Victor Vale is really important to me as asexual rep.

The only person he ever had a crush on was the girl that fit his specific definitions of perfect. Smart, likeable, nice to him. In order to stay within that “top of the class” role he’d been thrown into, she was a naturally obvious choice.

But she was taken by someone better.

Taken by Eli. Unwaveringly full of a million defensive layers yet still Victor finds common ground, a kindred spirit. In his friendship and eventual obsession with Eli lies something far deeper than simply desire- it’s the corrupting need to understand.

There’s no big reveal about Victors sexuality, it isn’t really discussed. Yet as an ace person, something resonates. Indifference to physical action doesn’t mean a complete lack of feeling. A meaningless action can be rendered priceless for the moments in between. Glances, whispered words, the sensation of touch.

It all comes back to that soul crushing yearning for mutual understanding. To find someone just like him, that’s what Victor wants. Someone to know his faults and his desires, to share in them.

This is an extremely nuanced reading but as someone that struggles to find media representation of my emotional processing, it’s a comfort to see a kindred want expressed. I yearn for more ace rep with individual depth. To love deeply is not always so straightforward.

Headcanon time:

During long boring missions or trips in hyperspace when Thrawn feels understimulated, Eli compiles artwork from different cultures and sends it to his datapad.

Thrawn’s favorite game is when Eli sends him a few hundred or so sundry images and Thrawn has to sort them by culture. The game gets more complex every time, with the number of pictures growing and Eli omitting the number and names of the sources or giving Thrawn misleading information, a time limit, etc.

Thrawn is secretly touched by it all as it reminds him of the days Thrass used to take him to art galleries and museums when he was feeling stressed.

Dont you wonder how Gordon have must feel when Gman wasnt watching him, but like, even if Gman was not there for the moment, he still felt watched, mostly because of how much he was under Gman control, he probably didn't even know he was "free" for a moment, trying to say to himself he is probably still there, watching him somewhere, It is about time the Gman will appear to him again. Also i imagine how he must feel seeing the vortigaunts taking him and far from Gman, he probably thought once again he was in stasis but also didnt know what was happening, and then when he wakes up Alyx hugs him, since when did someone show that kind of affection? It's been like 20 years since the resonance cascade but for Gordon, it was just a few days ago, it feels so indifferent but yet so relieved when finally someone shows him affection.

this year i really wanted the “elvis: now and forever” ring from the bradford exchange. so, i ordered it!

it arrived early today. i was gonna put it under my tree and wait until christmas to open it, but i couldn’t resist!
