something about the progression of the threat of hell and who's acting as protector in the minisodes...

with Aziraphale feeling the threat of damnation in Job only for Crowley to protect him, saying he wont tell anyone, he wouldn't take him to hell

then Crowley knowing the threat of hell's punishment in Ediburgh, downing a vial of laudnum to try and remove his accountability of his good deed, but its not enough to protect him and Aziraphale sees him, dragged back to hell

and in 1941 when they are both powerless looking into the face of the weightiest threat hell has ever made again Corwley; Crowley doesn't have a plan - he covers his face and remain stone still to hide his panic in front of Furfur - but Aziraphale has a trick up his sleeve, he gets it right when it counts and steps up to protect Crowley

I can't help but think Edinburgh had a really big impact on Aziraphale stepping up and becoming more of an active protector of Crowley (rather than a passive one like we see in the Globe scene with Aziraphale warning Crowley against actions that would give hell a reason to punish him). Aziraphale always trusts Crowley to come through, to have a plan, to swoop in a save him. But in Edinbrugh he sees that Crowley's not always successful at protecting himself and thats a significant moment for Aziraphale

This movement towards Aziraphale being equally protective of Crowley as Crowley is of him is going so important in season 3

The historic legacy of your family tree, the history and institution, that you care nothing for and know nothing about, despite the fact that your family has singularly had 1000 years of influence (for good and bad) in the world, well, now, your children will never even have to know, understand or benefit from that rich inheritance. Oh, and the real soft power of the Monarchy, you know, the thing that draws the real movers, shakers and power brokers in the world to attend events, service their philanthropic endeavors and provide counsel and networking for their causes? Forget that, you are now free to rub shoulders with the Tyler Perry's, Oprahs, Ellens, Kardashians, and Abigail Spencers of the celeb-osphere. What a relief that must be. As he takes on the stress of being Monarch at the age of 74, you may not have too many years left to further twist the knife in him, so get busy, but hopefully, you won't be so hypocritical to actually pretend you did love him and attempt to attend his state funeral when he's gone. He won't know or believe you ever cared by then anyway. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and you've served it frozen.

The brother, the only other human alive who knew what it was like being Diana's child, living through all you did together, suffering the same grief, even if, as you claim, you were only born to stand in if he suffered a premature death or needed a spare organ, yeah, you've alienated him as well. The one contemporary who would ever really give you unconditional love, push it away. You don't need that in your life. And on your way out, lay down some heinous rumors, trash his reputation, only tell your side of your issues with him, and if that's not enough do the same to his wife, who treated you like a brother, then go for his children, your nieces and nephews. That will get him! Really give it to him, Harold, since it gives you a high like the ayahuasca you claim to use regularly, but remember, envy is one of the seven deadly sins.

Finally the Monarchy itself. The institution that has caused you so much paralysis in your life? You're now free of that as well, despite the fact that your Father is now head of the most prominent one in the world and that you have claimed Prince and Princess titles for your own children, well, have no fear. King Charles will never do it, but King William might release Letters Patent preventing issue who hold dual citizenship or live full-time in another country from holding those titles. Then you will be truly free, but why wait that long? Just become an American citizen yourself, you CAN renounce your own title and sever all ties with the evil UK. You have no home, work or family left there anyway. What is holding you back?

You have EVERYTHING you claim to have ever wanted. You have told us you are the most loyal and loving son of the only family member you ever really loved, your Mother. You have told us you are the most dedicated soldier ever to have served his country. Thank you for your service, btw. You have told us you are a better statesman, philanthropist, with a greater business sense than either your Grandmother, your Father or your Brother. You are married to the most beautiful woman in the world who is also the greatest actress, philanthropist, lifestyle influencer, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Even self described as "one of the most powerful women in the world." You have two beautiful and healthy children. Full stop. So go forth, prosper. Show us what YOU can do!

— we follow will and mike one year after the events of bmim, and mike seems to be a bit…. tense. it might be about his final journalistic assignment before becoming a full time author; assigned to write about ediburgh castle, the lovely couple decides to take a week trip to scotland! but mike just continues to appear more and more worried, a certain something weighing heavy in his pocket…. his nerves never seem to dissipate— and the resurgence of a very familiar face doesn’t help, either.

there will be some flashbacks to mike over the 7 years, and we get to see him arriving in ireland, as seen here,

“‘We don’t have you set for a reservation here till the 14th.’

A pause. Mike squinted his eyes, letting his head tilt forward slightly.

‘... I’m sorry?’

The secretary peered up toward him through the lenses of her cat eye glasses, bright red lips pressed into a thin line. She pushed away from the desk, rolled her wheeled chair across the way to the table where Mike presumed the reservation book was laying, and returned with a loud thwack. A manicured nail pointed at a box on the calendar.

‘The 14th, Mr. Wheeler. Next friday.’

Great. Absolutely fucking phenomenal – just what Mike needed, actually.

‘There must be some mistake—‘

‘No mistake, Mr. Wheeler. Not on our part, at least,’ She gave him a glance, and whatever she was looking for must have been written all over him with the way she tsked, ‘but maybe on your part.’”

The model press room from the top story of the writer's museum. It's more heavy duty than Stevenson's personal press, although I don't know that it's any more modern. Didn't get a sense for that. It may actually be older, given how long the Ballantyne press was in Ediburgh.

My maternal grandfather was a printer because all of the printers he knew lived long enough to retire, so this kinda has sentimental value. Also, while a very different sort of press, it reminds me of the boys on @alex51324 's Island.
