Depressing elbneif au thought: Sunny eventually concludes he's not needed to help Mari and thus not worth keeping around, runs away into the forest, leaving everything to his sister. Such a sad, childish thing to do...
but as everyone's arguing at the house over what to do and whose fault it is and where he could have gone, Mari is the first person to note there's a steak knife missing from the kitchen.
Days later, a small body is found lying under a tree deep in the forest.
I took this idea and put my spin on it.
This is the promised thing from a previous post about the Bad End of Elbneif - I won't pursue it on my own, but if people give me great ideas, I love to elaborate on them

So i saw that there's a bad ending for the au where Mari's in a wheelchair, and it gave me the most evil idea: Aubrey has a lot of angry grief it seems, and the reason all of this happened with Sunny feeling the way he did is because of Their dad... Aubrey's gonna bash his fucking head in.

I imagine the Elbneif Good End is just.
"These divorce proceedings are going pretty rough for Mister Suzuki. Oh what's that, oh would you look at that here comes Sunny's Mom with a steel chair!"
Shitpost Aside; Sunny's Mom divorces their dad, wins full custody like a chad. Sunny gets help and actual therapy, Mari somehow gains some re-use of her legs, and .. And ... I'll stop entertaining the pipe dream.
I'll entertain you ideas with the first pic of Mrs. Suzuki. She looks like a Cinnamonroll!

You know, and another ask. How does everyone else react to the bad end?
Hey again!
Short answer:
Basil is stuck in silent grief, Aubrey has angry grief, and it's all so unfair, Mari is first depressed and then cold, Hero tries to be as little baggage as possible and Kel really isn't doing well, after he was struck by the fear of loosing an ability to walk and never do what he loves again, he is now struck again but just by sheer fear of death.

There will be no long answer for some time because I will try to focus now on the way to the good ending!

How would the other characters react in the Bad End? Especially Hero...
I will answer the other characters as whole later, but here is Hero's Pov of this.
He feels awful and guilty. He hasn't been the nicest person towards Sunny since the accident - but he tried to be better. After all, Sunny was only a kid, and it was an accident.
In the end, he'd shelf his emotions and guilt for the time to be there for Mari. She lost her brother and is in far more pain than him. He wouldn't dare to make it about anything else. Because he wouldn't grieve, the death of Sunny would haunt him longer than ... necessary.

So what's the good end to elbneif? Like what's the other end of the spectrum here?
Hey Robotmieser!
To be honest, I am trying really hard to figure this one out, but I am making it too complicated.
I want it to be a happy end with a logical way to it and with proper consequences. It can't be just a fairytale ending. It needs to be earned to make it satisfying!
But I also want that moment with Hero's proposal to be a part of the happy ending too. And I do want to redeem Mari and Sunny's dad a bit. He is an ass, and he is obviously playing favourites, but I want to implement a bit of what I have been through with my own dad. Ofc not every person in reallife is worth the trouble to change, but in this case it is and so I want to do this with their dad too.

I guess a major question is: Would Sunny go around as a ghost in the Bad End like Mari did in-game?
I don't think there was a ghost in the game, it's a part of Sunny's mind - in my opinion. If others disagree or want there to be ghosts, it's great!
But for this AU, there are no ghosts, only the complicated minds of humans and what it produces.

will sunny go to therapy?
Hi Pluto!
To be honest - he should! And so should Mari.
But do they? Hmmm.... I'll think about it. Everyone except Hero should have therapy. Lots of trauma everywhere, but the big boi doesn't have enough to get therapy, sorry

I would assume Mari would go through something similar to canon Sunny or Hero in this Bad End timeline?
Hey Pyro, thanks for the question uwu
Well to be honest, I don't know! I don't think much about how a bad end would go.
After raking my brain for a bit I would say that she wouldn't be like Canon Sunny. First, she is much more temperamental than her brother. Second, she is much more mature than her brother in the original timeline, when the death of her brother would happen. She would think "Why haven't I done enough", but she also would try to beat her father to a pulp (after initial grief), cause he is clearly the villain in this story.
And she wouldn't be like Hero, I suppose? She has a fighting spirit, more than her younger self and she wouldn't keep her anger or sadness at bay.
