Today on Very Serious Spy Scenarios, imagine Illya and Napoleon at the beginning of their partnership, with Napoleon happily pushing all of Illya's buttons every five seconds to try and see what will get him punched and what not. Illya is endlessly frustrated with him, especially because he CANNOT get a rise out of him, no matter how hard he tries.
And then one day, when they are arguing, again, Illya is getting desperate to Win This and so this conversation ensues:
Illya: "What's your problem, your parents never hugged you as a child?"
Napoleon, completely unfazed: "Actually no, my father barely spoke to me and my mother lowkey disliked me, so."
Illya:
Napoleon:
Illya:
Napoleon: "What?"
Illya: *getting teary-eyed*
Napoleon, now a little scared: "Peril?"
Illya: *bear hug attack*

the moon for the oc meme please!!!
Eli.
Not sure why Tumblr decided to make the image so blurry ? :/
While those who are part of the Old Church of Aeteris are usually more closely associated with the Sun, Eli's first appearance in the short story The Companions of the Blue Forest is in the middle of the night. There's a silvery-white light, at the edges of a character's vision, at midnight in the middle of a swamp...
Here, let's translate the passage (this short story is in french) (also this passage for now literally only exists in the first draft; my second draft hasn't gotten here yet, i haven't worked on it in. so long).
"Alan was woken up by a repeated, regular sound, slowly approaching the camp. It sounded like a staff if it had been planted in the muddy soil of the swamp at the same speed one would walk. Through the fog, he could see a strange, silver glow around a silhouette that he couldn't yet quite parse.
[...]
When the silhouette was finally close enough, Alan stopped breathing for a second. Tall, with dark brown skin and incredibly long, cascading hair, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Incredibly, she was dressed in a long, flowy, ancient clerical robe, of a pure white despite her walking barefoot in a swamp. She was the one emitting that silvery-white light, like a forgotten spirit walking the earth.
Alan was seriously starting to think he was just dreaming."
Idk, she just feels very moon to me.

ty for the tag, @evilbunnyking! I've been working on a lil Agency Party fic
"He wanted to inform me the choice of wine was awful," Nate says, tilting his glass towards Ely.
She leans forward to sniff at it, but the way her nose crinkles has him laughing softly.
She rolls her eyes, knocking her head against his shoulder, and slips her hand in his, thumb immediately drawing idle patterns along his wrist.
Despite the familiarity he provides, Ely is still an oddity amongst the gathered supernaturals, and plenty wander up to them to chat. Nate makes most of the small talk, Ely chiming in here and there with comments of her own, but all the while, her thumb keeps smoothing over his skin.
It takes him in between one brief conversation and the next pause when they're left alone, to realize that Ely's thumb is tracing more than just random patterns.
She's tracing letters against him.
He tenses, ever so slightly, looking down to her. She says nothing, her eyes skimming the crowd, but a sly smile curves her lips.
H-I, she draws along his pulse.
He exhales a laugh. "What are you planning?" he asks, voice low.
"Me? What would I be planning?" she asks, faux innocence dripping in her tone. Her thumb traces as she speaks. S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E. F-O-R. Y-O-U.

i'm so convinced that every writer for every big show or movie that has the main character have an amputation is not personally close with an amputee
with the exception of maybe forrest gump bc i thought lt. dan was very convincing and compelling
but like. they make getting and maintaining prosthetics look easy. they make it look not very painful (or the pain is super temporary). they don't bring up the emotional distress being an amputee can create, and if they bring up the ableism, it's a distasteful joke. all the negativity is done upon amputation and never beyond. and that's just so unrealistic i think. unless i, myself, am the world's most sensitive bitchy amputee.
