as he looked down on you.
You were stunned, you didn't know what to say or do, you just stood there and let that beautiful man put his beautiful veiny hands on your now flushed face.
      "I love you too Billy." You said acting dumb, trying to convince yourself this really wasn't happening, that your best friend since you were five wasn't confessing his love to you.
You knew that this was probably going to happen one day. a young boy and girl just don't bond together over their love of music and emotionally unavailable fathers without just staying friends. It doesn't happen.
      "No y/n, I love you. I'm in love with you." His expression and tone getting stronger by the minute.
This couldn't be happening.
          It was happening, you knew it was happening but you wanted peace. It was too much. you just wanted a friend somebody to bond with and talk with without the complicated ways of feelings and emotions.
         You didn't need somebody to kiss.
                  You needed somebody to listen.
"Billy-" you said trying to hide back tears.  "I can't, you know that."
"You can't or you won't?" As the now angered brunette finished that sentence you began to think about all the things you've heard about Billy in a relationship and what he's like with girls. Sure, it hurt, but Billy was a well known player of your home town and if you two ever ended up together neither of you can promise he wouldn't treat you like that.
"That's not fair Billy. That's not fucking fair and you know it!" You said finally raising your voice making Billy jump a little surprised from never really hearing you get mad.
You two have had this conversation before, of how you're done with dating and how men are pigs who only want one thing. But sure, he didn't say anything so he probably doesn't fucking remember.
"This isn't fair Y/n! This isn't fucking fair!" The shaggy brunette said, finally yelling at you. "I have been in love with you since forever and you fucking know it! And you have known it so stop acting so fucking dumb and come to your senses for once!"
"You know what Billy? We're done. This is done! This friendship is fucking over!" And you finally yelling back.
"This never fucking started!" You pushed past him as you grabbed your stuff and exited out of his room making your way towards his front door.
"That was a fucking dumb thing to say to Dunne."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two of you haven't talked in months and he hasn't seen you in months.
The Dunne Brothers were getting more gigs and more attention and so was Billy.
So it wasn't surprising when you found out from the younger peachier Dunne brother that he never found out that you had moved to LA but what you were surprised about was when you found out he was dating Camila. I mean yeah, Billy dunne is one to move on quickly but the last thing you heard it was a pretty good committed relationship.
The younger Dunne brother was updating you on daily important things that happened surprisingly the two of you grew pretty close. But one thing that peaches forgot to mention was that the band was moving to the city of angels YOUR city of angels, until the very last minute when they needed somewhere to stay.
"NO NO NO GRAHAM!"
"Ohhhh come on y/n!!" Graham said extending your name making you know he was giving you puppy eyes over the phone.
"Graham?" He hummed back.
"Why can't you buy your own place? AND WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE BAND MOVING TO LA?!
"Well, we kinda dont have much money right now… and we knew you lived here so we wanted to see if you had a place for us to stay! " he said in the sweet Dunne voice "and I didnt wanna freak you out when you out about us and Billy moving here and we thought we would never see you again!"
"Okay well now I'm freaking out about two things!"
"Y/n. Please?"
"Fuck, fine fine shit, I have this place up in Laurel Canyon that I was living in with these people when I first moved here but they all moved out and I got stuck with it, but then sadly the old woman who was living with us died so it's mine now. But its not much, and it only has 4 bedrooms, but there is a shed that has toilet in the corner of the room so whoeve whats it can have it." You said finishing your sentence with a slight chuckle trying to forgot that you have to deal with seeing Billy dunne everyday.
"Yo peaches, what's going on man ?" Warren asked, making you remember his beautiful curly locks.
"She said yes!" You could hear all the cheers over the phone making you chuckle "Okay okay but it's haunted." Graham said shutting some of the cheers down making "oh's" from the band being heard making you chuckle once again.
But the only thing you had on your mind was Billy and how this was gonna work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You should come see us play!" Said the beautiful blond-haired keyboardist with the beautiful British accent.
"Oh i-" the eldest Dunne brother was having a self staring contest with the side of your face as he had the beautiful brunette Camila.
There was something about Camila that you hated. I mean it's not that you were jealous of her, I mean yeah you kinda were, but it's not because you wanted to be with Billy, it was because you were jealous of her ability not to be scared of Billy hurting her.
"Ummmm I don't know Karen, I'm…you know really busy, with work and… you know."
The band was finally getting their well needed time of fame, finally playing clubs on the strip, finally getting their names in the "right" mouths and their well Deserved attention.
Camila was so excited for Billy and the band, and so were you. But you knew Billy and you knew how his ego could get and you had a feeling fame and Billy Dunne was not a good mix.
“Yeah you should come Y/n.” Your thought bubble burst and your head turned as you heard Billy’s voice for the first time since the band and Camila moved here a month ago.
After those words came out of his month you couldn’t stop staring at him and realizing his beauty.
His beautiful chocolatey shagged covered hair.
His beautiful full cherry colored lips.
His beautiful light brown eyes.
His beautiful choice of wardrobe which usually consisted of blue jeans and a dark blue jeaned button up.
“Oh okay! I’ll go! I’ll go!” Accidentally looking BIlly straight in his beautiful eyes making you give in. “I’ve been wanting to go anyway to watch you guys perform.” Starting to let out a small chuckle has you thought about this memory. “I haven't seen you guys play since we were kids and you guys were still “the Dunne brothers”. You let out another small chuckle this time making Billy grin a little covering it up by looking over to Camila and giving her a passionate kiss to the cheek.
