I think the best example of how 'taking an obviously bad liberal position on an issue and just holding the opposite stance within the exact same framework' isn't at all a substitute for an actual communist view on the matter is the absolutely inane statement of 'Your HRT isn't more important than Palestinian lives!' -- like, take a step back here and consider for two seconds why we're just accepting as implicit the notion that trans rights and anti-imperialism are inherently at odds with one another? Is this actually true? And who does it serve to say that it is?

in the spirit of honesty...the way some of yall write jazz in transformers fanfic is honestly appalling. it screams ive never met a black person in my life. it screams i watched michael bays 2007 transformers and took notes, as if the bayverse hasnt been criticized for its terrible stereotyping.
yes, he has an accent. yes, he uses slang. but jesus christ. his usage is not as egregious as yall write it. yall write him like hes stupid and uneducated. the ultimate caricature of a black man. its super insulting.
and i get that he's not actually black due to not being human but he is black coded and the treatment is abysmal at times.
my advice? JUST WRITE DIALOGUE. our brains do the rest. i know what he sounds like, i can fill it in myself.
stop writing "ay, ya sure ya got shit handled, fam'? bro, i 'aint no fool, i gots that dog n' me."
ESPECIALLY BC JAZZ HAS NEVER. SPOKEN LIKE THAT ANYWAY.
sincerely, a (very) frustrated black person.

pretty immediately, the thing that stands out about every post about the end of the ep that places the armies and warriors of Vasselheim as victims is the subtle obfuscation of that militarized status. there were armies, intending to lock Imogen and the Hells away for the crime of saving them. and people are comparing them to Buddhist monks. violence and threat in the hands of outsiders is horrifying, but violence to maintain the preexisting power structures is so normalized as to be forgotten.

while I'm fully convinced that autistic Steve headcanon is based on canon interactions it does change how I view certain parts of canon into completely different from what the Duffers intended for example: his crush on Robin. I fully respect that Steve had a real crush on Robin. However. I feel like we are Informed of this crush through Dustin more than we ever actually see it and I could nor count the amount of times my friends assigned me a crush on one hand. Sometimes we are just told we have a crush and our answer is, "that doesnt sound right but I don't know enough about emotions to dispute it."

To be clear, I do not want my emojis to be animated. I have never wanted my emojis to be animated, and I will never want them to be animated. I will always tell a company not to swap out static emojis for ones that have stupid bullshit little unnecessary animations that change the meaning of the emoji

You seem to be coming from a pretty optimistic place, though, with Council Skies. I guess it’s uplifting in the right places, and it’s melancholy in the right places. I think it’s quite an honest record. I don’t like to make the [songs] too autobiographical. I certainly wouldn’t draw attention to the parts of songs that are about me and my life. “Dead to the World” is very autobiographical. So are “Think of a Number,” “Council Skies” and “Trying To Find a World That’s Been and Gone.” -- noel interview, spin.com, may 25, 2023

bonus, liam when asked about the song: "It's all about me it always was and is"

Listen I'm pretty tired of constantly seeing "twink with bad hair" Gotham!Oswald and "generic Mafia guy played by an non-fat actor in a fat suit" Reevesverse!Oswald and personally think they're overrated but Telltale!Penguin is like one of the few Penguin designs that actively pisses me off
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even with the suit and monocle he just looks like the most generic ass man I've ever seen and I think it's really telling they felt the need to give him a straight up bird mask cuz his ass does not look like a penguin

I think at least half of my criticisms of ESO’s writing are a result of the game’s attempt to have its cake (have a chronological sequence of events and storylines) and eat it too (make almost all storylines and quests be accessible in any order). Trying to do both at once has just led to them not doing either one very well imo.
They want to have overarching stories that develop over multiple expansions, but because they want players to be able to jump into any expansion in any order, each one's main storyline has to make sense and be somewhat disconnected from the other storylines from different expansions in the same overall arc. Any side quest that relates to the main storyline needs to be understandable without knowing anything about the main storyline. And this makes it feel like the writing is often held back and the dialogue doesn't reflect that I already know what's going on.
On the other hand, they also want any expansion accessible at any time. Overall I actually like that I can go to any zone whenever as long as I own them (I'm not locked out of them until I finish previous ones or something like that) and the difficulty is relatively the same, but from a story perspective it just leads to so much timeline fuckery and, like I said, it feels like it holds them back from having actually solid conflicts and character writing.
So far, of the 2 year-long arcs I've played (Elsweyr and Skyrim), in both the main story of the bigger chapter felt so much better paced, with more tightly woven and coherent narratives/characters, while the DLC felt like we were going on a long tangent in a new conflict that was superficially connected to the story from the chapter (and then a pretty satisfying epilogue tying them together, but I don't think that detracts from my point). At the same time, I'm not sure the DLC stories would've made a lot of sense to me if I hadn't already played through the chapter. They would've been so much better if they weren't stuck making the DLCs their own thing and just embraced having them be the second part of a larger story.
Hell, I know everyone loves the Daedric War arc, but I feel like it almost had the opposite issue, where the overarching narrative felt under-developed in Morrowind and Clockwork City until it was tied together in Summerset (even then, it just wasn't satisfying to me personally. That might just be because I'm not a fan of that story though).
idk if this makes a lot of sense because I'm not good at explaining my thoughts, but it's just an observation I've been having while playing.

i hate to see young women being groomed into thinking this is a safe option. even just ten years ago, the average young girl and woman had a better grasp on how this is a decision most are forced into by trafficking or desperation.

kind of does my head in how people are obsessed with connecting everything certain artists do to their publicised relationships. like no sabrina carpenter performing bed chem at the brits wasn't a petty dig at her ex because it was his favourite song. she's literally promoting her latest single. get a grip

Reasons for submission:
Nothingburger. There are no content warnings.
Burdensome Code. The first GIF is what you see when you access this person's pages. The code forces you to sit through a slow-scrolling wall of text (that you can't re-read without refreshing the page). You have to get to the end where you're able to click the sun fontawesome icon to get to the regular page as pictured in the second image.
Accessibility Issue. I'd argue that this falls under an accessibility issue as not everyone reads quickly enough to process the scrolling text. Granted it's restated in the plain page in the second image, it's not made to be easy for as many users to read and follow.
DNI / BYF List.
List of Rules.
Egregious Example. (I've already elaborated on this in the other points.)
I genuinely have no words for this. I laughed when the text started scrolling and I had to sit there and watch. (Good luck if you're a slow reader, by the way.) The absurdity of this tops anything I've encountered on this site thus far.
To the anon who submitted this, hats off to you.
