Free from the Shadow: Samurai Fantasy (Session Zero) Lowell Francis runs for Elle, Mike Minutillo, and Sherri We work through World and Clan creation in the session zero for this adaptation of Free from the Yoke for samurai fantasy play. We learn of the history of the conspiracy and fallen Kami who nearly destroyed the Empire and about our three PC Clans who hope to bring order to the land.

Fate of the Quadrant (Session 3) Alun R. runs for Lowell Francis, Paul Rivers, and Will H Acting First Officer's Personal Log - Stardate 48157.9 - Lieutenant V'Sal Reporting: Captain Prel hasn't explained why we have been diverted from Starbase 310 to Deep Space 9 but we should be dropping out of warp there any time now. What I will say is that the announcement of the change is the first time I've ever seen him show even a glimmer of genuine interest in our mission. Meanwhile, the presence of Princess T'ren & Ambassador Dijenn remains...trying. Mixing Federation and family affairs is rarely straightforward but I had hoped that this would be a logical opportunity for a reconciliation. Still, as I have come to understand in my time in Starfleet, logic has its limits and so, it appears, do my parents. Then...shore leave on DS9, a prototype installed and through the wormhole, before an unfamiliar foe must be confronted and tunnels beneath the ruins of New Bajor explored...

Eotenweard: Northumbria (Session 1) Alun R. runs for José Feito, Paul Rivers, Sabine V., and Will H We meet Black Jell, the Loon, with a single wandering eye who was brought to the others by a vision of blood; Solinus, the Rogue, who sees his Gift as evidence that he may matter to God; Cadog of the Order of St Adrian, the Sword of God who was told those he met at a cross-roads were worthy; and Fynn, a Skinchanger who recognized the others having previously dreamed of them. Together they have been drawn to the once thriving settlement of Thrydingas beside a river now clogged by rotting fish, something Cadog's Order says is 'demon-sign'. The villagers mark their huts with protective wards but they clearly desire the opportunity to return to fishing, while their naive Lord prefers to listen to stories... There's more rotting fish, projectile vomiting, and a slave girl's fear...and then...a lurking threat in a sinister fen...

Heroes of the Hearth: Fresh Faces (Session 1 of 2) Madelancholy runs for Paul D. and Rob Fletcher "Today we do not sing of adventurers, but the people behind the adventurers...we sing of how they themselves deal with the threat that holds their lands in thrall..." Supposedly this story game can be done in 2-3 hours...the first time we played this, it was a time crunch in 4 hours. This time, we breathe life into different characters and make this two-shot of village life with a world threat looming - check out Part 1!

I just realized I don't have an intro post for DLC, and it's kinda confusing. So here's one.

Welcome to The Department of Lost Creatures!

I'm your host and the head of office here, Diane Anima. Lets take a tour, eh?

Here in our state-of-the-art demigod run building, we lean heavily on Greco-Romani design choices for our architecture, as well as Renaissance-era choices for our room design. The photo shown is the entrance to the garden through the green doors in our tower, but the outside of the building looks a little something like this;

And if you can't find us? No worries! Our building moves around the continent and between countries due to magical shenanigans. Need us, the building comes to you. (Though we do usually stay in the New York area, we have been known to travel up to countries like Norway, The Netherlands and Russia, down to Australia, Taiwan and The Philippines.)

The inside of our Department is quite like the TARDIS seen in Doctor Who; much bigger on the inside than out. We have a few different sections to our building, including;

The Book Corner/Library,

The Entertainment Room/Living Area,

The Tower (We'll get to the rooms there in a moment),

And The Main Hall. It's your first impression of the establishment.

For the tower, the rooms change constantly to the person opening the door. Depending on the color, that is the room you are supposed to go into. Up the tower are different rooms if you want to break the design, but I would stick to the concept.

Red is a training room. It can also be used as a rage room for people with pent-up emotional trauma, and I know our souls have that.

Yellow is considered a bedroom. The door sometimes changes its color to the person's favorite, but it is usually yellow. The inside changes to the person's liking, usually consisting of a canopy bed with décor relating to the person, as well as things they favor.