“Well, we're glad you're finally going Y/N, it's been long enough.” Said Camila from behind Billy making him jump like he forgot she was there because his eyes had been glued on you for too long.
You could hear a couple of yea’s coming from mostly Karen and Graham and then a surprising yawn being heard out of Warren. Or was it Eddie?
“Well shit, you guys I think I’m gonna head to bed. I’ll see you guys in the morning alright?” Warren.
“Yeah I think I’m gonna head to bed too.” Knowing that you weren’t tired and just needed an excuse to get out of here so you could stay up and think about this interaction for the rest of the night.
“Okay well, we’ll see you tomorrow night at the whisky?” Asked Karen with Graham next to her, giving you a cheeky smile.
“Yeah, I wouldn't miss it!” You said, trying your best to hide your worriedness about the situation.
As you headed to your room you were too worried about getting away from that living room and into the comfort of your room, you barely even noticed Billy grabbing your shoulders to whisper into your ears: “I’m glad your back kid.”
He was drunk. You could smell it on his skin.
You hated this, you hated this, you hated seeing him like this.
You hated seeing him. Period.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you stood in a dark sweaty club called the “whisky a go go” with Camila, (One you have been to many times since you moved to Los Angeles.) waiting for the band to start playing you couldn’t stop thinking about what Billy said last night. Sure, it was only the second sentence he said in almost 3 years, but still, it didn’t help he said it like you were his sister and it didn’t help that his girlfriend was right next to you.
You felt like it was going to sleep out of your tongue like you needed to wash your mouth out with soap to stop yourself from telling her.
You wanted to tell her you really did, but you just couldn't.
You knew she probably wouldn't care and knew what happened with Billy and you, and she seemed like a very understanding woman, but something about this whole situation was telling you to not say anything like you and Billy were really together, but you weren't.
"So y/n," Camila's voice whispered Into your ear to be overheard by all the voices in the club, but before she could finish the loud noises of the band starting up cut you off from having you engage in what would've been a very awkward conversation.
The whole place erupted in cheers Coming from the back of the club and the very front from where you and Camila were.
But you were too stunned from billys (yet again) drunken stance to say anything.
"God… evening!” Billy said, trying his best to stand up straight.
You cringed, you saw Graham cringe, you saw Camila smiling trying her best not to cringe or even cry. You didn’t blame her. One bit.
“We're the six! But you already knew that.” Billy muttered under his breather giving you a wink. You wanted to pull him off that damn stage before his ego could do anything stupid.
Before billy could give the cue for the band to start playing he interrupts himself after Graham gave him a look that makes him remember something.
“Ohhhh yeahhhh!” The drunk Dunne says with a slight chuckle expanding his words. “We wrote a new song for youuuu! Or well I did.” The brunette man said with another wink getting way too cocky for his own good, which made the basset roll his eyes so hard they were probably gonna fall out of his head.
As the band started up you saw Camila's face light up with confusion making her realize she has never heard this song before. Sure, it was a new song but billy always I mean always played new songs for her, because they were usually all about her.
As Billy started singing his voice sent chills down your whole body making you realize how much you missed this, how much you miss him, Billy’s voice had always been your favorite and probably Camila's favorite too.
As he started singing the first you didn’t think anything, but by the fifth you started questioning it and by Camila’s face so did she. The lyrics describe something only you would know and that Billy would only feel about you.
As you finally realized who and what the song was about, you chugged the last of your drink and grabbed your stuff and left.
As Billy noticed this (which was immediately.) he threw his mike stand down and quickly made his way off the stage chasing you before you could make it to the exit.
“GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME!” At the man as he dragged you backstage.
“Y/n-“ he said softly trying to get your attention.
“Billy what was that?!” You said still yelling at the beautiful wasted man.
He was gone for words so all that came out of his mouth was: "I love you."2nebv4
He sounded like he was gonna cry. It broke your heart.
"Billy-" you knew you loved him, you always had, you were just scared.
"Y/n please just tell me the truth!"
"That is the truth billy!"
"No it's not! I know it, you know it, the fucking band knows it!" At this point you knew you just needed to tell him the truth, so you did.
"Okay fine! You want the truth I'll fucking give you the truth, okay! I love you and I have always loved you! I love everything about you and it hurts it really hurts Billy! Too see you with these girls and then have you tell me you  love me! moving to LA to get away from Pittsburgh just to find the main reason I left living with me!" You said getting louder and louder knowing that probably everybody in the whole club could hear you. "Oh and worst of all seeing you every single day with these amazing beautiful sweet woman who will always be everything I'm not and then seeing you drunk every fucking-" The next thing you knew you were being caught off from your huge rant by Billy’s lips on top of yours.
The way you felt with Billy's lips on yours was a feeling you wanted to feel for the rest of your life, but sadly you pulled away realizing the state he was in.
You heard a sad hum coming from his lips.
"I know, but you're drunk."
"Hm okay." He said his face into your jean jacket.
As you started rubbing his back in sympathy you heard his muffled cries running down your Jean jacket.
"I love you so much" he said, making me realize I wanted this, I wanted to take care of him for the rest of my life.
