Electrical Tragedy
Construction sites are full of electrical hazards, and the services of an onsite electrician is necessary. But sometimes accidents still happen, as evidence from the inquest of the death of a carpenter in Queensland has shown.
Outside of the site鈥檚 demolition zone, a damaged light fitting was reportedly identified as being in contact with a metal water pipe, that was also in contact with metal scaffolding. The metal scaffolding is the surface which the carpenter touched.
The problem was, the area was beyond the demolition site, which meant that it wasn鈥檛 closely monitored.
Evidence of negligence has yet to be proven.

Hiring an Electricians May be Cheaper in the Long Run
For most people, the main consideration in making a DIY project of electrical work is cost. Everybody wants to save money, and many figure that they can do electrical work themselves, without paying costly electrician fees.
But hiring a professional may actually be cheaper in the long run.
Electrical work is dangerous work, and it's also very technical work. Many DIYers learn soon enough that they may have gotten in way over their head. Then they call in the professionals, if you鈥檈 one of those people go to this website and get the pros doing the grunt work.
Those who manage to finish their DIY electrical project learn that a bunch of stuff isn't working the way it鈥檚 supposed to, and then they call in the professionals. Electricians who come in late in the day usually have a lot to say about the novice electrical work they encounter, and how unsafe and dangerous it all is.

Electrical Hazards
Sometimes you can be as careful as you could be, but it is the negligence of others that can cause harm.
That is what happened to an electrician in Madison County, who claims that the power system operator failed to follow the proper sequence for shutting down a circuit breaker, and also for failing to provide information or advice that it was going to do just that.
The result? The circuit breaker exploded, and an electrician suffered severe injury, including disfigurement and disability.
A case for negligence is now pending against the power system operator.