Green is the garden. Mainly our lovely Bede Ortega cares for the flowers, fruit and vegetables that grow there, but we all pitch in when she needs it.

Blue is our pool room. It also doubles as an aquarium.

Purple is the observatory. Our souls come here to watch the stars or just watch. It's also a popular napping spot.

White is our silent room. It was made per request after a rather unruly game night scenario. It is always silent in here.

Grey is the therapy room. One of the lovely assistants here, Lucius, god of Harpies, volunteers as the therapist for anyone who needs to talk.

And we don't go in the Black door.

We have a wide selection of souls in our department, since we have ties with Thanatos/Mors (dear brother, please stop sending us nutcases), who sends the souls of demigods to us if they wanted more with their lives. I'll run through the list of them, starting with our oldest.

I'm Diane Anima, as said before, the one who runs DLC and controls it's pupils. Damien told me how to do this thing called 'a selfie', so here's one of me.

We can't forget the owners of the Department and the buildings surrounding it, so I'll pass the mic to my lovely brother, Dante Anima.

With DLC as the main building, me and my siblings have devised a chain that links to it, so we can get our own sources of income (even if one of us uses mediocre magic).

I run the food truck that usually appears on the side of the road next to DLC, called DANTE'S INFERNO. It features all the food you can want, from tamales and quesadillas to Bánh Mì and Tteokbokki. We have literally everything- except casseroles.

Very easy to find, just look for the red truck with the name I gave earlier on it, that's me.

Call Me By Your Name

Como dissera anteriormente, Call Me By Your Name foi a obra mais explicita, mais nua, mais crua, mais honesta que já li. No entanto, nunca me passou pela cabeça que o final fosse ao nível que foi.

O livro é uma lupa a um relacionamento na vida de Elio e, mesmo sendo descrito como um romance, Call Me By Your Name chega a um outro nível. Não é um romance ouco nem um romance dramático. Eu diria que é mais um inside à vida de Elio do que propriamente um romance. Call Me By Your Name é um obra construída na base do famoso quote que, por muito ignorado ou subestimado, algumas coisas continuam iguais apenas por mudarem. O poema e a mensagem de São Clemente são uma metáfora do que é a vida. Call Me By Your Name é, então, uma lição de vida, uma perspetiva crua da vida.

Pela minha interpretação, esta obra ultrapassa e afasta-se, muitas vezes, do romance. Embora os destaques da obra sejam, obviamente, o choque da honestidade sexual e afetiva, nunca escondi o facto de ser uma obra profunda com diferentes significados conforme o ângulo de vista do leitor. Talvez compare a obra ao Paradise da Lana Del Rey, o que aparenta ser uma coisa é, no fim, uma obra prima profunda cheia de sentido, retirada dele pela simples afirmação: Lana Del Rey é depressiva.

Os anos passam e a vida muda ou aparenta mudar. A vida passa por nós e cada vez temos menos para oferecer a cada pessoa nova que conhecemos; aos 30 anos estamos esgotados; a uma certa altura já ninguém se aproxima ou olha para o nosso corpo e o nosso coração esta esgotado. Mas o tempo continua a correr. Continua a correr e continuamos a matar qualquer tipo de emoção que nos faça sentir algo; matamos a dor com medo do que ela significa, curamo-nos das coisas muito antes do tempo, escondemos a dor que apenas aumenta ao tentarmos esconde-la.

Curiosidade: é um romance gay! É o estereótipo atribuido no entanto a palavra gay é apenas mencionada uma vez durante a obra inteira. Não é um romance gay, não é uma relação gay, são dois seres humanos e, se estás a ler isto, estás conformado que eu tenho esta opinião acerca deste assunto. Esta obra veio apenas a comprova-lo e a torna-lo ainda mais forte.

O que sinto agora, de facto, é dor pelo murro na alma que levei ao acabar a leitura desta obra. Confesso que o final do filme não me afetou tanto quanto afetou a outras pessoas, mas o final original, do livro, destruiu completamente a visão que tinha sobre a vida. Com um lado positivo, no fim das contas.
