this is gonna be a long post (oh boy)

so!!!! Firstly I’m gonna start with dragon trainers/riders as a whole!! since that’s basically where the game starts 😼

Most people who want to become dragon trainers typically come from Origins, one of the most densely populated areas in Dragonaria (excluding the Undercity), mainly because of the high levels of Rocirus’ that are native to the realm. Origin’s weather and geography are very good for farming and general living, so it brandishes itself as the best place to be. (I’ll get into all the Realms later :3)

Most new trainers are younger, think similar to Pokémon’s age range (14-16), and their parents accompany them when attempting to buy or tame their first dragon. However, a young trainer’s first dragon can be perceived similar to someone’s first car, especially if the kid’s dream job is something like Tundra farming, and their parents will save up money to buy a Tundra egg for their kid’s first dragon.

The reasoning for the parent’s buying an egg is because nobody wants to try and get your kid a wild freaking Glacegar and watch it throw your child around like a ragdoll for their first time riding. Though finding eggs in the wild is an option, the mothers of these nests are typically fierce in defense of their offspring. So, we just go to the shop near the Worldcircle (world teleporter ykyk) and buy one for like, how much you’d expect a new car to cost.

Realm-skipping is typically frowned upon by older generations, though other younger trainers may or may not think having a Venu as your first dragon is the coolest thing ever (reminiscent to how beginners of the game typically treat other world dragons).

Most beginners start out with just an Origins egg though, and the process of incubation is something their parents or another rider will teach them, and the raising of their new dragon will be their first priority during their beginner years.

There is no specific licensing to own or fly a dragon, only for specific tasks in realms, such as Tundra farming, or Prehistoric beast hunting. The reasoning for this being that each realm comes with its own challenges, and making sure the rider is ready for such things.

There is also the Undercity’s licensing, being the amount of dragons you can have out and with you. Because of the shop-like center the Undercity is, the higher ups prefer to keep the dragons bustling about to a minimum (you don’t want a Radidon squishing your goods 😭🙏). The levels of these licenses entirely depends on money, not experience, so it’s sometimes abused by those with higher levels of wealth.

Now for the biggest thing: storing these dang things 🥲

Dragons are giant in some cases, and storing them was an issue for many of the first trainers/riders. However, Dragonstones were found/invented (the history books get fuzzy around there, whether someone found them or not) and revolutionized dragon storing and riding. Though stables are still in use in most places, when traveling with a large group of dragons, you’ll store your dragon stones in a bag or backpack respectively.

The Dragonstones look similar to Flairstones, but vary in size depending on the species it stores. Common, Uncommon, Rare, etc. (This logic would make Veid’s stones be massive, a sign of wealth if you will.) Due to these restrictions, higher level dragon riders will have larger bags to carry their higher quality dragons. Each species’ stone will have a different symbol, though sizes are simply determined by rarity. (Also Flairstones, you just slap those things on your Dragonstones and you get the flair equipped!!! They merge all cool-like, and are permanent in this lore :3)

When it comes to customization of dragons (prim/sec/tert mat/color pots) the potions are pretty simple. Quick-working magic that shows itself in your dragons fur/feathers/scales in a few hours. Though legendary potions are another story.

Most potions are brewed by an alchemist and sent out to be sold. Very rarely is an alchemist a rider as well, this being because of how profitable alchemy is, who would need to ride and fly around anyhow? But legendary alchemists are both frowned upon and celebrated by dragon riders.

Legendary potions are made with dragon magic, they cannot be made simply with materials from the world itself. Dragon magic is stored in a dragon’s heart (unfortunately) and this leads to large harvests of dragon souls (as they’re often referred to as by traders/alchemists). Each legendary potion varies depending on the souls used to make it (rarity again), and not only do higher levels of potions give you the very cool colors, but also advanced abilities. (It compounds, Common gives nothing, Uncommon gives 1.5x, Rare gives 2x, Epic gives 4x, 8, 16, it goes on.)

The higher value these potions are, the higher they go for in the Undercity. Not to mention, there is a shop in the back row near the fishing pools, simply labeled “Refinery”, where people often seem to drop their dragons off for a hearty profit, though they never see them again. 😨😨

but yeah!!!!!! that’s the basics involving gameplay!!! I might yap about the realms later (grassland, jungle, volcano, etc.) but that’s all I have time for rn I am so hungry I neeed to make eggs

Almost as a mockery of their worst heist, they were cursed with fur and feathers, a fox and a cockerel forevermore.

But it ain't all too bad. They come to an understanding through their shared troubles...eventually.

As mentioned eighty billion times before, I hc that Soundwave mimics purring my winding and unwinding his tape deck (he does it subconsciously when he’s happy/comfortable) and he utilizes that was a way of calming Ravage down and/or helping her sleep. Ravage always helped soundwave calm down and ground him by purring, so naturally Soundwave does the same for her. He’ll hold her against his chassis and purr and it calms her down quick.

Soundwave, being blessed with opposable thumbs, does a lot of grooming and frame maintenance for ravage (and the avians). He loves being able to pamper his cassettes, so when he gets his hands on some good polish, wax, and oil he will spend hours making sure ravage is clean and shiny and well oiled.

Ravage doesn’t sleep very well because she is normally paranoid and on high alert over the safety of her pack as well as general insomnia and nightmares. If she sleeps fitfully, Soundwave wakes up to calm her down and stay awake with her until she can doze off again.

For a little context: this part (aka... one of the only parts I have written XD) is right after a narrow escape, where Knight Dume, Padawan Bridger, and the Vicountess Sabine Wren are hiding in a cave. Long story short, Plot-Mandated Mid-Escape Puddle Mishaps combined with a Conveniently Located Thermal Pool ended with both kids having a heart-to-heart while rinsing mud out of their hair, and then...

Caleb rolled his eyes as he strode back inside, holodisc in hand. “Honestly, Master Kenobi. You can stop worrying. The last time I saw Ezra and the Vicountess, she was ready to tear his throat out and he wasn’t far behind. So I guarantee you, whatever past experience you have with Jedi-Mandalorian pairs on the run for their lives, these two are absolutely not—”

He stopped in his tracks, staring into the cave, then huffed.

“—kissing in a hot spring. I’ll call you back.”

He hung up and waited, but apparently Ezra was too distracted to notice the bantha in the room—or, more accurately, the Jedi Master in the cave. So Caleb snatched up a pebble with the Force and tossed it at his Padawan’s head.

“Ow! Hey, what was—MASTER?!”

Both kids splashed apart, red-faced. Caleb crossed his arms. “You two wanna explain?”

The Viscountess glanced at Ezra, then looked up at Caleb.

“No, sir.”

“Nope,” Ezra seconded.

“Uh-uh.”

“Not at all.”

“Never in a million years.”

“Just forget you saw anything.”

“Please.”

“Hey, was that your girlfriend you were talking to?” Ezra demanded cheekily, obviously trying to change the subject.

Caleb scowled at his Padawan. “You’re not one to talk, kid.”

“Sure I am.”

“Yeah, he never shuts up,” the Viscountess added.

“Well, for your information,” Caleb said flatly. “That was actually Master Kenobi. He wanted to know how the mission was going.”

“Pretty great, if you ask me,” Ezra grinned, and she punched his arm.
